Spent a weekend at Six Bells and was blown away. Rooms were beautiful, unique, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and responsive and Eric, the innkeeper was such a pro and really made us feel welcome and special. Food was excellent, especially the Hake, pot pie, and smoked trout. I had several cocktails (also delicious!) on one of the hottest days of the year while sitting on the back porch staring at the river. A bald eagle even made repeated appearances in the trees above the river!! Can’t wait to get back over there!! Oh, yeah, and the town of Rosendale is super cute with lots of cool shops to explore.

Six Bells Countryside Inn opened its doors in July 2025, and we were lucky enough to stay there the first weekend of August. The service at both the inn and the restaurant (more on that below) was warm and attentive. The decor was incredible -- look up the review in Architectural Digest as I can't do it justice. The location in the small, cute town of Rosendale was perfect for day hikes and side trips to Kingston and New Paltz. The included breakfast buffet, served in the restaurant, was fresh and delicious, featuring such delicacies as smoked trout, homemade biscuits, and overnight oats. The two dinners we ate at the restaurant were also amazing -- the flatiron steak, chicken pot pie, corn fritters, and succotash were our favorite dishes. Would come back here in a heartbeat!

Beautiful inn, immaculately designed -- really a unique place I would highly recommend. The food is also very tasty, the town quaint and charming, and the environment nearby stunning. We went in the summer and I would absolutely love to come back another time of year, especially the fall, as I imagine the leaves nearby would be a sight to see. Thanks to the team, and look forward to coming back again!

This off-the -beaten track tavern is off our list. The Sunday Buffet is a pre-determined menu served one dish after another, whether you like it or not. The biscuits, eggs and smoked trout were lovely. The Johnny Cakes were gritty and flavorless, the spinach with bacon was bitter, and the sausage could have been unseasoned ground beef with a tomato compote. The coffee was delicious, but not enough to bring us back for more.

The most magical place to spend a long weekend. Very sweet and romantic but also lovely for kids, and just enough to do in the surrounding area to not get bored. Also: Incredible food. Worth a stop for a meal even if you're not staying overnight.

What a great find! This place is gorgeous and truly special. A tiny bit spooky which adds to the magic of it. The owner Mike was lovely, as was the receptionist Michael. We stayed in the suite (2 bedrooms) and the beds were very soft and comfortable. A/C was nice and cold. We had plenty of room. |The sitting room where they serve a light, delicious breakfast (muffins, bananas, clementines, and coffee/tea all day) was very pretty and cozy — I'd love to sit there all day and read a book. The back outdoor seating area is beautiful too. Plus, location was perfect. We could walk just 1-2 minutes to some local restaurants, cafes and bakeries. My recommendation is to book through them directly via their website/calling--sometimes booking sites charge local places like this a fee. |We will be back! Thank you Mike & Michael the spectacular stay and wonderful local recommendations.

We were visiting friends about 1 mile away so this was a perfect place to stay. Our room had good A/C and wi-fi. There was a reasonable desk and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern and up to date. Most of the rooms are on the second floor so be prepared to lug your bags up a long flight of creaky steps. Grab and go breakfast was very good and included a variety of fruit (banannas, apples and oranges), yogurt, Keurig coffee and several varieties of large muffins. No hot food bt this was a very good substitute. Lots of comfortable common areas for your use. Big patio out back. At one time they had a restaurant but that is no longer functioning. Perhaps as we recover from the pandemic, it will come back. No daily housekeeping, similar to most hotels these days.
