Oregon’s New Winery, Cho Wines, Wants to Show Off Pinot Noir’s Diversity | Eater Portland

"John and Lynn Albin, who founded Six Peaks Winery, also own Laurel Vineyard—the source of Cho Wines’ pinot noir—and thus have a direct connection to the Chos’ inaugural releases." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Loved this hidden gem! Stunning views, relaxed cozy family vibe and delicious wine. Would 10/10 recommend! The wine tasting came with one sparkling, 2 whites and 2 reds and a snack plate with fresh fruits, cheese, crackers and nuts. Tasting was 25$ per head. The owners and staff were very friendly and the 5 doggos on the property were equally welcoming. The spot is kid friendly and pet friendly. The grand opening with a bigger porch is planned for sometime next year but even the current smaller setup is so beautiful.

Google
Very friendly and welcoming place with amazing views. Enjoyed talking with the server about the wine. Huge variety of wine in the tasting and they bring you snacks/charcuterie plate! Very good value and good wine. They’re building a new facility on the property with a new tasting room, will want to come back to see that.

Gorgeous views and amazing wine! We didn’t know that this location was reservation only but Todd was able to accommodate us as walk-in and still delivered amazing service and vibes! We also got lucky and had an extra member servicing us, the winery dog Stella. Thank you for having us! :-)

Google
Six Peaks Winery is such a gem—family-run, super welcoming, and all about that old-school Oregon wine experience. The views from Bald Peak are stunning, the wines are genuinely great without being overpriced, and the whole place feels relaxed. It’s dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and just has this laid-back vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy a glass on the patio. A true local treasure.

Lovely place, lovely people and lovely wines! Can't wait to go back once the tasting room is complete!

Google
Truly had a great experience here. The wines were lovely. The staff are engaging, friendly and informative. There wasn't any pretention which is sometimes really off-putting to me at wineries. I'm so excited to come back when the new tasting room is up in a few months. So happy we found this place!

If you're a wine lover, Six Peaks is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed by Lynn, the passionate owner, and Todd, the gracious host, who together create a truly memorable experience. Their selection of wines is impressively well-balanced and mature—each bottle ready to be savored now or tucked away for a special celebration. Whether you're looking to sip, stock, or simply soak in the ambiance, Six Peaks delivers in every way.

Yelp
Wonderful tasting experience, delicious wines, and a service experience that truly makes you feel like you're part of the family. When we called for a reservation, one of the owners answered the phone and got us set up. On arrival, they greeted my wife and I by name and got us in one of the best seats in the house with an amazing view. We also got to meet practically their whole family- including Murphy, their adorable guard dog. The tasting included four or five wines (our favorite being the Blanc de Blanc and the Rose) and a delicious charcuterie board. As we were wrapping up, we got a grand tour of their new facilities by a very passionate 2nd grader. I promised myself not to buy a wine membership until I've been to the same place a few times but I was INCREDIBLY close on breaking that promise day one. Overall great experience and will certainly come back soon.

Yelp
THE BIG: Located in Hillsboro Oregon and has a gorgeous view of the volcano especially Mount Hood in the back. Plenty of parking in the lot in front. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was our last winery stop before we headed back to Portland and we were fortunate to snag a seat outside overlooking Mount Hood. This place also doubles as an Airbnb so if there's ever a stay the night kind of deal, this winery offers it. I got the wine tasting of four which consisted of a pinot gris, cab franc, pinot noir and a rose of pinot noir. My favorite out of the bunch was surprisingly the cab franc, even though we were in pinot country. Very green and vegetal tasting. It was a weird way to get to the bathroom which I had to walk around the building because the farmer was sleeping in the main room. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a tasting was around $28. I'd say a good value and good wines with a great view.

Yelp
I am thrilled see that Six Peaks has received a 5 star rating. Todd was phenomenal in his knowledge and presentation of the wines that we tasted. I am anxious to see the new tasting room when it is completed, but the current location of the tasting is perfect, punctuated by visits by the two pugs. The charcuterie plate that is provided was enjoyed by all. Very impressive first visit to Six Peaks

Yelp
We had a lovely afternoon here enjoying exceptional wine and a beautiful charcuterie board. It's a very casual environment, nestled amongst trees, looking out to expansive views of the vineyard. Just beautiful! The service is wonderful, it feels like your guests at someone's house. just enough talk and descriptions of wine without being overbearing. we never had to wait for the next pour, they saw when we were ready and magically appeared. It's dog friendly, so my friend brought their lab pup. The owners also have dogs - but be cautious as one of their large dogs went after our pup. Thankfully the owner was able to grab him and kept him locked up for the rest of the time, but it did have me quite rattled. The next time, we will leave the pup home out of caution.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday with a reservation and it was perfect. The wine was good but what really sold me was the winery and the people itself! They had their dogs roaming free and I loved that they had photos of them on their menus. The view of Mt. Hood was gorgeous. And the staff were so friendly. The wine tasting was $25 a person and included 5 wines and a complementary charcuterie board. Highly recommend if you're looking for a more casual wine tasting and like dogs.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Has all the rustic charm and beauty of Oregon and amazing Willamette Valley wines! We stopped by for an afternoon of wine tasting and the service was outstanding, the owners make you feel like their own personal guests. Not to mention their four dogs who welcome you to the property are beyond adorable. My favorite wine was their Chardonnay; it was crisp, dry and not too buttery. Their charcuterie board was a great size and offered a variety of pairings for the different wines.

Yelp
The best experience we have ever had at a winery! Todd was so knowledgeable and courteous. Blankets and heaters were available on the patio, a delicious charcuterie board, and the views were gorgeous. We loved that Murphy and Todd met us at our car. Such personal service. Wines were delicious.

Yelp
Awesome venue with exceptional wine and service. We enjoyed the family dogs and atmosphere. Can't wait for the new tasting room to be built!

Yelp
This is a beautiful venue for wine tasting! Todd is the wine tasting manager and knows everything you want to know about different wines and is an exceptional host. The service is outstanding. The wine served was excellent. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. It gets a little chilly up in that region, even on a sunny day. They have blankets on each chair to keep you warm - I recommend coming to this winery with a light jacket or at least have it packed in your car. This was my first wine tasting experience and the best way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon with friends or someone you love. I loved every minute of it! I highly recommend this winery!! Oh, and they let you bring your dog! Wonderful experience.

Yelp
Gorgeous views, delicious wine, and DOGS! I really couldn't ask for a better tasting experience. They even provided a delicious charcuterie with the tasting...I was really blown away by this place!! The atmosphere is just unparalleled. Our tasting was handled by the owner and he was both charming and down to earth. And his dogs were so adorable...even the grumpy pug! He was so sweet and cute. Go for the view, stay for the dogs...leave with wine to remember your time there. I did and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Six Peaks was our group's favorite of the trip! The views were amazing, the wine tasting was delicious, and the staff (including the dogs) were so nice.

Yelp
What an incrediable find. This was one of this best wine tasting experiences I have had in recent memory. It is a little off the beaten track, but that just makes that much better. Upon arrival you are awarded with a breath-taking view. Then we were seated at a table facing the view, and there was a cheese plate waiting for us. I believe we had 6 tastings, cheese plate, and were given cake with our dessert wine. The tasting is fee is $20, but if you purchse 2 bottles of wine that is waived. I thought it was a great value, as the place we went the following day was charging $35 just for the cheese plate that was included here.

Yelp
Beautiful views with owner-poured wine. We got the full experience as they give a small, but adequate charcuterie tray to accompany the flight. Really a peaceful, special experience. Patio heaters and amazingly effective blankets provided. (Their pugs do visit during the tasting.) Can't wait to visit again, wiah it was closer in proximity. I was treated to the experience, so I am not entirely sure, but I think reservations are required.

Yelp
Six Peaks is the absolute best! Hands down, the best experience I have had at a winery. The owner poured our tasting and put together the most amazing charcuterie boards ever. Bonus, pugs!

Yelp
An absolutely wonderful experience, albeit a bit hidden off the beaten path. Went with a friend for a Sunday afternoon tasting during a trip to the area and had a wonderful experience - the wines were superb and the hospitality was wonderful, even with another large group there for a Father's Day celebration. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and enjoyable, with great views to top it off. Reasonable prices for bottles and a wine club that is very no-pressure should you be interested. Don't hesitate to book a tasting here- you will not be dissappointed.

Marisa H.

Yelp
Extraordinary service led by one of the owners, with amazing wine and stories to top it off. There are cute pugs that add to the ambience of the little family run winery with amazing views of the peaks. We ended up leaving the wine tasting with amazing photos and a few bottles of wine!

Yelp
Absolutely loved our visit to Six Peaks. The owner (can't believe I didn't get her name) was bursting with warmth and hospitality. Cozy blankets, heaters, lovely wine, amazing views, pugs running around. I'm vegan so she made me a special little plate of food instead of the meat and cheese she serves to other guests. Truly above and beyond in terms of making us feel welcome. Will definitely be back.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is truly a gem! It's well off the beaten path, but so worth the drive. We were greeted by the nicest people and their beautiful dog. They treated us like they had known us for years. The view is spectacular, six peaks is named after the six peaks you can see from the property. The tasting was $20 for 7 wines, which is very affordable. The best part was that $20 included a charcuterie tray and a dessert. Now that's a steal!!!! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!!
