On the Grid : Six Ping Bakery

"This small chain of Asian bakeries offers delicious breads, cookies, cakes and other treats. Enticing loaves and buns wrapped in cellophane line the shelves. They are stuffed with dreamy custards and creams and exotic fillings such as Taro, Green Tea, Red Bean and Mochi. We were intrigued by the Watermelon Toast and crab-shaped Super Q Kawaii Bread Crab Taro. Everything we tried was obviously baked fresh that day." - ph Design Shop

Six Ping Bakery in Houston’s Chinatown is a must-visit for fresh, affordable Asian pastries. They offer a huge variety—from pork floss buns to egg tarts—and everything is soft, flavorful, and reasonably priced. It’s mostly self-serve, which keeps things fast even when it’s busy. The real standout, though, is their taro cake. Made with real taro, it’s lightly sweet with a unique, rich texture that’s hard to find anywhere else. If you’re a taro lover, this alone is worth the trip. Whether you’re picking up a few snacks or stocking up, Six Ping delivers every time.

Looking for a great local Bakery? Check out Six Ping. They have a wide variety of desserts, breads, sweet, treats, to go around. From Japanese cheesecakes, mango cakes, breads, to almond cookies. They have a huge selection to choose from to feed your next sweet tooth craving. Made fresh daily! Service was friendly and helpful, showing us her favorites choice's. Just check out all the different varieties available in the pictures and videos. A bag of cookies was $4.25. To us this is priced right. You're able to stretch your dollar here and get plenty of choices. We will definitely be back for more. Until next time.

Really enjoyed stumbling across this places. They have such a wide array of breads to choose from, sweet and savory options as well. My favorite was the pandan cake. It was so unbelievably fluffy and not too sweet, which is my preference for sweets. Will be coming back to try their other breads

I mean. So much choices of fresh baked goodies. Conveniently located in the Asian mall where we ate, and shop. I tried different pastry choices and they were good! Service was quick and efficient. Clean and organized.

I purchased multiple products and i evaluate high for the most part. But i'm particular about filled-bread. I'm not expecting that little filling compared to the size of bread when i'm purchasing a filled-bread

Not sure why here so many not that good reviews. But if you gonna look at Houston bakeries variety, - nothing much suits my taster other than six ping. Variety unfortunately might not be always available. But if I am walking in to 85C, - this is so bad. I cannot find a thing I would like to eat. The only two bakeries in Flushing, NY and Chicago made me come back there. In Chicago it is in Korean plaza. Other than that it is impossible to eat. If you don't like what six ping makes, - then I have bad news for you, - you are sugar addict and craving for enormous amount of sugar in your desert. But deserts should be well balanced: enough sugar, enough butter, enough fruits and great presentation.
