How A Rock Star Opened Sixsa, a Korean Bibimbap Spot in Nice, France | Eater

"Founded by Sang Ah Nahm — a former lead singer of alt-rock band 3rd Line Butterfly who relocated to Nice, France — this establishment is the first traditional Korean restaurant on the French Riviera and is best known for Nahm’s classic bibimbap. Drawing on skills learned in her family kitchen in Korea, Nahm approaches cooking like music, developing familiar elements into her own style. Her bibimbap (literally “mix rice”) features a mix of vegetables — carrots, courgette, shiitake mushrooms, daikon, gosari, and chard — topped with marinated beef, an egg yolk, and finished with sesame seeds and sesame oil." - Terri Ciccone

"Sixsa" means "meal" in Korean, and you can certainly count on getting a fantastic meal at this place. The menu isn’t overwhelming, but you’ll definitely find something to suit your taste. We discovered this gem simply by walking past and were so glad we decided to step inside for a meal. The food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented, with generous portions that left us fully satisfied. The service was warm and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, Sixsa is an excellent choice. I highly recommend trying their bibimbap or bulgogi—both were standout dishes. A great spot for both solo diners and groups, this restaurant deserves a visit if you’re craving authentic Korean flavours. Highly recommended!"

I just found my favourite Korean restaurant in Nice! The homemade kimchi has the perfect balance and you can tell everything is made with love and dedication, definitely going back 🫶🏼

Me and my girlfriend had a really nice dinner at this place. The owner advices us to eat the food in the salad leaves and brought us more of them because we enjoyed it a lot. He even brought us more of the delicious miso sauce and was very kind and just pleasant to talk to. We had the kimchi and cucumber salad as starters. As the main dishes we had the Bulgogi and the Jeyuk Bokkeum. Both are delicious but the Bulgogi has a more distinguished taste because of the shitake shrooms.

We visited last year, and this restaurant was a 5/5, however it has declined in quality a bit since. They were completely sold out of most of their alcohol (all cocktails, flavoured soju) and the menu has decreased in size.

We had the kimchi pancakes, the kimchi and the cucumber for starters. Highly recommend the pancakes. Very flavourful. We then had the beef bibimbap with the hot sauce. It came in a traditional stone bowl so the rice became crispy at the end. Top. I was less of a fan of the dessert we ordered (sesame roll). Otherwise highly recommend. Make sure you book - we had a same day reservation but those who didn’t call ahead couldn’t get a table. The host is lovely!

Food was so delicious! The Bibimbap and the Bulgogi was amazing. The waiter is so nice and friendly. They speak English. The place is packed when we went there had to wait in line for a free table for two. But it was worth the wait 😍 One portion is enough for one person, I don't think it's enough to share with another person. LOVE ❤️

From the Korean visitor point of view, i would say food is authentic with healthy ingredients. You should definitely order japche for sure (my husband and i were stunned right after we had a first bite) Rest of the foods we ordered were 육개장 and 제육볶음, a bit spicy but could take them 😉

This is not a standard vegan restaurant but had a good amount of vegan options as starters. We combined three starters and a main dish for the dinner. As there was only one vegan main dish available as you just need to say to take the egg out. ( Kimchi Jeon, Japchae de Champignons, Gali Bokkeum, Dolsot Bibimbap) All of them was very delicious. The vegan options were not specifically marked in the menu; however, the staff was helpful to translate and pointed out the vegan possibilities. They also even suggested to make the starters to have bigger options as a dish size, so you will definitely leave the place with a full tummy. The waiters were friendly and spoke in English. For visitors who are vegan, certainly a highly-recommended place to go in Nice. We were very pleased with the taste of the food! The kitchen is close to the seating area, consider this point if you are bothered by a smell of animal products.
