Sizzle & Crunch - Review - Bellevue - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This casual Vietnamese spot that has locations in South Lake Union and the U-District has made its way to Bellevue, serving up dishes like pork belly vermicelli bowls and grilled tofu bánh mì. Keep an eye out for a Southcenter Mall outpost coming very soon, too. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

This was my first time eating here. The place was pretty clean inside. The staff had decent customer service. The best thing about this place is the food. Lots of sauces that complement the meals perfectly. I wish they had one of these where I worked. I’m only here for a few days, but I will eat here at least two more times.

Google
Got the grilled chicken rice bowl and was really impressed. Good meat portions and great flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked which is always a plus for me. Love that everything is made fresh right in front of you counter-service style. The ingredients taste super fresh and nothing felt processed or reheated. Quick service but the quality doesn't suffer at all. This place does Vietnamese street food right without being too fancy about it. Definitely coming back to try their banh mi next time.

Google
Sizzle and Crunch in Bellevue impressed me with its food, even though the experience started with a bit of a hiccup. There’s no free parking nearby, and you’ll need to go through the paid building garage to access the restaurant. Once inside, the food quality made up for it. Everything is made to order, and the ingredients tasted fresh. I did notice the food safety rating posted, which gave me a moment of pause, but it didn’t affect the overall flavor or experience. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating, and while the outdoor area may technically belong to the building, it was available and pleasant for dining. I appreciated the condiment station with peanuts and hot sauce as self-serve setups like that help keep the line moving and let you personalize your dish. Overall, a solid spot for a fast, flavorful meal if you’re in the area. JY review

I didn't expect much from this place next to my hotel, but I was floored with how good it was. For the price, its an absolute steal! The bowls are super good, and I highly recommend a visit. Better than many restaurants in the area. The only thing bad to say was the milk tea was awful! I couldn't drink more than a few sips. Quite expensive compared to the food too.

Google
I first had the U District Sizzle&Crunch and loved the broken rice with marinated meats! The sauces are delicious and the added lettuce, other greens and vegetables plus cucumbers make you feel you’re eating a healthier meal. They give such good portions! Aka Chipotle but Vietnamese bowls. It’s probably not authentic Vietnamese but it’s more like a guilty pleasure visit. The service was great! The restaurant was very spacious, tall ceilings and most importantly, clean! Drinks are extremely sweet which isn’t for me but if it’s your thing, by all means, get the sweet drinks

Google
I was worried about the portions but they did not disappoint! I always get extra meat when I go to the restaurants and under the vegetables there is a generous portion of chicken and beef. I made my own bowl and I gotta say this is one of the best spots in Bellevue for lunch right now. The meat is tender and flavorful and the vegetables make this bowl feel refreshing and healthy while still being super flavorful. Tip: get an extra side of the cilantro sauce it’s fire 🔥

Google
Great value at $12 plus tax for a bowl, especially in downtown Bellevue. I was a bit skeptical that the taste wouldn't be authentically Vietnamese but it's reasonable given their chipotle like format and price. The grilled proteins have charcoal smokiness and the fish sauce is good. The only thing really lacking is that the carrot topping isn't pickled like the traditional Vietnamese carrot and Daikon slaw. I also wish they had an option to add a spring roll to combos.

Ordered the steak salad for dinner with a Jasmin milk tea. I liked the salad, the steak had a char flavor which was great, and the portion was decent. I felt that the tea was a bit too watery for my liking though and I didn’t see an option to select the ice level when I ordered online, though I was able to customize the sweetness. the order was prepared quickly. Note that it can be a little tricky to park while picking up.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service, and they give you pretty big size portions. I had an issue with my last order and they told me the next time I came back, they would make things right. I didn't think they would remember me, but the manager (I assume) immediately recognized me and personally took care of me. Note that they get really busy during lunch hours so I would advise ordering ahead for pick-up.

Yelp
Think Chipotle...but make it Vietnamese. Fast-casual bowls, lots of customization, and you're in and out without committing to a whole life story with the menu. I got the vermicelli bowl with pork, and it was filling without making me feel like I needed a nap afterwards. Fresh veggies, good textures, and the fish sauce was on point--savory, balanced, and doing the heavy lifting flavor-wise. The creamy cilantro sauce, however, was not my personal vibe. Service was quick and genuinely friendly, which always earns bonus points. Overall, it's a great go-to for a casual, healthy-ish meal that doesn't require overthinking.

Yelp
Ambiance is good. Noise level is average and there's a lot of seating for dine in. House pork plate (4/5): so yummy. It was really flavorful. The green sauce had a good kick. The beef was tender but the smoky flavor was a bit much. I loved the chicken though. The salad was good too. Tap to pay is accepted. Service is quick and the line moves at a good pace. Overall, Sizzle&Crunch is a good place.

Yelp
Sizzle and Crunch bring me back to my college days. I remember when they first opened in U-District and the crazy line out the door to get a yummy Chipotle-style Vietnamese rice bowl (or banh mi) topped with fried egg and their iconic green sauce (cilantro mayo). They have since expanded to South Lake Union and now Bellevue. My friend and I were excited to visit their Bellevue location for the first time on a weekday evening a couple of weeks ago. The new Sizzle and Crunch in Bellevue has street parking and I believe parking in the adjacent apartment building, but don't quote me on that because I didn't park in there. The inside is clean and modern with 10-15 booths/tables. My friend ordered their Pork Bowl ($14.99) and I ordered a Build Your Own Vermicelli bowl with half salad/half vermicelli, grilled chicken ($11.99), vegetables, egg (+$1.99), and green sauce. With tax and tip, my total came to $17.71. The grilled chicken was just as phenomenal as I remember- super well-marinated, sweet, savory, and perfectly charred. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. However, I have to say that I remember portions being larger in U-District as I used to barely be able to finish a bowl on my own. Eggs were also half the price 5 years ago ($1), but with the egg inflation, I'm not surprised that an egg costs $2 now. While I like that they have vermicelli noodles as a base option now, I wish they offered brown rice as an option. The green sauce was also fantastic, but I wish they gave you more of it as well as sides of fish sauce or soy sauce as there just wasn't enough sauce for the bowl. Another downside is that even if you order for here, they give you plastic takeout containers which seem like a waste to the environment, especially because they're not compostable. I would love it if they switched to real bowls or at least compostable paper bowls. Also, other than putting your bowl together, there isn't really any service involved as you bus yourself at the end of your meal. Tables and floor are clean. They were also quite busy for a weekday night. Overall: 3/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 3.5/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
I been to their other location in Seattle so was very excited to see they have a location on the Eastside now! Parking can be hard as it's mostly street parking. I ordered online right at 11 and the food was ready within 20 minutes. They were already busy by the time I was there though. A lot of online takeout orders were in the queue. It can get loud if people actually come to dine in. I got the vermicelli bowl and the rice bowl both with pork. The rice is probably the better one in my opinion as the Cilantro cream sauce was really yummy and they use broken rice as their base. Both dishes were good though. Fresh and hefty. Overall, Im happy they have a location here and will be back for sure.

Yelp
They always give a lot of protein and topping! I love all the vegetable topping options. The green sauce is delicious! Their beef is also very yummy. You pick base, protein, then toppings, just like Chipotle.

Yelp
- Food is great, longer wait during meal time - This place is popular and a lot of tech ppl working in downtown Bellevue come here for lunch (mostly takeout), so the wait is quite crazy and the line is usually super long. I ordered through Ubereats 10 minutes before 12, and they really made me wait for 40 minutes for the food lol. I can't blame them, the line basically maintained the same length if not longer. Plus tons of people ordered takeout as well. Note that they don't update you when the order is ready, so you have to check with them constantly for your order status. This is our second time here, and we ordered the beef sirloin steak vermicelli bowl and the salad bowl. I also got the Jasmine milk tea, and regret it since it's quite watery. I'd recommend skipping the drinks here since they fill the cup with ice first, so you really don't get much from here. Plus it's not even good... I don't know, maybe the Vietnamese coffee is okay since they fill the cup with tons of ice everywhere. Their main dishes are always good and balanced, so just get your meal here and skip the drinks. Be prepared for a longer wait time during lunch on weekdays, and you will be good.

Yelp
Amazing food with good portion. A relatively healthy, fresh, and flavorful option. Price was great for this set up too. I really enjoyed it as a workday quick dinner. Will definitely come back and try more

Yelp
So glad Sizzle & Crunch has made a home in Bellevue, making this one of my favorite lunch spots! Sizzle & Crunch serves delicious, casual Vietnamese eats that you can easily customize, satisfying your craving while getting exactly what you want or don't want. My colleagues and I tried coming here soon after it opened and the line was out the door during the lunch hour on a Friday, so yeah, it wasn't gonna happen. But then I tried again on a different Friday and had much better luck. There was a line, but I didn't wait too long as it goes by pretty quickly. There's some seating inside, but noticed a lot of people were getting takeout instead of dining inside for lunch, so it may not be too difficult to find a seat here. And since it's a casual eatery, you order and pay for your food with the staff at the counter. I ordered the house pork special with a half and half base of salad and rice with the grilled pork, pork belly and all the usual toppings of carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapenos, a fried egg and that cilantro sauce that is delicious! At the counter, they also have small cases of sriracha, chili oil and fish sauce for your order that you can take. The house pork special was delicious, with that grilled pork meat and veggies that were light and added some crunch, which is what I love about Vietnamese food. The lightness from the crispy veggies always brings it all together! I would happily order this again, but everything on the menu looked good, like the slurping noodles or banh mi. I shall be back.

Yelp
Got AWFUL food poisoning after having the pork belly on a rice salad bowl. Based on other reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one and their poor sanitation from other locations came along for the ride. They recommended pork belly, but when they pulled it out it was floppy, stringy and pale so I almost changed my mind. I hate wasting money on shitty food, even worse when it makes you sick. I dined in, and didn't have much else to eat that day that could be a higher risk of food poisoning, so 99% sure this was the cause. The whole setup is build as you go, like Chipotle, so EVERYTHING could be kept at the wrong temperature. Service was lackluster as well. Deadpan response to asking for a recommendation as a first timer, and got an annoyed "it's going" when asking the cashier how they were. It was 4PM and literally empty, not a busy lunch rush. My husband works in the building for Amazon and has never been, but mentioned I should try while in Bellevue. He will be warning coworkers to stay away.

Yelp
Quick Bahn mis for the go. It's got a chipotle-like vibe factory line to build your own sandwich or bowl. We got 3 of their fully loaded everything on it BB specials that filled up our party of 3 for just over 50$. Overall the food is tasty but the ingredients in the containers don't look that enticing, and the tables were dirty both times we went. Good for a quick bite but could improve on some areas.

Yelp
I loved this place!!! The food is so good!! I got a grilled pork vermicelli bowl and it was awesome! My coworker got the banh mi and also said it was fantastic! The food is priced well. I don't think you can get tastier food for a better price in Bellevue (downtown at least). My bowl was $12 and my coworkers banh mi was $9. Because the food is chipotle/subway style of building your meal as you go across a counter, you get your food quickly too! Perfect place for a work lunch and can't wait to come back! I've been waiting for this place to open and have been to their UW location before. So glad they are in Bellevue now!!! Interior is clean with lots of tables so plenty of places to eat on site, but the food comes in to go containers so you could easily grab and go!

Yelp
Sizzle & Crunch was my go-to takeout spot on the ave while I was living in U District during college. I used to go here every week! I was so excited to see a location in Bellevue now that I live on the east side. There is a nearby parking garage, but they did not validate parking as of May 2025 and it's not easy to find other nearby parking. As for the food, everything tasted just as I remembered. The restaurant is a counter service, Chipotle, build your own style. You can get a banh mi, rice bowl, salad, or vermicelli noodle bowl. I love being able to choose exactly which toppings and they were very generous with the portions. I'm not eating meat right now, so I got the tofu in my rice bowl and it was pretty good. I wish they fried their tofu extra crispy and tossed it in sauce. It's more of a braised style. My bf got the beef and he said it was tasty. I would recommend the grilled pork if you can't decide though, because it's the best!Overall, the bowls have classic Vietnamese flavors in a convenient to eat format. The restaurant had a good amount of seating, but we ended up taking the food to go and eating at Bellevue Square Park on a nice sunny evening. Will definitely go again and I want to try their drinks next time!

Yelp
A huge addition to the lunch options in downtown Bellevue, and luckily it's only a block from my apartment. I've been anxiously waiting for the opening ever since I saw the signage for it on the building. I've gone several times since it has opened, mostly for lunch. Note that it gets VERY busy during lunch, and the line may be long. However, the line tends to move quickly. If you don't want to wait, I recommend just going after the lunch rush or for dinner. I've gotten various rice bowls, doing my best to try to different protein options. The grilled beef and the pork belly are my favorites - they tend to be the most tender. I then appreciate the accompanying chopped lettuce, pickled carrots, charred green onions, cilantro sauce, and crushed peanut topping. It all creates a very fun rice bowl with varying flavors and textures that, when combined, create some very enjoyable bites. I did happen to try their Thai Tea once, and would not recommend. Maybe it was my mistake getting Thai Tea at a Vietnamese fast-casual restaurant, but it was way too sweet. Pricing is great given it's in downtown Bellevue. I usually pay under $15 for my rice bowls, and their portions are more than enough to fill me up. It's well worth the price. This spot is located across from the Hyatt Regency in Amazon's two new buildings. There's some street parking along 106th Ave, and there are some retail garages in the surrounding buildings. The interior is very casual, with several small tables that could fit 2-4 people at most. I wouldn't recommend coming here with a large group. I appreciate having such a delicious, quick, and affordable option near me - would definitely recommend as a lunch option.

Yelp
Absolutely love love love this spot. The portions are HUGE and the flavors are great! I love that they don't skimp or get stingy. Love the grilled chicken thighs with the green sauce and a drizzle of fish sauce as well. The staff are very nice and there's plenty of seating inside.

Yelp
Finally, a Sizzle & Crunch location on the Eastside! They are still at their soft opening phase so you can tell that they're still fine-tuning things. I came here on a Saturday to grab some lunch. Street parking is available nearby. Upon entering the store, the store had a similar layout like Chipotle. Instructions are displayed on the menu where you build your own bowl. I decided to get something healthy and got the salad bowl with chicken for the protein. For the toppings, I got one of each veggie items along with their sauces. Overall, the bowl was delicious! They filled the bowl with generous portions of meats. The ingredients were fresh and tasted similar to their other branches in Seattle. This will be my go-to Asian Chipotle whenever I needed something healthy. I haven't tried their rice/noodle version yet but I'm sure it will be delicious!

Yelp
The Beef Sirloin Banh Mi was bland, dry, and overpriced at $12.97. The bread was stale and dry. It didn't resemble anything close to a Vietnamese baguette with the beloved thin, crispy French-style baguette with an airy interior like you expect from a typical banh mi. It was not even as good as sandwich bread from a grocery store bakery. There's no option to add the typical pickled vegetables like the tangy-sweet mix of pickled carrots and daikon radish provides a refreshing crunch. The sliced carrots are just regular carrots with no added flavor or seasoning. Could barely eat half the Banh Mi because it was nasty--worst banh mi ever. It didn't have any authentic Vietnamese taste or flavors. Very disappointing and would not recommend this place.

Nick S.

Yelp
The girl with tattoos on her arm.. with a beanie..maybe pink hair. If someone like this is making your sandwich, just walk out. While I'm watching, this girl swipes the dirty counter with her right hand, shoves that hand right into the lettuce bucket and spreads them right on my sandwich. I was speechless. She seems like there's absolutely nothing wrong. She didn't make eye contacts, no hello, no thank you no nothing. And that's totally fine. But you DO NOT mess with customer's food. I can't imagine how many more people had to eat unhygienic food unknowingly. I only used to go to this place because of the close location from my office, but HELL NAH. Never again.

Yelp
Parking wasn't hard to find, but it is $4 for 30 minutes and $8 for an hour. Luckily I asked them about validation and they have these paper barcodes for a free 30 minutes and so I was able to get a discount. Online pictures made it seem like it was a dine in place but it really was fast vietnamese food like chipotle and poke where you go down the line and make different combinations. We got their special banh mi and slurping noodles and then I made my own rice with grilled beef, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, cilantro, green onions, a sunny side up egg and green sauce, which I highly recommend. Since the to go boxes were really full, which I'm thankful of, the food was kind of hard to eat without making a mess, especially the noodles because they were really stuck together and you had to pick it apart. I also couldn't find a plastic knife to cut my banh mi in half so I just tore it. At the very end of the meal, since we were the only ones that sat down and everyone else got it to go, it wasn't very intuitive whether we were supposed to clean up after ourselves because the trash cans were tucked away by the entrance. If I worked in the area, this definitely would be a place I come for lunch every so often though. Decent and the people are kind.

Yelp
This is such a secret spot! My friend recommended it to me and I LOVE IT. Recommend adding an egg to your bowl and extra green sauce! Also their Thai tea is bomb

Yelp
Friendly staff and nice seating area. Good portion size and value, food is very fresh. Highly recommend for a quick healthy meal!

Yelp
Don't open a fast food place if you can't provide good service when it's busy. It was my first time and they didn't make my banh mi as I asked and then rushed me out the door and refused to correct my order. Skip this location as they have little patience for someone new to their restaurant experience. They slap these banh mi's together like a bad owner slaps their dogs food in the bowl.

Yelp
It was pretty good, not sure that I would come here again. To be honest, the food did not really feel Vietnamese at all. I got a bowl with rice, chicken and a bunch of toppings but it was just grilled chicken without a lot of flavor. The cilantro sauce was good but I wish they put more. For the price, I would honestly just go to chipotle.

Yelp
I am addicted to this place! I can't believe people take one star off for the wait. First of all, it has the fastest line I've ever seen in this country. Yes, a ton of people flock here for lunch, because it's ridiculously tasty, but the line moves FAST. I've since changed my lunchtime just so I can come before or after the rush because it's torture to wait even 3 minutes to chomp into their Bahn Mi's. Seating and tables are so comfy, but I usually just take it my to my condo, across the road. The staff are super eager to greet you, take your order, fix your food, and check you out. If all that wasn't enough, it's hands-down the best price for any Bahn Mi in this area, let alone the absolute hands-down tastiest. Don't forget the pack of complimentary peanuts on the way out! My only complaint is that there isn't drone service to drop on my patio and that they aren't in my building. lol.

Felicia Y.

Yelp
Tasty food, fast and efficient, a great grab and go lunch that's both healthy and delicious. Get the house recommended toppings and you won't go wrong -- their sauce is especially delish.

Eric G.

Yelp
I ordered 2 of the Grilled Pork Banh Mi sandwiches. Both with extra pork, cilantro and jalapeños. One sandwich had all the Banh Mi ingredients and the other had only vegetables and mayo sauce. Very disappointed as I am not a vegetarian.
