LA Steakhouse Chain Sizzler Declares Bankruptcy Because of Coronavirus | Eater LA

"I learned that Sizzler, one of Los Angeles’s most storied restaurant franchises, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, a move the company says is “a direct result of the financial impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the casual dining sector.” Based in Orange County, it currently operates 107 locations; the company owns 14 corporate restaurants (the bankruptcy filing applies specifically to those) while the other 93 are franchises. Sales had been declining before the pandemic, and with malls and other gathering areas closed, customers shifting to delivery, local restaurants, and cooking at home, and ongoing issues with landlords and high overhead costs, the chain has struggled to cover costs; it says it will seek to renegotiate leases, expects to reach agreements with a majority of landlords, and is confident most restaurants will remain open, though it remains unclear how many locations will return. Founded more than 60 years ago in Culver City by Del and Helen Johnson, Sizzler built its reputation on inexpensive steaks and a family-friendly buffet format." - Farley Elliott

In my opinion this place is a bit overpriced for the type of food you're getting. I haven't been here for a while and was confused about how limited the menu is now. What happened to the lunch specials and the side salad add-on? They only offer an unlimited salad bar option which is $9. Sizzler has definitely seen better days. I don't see them competing with any other restaurants in this bracket

We ordered two adult entrees with salad bars, plus three kids’ salad bars. The entree portions were pretty small (steak & shrimp, ribs & chicken). The salad bar was good as there were three stations: salad (greens, toppings, fruit), hot food (meatballs, spaghetti, taco bar, fried chicken wings), and soups/dessert (ice cream, cones, toppings, custard, jello). Next time we would probably do salad bar only, as it seems to be better value. Bathrooms were not the cleanest but ok. Free parking but the lot wasn’t big. The wait wasn’t long when we arrived around 11:30am on a Saturday morning, b but there was a long line when we left around 1pm.

Waitress & food was amazing. (We are leaving a generous tip. She deserves) Unfortunately some gentleman named Daryl was awful with the service since as soon as we entered to order-pay he was already giving us difficulty... Husband came in for our young sons to have a quick dinner before we continue our 3-hour drive. I specifically told Daryl immediately that it was only going to be two meals. My husband wanted it to enjoy a beer and possibly an appetizer. We weren't not hungry. When one of our son wanted to add a salad to his Ribs combo meal. Daryl raised his voice looked at him and say "you order the salad you eat the salad" and immediately looked at my husband and said "you don't get to eat the salad" When our other son ordered his burger. I clearly told Daryl to make it a plain crispy bacon burger, because I know my son he does not like sauce or anything on it. I admired my husband's composure after I witnessed the way Daryl talked to him fortunately for Daryl my husband is a very patient gentleman. Husband paid, we waited, food arrived and unfortunately the burger did not come plain. When I went over to remind Daryl that the burger have been ordered plain, he refused to own up his mistake and tried to blame the cook by saying "oh they must have blah blah blah" I immediately stopped him by showing him his mistake he then proceeded to say; "okay I'll have them remake it"

My first time at this chain. It’s adequate at best. I had the chicken, steak and shrimp trio. Imagine you went to the dollar store and bought your ingredients and then cooked it at home as best you can - this is basically what they served. I didn’t have the salad bar but it looked ok. Service was good and the waiter was very helpful and friendly. Interior is clean. Total cost with tip was $36. Not worth it.

Google
My uncle enjoys the steaks as Sizzler. The burger wasn’t that good. However, they have tasty fries and a really good salad bar. The staff were friendly and attentive. The floor was a bit sticky and soup bar area needed attention.

Google
Salad bar was great.Took a friend for her birthday waitress made upon ice cream treat for her when the ice cream machine was broken. Very thoughtful of her.

Google
Prices are good, food was served fast and the steak cooked just right. That crunchy buttery toast was incredible and brought back memories for me instantly. I would go to Sizzler when they were in Oregon and Washington but most of the locations there have closed I think. I was happy to enjoy the Sizzler experience again!

Google
This is by far the worst Sizzler we have ever been to. The food was so bad I sent it back and just asked for a refund, I never do that. Parking is easy in their lot. The place is not clean enough to my standards. The bathrooms were very clean. The salad bar was so boring. Other Sizzlers have a nice selection. This was not. We walked into order, you order right when you walk in. There is not a huge menu like other Sizzlers. I ordered a burger rare and I was very clear about rare. I was asked if I wanted fries or a baked potato. I thought those were my only choices, I ordered the baked potato with no sour cream. My husband ordered a steak rare and was shown side choices that I was never offered on a little card near where you stand at the counter. He ordered a baked potato. I had no idea they also had garlic mashed and a few others. I did not want to confuse so I let it go. Really bad way to market. We went in and found a booth which needed my napkin to clean it. It had already been their idea of clean. Not mine. A server came by took our receipt and asked if we wanted some garlic bread. It never came. Our food arrived and my burger was medium well. Gross. My baked potato was filled with sour cream. I tasted my burger and though I am not eating this. I sent it back to have it and the potato done right. My husbands steak was medium. He just ate it. He was not thrilled. My food came back and again the burger was overcooked. The baked potato had no softness to it. And where is that bread. Not coming, ever. I tried to eat this way over cooked burger and I was done. I sent it back and said just take it off the bill. No one came to say sorry, our server sort of disappeared off the planet. My husband was bummed because he knew I would not be having dinner at all. Oh well. I was so disappointed. I will never go back and again not one person came to say we messed up, sorry. Nothing. Stay away.

Yelp
Came here to meet a few former coworkers to see how they have been, get caught up on old times and new. We all ordered a shrimp skewers came with one side as well as a salad bar that we can go back to over and over. And while there was no one customer service all-star, the servers have been here for many many years, and all worked as a team on most tables, including our own. All in all a good time, as the food was solid and the salad bar was kept nice and tidy. And based on what we've seen at some other sizzlers in the past, that saying a lot.

Yelp
A bunch of friends and I like to get together at this Sizzler every few weeks. We really enjoy the cheesy bread and the abundance of open seating available. The parking is really easy and there are always spaces. Here are some things that I find management can do much better about: The hostess that works on Wednesday afternoon/early evening could absolutely use some more training. She doesn't know then menu well, doesn't offer selections appropriately and seems to get easily frustrated. I had not been to Sizzler in YEARS. So much has changed, so when I asked questions she is relatively unhelpful. On one evening I ordered the steak, and it was delicious! It is actually one of my favorite steaks and I often crave it now! The kitchen staff honestly does such a great job. I am not sure if I will do the salad bar again though, as it is $20 for just the bar and often messy and/or out of options. I love the option of self seating, and we really appreciate that this venue is large enough to host bigger groups. We tend to need to largest table every time we visit and the service is often great. Again, I think the hostess does a huge disservice to customers who seek more assistance with selections, especially if someone is new to Sizzler. During my experience as a new-ish customer, I think it would have made me much more excited about my dining experience if the instructions were clear about getting your own drink, the tip system (you can add the tip when paying with your card and the hostess gives you cash for the server), menu selection options/recommendations, etc. A little enthusiasm would be the cherry on top--but I may be asking too much at this point, lol. Hope this is helps!

Yelp
Ok, it's a Sizzler and I haven't been to one in years and for what it is, it's truly A-OK. The parking is split into two and you order first before getting a seat. You can choose from steaks and entrees or go for the salad bar. The salad bar includes salads, a few soup options, spaghetti and meatballs, friend chicken wings, corn dog bites, and hard shell tacos. Pretty basic but if that's what you are looking for, it's there for you. The food was all pretty good. Nothing to write home about but also nothing to hate on. Finish it off with some soft serve or banana pudding and you are set. The service was super friendly and I felt like I was visiting a friend's place and had great uncles and aunts helping out. For ~$20, it feels a bit pricey but cheap when you compare it to other restaurants now.

Yelp
We came here on a Tuesday night and it was good. We got the steak and herb chicken plate with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, my friend and I shared one. My other also got the same thing and he added the salad bar. They have a lot of selections for the salad bar from fried green beans to soup and even dessert. We love the garlic bread they provide. It tastes so good. The service was good and fast. The ambience is super chill. They have a lot of parking which is great.

Yelp
Great service up front, and the servers were very attentive when waiting our tables, I came closer to closing so the salad bar wasn't that stocked but everything tasted decent, I remember the salad bar being better back then but they had alright choices could have more but I guess they scaled back due to today's economy

Yelp
We decided to take my aunt to sizzlers for her 89th Birthday, we all have fawn memories of her taking us as children after church. The staff greeted all of us very well we had a party of about 20 people at different times the staff was very accommodating they allowed us to have the back section without prior reservations. Our server took very good care of us making sure we had enough of everything. My aunt got her favorite the Rib dinner and salad bar I also got the salad bar which was well stocked for dessert my sister had brought a cake by the time we were ready to cut the cake the server was coming around the corner with a few other workers singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY we all were surprised because no one had told the server to do they they presented my aunt with a large Birthday Ice Cream Sundae my aunt was so happy. We all had an excellent time I highly recommend this location.

Yelp
I used to go to this place ever so often when they had locations on the East Coast while driving down Sepulveda Boulevard I happen to notice a very familiar logo. I just had to go inside and eat a meal and go back so many childhood memories of service was amazing. The ambience welcome to your hunger in a way that you knew you were leaving satisfied can't wait to go back home and tell people about this place all over again. They'll probably think I'm lying. But I got the pics to prove it. Thanks for such an amazing blast to the past.

Yelp
We threw a baby shower here and it was fabulous. For 25.00 we were able to reserve the cordened off back part and MGR Havvie and the team really provided excellent service. He accommodated our group and really worked with me. He did not treat us like criminals and all of us have nothing but respect. We ordered the salad bars and drinks for everyone, it was a huge ticket but I wanted to give my business to Sizzler. It was between them and Beppo or Olive Garden. I'm so glad we came here and would come again for the warm treatment clean Ambiance...Sizzler don't skimp on the Salar Bar we all grew up on keep it fresh and vibrant as you have.

Yelp
I took advantage of the salad bar, all you could eat plus they offered tacos fried chicken and spaghetti and soup also dessert bar soda bar. Great!

Yelp
My lunch was terrible, the soup was cold, the chicken wings were cold, and I don't know if they changed the cheese bread but it was awful to. In all fairness to the bread....it could have just been my taste buds because since I had covid, my taste buds have changed. But for the soup, potatoes and chicken wings to be cold, it was ridiculous. My neighbor took me here for my birthday but in all honesty, I haven't been to sizzler in at least six years. They really gotta do better...

Yelp
Havent been to this location in decades.Felt nostalgic,so I thought Id grab a to go meal. The selection was poor, with corn tots, chicken wings and little else. The desert bar was some pudding, soup low and non avaiable. The floors around the salad bar sticky, reminded me of the DTLA theaters from the 70's.Felt it may have been a bad or slow day,but I dont think Ill return unless I decide to SIT and eat.Hopefully, thats a better deal as paying $16 bucks u would think it would be decent. The front cashier was helpful and pleasant

Mandy C.

Yelp
Been going to this location intermittently throughout the years, but recently started going back due to a good deal on food. The deal is good, and the food tastes good. Service though is an entirely different story and the reason why I rated this so low. The manager is wonderful and very helpful. The staff working inside of the kitchen are also great. Everyone else, no. There's a noticeable lack of common decency. None of them say hi or bye. It's as if they've never heard of professionalism and courtesy. If they do interact, they're quite rude. I would recommend going here only for the food. But there are other Sizzler locations that are much better than this.

Yelp
Well this was supposed to be a great happy day for our loved ones bday. As we were ordering and trying to finalize our order. When BRISA O. was giving us our plates and stuff we noticed we didn't have enough cups for our drinks. So we asked if we can have the others we ordered. A when we said that she "Oh that's why I repeated it twice ! " with attitude and mind you the manager was right next to her ! At least the manager was kind and gave us our cups. But if I was the manger I would teach BRISA how to take a step back and take a breath if she's irritated by the customers. Which everyone knows there's a lot.

Mah M.

Yelp
I ordered pickup items, including two baked potatoes. unbelievably, they cut one baked potato in half and wrapped two halves in aluminum foil. Sadly, adding insult to injury that was cold. Horrible experience.

Yelp
I love and have always loved sizzlers this location is the best one . Clean and never disappoints on the food . The place is quiet n friendly . Service is good.

Yelp
Sizzler is going to always be Sizzler! Nothing but the classics here. Once or twice a year, I need my Malibu chicken and salad bar fix. Today was the day and they never disappoint. Service was fine. Always glad to see that Carlos is still there. Checked in with him today and found out that he's been there for 39 years. He's a true legend and always so pleasant when you see him. Booths were clean, overall appearance of the place was nice. No complaints.

Yelp
Inexpensive but decent. I got the rib steak, medium rare. It was cooked correctly, juicy tender and at least 12 ounces. The salad bar was also good. There is a large selection which includes small chicken wings. The bill for two of us was around $60, not including the tip.

Yelp
I hadn't been to a Sizzler in years, but every year they send me a birthday offer for $5 off an entree so I finally decided to use it this year. Javier, who I assume is the manager, was so nice and welcoming. He invited me to sit down inside the dining room while I waited for my take out order. It was opening time and more people were starting to come in. The place was very clean and organized. The salad bar along with the hot station, soup station, and dessert station looked good. It now costs $17. Besides Javier, one of the servers also kept me updated on my order. I was very impressed with the very friendly and outgoing service. By the way, the cheese toast is just as tasty as I remember.

Yelp
We had our sister's retirement luncheon at this location for 60+ guest. The manager GG was absolutely amazing and available prior to the event and the day of the event. Out server Ana was incredible, she made sure that we had everything that we needed, she was a people person that greeted us will a smile. The food was fresh, hot, and well stocked. The area that we had the event in was private and away from the other guest we were able to decorate, allowing us to come early to do so. Thanks again to the amazing staff that serviced us for this joyous occasion.

Barbara S.

Yelp
On March 29, 2025, I gave a Retirement Party for my sister. The manager Gigi Bauman was fantastic. She helped me set up everything. It was beautiful and my sister was very happy. The food was delicious and the salad bar stayed refilled. The waitress Ana was great, all of the guest were very please with her. We will definitely be back to sizzler, culver city Thank you again for making my sister event special she loved everything

Leslie S.

Yelp
Excellent salad bar!! Fresh and clean!! All sorts of pasta salads, fresh fruit, veggies. Well stocked. Our waiter, Guy, takes great care of us each time we visit!! He brings extra napkins, coffee refills, and our food arrives hot and accurate. My husband's grilled shrimp was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Our steaks were juicy and cooked to order. The dessert bar at the end hit the spot!! Looking forward to our next visit!! Thank you!!

Edgar G.

Yelp
I couldn't help but recognize the amazing customer service in this place! To my luck i was able to catch the cashier's name since she didn't have a name tag. BRISA you were amazing!! Not only were you hilarious and made my kids love you but you were patient and received a warm welcome. you took your time to help my big family out with any questions & handled everything in a professional manner. My server was excellent! CAROLINA you were amazing by providing us with every necessity we needed. Alway smiling through out the restaurant and a positive attitude.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I recently visited Sizzler and overall it was an OK experience. The food was decent not bad but nothing particular or memorable.the portions were fair. There was a good variety, but the flavors didn't really stand out.

Joanna M.

Yelp
The one star is for the food. The waiter was very kind. The food bar was super messy and the soups were pretty much empty. There was hardly any salad dressing, I felt like I was scrapping the bottom for some. I was very disappointed. I wouldn't have written a review if it wasn't for what happened next. About an hour later as Im driving home I start getting really bad stomachache. I almost didn't make it home. It was super painful and making loud sounds. Like I literally had sweat dripping down my forehead as I'm rushing to make it home. I felt like I was part of that movie Bridesmaid when they all got sick from eating bad food. Thank goodness I made it home. Shortly there after, my son said he had a really bad stomachache and had to go as well.

Yelp
I had not been to a sizzler in years. We don't have one close to where I live, but last time I was traveling, we came across sizzler and decided to stop. Ordered the salad bar, and although we ate until we were full, the topping choices in the salad bar were a little lacking. For example, there was no broccoli or mushrooms. So the salad part of the salad bar was pretty average although it tasted OK for what it was. While we were up getting our food, a waitress brought a basket with two pieces of garlic bread to the table and it was very good and I kind of wished we had more of that. They also offered a taco bar and spaghetti and a little area with chicken wings and potato wedges as well soup and a couple of desserts. I pretty much tried a little bit of everything other than the spaghetti and soup, the taco was kind of odd though because I thought the meat tasted more like it went with the spaghetti than with the taco but again I wasn't expecting high-end Mexican food so I was fine with it. Dessert ended up being one of the highlights because we got soft-serve ice cream and lots of toppings, including little churros. We were both so full we were miserable, but as in traditional sizzler style, that's what you do I guess lol The employees that we dealt with were nice so all in all it was a pretty good experience, even with the limited salad toppings. Adding to my overall rating is that even though the restaurant wasn't crowded at all, a man came and sat a booth down from us and blew his nose several times during his meal, which was kind of gross. I know that doesn't really count for the food or the service, but unfortunately, kind of set a negative tone.

Yelp
Great location, outstanding parking wonderful staff variety of foods You can celebrate anything on any occasion. The worst is the restroom and unreasonable restroom stalls for small people sink is ridiculous it's dirty uncomfortable feels like a homeless disgusting restroom Smells like a sewer just nasty for that reason along it's not worth it especially if management expects staff to use this facility the health department should shut this down or give it a F after 30 years with no upgrades or improvements to the restroom doesn't make any sense It's ridiculous for that amount of customers to service employees & customers to occupancy the restaurant, can you imagine staff have to deal with that smell every day they just don't care you will think your in a underground sewer l would never ever eat there even if it was free it will be closing sooner than later quite disgusting for a restaurant

Ita S.

Yelp
Their food is served burnt , service is slow and will not return, go to shakeys. Establishment is dirty.
google avatar

Thomas K.

Yelp
The Sizzler salad bar is now back opened after a long wait due to covid! Get the chicken to making your salad and loading it up with your favorite taco meat. The prices are higher, service is less, and selection is reduced. Go before 3 pm and get a lunch rate vs dinner.
google avatar

Reyna N.

Yelp
Maria was servicing our table on August 2nd, 2024. She was great. She was checking in, asking if we needed anything, making sure we had enough water, and picking up our used plates frequently. Very attentive.
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
The salad bar had very fresh items and was clean and well-stocked. I found it odd that they began breaking down the salad dressing area 45 minutes before closing making it difficult to get the dressings and some salad bar items. I would have given a better rating if not for that.

Camille B.

Yelp
Strictly for nostalgia reasons is why I go here. The same vibe as I was a kid... I get to share that experience with my kids. Food is basic, the staff and service are generally nice. Decent place

Yelp
I ordered the rib eye (medium) which was over cooked, tough, and tasted bad. The food was also barely warm when brought to the table. I also got the salad bar with was pathetic (compared to what it used to be). The food that was supposed to be kept hot was barely warm as well. And sadly, the salad bar was the best tasting part of my meal and that was barely edible. At the desert bar, the Jello looked old and dry. The vanilla pudding looked like it was regurgitated and what I think was supposed to be whipped cream looked like curdled cottage cheese. It was the most unappetizing meal I have ever had. Needless to say, I didn't finish my food. And worst of all, I had such a bad aftertaste for quite some time afterwards. I would NOT suggest wasting your time or money here. I certainly will never go back! Huge disappointment!!!

Carolyn R.

Yelp
I've been going to this location for several years. Before Covid-19 the food was great since Covid-19 not so much. You never know what you are going to get. I loved their wings and ribs but sometimes the wigs look like they were from yesterday. My most favorite thing from there was there banana pudding but over time it has changed. They show a beautiful pic of it on their website but that is not what you get. Their photo on the left. What I received on the right. There were two thin slices of banana at the bottom. This is the fourth time I've ordered this year and one out of four was a good pudding with lots of bananas. Also, the pudding I received has no flavor. Gonna try Culver City

Yelp
Service was good. As for the food : the burger was nothing special but good. I was really excited about the lobster but it was very bland . The steak and potatoes were perfect . The mango lemonade reminded me of Tampico , delicious! As for the menu it was smaller than I thought it would, I would definitely recommend adding the salad bar it's like a mini buffet and you can add to certain meals for just $8 only. Without a meal it's $16 . You get unlimited options like salad nachos chicken dessert etc.
google avatar

Dee R.

Yelp
It restaurant was nice but the restroom was hilarious. To be in a nice area you would expect the restroom to be worthy to use. The stall I was in you couldn't lock the door and then to go wash yours hands...the hand soap was in a ice cream cup

C G.

Yelp
A friend and I went to this location in Culver City after leaving the mall. We were promptly seated, the food arrived lukewarm, and the ribs severely burnt! I asked for a manager; he arrived and stated it was a new law showing me something online saying all barbecue had to be cooked like this to a certain degree!! I've never heard of such nonsense in my life. Has anyone else?? I returned my plate and was given a refund. I will never go there again!! The food was awful.

Yelp
5.5.21 I've been going here for some years now, it's super convenient right off the i-405 freeway and i always clean including bathrooms well stocked with soap, towels and toilet paper . For now the salad bar is closed , the wait staff will bring you your single salad or soup . I went this week and the young girl at the register was totally untrained and clueless ~ she asked me the same qusetions four or five times and still managed to screw up our order . Dine in is available, the tables are *mostly* set apart,, if you want to sit near the windows looking out at Sepulveda, they're all jammed together, this doesn't make much sense . As always, you know *exactly* what you're going to get, in the last 5 years portion sizes have dropped by about 40% at all Sizzlers . I've been going to Sizzler since 1970 and like the place, many of the franchise stores are grubby , obviously no one from corporate gets off their behinds to actually _check_ . -Nate

Yelp
Some Like It Hot and some like it Sizzlin'. I received my $5 off b-day coupon from this sizzlin' place, so I paid their salad bar a visit. Who knew that you could now take the salad bar to go? With all the salad bar options, I'm not sure this would be an inexpensive option but anywho.... You also wouldn't have an ENDLESS SUPPLY ---- of that incredible cheese bread that Sizzler is known for if you take it to go. I guess I haven't been to a Sizzler in a while since I didn't know that they had Carnitas now. Their meat was so flavorful that I had to go back for seconds. I made my own nachos with the chips, cheese, sour cream and carnitas. Then I made myself carnita tacos. I really couldn't get enough of that meat. By the time I finished my carnita tacos, the waiter brought out my cheese bread. The cheese bread wasn't toasted enough. I was so mad since I was jonesing for some scrumptious Sizzler cheese bread. This particular Sizzler location is located in Culver City across from the Westfield Mall. It is DEFINITELY worth a visit or two. To be truthful, I honestly don't even know why this place even has a menu. Certainly, they've got steak & shrimp, Malibu chicken and even hamburgers on deck.... all of which, are tasty HOWEVER.... it's obvious that the "break out star" of this establishment is by FARRRRR......... THE $12 SALAD BAR! Customer service here is nominal. The waiter took really long to bring out my water. the cashiers also seemed more interested in talking to one another than actually tending to the customers.

Yelp
We visited this location yesterday evening. Management of this location came off very unprofessional. This is mainly about the manager working at the time we visited. I believe her name is Gigi. It started while trying to order our dinner and her assumption of who was going to eat the added salad bar and being told it couldn't be shared. She wasn't accepting my order until she charged us the full price vs "added" salad price. Honestly it was a few dollars and I did not want to continue with this. I've never experienced this at any other Sizzler. Then when I asked about the senior discount for 50 and over she said no it was only for 65 and over. This is also something that was done different at another Sizzler. When I asked about it she said it could be different because the restaurant is a franchise. Moving on, we proceeded to sit for dinner. My mother order a ribeye steak cooked medium. It came to her so hard that she had a hard time being able to cut it so she sent it back. Then it came back rare with the blood coming out of it when you cut it in the middle. So we sent it back again and then it came back closer to what medium is. We all finished eating by this point and so my mom decided to just take everything to go. There's nothing worse than when you take your mom to eat and she couldn't eat what she ordered and did not enjoy herself! Meanwhile our waiter was clearly stressed the whole time and I saw the manager questioning him but she never came over to ask us anything. Our waiter later apologized and explained that they were short staffed because someone called out. There was so much tension in that restaurant and I truly believe it starts with management. We will never visit this location again and maybe Sizzler as a whole because it is not what it use to be growing up...

I would love to give the 5 review, becouse food was super and the service too... But the waitress forgot to serve the salad, we got the main dishes first and I had to ask for my salad other than that I had a good experience.

Yelp
Just wanted to put in a quick word for this location. Way better than other locations around town. Salad bar is always well-stocked and fresh. Our entrees were prepared to perfection. A special note to our server, named Guy. He took special care of us and made sure we were frequently attended to. Thanks, Guy!

Yelp
The salad bar cold food was great that's why I rated a 2 star. The hot food part was mostly empty and what food was on it was all old. I had to ask the server if they were going to put out fresh food received a little attitude because I asked. Definitely won't return and have forwarded pictures of the food bar to corporate as well as the Los Angeles health department.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. This is not an inexpensive place to get a steak. a steak and a salad cost as much here as it would in a regular steakhouse. but, you do get all you want from the salad bar and you get some dessert. The steak was very tasty, relatively tender, and cooked exactly as I asked. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant seemed relatively clean. Parking was close, and it was safe. This is the first time I had eaten at a sizzler in about 20 years. Honestly, I did not know they still existed. I'm glad I stopped here for dinner. one of my favorite things at sizzler continues to be there blue cheese salad dressing. It might be the best blue cheese salad dressing on Earth. That blue cheese salad dressing is what resulted in the four star review. Would have been three stars without it.

Yelp
After frequenting the location on Western for years, we decided to give this location a try as it appeared slightly higher rated, and are glad we did. For those that may not know, Sizzler is far and away one of the best values for AYCE in LA--which is a rarity outside KBBQ. If you want to have a great meal where everyone is stuffed for $12-$15/pp, look no further--everyone in this economy is looking for a nice dining experience that won't break the bank and it doesn't get any better than this, esp for AYCE in LA.. The cold, hot and dessert bars are enough to satisfy any appetite and the variety is more than sufficient. This location was brighter, airy, and had a festive atmosphere with a lot of regulars that came back, and for good reason. There are little extras I haven't seen at other locations, like roasted jalapeños and even menudo soup! We were especially impressed with the service provided by Guy, who clearly is a career waiter and takes pride in everything he does--even asking if you want lemons with your water. He mentioned he's been with the company for 35 years and at this location for 15--Guy was truly the icing on the cake for a very pleasant experience and everyone left satisfied. The location is very convenient across from the mall and lots of other shopping nearby. We will be back and make this our go-to Sizzler from now on!

Yelp
The fried shrimp was on point. But my steak took numerous times to cook. The steak couldn't be cut. I tried to chew it but nothing happened. I had to swallow it with some water. My stomach didn't feel good after I left.

Yelp
Awful. Really bad. Shocked at how bad. Soggy, almost cold fries. Steak tasted like what they used to call tenderized, like it was treated with something to make it soft, but didn't taste like steak. Here's the deal: Was a delivery. Food was packed into a leaky, half open, wet, styrofoam container. The upgraded steak was jammed in up against a dried-out tiny lobster tail. The fries were in a soaked-through paper bag and smashed over the food. I mean, for this kind of $ I'd expect some care. Oh yeah, a single slice -yes, a single slice - of some kind of wonder bread, again soaked, and I'm guessing cheese? Look, for not much more $ I could have gotten dinner from Ruth's Chris, Del Frisco's or for the same $ any number of places that don't dump their food in a pile with grease all over the place. The steak seemed okay, but when chewed it turned into a paste. Not a sign of a fresh piece of non-treated chemically meat.
