"This Hunan-inspired restaurant uses pickled chilies in contrast to the dry chilies synonymous with the numerous Sichuan restaurants in the area. Mortar and pestle-pounded eggplant with bell pepper and century egg is a must-order, as are the customizable dry pots with a wide variety of meats and vegetables. Smoky plum juice is a nice pairing to the sourness, salt, and spiciness of the food." - Jay Friedman

Google
Four of us shared one dry pot and some rice for about $20 per person. Filling and tasty! I recommend the house spicy flavor and adding bamboo shoots. Service was really nice too. Forgot to take a photo until we had already eaten most of it!

Amanda

Google
Ordered the roast fish (招牌巫山烤鱼), the eggplant dish, the shredded spicy pork tripe, and the seasonal sautéed vegetables. The roast fish was very disappointing to me, the fish tasted good but all the add-ins such as tofu, cauliflower and glass noodles in the pot were not seasoned well nor cooked well. My favorite dish was the pork tripe (second pic), it was delicious and savory. The eggplant and vegetable dish were authentic, safe choice. Store environment is clean and you order directly on your phone off a QR code menu.

Google
The environment is sort of overwhelming, dark and a little smelly. The dishes look great, but both the sautéed beef and the tea cup duck are too salty. The sweet corn with pine nuts taste good. Overall the taste is not that good compared to pre covid.

Google
Sizzling Pot King serves pre-prepared hot pot for the table, whether it's the standard soup based or their specialty dry pot. You order the type and size of the pot, which may come with some pre-selected ingredients, add your choices of meat/vegetables/carbs, and finally the spice level. Be careful with the spice level here, as they definitely cater towards a heat tolerant crowd. The tastiness of a hot pot is determined by the variety and freshness of the ingredients as well as the flavor of the broth. Everything here is ok, though the broth seemed to be more focused on heat rather than flavor. They do offer some more specialty meats such as duck which is definitely worth trying. Also recommend the lotus root and dried or frozen tofu.

Google
I'm diehard fan for spicy dry pots. The dry pots at Sizzling Pot King is the best I've had in Seattle. I got the highest level of spicy with numb & spicy. It wasn't as numbing as I expected it to be. The lamb was fabulous in the taste and the quantity! The veggies within the dish can be a little more in quantity or variety. The spicy flavor isn't the best I've had. Overall, I don't see myself craving to get some more of this dry pot but definitely would recommend to others to try it.

Google
Great staff and fast service. They got several round tables to accommodate large group. We ordered eight dishes and got served under 15 minutes. Dry pot was delicious, it came with several veggies along with chicken. Great flavor!

Google
So happy that one of our favorite restaurants is open for dine in again. The food is so good as always. We came in with Chinese family members and they all loved the authentic Hunan dishes. Good food, fast service!

Google
Delicious Chinese dry pot with plenty of options at a reasonable price. We got a large spicy pot (which has a nice spicy flavor while not being too hot). We got tons of food and had plenty left to take home for a second meal. The food overall seemed like I could’ve made it at home, but the sauce is what you come for. We got spicy garlic and it was delish! Would recommend adding fish cakes and rice cakes!

Aryaman T.

Yelp
Amazing place with good food, good service, and a very quiet vibrant ambiance. I would definitely visit this place again!

Yelp
Oh my gosh. It is permanently closed and no one reported it. We drove there and realized the restaurant is closed and gone.

Yelp
Located in Chinatown, is a hot pot place that was perfect for the cooler weather in Seattle. Ordered one dish and only one dish while there: - SPK招牌冒菜 House Special Instant HOT POT: ~$45 (before taxes & fees) after everything that was selected You get to pick your base, spice level, a minimum of 5 add-ons (between proteins and veggies). For the hotpot, we got: 1. Medium spicy Garlic Tomato base (+$6.99) 2. Bok choy ($3.99) 3. Sliced lotus root ($3.99) 4. Enoki mushroom ($4.99) 5. Wild mushroom ($5.99) 6. Bamboo shoots ($4.99) 7. Beef tripe ($5.99) 8. Sausage ($5.99) As you can see from the photo, the hot pot was enough for 4 people, but with just the 2 us of, we ended up leaving about 20% of it and since we were travelling, we couldn't take it to go (as much as I wish we could have). The entire order system is online - there's a QR code for you to scan and then order for your table. While waiting, you get water and free jamine tea. The service was quick and non-imposing. When it came time to pay, it was also through the same QR code that's on the table - I loved how seamless and almost no-contact it was, with minimal human interaction. Parking seemed limited in the area. It's an underrated place and I recommend it!

Yelp
This place is pretty underrated in my opinion. We used to live near their old location on Aurora and went there literally almost every week. The dry pot is so customizable and a medium pot is huge and definitely will give you two meals. I love that you can add all your favorite ingredients into this dish. We recently learned that they also have hot pot there. Same concept as the dry pot where you can just check off the items you want and they cook it all for you. Quite nice for times when you don't feel like cooking your own hot pot, right? Another favor of ours is the smoked beancurd with chives. The bean curd has such a nice flavor and reminds me of homecooked food. Recently, we tried the sizzling soft tofu. This is now my new favorite tofu dish from here. The tofu is cooked in this yummy sauce, and so good over rice. Their current location is an international district. The interior is quite modern and clean with large tables, making it a great place to eat with groups. All of their dishes are very suitable for having a family style dining experience and I think in general they're dry pot and other dishes have been good for takeout in our experience .

Yelp
This is great! The ambiance is chill and the food is great! The service is friendly too.

Diane J.

Yelp
This was the best dry pot I've ever had in the States. There was a minor mistake with our Signature Dry Pot order but we didn't even mind because the flavors were so good. I would revisit Seattle just to come back here. In-person dining and ordering is done through an online QR code. The dry pot can be custom-made, which is what our table did. We got fatty beef, pork intestines, potatoes, cabbage, and glass noodles. I'd recommend getting a large pot for parties of four or more.

Deanna T.

Yelp
This place is soooo good!! I love dry pot and have been looking for a place ever since I moved. My friends recommended this place and I'm glad I can continue trusting their recommendations (because some of my *acquaintances* have really led me astray - whether it was on purpose or not still TBD). The ambiance is great - it's quiet and tucked away on a street super close to the light rail. It's also right next to a ton of great dessert spots like Seattle's best tea. The service is fantastic - everyone here is really nice and attentive. They're so accommodating and exude a lot of warmth and care. It's easiest to order by scanning the QR code, which sends your order directly to the kitchen. I'm trying to eat less meat, so I got the veggie bowl which lets you choose 6 additional sides for $36. I got the wide vermicelli, rice cake, enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, tofu, and king oyster mushrooms. I also got it mild spicy with mala. Even though I got mild, it was still really spicy because of the mala and I feel like I was seeing stars lowkey near the end. Mala spice is definitely the OG kylie jenner lip challenge! My total came out to around $40 with tax (not including tip) but I'm pretty sure I'll have enough food for three more days because there was so much and I barely made a dent. Everything was amazing and I can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Delicious surprise super authentic flavors. The spicy ribs were awesome. Sure, I ate lunch here in Seattle. But I was lifted mentally and emotionally by these flavors to my favorite place in China.

Ying Y.

Yelp
Very delicious and authentic Hunan food. It is a bit spicy but we love it. The environment is quiet and staff is nice.

Niya Z.

Yelp
Hunan cuisine, normally known as one of Chinese 8 cuisine types, is famous for its unique spicy and yummy. Chairman Mao's hometown cuisine. Recommended several dishes chopped pepper fish head: Hunan dishes must be ordered, fresh chopped pepper, pickled pepper, garlic combination of fresh and delicious, oil heavy color, aroma hook, the addition of shiso leaves make the fish head fresh with fresh, chili pepper extremely noisy, more than fish delicious, absorbing the soup of tofu and noodles is really a great Signature risotto: relatively unexpected Hunan restaurant risotto, the main ingredients can be from a variety of meat to offal to choose two, side dishes can choose three, the amount is very large, we 4 people in the pot did not finish packing back to add some dishes and eat two meals The main ingredients selected large intestine and beef tendons, should be brined in advance, super delicious, large intestine soft with a stronger and smoky feeling, beef tendons soft, very addictive, choose a small spicy or feel very spicy, red oil aroma, numb and spicy with a fresh sweet Chili ring eggplant: must point must point must point, my heart's white moonlight! This Mrs. Mrs. delicious, chili pepper is fried past the skin, eggplant meat fat, fresh and sweet egg, the key to this dish is particularly ritualistic, you can ring yourself, mixed with the taste is simply a great, in which there is a kind of indefinable smoky smoke, wrapped in sesame oil swept the taste buds White fruit and pork belly chicken: when ordering a dish think white fruit chicken is a feature of Qingcheng Mountain, pork belly chicken is a Cantonese Hakka dish, appearing in Hunan restaurant is just right for me to solve a spicy, want to say that the material is really good enough, pork belly washed very clean, chewy, white pepper soup base warm stomach and warm body, soup thick with clear, spicy dishes after the best when the soup, the last picture is packed back the next day to cook their own soba noodles Yuhua stone tofu: this is also very much to my liking, egg tofu wrapped in raw flour after frying, minced pork and chili thick owes to the soup to wrap all the tofu, the entrance salty taste comprehensive, bite open the tofu and delicate smooth, this dish is ready to go home to replicate ribs: this seasoning can be, the juice of colored peppers especially down the rice, but personally feel the meat on the old side, together with the meat eating boys feel the ribs addictive hahaha

Yelp
Good food, with reasonable prices and portions. We visited this place on Sunday night, and it was super quiet. It is super quiet in CID on Sunday nights in general, so no surprise there. The staffs were friendly and quick to serve us, and food remained delightful! We order online, staffs confirm our order.... 10 mins later, our food arrived and they were yummy and comforting.

Yelp
We were looking for some good authentic Chinese food and Sizzling Pot King popped up, so we decided to check this place out! We went around 12 and the restaurant wasn't busy at the time, so we were seated quickly. We got the Pork Ear appetizer, Crispy Tofu on Hot stone, Sauteed Shredded beef with peppers, medium dry pot, and Steamed Pork belly with preserved veggies. The crispy tofu was one of my favorites - really tender tofu that basically melted in your mouth, with a delicious sauce that had good spice and flavor. The main thing to get was the dry pots, and oh man it was a lot of food, a good variety of both meats and veggies, and was brought out hot and kept warm through a small torch under the pot. I paid about $36, and had a lot of leftovers afterwards. Though a bit pricey, you definitely get what you pay for here, it is a lot of food!

Ujjval C.

Yelp
This place is easily the best place for A drypot. The flavors are bang on. We always had instant noodles to it.

Lucy C.

Yelp
The dry pot was really yummy and comes with an assortment of vegetables and an adjustable spice level. We shared between 2 people and still had to take a lot to go. Additionally, the service is quite fast. We ordered online from a QR code and though I wish the website UI gave a confirmation when we submitted the order, the staff was very attentive and checked in with us right away. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish there was more meat (we got the sliced beef ribeye) and also the place smelled a little weird.

Yan L.

Yelp
The place smells like a toilet the second you walk in. The owner sprays fabreeze while you're eating and theres a fabreeze car freshener on the air vent. I got a large dry pot because we were starving and let me start off with saying you're better off with cooking this at home. A fee of $3 more just for some dried bean curd and lotus root?? I paid nearly $60 and I have to say it's mediocre. The beef is absolutely disgusting and I ended up eating the veggies only. The bean curd wasn't cooked through and was hard. Overall, I don't understand how this place have good reviews when there was not one person sitting down earring there other than our table.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
First time ever ordering food from here and didnt fail to disappoint! I ordered the medium pot and it is well worth the money. It was meant for me and my boyfriend, and considering that my boyfriend eats for basically 2 people, we still had a LOT leftover. Definitely suggest ordering the dry pots to get your money worth, especially since it has a great portion of both meats and veggies. It does have a pretty strong spice to it that could be overwhelming, but overall a very decent meal!

Jess S.

Yelp
SO good!! Hunan style Chinese food. Their specialty is the "dry pot". You can pick either with meat/seafood or veggie. The meat version comes with one protein choice (can't recall if it comes with one additional veg). The veggie version you can pick 6 veggies. Both come with some standard vegetables like broccoli and potato. Two different sizes - medium or large. You can choose the flavor (mala, spicy and sour, etc) and spice level. We had 3 people and got a medium veggie pot and two additional dishes and it was more than enough. Loved the veggie pot with all the add ons. The listed veggies include tofu too! The flavor is amazing - we got the less spicy mala one. The frozen tofu we added really soaked up the delicious flavors! All the vegetables were amazing. In addition we got the eggplant/shishito pepper/preserved egg dish which comes in a mortar & pestle kind of container and you smush it al together. Looks like mush but is delicious! Also got another dish with dried cucumber and pork. This was also good but least favorite of the three. Do note that you pay for rice by the bowl. Service was very quick. They also have buttons at each table that you can push for service or asking for the bill. I definitely recommend coming here! We will be back for sure. I want to try the egg tofu on sizzling stone as well!

Shawn L.

Yelp
I just had my first order in Seattle and went to this place because of the good reviews and wanting some spicy food. Not sure if it was that I was the first customer at 11AM and had leftover ingredients. But I had a very bad experience. The spicy crawfish was dry and not fresh. The pig feet had plenty of pig hair in it and was not soft at all. The lamb spicy dry pot was at best plain. But still eatable in compare to the other 2 disasters. The Japanese tofu was pretty good but doesn't alter the other bad items for a total price of $128.

Mia Z.

Yelp
This is the real deal for hunan dry hot pot! I had it when I was in China and didn't expect to have it so authentic again here in seattle. You pick the flavor and what goes into it entirely. We did half of the vegetable options on menu with pork belly and oh man it is soooo frickin good! We are eating our brains out! We also got fried rice and Tsingtao beer. Bf is super happy it's his 1st time for this style and we are definitely coming back. So much food... we got the medium size pot and couldn't even finish half of the pot. Packing everything home. So happy. Oh and make sure you do LESS SALT. We did mild spicy level with less salt and it came out to perfection.

Juan D.

Yelp
Great place and a hidden treasure at the heart of CID in Seattle. Authentic food, combined with a tranquil environment, is great for a lot of occasions.

Joanne K.

Yelp
Authentic Hunan style establishment that specializes in dry hot pot. They offer two sizes- medium (good for 2-3 people) and large (4+ people). You choose the base, protein, and spice level. They throw in some default veggies, but offer plenty more options for toppings that you can add in for an extra charge. I recommend eating it with a side of rice because it was a bit salty. While the food definitely hit the spot, the service was a complete miss. It took our server over 20 minutes to come to our table just to take our order. After the food arrived, no one ever came back to check up on us. We were also never offered any water throughout the entire meal.

Eugene L.

Yelp
Only place I can go for mala xiang guo. Price is not cheap but portion is enormous. I always add more vegis extra as it defintetly worth it to add for extra cpst.

Amanda H.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place! The menu consists of build your own dry pots that come in two shareable sizes in addition to some other Hunan mains and appetizers. Did not get the dry pots, which is what most people get here I think, but instead I got the crispy tofu on hot stones and it was super flavorful and yummy. It comes with the little round egg tofus (super soft texture) in a mildly spicy sauce. It was really good and I'd get this dish again. Unfortunate that they charge for rice ($1.50 per bowl) since all of the dishes required rice to be eaten with. Nonetheless will be back and will try one of the build your own pots next time.

Huong L.

Yelp
I saw a lot of good reviews from this place and it has been on my list for a while. We decided to do the medium pot with beef short ribs and added quail eggs. Ok, when I first saw the takeout box I was like holy crap that's big. The medium pot can easily feed 2-3 people. It was decent catering tray with tons of veggies and meet. They definitely did not skimp on anything. The flavor was good. We got the mala-numb spicy with medium spice and man, it was spicy, and that is saying something, especially from me. My boyfriend was sweating bullets! Definitely worth the price as it kept us fed for almost 2 meals and it has good flavors. Excited to try the actual place when all this covid stuff ends.

Lydia K.

Yelp
Honestly this place deserves more attention because their food was bomb! I came in a little late on the weekend (830 pm) ish? And the restaurant was empty. So i didn't have much expectation. Ordered a squid dry pot and it turned out to be so good! Although it was very oily the dish tastes very flavorful and sorta spicy. It was around ~20 dollars and it was good to share with another person. Service was fast and i got nothing to complain. I would def come back here again!

Rachel Z.

Yelp
Amazing! I came here with 2 friends on Thanksgiving for dinner while visiting Seattle. Back home in Virginia, I've yet to find a good dry hot pot restaurant so I was super excited to eat at Sizzling Pot King. The 3 of us ordered a medium-sized mala mild spicy pot with beef tongue and additional toppings of pig blood, lotus root, and shitake mushrooms. The medium size pot was more than enough to feed at least 4 to 5 people. The pot came with a really big portion of beef tongue, which was really tender. The flavor was also just right, with the mala spiciness really shining through. If you're not too keen on spicy food, I wouldn't recommend ordering anything hotter than mild. Even mild spiciness had us all sweating. We also ordered the eggplant with shishito peppers and preserved egg. This was such a unique dish! I've never had eggplant with preserved egg before but it was delicious. Overall, I had a really great experience here and would definitely come back.

Ainsley E.

Yelp
Incredible value here for a group dinner. Customize your dry hot pot pretty much any way you want. We had beef, chicken, numbing spice with medium heat, and tons of vegetables. So flavorful and they don't pull punches with the spice. Medium was a STRONG medium, for people who like spicy food, so be careful. For a meal for 4 it came to around $17 a person for a considerable amount of food. You can also request rice and the meal comes with tea as well. We'd return and try again for sure. It was recommended by our friends who go frequently so it's a sure shot.

Yelp
Dry pot and Hunan cuisine restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. Opened up pretty recently. Mid-sized space. They only open for lunch and dinner. Went there on a Saturday. We were early so didn't have trouble getting a table, but the place was full when we were done eating. Definitely more of a spot for the young professional/college student crowd. Their specialty is the spicy dry pot. Depending on what size you order, you can pick one or two main ingredients. They will also include some default veggies, and you can add more ingredients for a few dollars each. The main ingredients range from more mundane items like pork ribs to more adventurous ones like cow tongue, pig intestines and bullfrog legs. You can also pick the spice type (spicy or numbing spicy) and spice level. They serve the pots reasonably quickly and the taste is pretty good. For dry pots, the important things for me is that the flavor is cooked into all of the ingredients, and this place certainly did that. We also ordered a pork hock dish from the menu, and that was alright. Total came to about $150 for 6 people, so not that expensive. They accept up to 2 credit cards per table to split the check.

Josi H.

Yelp
I know I left a review the last time I was in Seattle. Here I am back in Seattle and this is what I am craving. Seriously craving right now. We will see you soon Sizzling Pot King.

Sami K.

Yelp
Sizzling Pot King is a chain with various locations in California and Washington and is most known for their dry hot pot. I've been here a couple of times now and it's always a solid, quick option especially if you're feeling lazy and are looking to have leftovers for a few days. During COVID, they offer pick-up, ordering on Yelp/GrubHub or on their website (https://www.spkseattle.com/), or you can have the food delivered (Ubereats, Postmates, GrubHub, etc.). You're able to choose between a medium (1 protein, $28) or large (2 protein, $39) size pot. Their protein options vary from your basics such as chicken or beef to more adventurous ones including pig feet and beef tongue. You customize the flavor of the pot (i.e. spicy, garlic, mala, etc.) as well as spice level (not spicy-crazy spicy). The pot also already comes with five vegetables chosen by the restaurant, but you're able to add other items such as misc vegetables, noodles, etc for an extra cost. I ordered the Medium Signature Dry Pot (spicy, medium spice, beef short ribs, napa cabbage +$1, beef tripe +$4.5). With the added fix-ins, this pot was enough for at least 4 meals. I was afraid that the short rib pot was going to mostly consist of bones and little meat, but they actually gave a decent amount and it was flavorful. Not the most tender, but still good! I've tried their lamb and that's delicious as well. The veggies were cooked nicely, still retaining a bit of a crunch. Rice is NOT included and I would say is a must, so definitely include a side order or two or make your own if you're cheap like me ;).

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Came here extremely hungry with my boyfriend. We ordered a medium sizzling pot with beef tendons and mala spice with medium spice level. For add-ons we added cabbage, fish sticks, and pork belly. The pork belly was a great add-on. I definitely recommend it! The medium spice was a great spice level for me and my bf- I loveee spice and he's just okay with it. There was so much food in the pot! They definitely do not skimp out on the beef tendons which were thick and delicious. We ended up having to pack some food since there was just so much! Our friends ordered a pot with duck and the duck tasted pretty dry so just warning you if you decide to get that! Come here if you love testing your limits on spicy food!! You won't regret it!

Sunny H.

Yelp
"Hearty and cheap meal" Did a pickup because of coronavirus outbreak. They took hygiene really seriously. Really liked their Large serving with beef ribs and lamb. Everything is customizable, pick a size, choose your choice of protein, choose any extra sides, and lastly choose your spicy level. Small size was $25 large size was $40 I believe.. My husband likes it really spicy, so we got "Very Spicy" level, and it was perfectly spicy af and yummy. My husband and I are eating the leftover at home for daysss. Too large for two people. Plus I added veggies at home, and I get 6-7 servings disclaimer: for normal portions, 4-5 people will be able to split this large pot nicely. I feel it was cheap when I calculate price per serving.

Yin Y.

Yelp
Since my hotel is close by and I didn't want to walk far or uber to Pine Street, I decided to give it a try based on its yelp reviews. It's a Sunday night during dinner time and the place is half full. I ordered sour and spicy beef soup to go. Surprisingly, the dish which costs $14 didn't come with rice, so I ordered rice for an extra buck. This is where I deduct one star. Food quality worth around 3.5 stars. Instead of using sliced beef, beef in the soup is more like hot pot beef. I guess it's easier to cook. The dish has very little enoki mushroom & little chopped red pepper, so little I only had a few bites of those. Service was great though. It was fast.

Abdullah A.

Yelp
Three days into quarantine and chill and I have a hunger of pandemic proportions. Sizzling Pot King had no delivery fee through caviar so I put in a big order: bok choi with fried rice, braised fish in black bean sauce, large hot pot, and sweet potato cakes. The braised fish was really good, although I prefer it in the spicy oil vs. the black bean sauce. The hot pot surpassed my expectations. Tender veggies in a hot and numbing oil infused with szechuan peppercorns. We went with pork ribs and beef tongue. The beef tongue was amazing! The sweet potato cakes had a fun texture like mochi and were somewhere between a side and a dessert. Four of us ate roughly half of the food and were stuffed. Would recommend if you're looking for good spicy chinese food in the midst of a deadly virus outbreak.

Hebe L.

Yelp
I have ordered both Medium Pot and Large Pot before. I don't think the large pot is bigger, the only difference to me is that we can add one more main item. The server is nice. The don't charge tips/service fee when you order take out. One additional main item costs $10.99, I think that's a bit too expensive but they put a lot in the pot. For people who do not eat spicy at all, their non-spicy pot is still a little bit spicy.

Rosa C.

Yelp
We ordered large pot. The flavor is Mala spicy. Assorted vegetables eg cauliflowers, potatoes included. They have 2 different sizes of pots to Choose from, then You can add a Main item on Medium pot/ 2 items on Large pot. They will provide 10% off if you write your review of yelp

Ashley S.

Yelp
Soooooooo delicious!!! I haven't had a dry pot in soooooooo long and they did not disappoint at all. Absolutely amazing with great and friendly staff!!! If you live here or are in town, definitely a must taste place.

Jia G.

Yelp
Been going to the San Diego location for the past few years so when we moved to Washington we knew we had to go! Unfortunately, it was lacking the flavor we were looking for and used to. The spiciness was there and the food was made quickly but I can't say I'd go back. Maybe we'll try the Bellevue location!

Sara S.

Yelp
It is soooooooo nice!!!!!!!!! The most spicy, and yum food in the U.S!!! You will never get disappointed if you are a fan of the Xiang cuisine.

Victoria Helen L.

Yelp
Hard to decide between 4 and 5... SPK is the ultimate in customization and perfect for a group. For two people it can be a little too much food and rather spendy. Honestly, I would rate this spot 4/5 starts with one star discounted based on cost, but the kindness of the employees and quality of the food balances it out to me. Plus it is super customizable and a fun way to dine... like cooking at home but without the actual effort! SPK allows diners to select a protein (highly recommend the prawns) and sauce (Malay hot and numbing is my fav) and add additional items* (this time, Chinese sweet sausage, lobster balls, meatballs, tripe, mushrooms, broccoli and lotus) for the kitchen to cook together in a sizzling pot which is then quickly delivered to your table. The pots automatically include fried potato planks, cauliflower and bean sprouts. *NOTE: the add ons are totally overpriced, I think a handful of broccoli is at least $1-2?? Lobster balls I believe are $4 and you don't get much. That being said, I think the option of selecting additional ingredients takes it to the next level of deliciousness. As for spice, even the medium is fairly spicy but super delicious- definitely get rice to balance the heat! Hunan cuisine uses a whole dried red pepper that pairs beautifully with Sichuan numbing peppers. For size, A medium/single meat bowl is enough for four people if you also order side dishes. It seems that part of the pricing for added items might be because it doesn't decrease the amount of other ingredients- hard to explain but you could basically size these meals up or down to any size party... We are chronic over-orderers and that is probably reflected in both the price we paid and the volume of our leftovers. For sides, the eggplant and century egg appetizer is unique and soothing on the tastebuds. I also love the black fungus salad with a vinegar dressing. I've really never had anything here that wasn't delicious!

Yelp
Came here back in February before this whole virus outbreak got out of control. Was thinking about ordering takeout from here, and realized I never wrote a review! This place was soooo good. Definitely my top 3 in Chinatown. My two friends and I got the medium pot with beef and some additional fixings (noodles and veggies) and a cumin lamb dish. It was SO MUCH food. We got the numb & spicy flavor at medium spice level for the pot. It was the perfect amount of heat for me personally. I liked that it wasn't just numbing, but also flavorful. The lamb was also very nicely done. I'm definitely going to order takeout / delivery from here soon. The pot probably won't be delivered sizzling, but I'm hopeful the food will still be yummy.

Yelp
At last, a dry pot restaurant in Seattle!!! Love love love the food. Great vegetarian options with the vegetable dry pot, which has over 25+ variety of vegetables, tofu, noodles and mushrooms to choose from. The buns with the sweet sauce is a great side. And they're FAST. Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
I love this place. I come here all the time, whether I'm with just one other person or in a bigger group. The flavors are just so good. My favorite is getting mala pot (I think the middle spice is a good level for me) and getting lamb and beef tongue. It's also fun to try out the other dishes so I recommend coming with a bigger group!

Yelp
I came here upon hearing that theres dry hotpot and I was surprised that theres actually a really extensive menu full of authentic chinese options as well! You can expect the typical short Asian service here - sign that the food is going to be good. I also noticed lots of asians eating here as well, an additional positive pre-meal validation! The portions of the dry hotpot is huge, and the medium size is enough for 3 people! The flavors were amazing and there was actually a fair ratio of protein served as well, I'd comment that it's a bit on the oily side. I had a great experience with the dry hotpot but the other asians that looked like regulars seemed to have ordered the other items on the menu, a thought that popped into my head when scanning the menu initially. I'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Sizzling Pot King seems like a hidden gem in International District. This place serves a dry hot pot with a good mix of meats and vegetables. Food: The medium pot seems like it provides enough food for about 4 people and it's really packed with protein and meat. We tried the beef tongue pot adding some noodles as an extra. We got a pretty good serving of the beef tongue and it was very tender. The highlight of the pot seems to be the noodles, veggies, and potatoes. The sides of the pot were filled with flavor and had a nice spice level. If you can't handle spice, I would recommend just getting mild as the bowl is naturally a little spicy. We also got the stir fried clams. While I did like the flavors of the clams, it seem like we didn't get that many and some clams were empty. Price: Seems well worth the price considering how much food you get in the pot. Overall, I really wanna come back and try some of their other dishes. All the food tasted really good

Yelp
I came here with a big group of friends and the first thing I noticed was how much food we got for a reasonable price. The portion sizes are huge! The food was superb, we ordered a bunch of different meats and they were all cooked well and flavorful. I normally don't like spam that much, but it was a solid addition to the dry pot. We ordered the medium spice level and that was a solid choice for people who like and can't handle spice so I'd recommend that one unless your group is at the extremes either way.

Yelp
Take a trip to Hunan province China by having a taste of the cuisine. The dishes are tasty and service is good. A lot of reasons to go back. This place is yummy and has fast service for lunch. For the best experience, bring 4 or more people and get hotpot. Hotpot needs at least 3 people to enjoy it "the right way."

Yelp
A very solid addition to the ID! This is the replacement restaurant to Phnom Penh, the long-standing Cambodian Chinese establishment that had to take a hiatus due to family obligations. This is a Hunan-style (not HUMAN) Chinese restaurant. What is special about this place is that they do "dry" hot pot, which as you can guess is hot pot without the broth. You choose either the vegetable or meat one (one of two sizes) and while it already comes with add-ons, you can add more for a price depending on the item. My friend and I shared the medium size meat pot with lamb (garlic flavor, medium spicy level). We also got the following add-ons: cabbage, beef tendon balls, and taro. The beef tendon balls were surprisingly very good! We also ordered the pig ear (which is one of the better sides because the different duck parts are bony per the server's recommendation), as well as a side of white rice and two Tsingtao beers. Flavor of our dry pot was amazing! A little on the saltier side, but the intention is probably to eat it with rice. Portion was also perfect for two people. My guess is that the large sized one should be for four people. If you are tired of the traditional hot pot with broth, try out this place and you'll be guaranteed to not spill any broth on yourself because there ain't a

Yelp
It is similar to the store in shoreline. But has fewer choices on the menu. We ordered the hot sizzling pot. And said less oil less salt and no spicy no msg. We ordered it as garlic flavor. However, there is still oily red oil in the hot pot. So kids thought it was a bit spicy. And it is more oily than we would like it to be. We had ordered the same dish in shoreline, with the same specifications and got it exactly how we wanted it. So there is a bit difference. The environment is nice not too big but has more space at the back. The staff is really really nice. And location is easy to find. However there's no parking. It's Chinatown. It's expected

Yelp
another unreleased classic, me promise review written on 9/19 meal or good times enjoyed on 9/15/2018 photo linked 2 review is from 2nd visit on 10/5 move over hot pot! dry pot is the new king! w/ 6 locations so far n this being the 6th n newest 1, this place is expected 2 b packed! My wife n I feel like hot pot so we came here n u bet we were glad we did b/c it turnt out it wasn't wat we wanted but turnt out 2 b better than wat we wanted that is if u know wat I'm saying so this place serves wat is known as Dry Pot. Dry Pot? Wat is that u ask? Dry Pot has meats, vegetables that is stir fried via wok n afterwards bowled up inside a pot over a flame back story, will get back 2 review in a paragraph or so: so wat we wanted b4 we arrived was Chinese Hot Pot which is choices of each sliced: meats, vegetables n noodles where u cook them inside a pot over a camp stove. Believe me, it is so fun when u have a big party or friend gatherings. now.. back 2 the review: Now jumping back 2 the Dry Pot, u have a choice of 2 or 3 meats 2 go w/ the standard vegetables, but no noodles come w/ it.. we ended up ordering a side of rice n did the 2 meat choice of pork ribs n beef short ribs n then separate sides of lobster meatballs, pork belly n then black fungus that came mixed together inside that big pot Oh it was so good; 1 it's the most tastiest, flavorful meals I ever had! The whole pot was full of work flavor; the chef knows how to work it! The potatoes were 1 of the best things inside, as it tasted like potato wedges; black fungus which is a type of mushroom, was crunchy good; those ribs were in full bones, full of meat. The pot really had no weakness at all, everything was super! The service more than made up 4 how late our food came, as they had served a party of 60 n took off some charges on our bill. The restrooms were clean and spotless. I can tell you we will b back! Part 2 proof: I will b back like Terminator in 10/5 pic
