SJ Eggrolls: Eat Wonderfully Crispy, Netted Egg Rolls at This East San Jose Restaurant | Eater SF

"A small shop in East San Jose specializes in chả giò rế, or netted egg rolls, making the netted wrappers in-house rather than using premade sheets so the rolls achieve a distinct, brittle crunch. The netted egg rolls are filled with a blend of shrimp and pork (plus shreds of taro and carrots) that yields a light, clean flavor with a bouncy texture; they’re served with a bright, sweet-and-sour sauce made from orange and pineapple to balance the richness. The netted wrappers are created through a meticulous process: pouring rice flour slurry through a metal tube with tiny holes into a pan while moving in a continuous spiraling motion so it solidifies into a single layer of pliable, intertwined strings, which are then used like an egg-roll wrapper to encase the filling and are fried until crisp. Tuyet Van Tran learned the technique from her mother, who learned it from a netted egg roll vendor in Vietnam with thirty years of experience whom she paid to take her under her wing, and Tran’s mastery is evident in the intricate tight-knit weave that leaves just the right amount of negative space for each bite to be light and airy. Another standout is a hybrid banh khot that fuses the crispy pancake style of Vũng Tàu with the doughy Mekong Delta approach; after three months of recipe development to dial in texture and the rice-flour-to-wheat-flour ratio, the result is a bright yellow turmeric pancake with a doughy, chewy center and shattering crisp edges, topped with a plump whole shrimp, dusted with dried shrimp powder, and finished with minced pickled daikon and carrots and fresh herbs. The menu also features chao tom (minced shrimp wrapped around sugarcane and fried) and options served as bowls with woven vermicelli noodles, greens, and sweet chile fish sauce, plus drinks like freshly squeezed sugarcane juice with kumquats and a tamarind refresher made with pineapple and roasted peanuts. Tran began the business as a catering operation in 2020, and in October 2024 her husband, Binh Nguyen, left an 18-year banking career to help open a storefront in a San Jose strip mall; neither had prior restaurant experience but they draw on years of cooking with family and assemble trays stacked high with egg rolls, garlic noodles, fried chicken wings, and banh khot for parties and diners. Nguyen’s parents help at the restaurant and Tran’s parents plan to join when they move from Vietnam later this year; as Nguyen puts it, “I’ve lived in this community since I stepped foot in the U.S. … To be able to serve this community is a blessing.” The storefront is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday–Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday." - Octavio Peña

Google
I ordered takeout and was blown away by the generous portions - the shrimp garlic noodles were easily big enough for 2 people. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with a rich, savory garlic flavor that complemented the shrimp. And the banh khot? Still crispy at night after reheating in the toaster oven. They served with fresh herbs and the dipping sauce. Highly recommend for delicious and reasonable prices Vietnamese takeout.

Google
Small location, excellent customer service and the place is always busy but we got lucky! The food is fresh and everything on the menu is good. Try the garlic noodles and spring rolls!

Carol C.

Google
Been to their restaurant two times. Everything on their menu are solid. Can't go wrong with the egg roll, spring roll or other snacks. But the garlic noodles was too sweet for me. I was hoping their garlic noodles can be more savory side than sweet.

Bob L.

Google
Kind of a long wait but the food is freshly fried and tasty. The netted spring rolls were very crispy and you get a more puffy airy crisp compared to a typical fried spring roll. It is more heavy and indulgent. The Bahn khot were also delicious.

Google
This was for takeout the egg rolls were good and the wings were great. Everything was good, but the Banh Khot was not as flavourful as I hoped. It was crispy, but just bland IMHO. The Nem Nuong was underwhelming and it's because I'm comparing this to the famous restaurant in OC. The Pork and Shrimp Net Egg Rolls, Salad, and noodle dish were great! Definitely check out this place. We will be ordering certain things from them again.

Google
It's a small tiny place tucked away in a plaza and has very limited seating however, most people seemed to order to go. The food is amazing! We tried the banh khot and the eggrolls! They are very tasty and crispy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained each item really well and gave great recommendations.

Google
We traveled from Minnesota and this was a must visit. These very unique family recipe nest egg rolls and mini pancakes were amazing. Gracious owners. Lucky to have met them. we will make it a priority next time we visit.

Google
Limited seating. Food is freshly prepared, so the wait is slightly long but totally worthwhile. Ordered the egg rolls and Bahn khot and they were crunchy and absolutely delightful. Paired it with Thai teas. Will have to come back to try the net egg rolls as they were sold out.

Yelp
San Jose egg rolls are very good. Especially the net egg rolls. Everything is fresh before you order .

Yelp
First time trying SJ Eggrolls and I got a yummy takeout! Everything was delicious and super fresh. I got three of the Small Plates, which turned out to be way more food than I expected (in the best way!). The Banh Khot and eggrolls paired with the greens and fish sauce were perfect--crispy, refreshing, and flavorful. As for then chicken wing plate, the $2 garlic noodle upgrade was definitely the right choice! Even though I was just picking up my order, the customer service really STOOD OUT to me. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I also really enjoyed the cozy ambiance inside--holiday decorations and Christmas music playing for December. Can't wait to come back and dine in with my family next time!

Yelp
We ordered a few party trays of egg rolls and spring rolls. The first issue was the order took way too long. We called ahead and confirmed a pickup time but I still had to wait ~1 hr. It looked like the egg rolls were done but not the spring rolls, so the egg roll quality might have suffered from sitting for 1 hr + the time to drive to the party. It seemed like some other people were waiting for a pickup order as well. The egg rolls were not that good. We had the regular and netted kind and I felt that both were under-seasoned. I know many people dip the egg rolls in fish sauce but I think it was still under seasoned. I also didn't like the netted egg rolls, they turned out hard and dry. Hard like the net was scratching your mouth. We also ordered the shrimp & pork and nem nuong spring rolls. The spring rolls were better but weirdly some of them didn't have any bun (vermicelli noodles). The pork in the shrimp & pork was also too dry for my liking. The best ones were the nem nuong with the orange sauce. It was similar to a Brodard style sauce. The only thing I would go back for is the nem nuong spring rolls.

Yelp
I've had this place twice now, once as takeout and the other catering. The menu is small and simple, and the prices are fair. Netted Egg rolls sound good in theory but I've had them twice and it was just dry. I'd rather have a normal egg roll. On that point though, I'm sure many of you want to try the Netted Egg roll! It would be nice if you could do half and half for your order of the egg roll plate, or a bowl, that includes egg rolls (when ordering online at least) The Banh Khot was super doughy in the center, not that good. I will try to stop myself from coming back after having two mediocre experiences.

Yelp
Tried them about a month ago. Ordered the nem nuong (grilled pork spring rolls) and the net egg rolls. Both items were good! Service was quick and friendly. Now Thanksgiving comes along and thought it would be nice to have some of their items on our spread. We ordered 30 grilled pork spring rolls, 20 shrimp balls and, 30 party wings. We spent $210 and live 1hr 30 min away. Here is the kicker! The spring rolls were good, the wings were good BUT! the damn shrimp balls we're NOT shrimp! We've had plenty of shrimp balls from dim sum and other areas in San Jose. This by far has to be the worst crap ever served! Every shrimp ball I've had is full 100% shrimp, bouncy and fluffy. These were halfass shrimp filled with taro (or something), so they were tasteless and dense. I couldn't serve that so, into the trash it went! I was so disappointed! I called the store the next day to complain, because this was not cheap! Called and spoke to a guy and explained to him about the experience and he said "uhhh, let me have management call you back". Never did, so my brother called again and spoke with a manager and he basically said "we basically took it, and it's not our problem". Horrible service! Never coming back here again! Beware of them scamming you of "real" shrimp!

Yelp
When in San Jose you have to come here. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The boys ended up ordering a combo plate. My wife and I ordered the net egg rolls and the banh knots. Since we ordered alot it took them about 25-30 mins to make it while it was perfectly ok. We walked around and see what else is around there. Came and saw two bags and we knew it was ours lol. We brought it home and wow the food was amazing.

Yelp
Eat your veggies. What a delicious way to eat veggies( lettuce, cilantro, mint, pickled daikon and carrots) since it comes with an order of Banh Khot. These delightful, savory finger foods have a soft middle and crispy exterior edges. The center has a whole shrimp surrounded by green onions and an orange crumble shrimp topping. Dip your creation in the Viet fish sauce they give and your taste buds will love you. The friendly staff behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered us a menu even though there was a wall menu towering above them. They sell other packaged food items such as Pandan waffle cookies and shrimp chips at the counter (all made in-house) and Vietnamese yogurt in the fridge display. Everything I've eaten here has been delicious and fresh. I will be returning whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
Ordered 30 banh khot from online catering. Order was ready on time, give or take 5 minutes, but it was made fresh to order so it was worth it. And their banh khot is delicious. I believe the catering orders all come with the fish sauce, pickled veggies, and greens. Pricing for catering is very reasonable. I believe it was only $2/per piece. The workers are busy but friendly. The place only has a couple small tables. It's more of a pick up / take out spot.

Yelp
Been craving for banh khot for the longest time and finally a well worthy spot to get some. they are freshly made to order, crispy as it should be and are not small like the usual sizes you get at other places. you get 8 pieces of banh khot with some herbs and lettuce for a wrap. they also provide you with pickled carrots and daikon and nước chấm as well. all this roughly around $14. we also ordered their goi cuon (spring rolls) with shrimp and pork, which comes with their house dipping sauce. we ordered two sets of 5 spring rolls. which is about $15 pe set of 5. all delicious and will definitely be coming back again. the service here was pretty quick. When i just barely ordered my food, the wait time wasn't bad. it took about 15 minutes. service was very friendly and they made it very inviting to come in. the place was pretty neat and clean. it is located near where Sprouts market is, but in the back end near Little Ceasar's pizza. Also, you can order online and pick up as well if you don't want to wait. Most of the food you can order in party trays as well, but they also have small plates.

Yelp
Ordered for pickup a few times and they do not disappoint! Their wings are hot and crispy, on a bed of garlic noodles. I've tried the fish sauce wings, as well as the garlic butter ones. Both bomb! Their banh khot is the star of the show. We ordered 20 pieces to share and it comes with a side of fresh veggies- lettuce, mint, cilantro. Nuoc cham (Vietnamese dipping sauce) is also included. I love wrapping the banh khot in lettuce with a few mint leaves and cilantro. So delicious, fresh, and flavorful! I recommend ordering online and coming in for pickup.

Yelp
I've seen this spot in my social media feeds for a while now and finally made the almost 400 mile trip up north to try them out. It is no exaggeration to say these were some of the best egg rolls I've ever had! Top 3 for sure, delightfully crisp, packed with filling, great flavor, I can't recommend them enough! I also tried the Banh Khot, I'd never had them before and I would pick the egg rolls over them but they were pretty tasty. I love that both items came with a baggie of veg, I got lettuce, mint, and cilantro and they also provided a sauce and shredded carrot and daikon. Great deal and super sweet workers, this spot is a must try

Yelp
Had high hopes for this place, but it's not good to me. The netted eggrolls was just different from the regular eggrolls we normally get. I preferred rice paper eggrolls more.

Yelp
If you're looking for some crispy crunchy chewy delicious banh khot, then this is the establishment to get it! We ordered banh knot, netted eggrolls, and goi coun and everything was delicious and fresh! They also know how to properly package the fried items so they stay warm but keep their crunch when you get these goodies home. They also offer party trays which I will definitely utilize for my party orders! Delicious food = 5 stars

Yelp
5-stars for the pork and shrimp eggrolls: Specialty: Chả Giò (egg rolls) and Chả Giò Rế (netted egg rolls). I love a good eggroll and first time having a woven-rice noodle (Bánh hỏi") used as a wrapper with pork and shrimp filling, deep fried and served with lettuce and Đồ Chua (Vietnamese pickled, shredded carrots and daikon). Chả Giò Rế (netted egg rolls) were extra crispy and a sharp contrast to the soft filling and travelled well after 40-min traffic to devour at home. I also tried the pork vermicelli bowl and was okay....ill definitely stick their specialty of Vietnamese egg rolls! Highly recommend and will return to try other menu items like the fried chicken, nem spring rolls (grilled, sweet pork sausage) but the draw for me are those netted-deep fried egg rolls Service friendly, with a few tables for dining but set up for take out.

Yelp
My husband Tristan was out for a drive with some of his friends and had heard great things about SJ Eggrolls so they knew they had to try it. He had a great meal, would highly recommend and would go back without question. Upon his arrival, the cashier told my husband about a raffle they had going on so he signed up for the heck of it and even forgot about it until today.. when he got a phone call that he won!! Between the delicious food he had and the raffle, it meant so much to him that he couldn't wait for me to write this Yelp review on his behalf to share what an amazing experience he had. If you are in San Jose, it's a must go! Five stars!

Yelp
Such an amazing find!! I've been wanting to try banh khot and this place delivered with a great first bite of it. I ordered for pickup and the food was still warm and delicious! The banh khot was crunchy and I loved how hints of coconut pulled through. The fish sauce wings and garlic noodles were spectacular on the umami end of flavors. My pickup order was on time and the gentleman at the front was friendly! I wish their nuoc cham was a bit more salty/funky, but overall so so so good!

Yelp
I've been seeing SJ eggroll on my tiktok fyp for a while so decided to give it a try while we were on the area. We got the banh khot and banh hoi nem nuong. I don't usually prefer banh khot at restaurants because they usually taste better homemade in my opinion. Especially because I feel like they can get soggy quickly. These were really hyped up so we gave it a try and they're freshly made to order so they were really crispy. We only waited about 15 minutes. I appreciated that they warned us about the wait. My only complaint would be that the fish sauce was pretty watered down. I would have liked it a bit saltier. I liked that they included herbs and vegetables but felt that it wasn't enough for the portion. I liked the nem nuong bang hoi but same criticism got the fish sauce. I think the price is fair for the amount of food so no complaints there. I would definitely come back for the banh khot. I think nem nuong is more easily found elsewhere so wouldnt come back just for that. Ambiance is nice, kind of like they want to bring you to vietnam. they play viet pop music and have little tables/stools like if you were eating vietnamese street food.

Yelp
When your Viet mom tells you there's a new Vietnamese spot in town she checked out, you pay attention because Viet moms are the top competitors of local Viet restaurants. SJ Eggrolls menu has but a few items, which I actually like in restaurants. Aside from reducing diner decision fatigue, a succinct menu means they hone in on making a few things, hopefully well. This is certainly the case here. The must get items are definitely the netted eggrolls and bánh khọt. Fresh, flavorful, and hot, these are the stars of the menu. Not to be forgotten are the supporting cast of regular eggrolls and bún tôm thịt. All these items are pretty solid, but one spot sorely lacking is that there are not enough greens for the bánh khọt and egg rolls. At least for takeout, each of these items only comes with a few leaves of lettuce, not even one for each egg roll or bánh khọt, and just as sparse sprigs of herbs. Another negative note is on one instance when my friends and I ordered bún thịt nướng takeout, I found a metal string in the skewer of pork. That turned me off and I haven't been back since then unfortunately. Lastly, a double edged sword here as well: the food is made fresh, but that means the wait can be long, sometimes even when you order ahead. Hopefully this was just growing pains. I really hope they've sorted out the food safety situation, upped the veggies in the takeout, and improved wait times. I'm not inclined to visit again any time soon but we'll see when the bánh khọt craving strikes.

Yelp
"If you ain't got all the time in the world..." -Nước Mama SJ Eggrolls. Because who has time to finely chop everything, meticulously wrap the chả giò (egg rolls), then batch-fry them? I can barely boil water without burning myself. During the pandemic, SJ Eggrolls started as a home-based catering business and opened their first brick and mortar in October 2024. They've been on my list to go to but it's hard to make it there on the weekdays to avoid the long wait on the weekends. I'm glad I finally made it there be after visiting the Hello Kitty Café at VF because these are the best chả giò I've tried in the bay! I think Nước Mama would approve. Open for takeout and limited dine-in (5 tables). M E N U * Specialty: Chả Giò (egg rolls) and Chả Giò Rế (netted egg rolls) They also have spring rolls, bánh khọt (mini savory pancakes), chicken wings, rice + noodle bowls, and drinks (tea, coffee, sugarcane, etc). Party trays available. Everything is made to order so expect a wait. With no line on a weekday, we were quoted 10 minutes but it took closer to 20 minutes. You can order ahead of time online but need to call for a party tray. F O O D * Egg Rolls Plate (6pc-$13.95): https://tinyurl.com/3xnjaxmd - Request half chả giò and half chả giò rế Fresh out of the fryer, the chả giò rế was hella bomb! Similar to rice paper but with a delicate woven texture, the wrapper poofs when fried creating the most satisfying shatteringly crispy, airy texture. ASMR approved. Generously filled with savory pork, fresh shrimp morsels, sweet carrots, and nutty taro. The best rendition I've tried to date. The regular chả giò was solid. Same filling but with the usual smooth egg roll wrapper. They reheat nicely in the air fryer. Served with a side of lettuce, herbs, and đồ chua (pickled veggies) for DIY wraps. The accompanying nước chấm was well balanced, punchy with good funk and kick of heat. * Nem Nướng Cuốn: Grilled Pork Spring Roll (5 pc-$15.95): https://tinyurl.com/2tty3e4j Rolled nice and tight with a bouncy slice of pork sausage, fresh lettuce, crisp cucumber, scallion, and crunchy egg roll wrapper. Served with a ground pork and glutinous rice based orange sauce. Thick, congee like consistency. A bit sweeter than the norm. It was fine but the nem (pork sausage) could have been a bit thicker like what's pictured. We tried one on-site but the fried egg roll wrapper became soggy by the time I got back home to the city (2 hours later). The fried wrapper was flat instead of a cylinder shape so not sure if that's what caused it to go limp? S E R V I C E Very friendly, welcoming service. Again, expect a wait for your order. A M B I A N C E Bright, casual minimalist with 5 tables and Top 40s playing on the screen. P A R K I N G Unlike the plazas on Tully, Story, and Silver Creek, parking is easy. Overall, BOMB Chả Giò Rế that's worth the trek from the city. A guaranteed hit, order a tray for a party OR for yourself. No judgement...cuz that's what we're doing next time!

Yelp
I love that there's a place that makes banh khot and banh Hoi. I love those little crispy pieces of yumminess. Their garlic noodles are also really good. Bursting with flavor unlike other ones around. This place is really small and probably best for takeout. Nicely decorated and clean. Order ahead of time or you will be waiting at least 25 minutes. It's very easy to order online, although you have to make sure you look through all the options before adding the items to cart. I've order the chicken wings before and didn't know I had to select a flavor and a side. For some reason I was still allowed to check out with it so watch for that or they will call you to clarify. I know that they are big on their woven egg rolls. They're just okay for me. Crispier than the regular ones, but probably up to par when it comes to taste.

Yelp
Please open a location in SSF! Hehehe this place is hella good and satisfies my banh khot fix, but let me tell you about their garlic noodles tho! Their garlic noodles are hella good and garlicky. Everything here from the pandan mochi waffle, nem, crispy egg rolls, and garlic noodles are so tasty. Service is awesome and hella friendly. So glad to try this place! Plenty of parking in the lot.

Yelp
I've ordered several times for party trays for pickup by using the app SJ Eggrolls. It's super convenient and you can pay via app, receive texts when your food is being prepped and ready. Garlic noodles are delicious , netted Eggrolls are tasty with nuoc Cham & stay light and crispy after a few hours. The Nem nuong rolls are good, nothing special, but I really like the shrimp paste rolls. Those were tasty! Highly recommend downloading the app - I've never had any issues with same day orders or food pick up - always on time .

Yelp
Came by to try the banh knot. Small restaurant with just 4-5 tables so if you have a big group, just order to go. Our waiter had excellent customer service and was fully deserving of his tips. Bánh khot: 4.5 stars. comes with fresh veggies and fish sauce. Came out crispy with a plump shrimp in the middle and some sprinkles of sautéed green onions and shredded dried shrimp. Fish sauce was ok. Perhaps the batter could be slightly more savory with less batter -but that's just me. I did eat it wrapped with the veggies so I needed more oomph from the fish sauce. The shrimp wrapped sugar cane and woven vermicelli: 3.5 stars. The vermicelli sheets had plenty of sautéed green onions . But there were only 3 shrimp paste sugar cane and one cut up eggroll. Had lots of vermicelli left. The garlic butter shrimp:4.5 stars. Garlicky shrimp with your choice of rice or garlic noodle. Great flavors for both with plenty of garlic for you garlic lovers.

Yelp
I placed an order for 25 netted egg rolls and 25 vegetarian eggrolls. My order was nearly ready by the time I got there and it was piping hot. The man behind the counter was kind of enough to ask if I needed help to my car. This was for a school potluck, and I felt it hit all the marks. I honestly think the eggrolls are really good when they're still hot or warm. But once they've cooled down, especially the netted ones, weren't as good. It became quite hard. The vegetarian eggrolls were quite tasty and everyone who had some at the party complimented them well.

Yelp
SJ Eggrolls had a steady stream of customers on a holiday weekend. And I recommended calling ahead for party trays. Their Banh Khot is top notch! Crispy edges and soft middle. It comes with lettuce, mint, fish sauce, and pickled carrots and daikon. Their Nem Nuong Cuon was alright; I had better elsewhere. In general, I think it's a good snack but not so much for a full meal unless you're ordering noodle bowl. I was impressed and will have to come back to try their eggrolls and garlic noodles.

Yelp
Waited a total of 45 minutes from ordering on the phone to getting my order in person. When I called and said I'd arrive in 25 minutes, they said it was perfect so I thought my order would be ready when I arrived. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes. I dont think it's worth waiting 30 minutes + for egg rolls in general. That being said, the netted egg rolls are super crunchy and delicious even after driving another 20 minutes to my destination where we ate the egg rolls. The filling was good on its own even without the sauce, but the sauce adds a nice touch. Make sure you are comfortable waiting at least 30 minutes for your order... or until they can somehow turn these out faster. They are made fresh to order! There's a few small tables inside. Definitely about more takeout than dine-in.

Yelp
Food: *pork & shrimp eggroll plate - net eggroll *banh khot plate *grilled pork spring roll Each order is made fresh so can take some time but that was not an issue for us. We placed an order online in advance for pick up. The food is yummy and paired with fish sauce. Adding the sambal to your fish sauce will elevate the experience for those who like spice. Great spot to order party trays from!

Yelp
I am a huge fan of eggrolls. So when I heard about this fairly new eggrolls spot that opened in the San Jose East side area towards Eastridge mall, I wanted to check them out. We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon. The location is in an older plaza area off Capital Expressway and Aborn. Sprouts is located a block away. Parking is easily accessible in the large parking lot area. The restaurant is quite small with about four small tables inside to dine at. It's more of a take out spot. I did notice a lot of party trays were being picked up as well. We ordered the netted eggrolls plate, Banh Khot plate, chicken wings plate and a vermicelli bowl with sugar cane shrimps and an eggroll. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I have never had anything like the netted eggrolls and I liked the crunchy texture of the crispy net. It went well with the pork. The Banh Khot mini cakes had such a unique taste with a shrimp on top. I enjoyed the fish sauce and lettuce with all the dishes. The service was efficient and accommodating. My only gripe is the 25 minutes wait for our food to be done. If only that wait can be cut in half then it would get another star. Overall we enjoyed our experience at SJ Eggrolls. I would recommend for anyone that loves Vietnamese food to try the netted eggrolls and Banh Khot mini cakes.

Yelp
Quick & friendly customer service. Came to check out their food & were definitely pleased! Their garlic shrimp is amazing as well as their garlic noodles. The netted eggrolls are delicious/crispy! The regular eggrolls are also yummy. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
SJ Eggrolls located in the Silver Creek Plaza with Sprouts Farmer's Market, Popeyes, but closer to Subway's and Little Caesar's Pizza. When you walk in, it's has the look and feel of a fast food place/tea place. Though, they do have about 5-6 small tables to sit at. Order with the cashier and they will call your order # when ready. The service was friendly and helpful. I picked up a couple of net eggrolls since that is what they are famous for! This is the frist time trying them, so I am no expert. They come with a crispy netted outside encasing a pork, shrimp, and minced vegetables inside. They are so tasty alone but they offer you a few choices of dipping sauces like the sweetened fish sauce, sweet & Sour, etc. Vietnamese Ice Coffee. I can see the attraction of these netted eggrolls. They do offer other types of rolls which I'll check out another time.

Yelp
It seems like they don't really have anything or many items when you walk in BUT since your reading this & your curious If your into egg rolls or fried yummy goodies, than this is a Must Try & you won't be disappointed & you'll thank me late. They are super friendly when you walk in & they answer any questions you have about the items on the menu. Pricing to me is not too bad, for the items you get & the flavors that comes with them is Worth It Will definitely be visiting this place more often & hope, they stay in business for a good amount of time.

Yelp
Finally tried this place and was so glad I did. This place has become my favorite for their spring rolls! All of the food was so fresh and still crispy even after a 20 minute drive home. These were the best net egg rolls I have tried. I will definitely be back for more and even considered some catering trays for the future.

Yelp
This place is so good! Saw a lot of reviews commenting on the wait time, but I ordered online for a specific pick-up time and the order was ready when I got there. They even called me an hour before to clarify something about my order which I really appreciated. This was even on a weekend when you expect them to be even busier. Bank khot plate: It's been hard to find a really good banh khot place in the bay, so I was super happy to find this spot. These banh khot are so crispy with a decent size shrimp on top of each one (much larger than I expected!). The coconut flavor is also subtle which I prefer. Eggroll plate: We liked this even better than the banh khot. Got their unique net egg rolls which were super crispy on the exterior. Really good filling too, they do not skimp on the meat. We had some left over that we heated up later in the air fryer and it was still so crispy! Both plates came with generous portions of lettuce, pickled daikon/carrots, and fish sauce. Amazing place to check out and will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food is delicious. The service is medium because of the waiting time of takeout items. In addition to that, the 18% tip of takeout items was calculated on the total after tax and was automatically charged to the cards. The place is small.

Yelp
This is 2nd time I ordered food from here. I like the egg roll very much. It is really crunchy even it cooled down. Service is good. It meets my expectations. I will return when I am at the area.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I will always drive out to this place endless times because it is worth the 40 minute drive from the east to the south bay for these delicious egg rolls and banh khot. Banh khot - Delicious. Crispy, the shrimp was plump, and the batter was oh so light. The fish sauce and pickling of the carrots and daikon was near perfection. I can still remember how the crispiness made a nice crunch sound upon every bite! Net egg roll - Solid! I love this style of egg roll! The wrapper itself was light and oh so crispy, perhaps crispier than regular egg roll skins. The filling itself was nicely prepared and filled with meat and various other veggies. I can't stop thinking about them! Super solid spot for all the egg roll and banh khot needs!

Yelp
Driving about I noticed this spot and decided to give it a go. First step in Im met with happy faces and relaxing music in the background. Their service is wonderful and they are good people, the food and drink variety is pretty good in my opinion. I got a snack and one of my favorite drinks and they came out fantastic. Timing was slow at the time because they got slammed but they are honestly trying to pump out orders with a full case of food for people to pick up. Overall I enjoyed my visit and will probably come back for another bite and sip!

Yelp
This place open up by my house and been wanting to try it for a while. We came in around 10am and was immediately greeted with a warm smile. I love it when Asian restaurants actually show some hospitality and make me feel welcome. The place is mostly togo but they have a few tables if you want to eat real quick and leave. Everything in the restaurant looks nice and clean. Now on to the food! We ordered a few items and everything was delicious. The banh khot was crispy and full of umami with the sauce they give you. The wings also came extra hot and crunchy. I've seen other peoples reviews saying this place have a long wait time but I didn't wait that long. It was about 10-15 minutes for food that is cooked to order. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Yummy egg rolls! The staff were polite and nice. Wait time was long but they do warn you beforehand. Roughly 40 minutes for my order. They make everything fresh. Next time I'm definitely going to order ahead. The place itself is fairly small with only 3-4 tables. They do catering orders, which is good to know for future events/parties. Menu is pretty straightforward. My group of friends and I ordered a variety of items to share. Net egg roll $12.95 Regular egg roll plate $12.95 Bánh khot $13.95 Chinese sausage spring roll $11.95 Grilled pork spring roll $11.95 Grilled pork meatball woven vermicelli noodle bowl $14.95 I liked how they don't skimp out on the filling and egg roll was so crispy! Not too oily. Bánh khot is not bad. I really liked the grilled pork spring roll. The sauce that comes with it was addicting! I still like brodard and Quan nem ninh hoa more though. But this place can definitely satisfy my cravings. They are generous on the veggies. Packaged with care. All in all, be prepared to wait... but it's worth it if you like egg rolls (not the oily kind).

Yelp
Tried SJ Eggroll after seeing them on social media. It's a smaller restaurant with limited seating, but the food and service are both good. We tried a few of their rolls, and I really liked the Nem spring rolls and their Banh Khot. Solid spot for tasty bites, though it still doesn't beat the Banh Khot lady in Orange County. My only gripe is that they forgot my to-go order was ready and it sat on the pickup shelf for about 30 minutes. Still, great place for quick, flavorful eats in San Jose.

Yelp
We finally got to try SJ Eggrolls! They close at 6pm or 7PM(Fri/Sat), so this is more of a lunch/early dinner place. The inside is bright, clean, and modern. We ordered: - Fresh Sugarcane with Kumquat: I could see the girl make the sugarcane juice fresh from a machine--super refreshing - Banh Khot Plate: yummy palm-sized pancakes with a shrimp and roe on top. This was yummy and easy to eat. - Eggroll Plate: I got 5 net and 1 regular eggroll to try both. My favorite was the net eggroll! If you wrap the lettuce around the net eggroll the outside doesn't fall as much. Dip it in the fish sauce and it's soo good! Everything came out piping hot and fresh. We got here around 1:15pm and only had to wait about 15min. Tips: - Sign up for their free membership at the register for 10% off your first purchase and 5% every purchase thereafter. -There are 5 tables for indoor dining -There is a bathroom available as well. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Bookmarked this spot after seeing it on IG, bc I'm always on the hunt for good banh khot to feed my soul! Location: In East Side $J- something to consider if you're traveling from outside of San Jose bc there is always a lot of traffic on the busy main roads (Capitol Expressway, King Rd, Tully, etc.) PLUS they close pretty early on the weekdays, which made it challenging for me to drop by after the 9-5 work day. Pricing: $$, not cheap but also not overpriced. Reasonable considering it's a small business and everything is so expensive period. Gotta keep supporting local businesses! Service: It's a family-run business, so you can definitely feel the love in the room and food, buttt when it's busy- just expect them to be busy/brief as they are doing their best to fulfill the many orders that are coming in. They have signs to note that their food is made to order and made FRESH- so of course it's going to take a little longer from when you order. Just manage your time a little better, bc waiting for the fresh food is WORTH it. Ambience: Truthfully a small space, and could maybe benefit to having additional seating outside especially bc it does take at least 20 mins to wait for an order and the food IN MY OPINION is best enjoyable when seated. There were only about 4 tables to fit 2-3 people each, so we ate in the car. (hard to eat Banh khot in the car) But I mean, with all of their success, they'll continue to grow as a business and into a larger space. But "hole in the wall", "Mom and Pop" restaurants are always the best anyway. Food: SO sad that they ran out of net eggrolls, but also not surprised. Definitely will try to come a little earlier on a weekend to try! Nem Nuong - The rice paper was soo soft, and an enjoyable chewy texture. I've had tough and stale rice paper wrapping from other places, but the rice paper in these spring rolls were made perfectly! The crispy rice paper inside- STILL CRISPY. The sauce- tangy, salty, sweet. I would compare this Nem Nuong pretty close to Brodard's in Southern California. Banh Khot - For sure one of my favorite banh khot I've had so far. Loved the generous portion of the pancakes. But the batter... crispy and so full of flavor!!.. stole the show. I always look for batter where you can taste the coconut milk, and these were on POINT! The shrimp were prepared well- devained, cooked to plumped perfection and seasoned well. And of course accompanied with fresh herbs and fish sauce to dipp! Overall rating a 4.5, loved the food and definitely coming back! There are some things to consider and IN MY OPINION, are not considerably problematic.

Yelp
The spring rolls here are excellent! They are fresh roll. The standard pork and shrimp was perfect. Definitely fresh shrimp and vegetables. The grilled pork is really good. Definitely a must order. The Chinese sausage I thought was ok. I think I will just do the grilled pork and pork and shrimp the next time I come back. Got the banh khot plate and it was delicious. Nice and crispy and flavorful. Thin and light. The eggroll plate was excellent. Deep fried and crispy. The flavors was perfect. Definitely will come back next time in the area and will order the eggroll tray to bring to events. Not many tables as this is more of a Togo type of place. Lots of parking in the parking lot

Yelp
So so so good. I can't emphasize enough but it is pricey. Worth it? Depends on the person, but I will order for myself not coworkers cuz only for me!!!!!

Yelp
I couldn't decide what to order, so I ordered a bit of everything lol. (You can do half half to try more items too). Everything is made to order so you do have to wait a bit but it's worth it for that hot and fresh crisp of things. Egg rolls / net egg rolls : comes with a bag of veggies, fish sauce, and container of carrots/daikon. The net egg roll was my favorite of the two. Even re-air fries nicely. Fish sauce wings/ butter wings: nice and crispy. Banh khot - personal fav item. It was sooo crispy and not too thick of a batter like some other places. Nem nuong - also really enjoyed this. Dipping sauce was great

Yelp
Super convenient for takeaway or large party orders! Food Eggroll Plate (3-Net eggrolls/3-Eggrolls) Chicken Wings Plate (Fish Sauce Chicken Wings and Garlic Noodles) Grilled Pork Spring Rolls The eggrolls were made fresh and served with a bag of vegetables. The net eggrolls were crunchy and not oily. The fish sauce chicken wings had a nice layer of the marinade and not overly coated. The garlic noodles were chewy and had a nice flavor profile. The grilled pork spring rolls wasn't my favorite. The pork (nem Nuong) wasn't grilled and would taste better if it was cooked a bit more. The sauce served with the dish has a similar taste to Brodards; not quite the same. There's party platters available on the menu and will definitely order it. Customer Service The staff was very super friendly and informed me that it would take 15-20 minutes for my order to be ready. When my order was ready, the staff thoroughly packed it. Ambiance There's bright white lighting and several tables to sit and dine in or wait while orders are being prepared. The owner was present and was hands-on with helping his team. There's a deli counter with a display case with net eggrolls and eggrolls, pate chaud, and other pastries. Location/Parking It is located a couple of doors down from Subway and Little Caesars. Parking is a bit tricky during peak hours.

Yelp
Their egg rolls here are so good! We al said order a tray whenever we have parties or an event at work. Make sure you call ahead to place an order in advance for trays. Sometimes they have their website where you can order ahead like plates and such. I haven't tried their drinks but they look good!

Yelp
I tried the garlic noodles and net eggrolls here. The flavor was okay but not fully satisfying , the garlic noodles were too oily and had a strong raw garlic taste, while the eggrolls were not crispy enough, with a thick wrapper and hard to taste the taro or shrimp inside. Hope the restaurant can adjust the balance and make the dishes lighter and more flavorful.
