Yelp
Elevated decor with a local bar feel. Not just somewhere to drink, but an experience. The kind of place that remembers your usual drink and your usual is probably DELICIOUS!!
LOCATION:
In an unassuming industrial building, down the hall, then a left and a right and another left. Just follow the signs. They're fun and lead you down a community college feeling pathway to their front door which opens into a dark intimately lit room with an L shaped bar, a few tables and a view of the distillery equipment which just has such a nice vibe in the background.
DECOR:
Everything above the lights is black. Black walls with dark or illuminated orange accents. Luxurious spot lighting and Japanese inspired artwork behind the bar. Did I mention the fog? There's something about fog in a place that just sets the mood to fun and chill.
PRICE:
A bit on the pricier side, but these are much classier cocktails. Average about $15 per handcrafted cocktail. $12-$36 for a take home bottle depending on size and your of alcohol. (Vodka, bourbon, rum)
Assorted Asian nuts & pretzels- $4
House Tom Yum seasoned pitted olives- $7
Housemade hummus and warm pita bread- $9
DRINKS:
Drinks? No. Liquid orgasms made to please. Yeah. That's what I'll call them. Lomps. Lol.
Fjord Horse was a masterpiece made with aquavit, house ginger beer, ginger, lime, galangal, lingonberry & hibiscus ice. Holy moly. My partner had 2 for her 40th birthday and could not have been more pleased!
The Mike Tyson is good as well, but we asked for a non alcoholic version and was given an orange creamcicle whipped to perfection with nitrogen and almond whipped cream! It literally melted in my mouth like cotton candy ice cream in mid July!
FOOD:
Those olives plus the pita bread were plenty for 2 people and mighty delicious. I like olives, but have never been able to eat them served alone. Well, not until now. Don't sleep on the pita bread either. Everyone loved the hummus, but I don't like hummus. It's a texture thing for me.
STAFF:
Staff?! Please! Tyson and Nelson welcomed us in like family! They were social and kind and knew their ish about the drinks they made. Tyson brews the goods and Nelson crafts the magic.
EXPERIENCE:
I came here with my partner and her best friend for my partner's 40th bday. We walked along the path marked by cheeky signs with sayings like, "you're almost there" and "just a bit further."
Once we arrived at the door, we rang the doorbell, and waited a few seconds before we were let in. And when I walked through that door, my mouth dropped. It was one of the most exciting transitions as we went from a faceless hallway to an upscale club with an exclusive underground vibe.
We had reservations and were seated at the bar which we had to ourselves for most of the time. We spent our time socializing back and forth. Watching drinks created in front of us with nitrogen and fog flowing all around us.
It was the most fun I have had sitting at a bar that wasn't celebrating someone's 21st birthday. Drinks were flowing and lips were flapping. It was an all-around good time.
