I just left here after having the worst dinner I've ever had We got there at 4:45pm and the server offered to sit us at the bar or outside. We stupidly agreed to sit outside since there were 2 heaters next to each chair. Spoiler alert: it was freezing and miserable! We ordered 1 pepperoni pizza and 1 saffron miso pasta. The food came out quick but the it was awful. The pizza was so soggy that there were holes in the crust. And it looked like they chose the cheapest pepperoni possible. We make pizza every week at home in our pizza oven and this one was just terrible. We stopped here on our way to LAX before boarding a 16 hour flight to Asia. We had no choice but to finish the food since we're going on such a long flight. The server told us to "let her know" the next time if we have issues. She didn't come to check on us once so I'm not sure how we would've "let her know" Terrible food and terrible service. We won't be back. The entire meal lasted less than 20 minutes and now our noses are both sniffling since it was so cold outside.

Legit good pizza!!! They had the most unique pizzas I’ve ever had. The avacado was our favorite. The zucchini crust had a good taste it texture was off for me. The butter nut squash and artichoke pizzas were very good too. Super enjoyable with a great view!

We ate here four times during our one week visit to Newport Beach since the food was outstanding. Especially enjoyed the avocado pizza and wood fired carrots. Also recommend the pesto pasta!

Sitting beside grand boats in the marina, perfect 75° weather, girlfriends, Sauvignon blanc…and then the pizzas. Wow, what a perfect lunch experience. So many wood fired veggie choices, such unique pizzas. The artichoke and the avocado were both amazing and we are glad we started with the carrots. Just wow. Can’t wait to try a wine dinner.

I loved this little restaurant in the marina. The place has amazing views for a nice meal. The pizzas are out of this world, made with fresh ingredients and great seasoning. It gets pretty busy but still, we managed to get a table outside after a brief wait. They have a wide range of options, from vegetarian to gluten free dishes, as well as wine and cocktails. The service is pretty good, they were really attentive and polite.

Tip: park in the garage. They will validate your parking ticket at the restaurant. It may not cover the entire bill. We still paid $15. Wonderful customer service from Michelle and chef, Roberto!

Best dining experience we’ve had in Newport Beach - vibes off the charts, beautiful back bay harbor views. Luke is a total vibe himself, great energy and positivity, and every recommendation he gave was a 10/10. Perla also was a rockstar and it’s clear they work as a team support each other and their guests, which is seen / valued / appreciated by your guests. Anyways.. the pizza - if you leave here without trying the Pineapple you will absolutely regret it. And definitely add a side of ranch. Enjoy!

New to the area a friend suggested the delicious food at Skal. It was fresh and the choices were fantastic for vegans and meat eaters alike. But what will make me loyal to this spectacular place is Payton the most delightful server i've ever met. I travel For food so that speaks volumes. His joy is infectious and it was a pure delight to have him tend to our needs. We will be back and be sure to sit at his table!

Our waiter was extremely friendly and enthusiastic about the restaurant's dishes. He made the dining experience fun and exciting and brightened up our meal. A fellow diner started crying because she found his friendliness and enthusiasm refreshing. Loved the basic Margherita pizza with sausage!!

My family came here tonight and had a mixed experience. The food was great! The artichoke pizza in particular was really good! Location is amazing! However the service was extremely poor, we felt completely ignored. Placed part of our order when we sat down and asked to order more food in a few minutes once we decided. Took over 20 minutes to get a waiters attention again. At the end of the meal, we ended up needing the help of another guest to flag down a staff member because they were hoping to get our table after us. At that point, we had waited over 15 min for someone to stop by, and were literally standing around our table waiting for them to come over to us. I hope other guests don't have the same negative experience with the service we did. It will definitely keep us from considering coming back.

My new favorite spot! Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere right on the harbor and sweet, friendly, helpful and sincere service. The flavors, quality of ingredients and care in preparation were absolute perfection. We had a lovely tomato pizza, wood fired zucchini with vegan green goddess dip & and roasted carrots with labne & sweet chili sauce and it was all delightful. The two people working front if the house were so kind, helpful, efficient and attentive- honestly couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely be back soon. Best place on the harbor.

Interesting menu and food combinations. The ingredients were very fresh and dishes were served beautifully. We ordered everything crust smoked salmon pizza and Greek salad hummus pizza and ratatouille salad. Pizza dough is very thin and crispy at the edges. Everything bagel crust was thumbs up. Ratatouille salad surprised me by the way it was served: it is a salad and it has roasted thinly sliced zucchini, eggplant, sweet potatoes and a flavourful sunflower dressing. Fresh and crisp. It was convenient that you could choose a table when they were not busy. The food arrived fast. The atmosphere was super relaxing: we ate with a view on the bay and yachts. Nice place to have something different.

This is the perfect place for a beautiful view especially on a beautiful summer day with blue skies and the blue ocean. The hostess and our server were both great and gave us good suggestions. We came here during happy hour and we got the artichoke pizza and the browned beet pasta. The pizza was delicious especially if you like artichoke and the dough was fresh and tasty! The pasta is very unique and tasted amazing!!! The location is perfect as you can take a beautiful stroll around the area after your meal. I would like to try other things on the menu for sure.

Came here for Father's Day lunch with my wife and daughters. We didn't get any pictures of the pizza but the food was delicious. We sat outside and were very excited that we did. Our service wasn't very attentive but it was Father's Day and a lot of people were eating here. Will definitely come back

Came to Skal Pizza for lunch with a friend and we loved this spot! The servers/staff were so friendly and the food was incredible. We ordered the carrots as an appetizer and the charred ranch salad and pineapple pizza as our mains. The flavor profiles of all the dishes were so fun and different! If you're a pineapple pizza fan, theirs is next level. Will definitely be back!

The food here is amazing! We ordered the grilled artichoke appetizer and it was great. All of the pizzas are tasty as well. While the food was great. The restaurant is very small with only 3 people cooking. With that in mind the service was beyond terrible! We were ignored for most of the time we were there and it took 2 hours before we even received our appetizer and then 40 minutes after that to get our pizzas. I won't be dining here again - unless it's takeout. Very disappointing.

Ok.. so sometimes five star reviews may be overrated. Whether it's for the sake of being recognized and not wanting a booger experience or it happened to be a passionate day for the hands massaging my food or there's a gun to my head forcing out all the smiles but this five star.. this one is fully earned with what they offer and do. What kicks off this delish mouthwatering experience was a menu filled with incredible choices. Everything from the damn personal French pressed tea to the carefully yet complimentary pairing of ingredients leaves one longing to go find a priest and confess all of your mama's wrong doings. All the ingredients are visible with even the faintest glance, fresh and unblemished. Miso saffron pasta comes with its very own comforting creaminess holding, hugging spirals of pasta that just leaves you wanting more. Wishing for the plate to never empty. And that fried egg only kicked up the flavor profiles, if that's even possible. The sunflower ratatouille was.. so saucy and so full of texture and flavor. All the ingredients are cooked separately but candied in mandoline unison. I felt like I was eating my favorite kind of snacks and dinner all in one sitting. The only thing I may want is to have a little less sauce in the salads but who am I to mess with perfection. The plentiful sunflower seeds provides the missing remaining crunch and nuttiness one expects of in any salad. And their pizzas.. after just having tried one, I'm almost positively confident that you cannot go wrong with any of them. For those of you craving for marinara, you'll want to stay away, because it'll be difficult not to just tackle that pizza oven bar. Then demand for more. And more. And more. It's so light and tomatoy with a touch of honey or maple syrup and a scootch of cayenne? Whatever the case, I now can't live without it. Please keep up the magnificent work you guys!! If I had a ton of money I would throw it all at you for a kitchen in my home and lipo in my bath.

My friend took me to Skal Pizza for a casual dinner. We got to Skal around 6pm on a Thursday night. There was outdoor seating on the deck, but all the tables were reserved for a party. We were able to snag a couple of seats at the bar, and I'm glad we did. Felt like it was the best seat in the house. I appreciated the open kitchen and how you can see them prepare the meals and fire up the pizzas. Additionally, we had the best bartender. Wish I recalled his name so that I could give him the proper kudos. All I remember was him being a young gentlemen with curly hair if that helps. He was super friendly and attentive, and he whipped up an amazing tasting cocktail for us called Swiss Marg. Highly recommend this drink, by the way. It was a cucumber drink, so it was super refreshing. We also took on all his food recommendations, and he did not disappoint. What incredible food! I was highly impressed by everything I ate at Skal. We ordered the butternut squash and sage pizza, saffron miso pasta with a fried egg, and caramelized banana with coconut cream. The ingredients really tasted quality and fresh.

I cannot get enough of this place! Beautiful views. Delicious food. I have loved the salads and appetizers that we've tried. And I keep dreaming about the tomato pizza. This is a must try place!

Can't believe I haven't made my way out here sooner!! 12/10 because not only did the food surpass my expectations but the service was top notch - BIG thanks to Luke and team for taking care of us because we were in a bit of a rush to get to an appointment! The artichoke & white sauce pizza was out of this world delicious. Do yourself a favor and drizzle some chili oil on it for the best experience! The salad was so refreshing and the only thing I didn't like about it was that we ran out of it too quickly (as in, I totally DEVOURED that amazing fig-balsamic vinaigrette). If we weren't on a time crunch yesterday, I would've begged the chefs for the dressing recipe! If you're into wine, the New Zeland sauv blanc they've got available is the perfect pairing for these items. Definitely give that a try and eat out on the patio because the views and breeze from the harbor are just perfect on a nice sunny day! The vibes were immaculate!

I've been waiting to go here and we finally were able to check it out! We ordered the everything crust and lox pizza. I asked for the pickled onion and capers on the side as I'm not a huge fan of either but we realized later it most likely took away from the full intended taste. Either way, we enjoyed it. The pizza was fresh and I'm looking forward to going back and trying another! We had kind service and the ambiance was laid back/chill. There's indoor and outside seating. There's outdoor heaters if you find that the weather is on the chiller side and you'd like to sit outside. The restaurant overlooks the water and it's a beautiful view!

Smelled the pizza walking by and had to grab a pie. Got the tomato pizza, was tempted to add salami but honestly even on its own it was very good. The crust was crisp and soft inside, just delicious. Everything tasted super fresh. I would definitely come back!

LOVED THIS PLACE!!! I love how the food tastes so so fresh. You can tell that the pasta is hand made and the sauce was just so fresh and delicious. Our food came out quick, although we wouldn't mind waiting as the view is absolutely breath taking. The location is amazing. I love Lido on a nice summer day. Great vibes at this place. I will need to come back to try more!

Great food and vibes right by the waterside at Lido Island. Came here with one of my girl friends on a Saturday right when it opened at 12. We were the first ones in the restaurant, and luckily we came right at opening! It got pretty busy fast. There's not too many inside/outdoor seating so def expect a wait. This was more of a self-serve restaurant - we ordered right at the front as we walked in and chose our own seating. Service was great and food came out fast. We ordered the butternut squash and sage pizza as well as the arugula and seasonal fruit salad. Both had amazing flavors - would definitely order again! I don't get vegetarian food often, but I could definitely go vegetarian if I could eat these dishes everyday. Everything on the menu looked good too, so would definitely come back to try more!

First of all, best view ever. The ambiance and vibe of this restaurant is unbeatable. This was the best pizza we have ever had & there was AMAZING service. Sat us early, offered a blanket and heater to be turned on upon arrival, and food was served so quickly. Our server, Payton, was SO kind and attentive. The flavors of the pizza (we got tomato and added prosciutto, and the butternut squash with pancetta) were so fresh, light, and flavorful. Amazing hot honey! We also got the kale Caesar to start and it was so delicious and fun breaking our salad open. The flavor of the salad was UNREAL too, 10/10 recommend. To top it off, as we were eating, our waiter took a dog next to us a complimentary bowl of water. Soooo nice!! We will be back.

Decided to try Skal with my three best gal pals for a casual Sunday evening dinner in Lido. Such a cozy, inviting eatery with staff just as warm and friendly. It's truly the perfect addition to lido village. My group can be picky with our taste and dietary restrictions, etc. Thus, we often prefer to order "family style" when dining out so we can try a bit of everything. We landed on a number of small plates (veggies, salads) plus a couple of pizzas. All PERFECT for sharing! Menu standouts: Artichoke/fontina pizza (MUST add mushrooms - highly recommend). Order the carrots as a starter; (I could eat these everyday). Ingredients were so fresh while still indulgent. Plus, Didn't feel heavy after like you do with your traditional Italian restaurants. Safe to say: we can't wait to return and will be trying the pasta next time!

You can't beat the ambiance of this spot. It's right on the water and there's often music floating in from nearby. Pizza is solid CA pizza with interesting combinations. The carrots were SO good. I'd come back just for them, haha! Service was friendly but super slow. I had to get up and go inside a few times to get items they forgot to bring like water, napkins, an extra plate. Also dog friendly!! We saw a bunch to takeout orders getting picked up. It is a great spot to grab a bite and go sit on the beach.

was a bit difficult to find this place because the restaurant is pretty hidden, and the signage out in the front was not that noticeable the first time we walked past it. you place an order first at the cash register and then seat yourself. This place is self service which we weren't fully aware of - we were not told until we went up to an employee like 3 times asking if we can get water, napkins, utensils, etc which all ended up being outside of the restaurant. our food came out fairly quickly, and our server/cashier was nice.  As for the food, I didn't think the pastas were that great and the portions were pretty small considering the price. one of the pasta's had a really strong smell which made the dinner less appetizing. The pizza was recommended and was one of the top 3 but it was weirdly sweet. didn't finish the food so we just asked for to go boxes for everything. - saffron miso pasta - spinach & pesto pasta - bbq corn pizza - strawberry marshmallow (dessert)

This is such a great place! The food is so unique and all of the items we've had on the menu so far have not disappointed. This is definitely a repeat! The service is great as well, very polite and attentive. Ambiance is great with pretty boats and an ocean view. One critique I will add though is their signs for happy hour times are not accurate... their website says mon, thurs, fri 2-5. I called on a Thursday and the worker said mon-fri 2-5 (also says on a sign outside the restaurant). I went on a Friday and they said they weren't doing happy hour at all. Kind of a bummer if you've driven a long way to enjoy their great happy hour deals, for some it's the happy hour specials that attract some people to choose one place over the other so it's a little misleading.

LOVE this new addition to Lido The food is delicious and the vibe is spot on. I just wish it was open later for dinner because we'd be here all the time! My favorite salad was the roasted vegetable salad- the sunflower ratatouille. I loved the sweet potato and eggplant and the dressing was so good!! We also really liked the cruciferous pizza (w/ shaved Brussel sprouts and cauliflower). The only complaint was that it was a bit salty both times we ordered it. My husband also ordered the tomato and added pepperoni but he scarfed it down so fast that I didn't get a chance to even try it . He said it was delicious though we'll just need to make another visit!

I felt like the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I didn't feel like the staff was super attentive. I was told if you posted on instagram, that you could get a free dessert. I went in to show my post and ordered the dessert, but after 20 min or so, nothing came. We were the only ones there.

This Swedish-Italian restaurant is tucked away by the harbor with a small indoor space and a bunch of outdoor tables. Their menu has so many unique pasta, pizza, sandwich, and salad dishes, along with a bar and juices as well. I tried the Saffron Miso pasta, which was absolutely delicious. It was cheesy but not too heavy, and the saffron flavor was wonderful. Their portions are a bit on the small size so it's best to get one entree per person, plus appetizers/salads. It's a casual order at the counter type of spot so it's first come first serve with no reservations. They are also mostly vegetarian with lots of vegan options too!

I loved the food. Honestly not a fan of seating arrangements they have. Seating to face the water is too limited so there are tables and chairs off to the side. I also don't like the idea of fast casual dining experience here in this area, i would prefer order while I'm seated.. in my opinion better as a lunch or brunch place too casual for d dinner unless you're in the area and just want to do something quick. The food was amazing so it's worth going here such a cute lunch spot. Many vegan options.

Nestled along the boat docks in Lido Newport, this restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is simply amazing, with a menu that guarantees there's no wrong choice. Their ability to elevate even the most unexpected items! Tucked away in a corner, the ambiance is quieter than other spots along the dock, offering stunning views of the water and yachts. Our server was not only attentive but also had a great sense of humor, adding to the overall experience. During our sunset meal, we savored drinks and indulged in the sunflower ratatouille salad (a server recommendation that exceeded expectations), the saffron miso pasta, and the butternut sage and squash pizza. Each dish was a delight, making this restaurant a standout destination. Can't wait to return!

Service was attentive. Tables a bit small especially the 2 tops. Food was ok. Enjoyed the kale ceasar and carrots. Pizzas were unique but didn't blow me away. The avocado one seemed like it was their version of avacado toast. The pineapple pizza was average. Pizzas were small for the price point.

Nice place to sit by the water and watch the boats go by. They turn the heaters on so you can stay warm when it's chilly. We split a pizza which was the perfect amount. Shout out to Lucas for recommending adding mushrooms to our pizza. The flavor was incredible.

Skal pizza is a magical seaside spot to try Viking pizza in Newport Beach. The views are picturesque of Newport Harbor and the docks lined with incredible yachts, there's a plethora of foot traffic strolling by, making this eatery great for people watching. The servers are kind, thoughtful, and considerate. The sunflower ratatouille was flavorful and very earthen; and the butternut squash pizza was too spicy for my liking, with a bit of a scorched taste.

Loved everything about this place! Lovely staff and lovely setting. Got an excellent Italian rose, the kale salad was great too the a wonderful dressing and radicchio with a shell of Parmesan to break in as croutons - the zucchini pizza with pesto and pineapple was lovely and light yet crunchy and tasty.

Great for a casual bite to eat on the marina. Tables are all first come first serve so I recommend someone find a table while the other orders when they are busy. The service here is great everyone was really nice, super easy going and laid back. I highly recommend the passion fruit mule! It's not too sweet, refreshing and just right. Most of their food is vegetarian/gf but you can add a protein if you'd like.

Located at lido village towards the end on the right (if you are looking at the water) and same owners of Malibu farm restaurant. Mainly went here to try some of the vegan and veggie dishes. Cute inside with farmhouse feel. You order at the counter, which I don't love... and how they only have QR code menu for cocktails. They were out of 2 wines that we wanted but ended up getting the Chablis wine which was good. We got the artichoke pizza (vegan) and brown butter beet pasta. They both came at different times to our table. The pasta was okay, it was good but missing something. Kinda small portion but at the same time it was a lot of just the same thing, as there wasn't really anything else in it besides the pistachio nut toppings. The artichoke pizza was really good - nice crust, not dry, you couldn't even tell it was vegan, had a lot of artichoke. (Would recommend getting that again) The server recommend the ratatouille salad.... Which we thought we ordered but didn't receive it Of course can't beat the view right on the water. *closed Tuesday And Wednesday

What a little gem in Lido! We were craving some pizza and found this new spot. Great location overlooking the water. The kale Caesar was fantastic with a crispy layer of Parmesan cheese on top which was unique. The tomato pizza had a very crispy crust and hit the spot. They have seating inside and outside with a cute little bar. Dylan was a great bartender/server and gave us a great experience: will definitely come back.

I will definitely visit again and try their pizzas fresh. I ordered to go and maybe that is why they were just okay. Nothing to write home about. My favorite was the BBQ corn pizza. I typically like butternut squash and sage pizza and pasta but not this one. The tomato was okay. Overall I'm glad this place is here because side of visit Lido Village often and it's a good option to have.

Loved everything we ordered! Best pie was the BBQ corn pizza with shaved turkey-spicy and so flavorful. The saffron misa pasta was so yummy we ordered a second bowl-buttery and fresh! Guests with us said the Arugula And Seasonal Fruit Salad was the best salad they've ever had. The Tomato Pizza was a 4 out of 5 but everything else was 5 stars.

Omg this place is absolutely amazing. The owner is Swedish and the name is a Swedish word that Swedes use to cheers their drinks. The place is pretty small but we didn't have to wait at all when we got there. It's located in the lido village complex. Parking was free for two hours with validation. There's both inside and outdoor seating but we sat inside. It's clean and the ocean air is super refreshing. Service was excellent. Very kind waiters and staff. Everything came out extremely quick. There's a pizza oven so the pizza tasted super fresh. The salads were amazing. The carrots with the yogurt dressing was delicious. Kids loved their butter pasta and cheese pizza. This place was perfect. I can't recommend it enough.

Just had a reservation for 7:30 party of 4. We checked in at 7:30. They were about to seat us in a table of four. Then, told us this table is taken...for two. Next to this table was an empty table for two. We were told we'd have to wait approx 25 mins for another table. Terrible customer service. Cannot opine on the food.

What could be a bad about a killer Italian restaurant on the bay in lido with great service, reasonable prices, incredible food great wine, awesome view and a fun vibe? Nothing! There is nothing I don't like about this place. The two best pizzas in all of Orange County are Folk Pizza and Skal. No reason to go anywhere else.

The ambience near the water is stunning. Saffron Miso Pasta: Flavor: 4.5/5 The depth of flavor of this house made pasta was exquisite. Portion: 1/5 The portion was about the size of an adult fist. It was rather disappointing to see how small this dish was and felt that it was overpriced for what we received. Artichoke and white sauce pizza: Flavor: 3.5/5 It tasted fine, but nothing extraordinary. Portion: 3/5 The pizza was about the size of a dinner plate. Seating arrangement: 2/5 You order your food and then find a table. A number of people would save spots first before even lining up to order. After ordering, we looked around for tables. A few of them were waiting to be cleaned. This seating arrangement and service did not match the menu pricing.

Best food and service ever, Dylan and Zach are my favorite server + bartender duo and part of the reason why I keep coming back. Just wish they kept the soup on for longer!

The pizza crust was kind of stale as if it wasn't baked fresh and the Cesar salad was nothing special. Service was slow and had to ask for water and cleaning of our table.
