Tried the North Shore Beef sandwich at this Cambridge location as someone who's familiar with the original North Shore versions. While it's a decent option if you're craving this style of sandwich and can't make it to the coast, it doesn't quite capture the authentic experience. The flavors are there, but something about the execution - whether it's the bread, the seasoning, or the overall preparation - falls short of what you'd get at the original spots. It's serviceable if you're in the area and have the craving, but manages to be just okay rather than memorable.

We loved this place conveniently located, good food. The amount of food for the price was very good. I would go back. I got the seafood combo it was delicious. The second time I had the haddock dinner also great. All their dinners come with fries and onion rings so it's a plate that 2 people can share. The only thing that I didn't like was the inside tables were rarely clean you have to ask.

Nice large helping of pasta for only $12. I ordered Alfredo with chicken and broccoli and the guy explained what they have isn't Alfredo from cream but but from oil and I said SEND IT. Foods delicious, feels original like there's some old Italian grandma in back whippin it up. Id recommend

I had a beautiful colorful salad - yes it was beautiful with all the goodies - in Cambridge, Massachusetts at Skampa. It was called: The Greek with a Twist! Not only do they serve delicious subs but also salads. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Stopped by on a whim while biking through the area. The nice man taking my order gave me some recommendations. The chicken wrap I had was absolutely delicious! I will be back soon to try other items.

Meh, the meat came undercooked and chewy. I ended up throwing more than half. No special sauce for meat, greasy fries (humongous portion), too salty. Maybe just a temporal hiccup but I would not say they have a good roast beef sandwich even if all of the above was better.

Skampa is one of the best roast beef and sub shops I’ve ever been to. The food is amazing and consistent (something that is very important in a restaurant) and the prices are very cheap. Plentiful servings make for a great lunch or dinner; I would recommend their roast beef dinner, all of this was only $8.50. Definitely check them out!

Pizza tasted good, very cheesy and it was not too thick, cheese sticks very cheesy and crunchy cooked to perfection. First time eating here and was very pleased by taste of food.

Recently I've been trying the hamburgers in my neighborhood and scampa is surprisingly the best. The food is fresh. The burger is fresh. The size is big. The price is low. You really should be trying the burgers from skampa if you've never tried it. It was really easy to order online and it was ready fast. I love this place. The guys who work here are kind and I want everyone to support this local business

Got the cheeseburger sub, for $10 came packed with the meat of two full burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. they cooked it medium as requested and it was delicious and done quick . My friend got some kind of chicken goodness salad, He said the portion was good, the amount of chicken was great for the price. Will definitely go there again .

Excellent pizza--one of the best if not the best in Cambridge. I call them directly, they prepare the pizza in less than 15 minutes. Nothing crazy, just good pizza with good ingredients. They also do sandwiches, but I haven't tried them yet.

I've traveled from the sunny state of Florida twice for nothing other than a bag of the crispiest most delicious fries a girl could ask for. Hungover? Skampa fries. Heartbroken? Skampa fries. I was in Boston for a lil trip and stopped by this corner sandwich shop for a bit to eat! And I can tell you - it was more like 5 bites to eat, the portions are huge! I ordered a pastrami sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised it came LOADED with pastrami, along with friendly service from the staff I will definitely come back to this shop next time I am in the Cambridge area!

Skampa was such a great find. Why? They are extremely friendly, and their food portions are huge! I was in the area, craving a healthy lunch, and was really hunger and so glad I stumbled on Skampa. Ordered: The Greek Salad, with grilled chicken (they give 7-8 ounces!). Would be enough for 2 meals, except I was hungry so... Thanks, Skampa!

This is by far my absolute favorite place to eat in this area!! Best roast beef sandwich you'll ever have. The chicken heaven wrap is aptly named! The fries are always crispy and fresh. The people who work here are the friendliest people ever! Definitely can't beat the prices, especially for such high quality food!

Still great, after all these years. Delivery to Central Square was prompt, using their online ordering - ignore the pictures. Pastrami = Hubby Heaven. [lettuce & mayo] Super Roast Beef = Yummy, though not as much meat as I'd thought, it was still delicious. Roast Beef Sub = Delicious, and huge - be sure to ask for salt and pepper, with Bbq + mayo. Steak Bomb = 5+ stars, so good. Esp with oil, vinegar, salt, & pepper. Fries = Hot and perfectly cooked. Onion Rings - bland and not nearly as tasty as the rest - kinda flabby and oily, and strange tasting? Just order more fries. Grilled Chicken Heaven Salad = Surprisingly good, esp the grilled chicken. I feel this has not received enough mention in the reviews, because I was really pleasantly surprised by the well-seasoned grilled chicken that somehow was charred nicely but tender on the inside. It smelled amazing, taking the lid off.... And tasted even better! They are generous with their salad, and I will definitely get this again. I added feta to it bc I love feta, but I don't know if that was necessary, lol.

Skampa is so tasty! The menu has so many options but my favorite is the shrimp dinner with all fries which comes with coleslaw. The fries are sooooo good and flavorful!!! By far the best fries in Cambridge,Mass. The fried shrimp on this order is always done so perfect. I highly recommend this if you like fried shrimp. Make sure you ask for an extra tartar sauce because they have a pretty good tartar sauce with some mini chunks of red onions. I'm not really a coleslaw person but I enjoy Skampa coleslaw with this order.The portion is filling for 1 but you'll end up saving some for later.

I ordered a small pizza; half cheese and half pepperoni. The crust was super thin and light. It only took 10 minutes for pick up. The staff was friendly.

We usual3only go here for their roast beefs or pastrami which are both really good. However today I dared to venture to try something different, since our usual spot Alfredos is closed on Sunday. I ordered the ziti with meat balls. It was gross. Simply put. The meatballs are frozen and taste it, the noodles were mush they were so over cooked. The sauce isn't bad, but they barley put any on. My husband got the steak tip dinner and man was that a disappointment in a box. The steak was tough and chewy, tasted of a lot of vinegar the fries and onion ring were both soggy and most of the onion rings Batter was blown off. Just a really crappy experience.

So tasty!!! The reviews about the french fries are right! They're crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned so well!! My sister and I shared the roast beef dinner. Since I am vegetarian, I ate the onion rings and fries while she had the roast beef. The other reviews are right about the massive portion sizes. One complaint I would have is that it wasn't clear on Slice (the ordering platform linked to their site) that the roast beef was actually a roast beef sandwich, not just plain roast beef. The onion rings also weren't very fresh and definitely pulled the fries down. I would try to substitute the onion rings with more french fries next time. Overall - a tasty meal but the french fries are the shining star.

First time trying this place is the food is not good at all. All the plates were loaded with flavorless soggy fries and onion rings This place seemed to only specialized in their roast beef and pastramis so if you looking for a fresh juicy medium burger , do not go here. Or fresh seafood. Every this is just bland and not worth it Cole slaw was gross literally tasted like it was soaked and strained with Mayo water .

First time here on a visit to Boston. Everybody (reviews) just raves about the Super Beef 3 ways, so I didn't really know anything about the rest of the menu. Got the Steak Bomb sub (cheesesteak + grilled mushrooms and onions) ... LOTS of meat (served with a fork) love the cheese when you get to the bottom! Several tables inside. Nice, small place with lots of foot traffic. I also got a to-go Chicken Parm sub and onion rings. Chicken parm has small pieces of individually fried chicken plank ... really great idea for extra flavor of the breading and extra surface area for the sauce which is perfect ... not too spicy. Rings were different natural cut thicknesses so some were thick like tempura, while others were more like strings! Love the combination. Bread on both subs was fresh and great without falling apart under the sauce/cheese.

My go-to delivery food in Cambridge. I always get the same thing (chicken parmesan w/mozzarella sticks), and always enjoy it. The sandwich is stuffed and the marinara sauce is really flavorful. Also, being able to order from UberEats or carryout is really convenient. I haven't eaten in the restaurant before, but from the few times when I've picked up my order, it has a cozy vibe to it and the staff are friendly. Check this place out if you want a quick bite in the area!

Best roast beef I've had and that's saying something... I've had at least 20 north shore and south shore roast beefs and this one reigns supreme. Casual counter. Comfortable seating with a tv too. Will be back.

I've been meaning to update this for a while but I've been embarrassed. I actually tried the wings made properly and they out rank any other wings I've had in boston by far. They became a go to. I'm doing the Hot Ones Challenge soon and it will be with Skampa wings. Sorry to them for the doubt. I've also had Several of the sandwiches and they are also tasty

Came here for a quick bite with friends. We heard the roast beef sandwich was good, so we tried that. We also ordered a hamburger and some onion rings. The hamburger was my favorite. It was pretty big, juicy and flavorful. Good condiments to meat ratio too! The roast beef sandwich was good, but not so good that it lived up to the hype. The onion rings were quite disappointing. They were dry and the flavor of the onion didn't shine through. I might come back to try the pizza and maybe grab another hamburger. Definitely going to get fries next time instead of the onion rings.

Just got delivery from them - The Chicken Broccoli Ziti is really really Good!!! Chicken is cooked perfectly, grilled with a slight char, still tender. Veggies are fresh and plentiful. Fast delivery, everything tasted like it just came out of the kitchen!

Ordered a Pastrami wrap 30 minutes before a conference call from my hotel room about a mile away. It came super fast and I didn't have to interrupt my meeting to fetch the delivery. It was so good and prompt I ordered couple pizzas (Hawaiian and Pepperoni and sausage) for dinner. Food came very fast and it was still too hot to eat when it arrived. I will definitely be back.

Went here today for a team lunch. Space can be a little cramped for larger groups, and we waited a bit longer than I would have expected for our food. Those are the only negative things I have to say. The food was really good. Well-priced, delicious, and enough variety in the menu (sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and pasta) that everyone found something they liked. I got the Super Beef 3 Ways because of all the buzz on Yelp, and it was fantastic. A tad messy, but worth it. Seriously it's like an Arby's sandwich on flavor steroids. Got a small fry as well which was big enough to split with the table. Go here. Eat this food. Grab napkins. And enjoy every minute of it.

Delivery from Skampa has made our lives easier and delicious during COVID times. Everything we've tried is delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. They have a big menu with options for all the family. While I usually don't like salads from "pizza places" the salads at Skampa are amazing. My favorite is the "Nutty Arugula". The arugula is always crispy and fresh, they put a lot of almonds and shaved Parmesan cheese. The chicken broccoli ziti is a big favorite for my kids. We've also had, subs, wings, and pizza. Because the portions are large, I always know I'll have leftovers for the next day. The service is also very fast (we order delivery thru the Slice app.) Basically, I only have amazing things to say about Skampa!

Service was polite and quick. It's made to order. Minimal seating. There were a decent amount of menu options too. I went with the steak bomb. Meat portion was plentiful and tender. The bread was delicious too. It was super soft. I wish the meat was a bit more seasoned but, it did not disappoint

Great place to order from on a busy work/school night. Lately, I've been ordering the Greek with a Twist (to which you can add chicken, steak, etc. for a nominal fee). It is huge and chock full of healthy stuff! I always have leftovers for lunch at work the next day, and then some! The roast beef sandwiches are flavorful and sliced nicely. I usually have it with mayo, pickles and tomatoes - and it is a generous portion. Other fun items are the pizza rolls, broccoli bites, and baklava. Inexpensive, quick weekend night delivery.

Great option if you're in the East Cambridge area. During lunch it does tend to get busy so call ahead and your food will be ready by the time you get there. If you're wondering what to order you can never go wrong with a Jr Beef 3 way, it always hits the spot :)

I love finding reliable take out/delivery close by. This place goes beyond reliable. My absolute favorite thing is the "Greek with a twist" salad with chicken. I'm kicking myself for not taking a photo but it's a GIANT bowl of fresh romaine and then all the yumminess like roasted peppers and kalamata olives sectioned around it. They even send your hot protein in a separate container so your salad doesn't get mushy! I get dinner and 2 lunches out of it and it's delish! The roast beef is also awesome. I got the junior and it was more than I could finish with super tender roast beef and delicious sauce. I haven't been anything but please yet and I plan on continuing to check out the menu!

I came here for a quick to-go dinner and was amazed at their menu, everything sounded so good and almost fancy. Since it was my first time there, I got the first thing on the menu "chicken heaven?" It took a bit of cooking time but that's because they actually had to cook the chicken - so it was fresh. Flavour- the sandwich was so amazing! Not your typical fast food sandwich. This sandwich was lined with fresh veggies - not iceberg lettuce haha. Their chicken was so fresh and flavourful. Their sauce paired amazingly with the chicken and dried cranberries. Overall, great taste. People - the people working there seem super nice. Even if the wait was a little bit, they assured your meal was coming up soon. Recommend - definitely recommend the chicken heaven, even though it was the only thing I had, still enjoyed and I think everyone should try it!

One of my favorite go-to spots year-round (and during covid). Great sandwiches - I'm a fan of the chicken parm and buffalo chicken. Always ready really fast, usually about 10 mins for pickup. Friendly people behind the counter. What more can you ask for?

My wife and I used to live in Beverly, and ate at Nick's Roast Beef on (almost) a weekly basis, which is truly a North Shore treasure and serves the best Roast Beef sandwiches in Greater Boston for 50+ years running (though I was miffed to hear about their tax fraud...) With that said, after moving to East Cambridge, we were delighted to discover Skampa, which serves the mouth-watering Northshore-style Roast Beef sandwiches that we have grown to love. There are three elements to a delicious Northshore-style Roast Beef sandwich: 1) Thinly sliced (almost shaved), moist, rare beef 2) Soft, griddled, greasy buns 3) The "3-Way" toppings, which includes Cheese, BBQ Sauce, and Mayo. I sometimes like to add grilled onions. Optional 4) A side of Small Fries, which is a small HEAPING on a plate, and enough to feed two people. I always ask for extra, home-made BBQ Sauce, so I could drizzle it over the drier parts. If this is what you're looking for, Skampa will not disappoint. With that said, the beef used is not of the same high quality as used at Nick's Roast Beef i.e. it's not so moist and tender that it melts in your mouth. There are tougher parts that definitely require more vigorous chewing. In terms of the venue, I hope you don't go into a sandwich shop looking for decor. This is a hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop that you go to for a quick bite, not a date. But the service is excellent, with some of the friendliest folks around. There's no restroom for customers, but when my 3-year-old couldn't hold it, they kindly let me use the employees' restroom. The TV is always on, there's always enough room to sit down, and there are high chairs for children. It's also a UPS Drop-Off spot, so you can try it out while you're dropping off your UPS packages. While I go here mostly for the Roast Beef Sandwiches, I will add that their Grilled Chicken Heaven Wrap is truly heavenly. It's a grilled chicken wrap, with generous amounts of shaved parmesan, sliced almonds, cranberries, carrots, greens, and ranch dressing. It's a welcome alternative when you feel greased out.

This is the definition of hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has the BEST food! I'm usually wary of places that have such a big variety. I usually assume that most of the food will just be average. But everything here so so good! And the people are so nice!

It's not gourmet but sometimes you just need something warm and comforting. The restaurant is clean and brightly lit, and the food comes out quickly. If you're looking for a roast beef sandwich in Cambridge, this is the place to go. The portion sizes are really generous. The large roast beef was almost too big for me and an order of onion rings can be comfortably split between 4 people.

Awesome calzones and roast beef! The buffalo chicken calzone has that doughy bite with melty cheese on top which is awesome. The rosy beef here is excellent as well, you won't be disappointed. Much thanks!

USUALLY (5) STARS BUT NOT IN THIS VISIT Been a customer for quite a long time I don't get by there that often but I was in the neighborhood yesterday and I was hankering for a roast beef which they do awesomely I was disappointed that I didn't see the owner & the female coworkers when I arrived because they're always so very nice and pleasant and helpful and patient I ordered a super beef with light mayo, American cheese and barbecue sauce on the side And ask them to please cut it in half The male behind said my total was $8 - A price I could not see on the menu because that portion of the menu seems to be rubbed out on all the take out menu's - no big deal I gave him a $10 bill. He gave me back my $2 which I put in the tip cup - Merry Christmas I sat to eat my sandwich, only half. It was delicious when I was done I went to order another to go for my husband Before I went to Order another person came in and asked "how much is the super beef" he ordered it the same way I did above the same guy behind the counter told the customer $7.25 which confused me Because I just paid eight dollars and I gave them a $2 tip so I paid $10 To be clear this isn't about the $.75 it was about the fact that you give one price to one person and another price to another person I was next so I asked what the difference was between a large beef and a super beef and he said the roll I said I'd like to order a super beef the same way as the last one & the same as he - the customer B4 me ordered it He said my total was $7.75 I began to remind him that the last time he charged me $8 and that he charged the guy behind me $7.25 just now FOR THE SAME SANDWICH I asked why $.50 or $.75 more because I asked it to be cut in half? I wasn't joking I'm just trying to figure out $7.25 vs. $7.75 vs. $8 he immediately interrupted me and said " I know I know I know it's the prices it's not me" HUH ??? " he wants to charge for barbecue sauce on the side" I said "you should've told me about that beforehand that it would cost me $.75 to put it on the side and I would've thrown the first one away for my order of the 2nd one" WTH AND I reminded him that I also gave them the $2 tip so you made almost $3 off me OK whatever I then handed him another $10 bill and he gave me back $.25 he did not return any of my dollar bills that were due to me should've received $2.75 back I was so focused on all the confusion about us going back and forth I didn't realize it straight away, which was my bad They got a good tip out of me today but it must be that they needed it more than I did I watched him from that moment on He made my sandwich in the back and he came out & handed it to me and I left I will admit I was a little nervous about what did you do to my sandwich but then I thought don't be crazy BUTTTTTT I just had words with him and then he went back and made the sandwich. Well my husband ended up eating my other half of the sandwich as it is nice and warm and we save the other sandwich for later and we split that well guess what sick as bleep today now maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me but I don't normally get sick With Pepto biz symptoms Just saying And I always go with my gut instinct and I dropped the ball on this one I should've thrown the sandwich away or cancelled the order when I saw he was making it it just felt sketchy to me ALSO I'm not sure what kind of racket they're running behind the counter when the owner is not there but they made $6 off me I could've bought another sandwich For the money I gave them or the money that I was tricked into giving them or the change I didn't get back Someone needs to pay attention to what's going on Just be careful folks watch the trickery with your money and your change back Oh and also on another note - they do run some specials there with a -soda included or bag of chips or french fries and onion rings but they won't tell you about that so if you don't know you lose out It's a bit shady to me well I'll be back but probably won't rush

This place is pretty gross. I've gotten takeout a few times, but tonight is definitely the last. Buffalo chicken fingers are awful, and the fries and onion rings that come with it are soggy greasy garbage. The steak bomb calzone is also soggy, the beef has a bad flavor and is very tough and gristly, worst of all it's totally lacking in cheese. Was told 20 minutes on the phone, ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes in the store. YMMV, but I'm done. Try Aram's instead.

Cheap and delicious pizza! Ordered a cheese and a veggie pizza for delivery and it was above average quality and only $20! I know where I'll be getting my pies from as long as I'm in the area!

Great food and super kind staff! They're fast and efficient too with the best prices for a sandwich or calzone in the area.

I work down the street from this restaurant and I can't say enough about how good the food is for the price. The buffalo chicken calzone is the best I've ever had, I order it with the grilled chicken heaven salad and it ends up being a few meals for me. We recommend these guys to all our customers and have no doubt they will receive good food at a good price in addition to excellent service!

Ok, Skampa serves the greasiest pizza that I've ever had in my life. And while that could be a compliment, I guess, believe me that it's not. You could lubricate a F1 car with the grease from this pizza. You could slick back a Trump child's hair for a year with the grease from this pizza. You could start a fire that could keep the whole family warm with the grease from this pizza. It's gratuitous. It's obscene. It's decadent. It's just too greasy. Some places give you the option of extra toppings. Some places give you the option of extra sauce. This place gives you extra grease, and it's not an option. Aside from that, the space is sort of uninspiring. The floors were sticky, and the service was gruff. I'm a fan of a low down pizza and sub shop, but this is just not cutting anyone's mustard. Unless you're into that sort of thing, in which case this is the pizza place for you. Go nuts, you maniac.

Ordered a pastrami sandwich and fries, first fries were banging and I wish I had ordered a side of ranch to dip them in. The reason im deeming my meal three stars is because the sandwich was more like a sloppy joe. The bun was a floppy, soggy, burger bun and the pastrami was all over the place. I wish it was on a harder roll or one that didnt disintegrate before I could bite into it. But the flavors were still yummy.

This place is legit! Insanely low prices, and the Super Beef is better than some north shore spots, according to my Hamiltonian gf. Even the hot dog was good! Chicken cutlet sub was huge, too, and very good.

Ordered takeout Greek salad with a twist with chicken and it was delicious. Only took 10 mins to make and the guys that work there are super nice. Salad is huge and the salad dressing, chicken and pita are in separate containers. Chicken was piping hot. Will definitely get it again.

Best cheese Burger Sub in East Cambridge for sure... Cant beat the price or the quality!! Great Service as well.. Don't Stay Hungry My Friends Skampa is the way!!!
