Yeti's At Skatebird - Review - Miami Shores - Miami - The Infatuation

"Yeti’s is a pizza spot inside Skatebird, a half-shaded skatepark in El Portal filled with our city’s coolest children in knee pads. There’s an entrance fee for skating, but it’s free if you just want pizza (with a side of fearless 8-year-olds casually rolling down ramps). Normally places built for child amusement have gross food, but the pizza at Yeti’s is really good. They make a crisp hot honey pepperoni slice that you can use as a snack break between your failed attempts at a kickflip. The name Yeti’s comes from their snow cones, which are tempting on a hot afternoon, but so sugary you can feel cavities forming after one spoonful. Still, it's a refreshing treat that’ll make you feel like a kid again. photo credit: CLEVELAND JENNINGS / @EATTHECANVASLLC photo credit: CLEVELAND JENNINGS / @EATTHECANVASLLC photo credit: CLEVELAND JENNINGS / @EATTHECANVASLLC Pause Unmute" - Mariana Trabanino

20+ kids running around the park. A kid got in front of me while I was going really fast and I almost crushed him. Then his friend had the audacity to tell ME to be more careful. They also host the park for birthday parties so beware. If you do decide to come for whatever reason don’t forget a helmet because it is required. The kids are also constantly leaving there scooters in the middle of the park. Also despite the “Helmets are required” rule there are a lot of kids without them. Not safe at all, and the people working here don’t seem to care about any of this stuff at all.

I loved Skatebird, the coolest place. However, if you invest in lessons there, like I did, be sure to ask that they teach your kid how to fall before anything else. I wish my kid had learned that. He busted his adult front tooth and just had a painful root canal. I'm so sad and wish it could have been prevented. It was so fun watching him skate, but he refuses to go back and I don't blame him. 😢

Google
This place is sacred ground for skateboarders. It's got everything a skateboarder could ever need and all that a skateboarder wants. Each section and drop-in has unique lines that will keep you interested in trying all of them. It has a skate lounge area with a library of skate literature. It also has a flat ground and ledge area. This skatepark is not for beginners.

Google
Skatebird is such an amazing place and we are thrilled they are in our neighborhood. My kids have tried their private and group classes and have attended their camp days which they love! Most recently we had the pleasure of hosting my son’s 6th birthday party with them and it was such an amazing experience. We booked an area for two hours and with the help of three coaches my son’s friends took part of some skateboarding basics and fun games! It was the first time on boards for many of them and Isaiah, Joel and Briley made sure these little ones had a great time, they were patient and made it fun! They covered all bases and even interacted with the older kids we had attending to help them at their level. Rosie was so great to work with in the planning stages and she made sure the day was all we wanted. She helped us with the catering, made sure we were covered on drinks for kids and adults and always stayed in touch to make sure we weren’t in need of anything. 10/10 I would recommend and will use for a future event!

Google
I think it's a very fun place. I went for an event that was taking place but the areas are very spacious to walk around. You have a good time. Very good security and attention at the entrance.

Yelp
Went there for the punk flea market, so I didn't necessarily skate. However, the vibes and staff were fantastic, and truly felt like a special community. If I knew how to skate, I would totally skate here!

Yelp
SkateBird Miami is such a gem! It's like a skatepark, bar and restaurant all in one. There were also some really cool vendors there selling art and books. Definitely coming back to this spot.

Yelp
Pros: what a gem! I had no idea such a cool spot was nestled in the middle of the city. I went for a local show and had a blast. They also offer refreshments (including alcohol) and pizza in the back. Bathrooms were clean, music was great. Cons: limited parking

Yelp
Unconventional skate park concept. Welcoming people of all kinds. From skaters, kids, creatives, and of course parents. Entrance is free. Skaters $15. Liability waiver must be completed. Memberships are available. Staff was extremely friendly. Street parking is available, as well as a parking lot on premises. Over 6-7 bathrooms (gender neutral) Beer/Food available for purchase In house skate shop In house barber shop Perfect for MIAMI. Well done, skatebird miami.

Yelp
Super cool! This business really thought outside the box and brought the neighborhood an experience like no other. Safe skating ramps with funky micro shops all around. Now they are even opening a restaurant. Live bands on the weekend with police supervision provide a safe snd cool spot for teens and twenty something's to hang out. Love the vibe of this place! Innovative vision for the future!

Yelp
I took my son to skate at this covered skate park. It was so nice to get some shade, plus some breeze from one of those HUGE fans in the ceiling. They have two skateboarding areas. One covered, the other is a pump track. The have parking and restrooms. There is a snack shop to buy drinks and candy. My son wants to go back for classes, they have camp too.

Yelp
Would highly advise staying far away from this business. It was rented out for upcoming artists to perform on Wednesday Nov 8th, and the owner shut down the show an hour and 15 early because the main upcoming artist had a supportive fan base and was "too loud". Do not bring your children to skate here until new ownership happens and waste your money on a selfish person, as this person discriminates and apparently enjoys killing dreams.

Yelp
They are closed to the public but open for a private party because they have work going on. This makes no sense. Regardless the neighborhood is awful and the staff is unfriendly especially to children
