if you’re looking for something pristine, corporate, and modern, look elsewhere. Staying here is about a different kind of experience, which is wonderful. Yes it is rustic. Yes it dates back to 1860s and is historic yet, it is a very comfortable and it’s all about the experience Crystal, the general manager and Carlos, the host went beyond all expectations and making us feel comfortable and meet more than our needs. We just absolutely loved staying here for our wedding anniversary. It’s very quiet and just wonderful.

Google
Loveland Pass nearby is a must stop for remarkable views. This is an old home, but well maintained. Be careful walking through due to the variation in flooring. We had fabulous service from beginning to end. We splurged on dinner and it did not disappoint. Breakfast was excellent and beyond your typical hotel breakfast. I am not a food critic, but where are the stars?! We splurge only on anniversaries and the once a year vacation. The meals will be one of my top three. Did I mention the service?! Everyone of their employees were super kind. May the Lord bless their home, family, business, and employees!

We ate in the restaurant; did not stay in a room. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. You have your choice from four different categories: soup, salad, entree, dessert. The price is fixed. Excellent wine/beer list and full bar. Very interesting, old building with quite the history.

We had our wedding here in early July and had the most incredible experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our day absolutely perfect. The food and service for both amazing. You always hear "something will go wrong at your wedding" and we truly didn't have a single mishap. Our wedding party stayed the night at the venue and enjoyed breakfast together on property the next morning. The rooms were quaint and comfortable with all the Colorado charm you could want. The most magical wedding venue - highly recommend!

I just had one of the best meals of my life here at the Ski Tip Lodge. A true fine dining experience that was supposed to be four courses, but the incredible staff gave us an additional fifth course. The ambiance inside was quite an experience. For the final course, they took us to a fireplace room to enjoy our desert. We got to meet the chef and cooks during our meal as well. If you are in keystone and looking for a treat, be sure to get a reservation here.

Just got back from our fourth stay at Ski Tip Lodge. It is my favourite place to vacation in the mountains! It’s quaint, quiet and the staff are incredible. Krystle and Carlos made our stay extra special and always go above and beyond for us. The food and service in the restaurant is always amazing. Not to mention the wine list is incredible!

Google
The four course meal was absolutely delicious. There was such a variety to choose from at each course. Our server, Scott, was amazing!!! He suggested we have our dessert by the fireplace in the lounge area. It was very special.

Google
My son and I were warmly welcomed by Zack and we were given a tour. We had the best 4 course dinner, with Matthew as our server. We ended with a great breakfast and enjoyed Carlos' hospitality. Indeed an incredible experience. Please do yourself a favor and enjoy a superb outing! Well done Ski Tip, I will be back!

Yelp
It's a historic lodge with a very charming atmosphere and cozy rooms you can stay at during your ski trip. There is a game room, bar, two fireplaces and a restaurant (dinner here is a must, so delicious; please make a reservation in advance). The views from the restaurant are mesmerizing, especially in the morning. If you are staying in, there is also an access to the nearby hot tub, which is amazing after all day of skiing. There is a free breakfast, wifi and a parking lot. The shuttle stop to the River Run Keystone Resort, is right in front of the lodging. Very convenient if you don't want to deal with finding a parking spot at the resort during the busiest time. They also give an option to store your ski gear overnight at the River Run for free. The staff is super nice, helpful and very welcoming, highly recomend!

Yelp
My husband and I came here on a Monday during Christmas week. Make sure you get your reservations early cause it's gets sold out very quickly. Our experience was 5/5. The ambiance was the mountain rustic cozy feel that I love and service was amazing. Our waitress knew a lot about each dish and gave suggestions. It's a 4 course meal and there were 2 options for starter, 2 options for appetizer/salad, 5 options for entree and 4 options for dessert (you choose 1 from each course). My husband and I chose different options for starter and appetizer so we could share. We also got pork chop and king mushroom for our entrees. Our favorite dishes was the pasta/ravioli dish under the appetizer section. It was melt in your mouth delicious. The salad was also very unique and refreshing and a surprising hit. We also loved the king mushroom dish under entree. It was cooked with asparagus and beet puree and everything went together very well.

Yelp
We had 5:30 dinner reservations. One of the dining rooms has windows with a nice view. The other room dark and dismal. Even though there were lots of available tables, the host insisted that we could only sit in the ugly room in front of the kitchen's swinging doors. We left. Plus, the host was rude! We live in Summit among many friends and family and will relay our poor experience. What a shame.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the lodging. We have dined here many times and always wondered about the lodging, so we finally took the plunge and booked a jr suite which is a room with a queen bed adjoined to another room with two twins. Each room had a bathroom which was nice. First the positive: the rooms were charming and historic. Beds were comfy. Filtered water in a glass bottle was a nice touch. There's a lovely outdoor hot tub if you don't mind a little trek. The breakfast was excellent with fresh squeezed oj and good coffee. The fireplace is awesome. And of course the views! Now the negative:There's no tv so a book is a must. Also if there is dinner service, it is quite loud until all the guests have left, which was around 10 pm. The hairdryer did not work. We couldn't adjust the HVAC to a comfortable level. There are no blackout shades so if you're a light sleeper, you're out of luck.

James O.

Yelp
It had been a couple years since our last visit/meal here. We were very impressed with the current chef and wait staff. As always, the soup course shined, and the entrees were fantastic. Lamb lollipops, duck breast, seared Tuna, pork chop and filets were all outstanding. And in Ski Tip fashion, the side dishes were great - and you never leave hungry! We will be back soon

Yelp
Unfortunately, Ski Tip has taken a serious step backwards post-COVID. Service was slow despite lots of empty tables - it took about 45 minutes between ordering and our first course. There were also awkward gaps between courses. The restaurant used to have a great somm, but this time they didn't have one despite it being a Saturday night. The food was fine but not exceptional - a carbonara-inspired dish tasted not at all of carbonara, and the puff pastry on a beef wellington was undercooked. The staff had little ability to work around common dietary restrictions, and it seemed like the kitchen had a single dish for each course that had no gluten, no dairy, no meat, as to avoid altering any dishes. Those aren't end-of-the-world issues, but compared to the price point and where they've been in the past, they've fallen well short of their own standards. Ski Tip used to be our #1 recommendation for upscale dining in Summit, but it's certainly fallen off that podium.

Yelp
We just completed a wonderful dining experience at the Ski Tip Lodge. Our meal and service was perfect in every way. I rarely give a 5 star review, but the prix fixe dinner and perfectly chilled wine made this a very special occasion. Kudos to management and staff!

Mallory K.

Yelp
Worth every penny. Service was impeccable and every single bite of food was amazing. I have been lucky enough to have dinner here multiple times and every single time I am blown away by how fabulous the meal is and how amazing the staff is. This is a must go to restaurant.

Yelp
Highlights- the wine list is great some really nice interesting finds. Found a great unique bottle (on my own) which we really enjoyed. The servers were helpful and attentive. The appearance and ambiance was quaint and warm. The bad- The place was overall way to pretentious for what it was. You need to have an awareness of your abilities as as an establishment and the dining acumen of your guests, then tailor your attitude accordingly. If you want to eat at the most expensive place in Keystone and be treated like you don't understand a menu or know your way around a wine list then this is your spot. Food is extremely sub par. Given this place is pre fixe menu, I expected each course/option to be on point. Not the case at all. Only good food I had put in front of me was the tomato bisque. The rest big fail. Octopus appetizer over cooked, Jamaican fried chicken lacking all around, chicken had a good cook but waffle dry/crumbling, greens over cooked and bitter, then dessert was a total A.D.D. flavor disaster on a plate. Save your money and check out other options in River Run village area. Some great plates on plenty of other menus in the area without the extra expense or the attitude.

Dan L.

Yelp
Our server was amazing! She handled our group of 10 like a pro. The food was great, as usual. Suggestions.... (one of which I'm sure you have no control due to pandemic) was the lack of wine choices and not having a sommelier, it really adds to the experience. You must know that I've been coming to Max & Edna's place since I was a kid in the 60's so I have lots of memories of my family being there before they founded Keystone. Also, in the past, we always finished our meal and went out into the room with the big fireplace for dessert, not last night. And, it was disappointing to see my favorite room, where we would play chinese checkers in front of the fireplace, cards etc., where the sofas have been removed and replaced with tables, so that was a little disappointing. However, the food is always good and the ambiance is great. Thanks!

Andrew V.

Yelp
This was the most amazing dining experience I've ever had. The food quality was amazing. The service was unique, personalized and of a standard rivaled by few in my life. We were quite a wild bunch but still fit right in at what I would consider a fancy dining experience. Heather played right along with us telling Ole jokes and giving us a hard time. I'm not a wine person but am so glad I did the wine pairing with the meal. We will be back and we will be asking for Heather.

Luke N.

Yelp
We had an incredible experience at Ski Tip Lodge. Amazing service paired with food prepared like you've never had. We loved our sommelier Kurtis, and our waitress Christine. Both were great hosts and really made the experience unforgettable. The best part about this place is that it's so unassuming, but once you get inside the lodge you see how cozy it is. It allows for all of the staff to really oversee every detail for every table. This spot is a must if you are in Summit County.

Yelp
We usually book a nice Christmas dinner in the mountains and have enjoyed other Keystone venues in the past (e.g. Der Fondue Chessel). We selected Ski Tip Lodge as several years ago we enjoyed our experience there during the fall wine weekend. However, Christmas 2022 was a huge let down. The setting: We arrived for our 5:30 reservation expecting a cozy feeling lodge. What we were seated in was an old, beige box of a room off to the side of the actual historic stage stop with no character. The fire place was not lit, there was no holiday decor, etc. There wasn't even any sound dampening materials, just a room with 6 tables in it that echoed every table's conversation to the others. When we were moved to the library for our desert (extra fee), the room had much more character, but during a time of COVID it was unsettling to be shoulder to shoulder with multiple other parties that were unmasked when not actively eating/drinking. The service: Our server was less than thrilled to be working. He was short and gruff with rattling off the menu, options, and suggestions. This continued for the entire meal including dessert in the library. At no point did a manager or anyone else other than our server come to check on our experience. The food: The lobster bisque had no lobster in any of our 3 dishes. The chilled rabbit appetizer was not chilled, but on the verge of being frozen The duck, I wasn't sure if it was duck or actually a small Cornish game hen by sight or flavor The fish was flavorless The panna cotta was nearly frozen and crystalline The truffles were nearly frozen and not soft inside The verdict: All in all, this was not worth the $400+ we spent for a party of 3 and I would not recommend it to anyone we know. There are far better options in the Summit/Vail valleys. (Der Fondue Chessel, Game Creek Club)

Philip H.

Yelp
Nice ambience..server was terrific. Food was good but not exceptional. We had the prix fix 3 course dinner in the dining area with coffee on the patio.

Eric M.

Yelp
Hands down the best dining experience in Summit County. Make reservations well in advance. This little place is worth the modest price and well worth the wait. It says a lot that much of the staff have been there for 5+ years. We will be back!!

Kristi C.

Yelp
Wow. I'm not even sure where to begin about this place. My daughter made us reservations for dinner Monday night. We knew the history of the lodge which makes it even more special. We had a private room and our own Sommelier to help us select the wine for our 4 course meal. The tomato bisque might be one of the best I've ever tasted. The food was incredible and the wine recommended by the Somm was spot on. Fantastic experience all the way around!

Ivan V.

Yelp
Very romantic and nice ambiance in this small historic lodge. Very extensive vine list. This could be all great if they don't force on you $96 four course dinner that is tasteless and unhealthy. I wish the cook was as good as the business people who run it.

Mare G.

Yelp
They really need to advise guests that children under 8 years old should not be brought here. I wish it would have told me. This restaurant really should discourage folks from bringing their kids. We brought our toddler and it was not the right setting for kids. They advertise having appetizers and such but the menu was a very very expensive pre-fixe menu. $50 for a tiny steak and buttered noodles for 3 year old is outrageous. $350 for 3 people to eat dinner was not worth it. Food was good but not worth the prices charged, and we like and appreciate fine dining. Also the cancellation policy is unfair. I called to cancel or reschedule our reservation, as we arrived in keystone the night of our reso with a toddler who was having a major meltdown and tantrum....the host didn't care and I was told it would be $75 to cancel. I don't know about you but I'd rather not have an unruly toddler and their worn out parents dragging themselves into my restaurant. Lesson learned. Don't book restaurants with tough cancellation policies on the day of travel with kids.

Patricia B.

Yelp
It has very good food and the decor is charming. It's expensive, just so you know. But great for a special occasion. It really is a lodge and has rooms to rent. We've never stayed there but I would assume they are lovely...and probably expensive. But it's a pricey area, so enjoy!

Sarah G.

Yelp
I wanted to try one of Keystone's gourmet restaurants while on the mountain, but as of course these type of meals are expensive I was wary to try some of the other options based on the Yelp reviews - nothing worse than being disappointed by an expensive meal. No such worries at Ski Tip! Even though there's not a wealth of information out there on this place, my worries were unfounded. It's taken me a very long time to write a review of the Ski Tip... probably because I wanted to be very thorough and make sure I didn't miss any glorious detail of our meal here. Unfortunately enough time has now passed that those details are getting blurry, save to say that the meal was excellent and worth the $70/person for 5 courses. My greatest concern was that the food would match the 'classic/antique' decor of the cottage location, but the plating, flavors, and menu were all very interesting (check out the pictures). I will go back, happily, next time we're in the area. I desperately wanted to take our dessert and coffee by the fire, but unfortunately was too full from the other courses to do so and we had to have it packaged to go. Even after spending two days in a freezer, it was a memorable end to a fantastic meal.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Can't even get over it! This place is beyond special. Loved every single minute in Ski Tip. The staff does such a nice job of explaining the history behind the lodge. Very engaging. The food blew us away! Beautiful presentations... absolutely delicious... perfectly portioned. The wine staff, also a wealth of information and beautiful story tellers, of the wine regions and wine makers. If you are in the Keystone area.... even if you aren't.... get to Ski Tip Lodge!

Patty S.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. It is charming, quaint, and absolutely cozy. Upon entering, you sit in a small parlor in front of the fireplace. The dining room itself is very small and has maybe eight tables total. There are two sommeliers, yes two. Their wine list is breathtaking and they have many affordable wines with choices for every taste. We couldn't decide if we wanted to do the pairing or get a bottle recommendation so we did both since the pairing fee was extremely reasonable. The bottle our sommelier helped us pick out was perfect and the presentation of our bottle is the same as other restaurants who only present this way for bottles over $200 or so. We appreciate that class and pomp and circumstance, as this is what heightens the experience. The sommeliers were intricate in their knowledge of each wine and seemed to always be around to fill your glass. They were a huge part of why the service was flawless as they helped with every aspect, including bussing tables, etc. This is a well oiled machine and I appreciate that no one was above working to make everything flow smoothly. The servers and staff were all wonderful and helpful. Their bread basket was delightful and the muffins were our favorite. Their menu changes weekly which is just amazing. Everything we ate was balanced and flavorful. The duck last night was the star for us. After dinner, we were led to another parlor type room and we sat in front of the large fireplace to finish our wine and to partake in dessert. It was cozy and relaxing. Our goal in life is to find the best restaurant experiences. This experience at Ski Tip combined the class of a Michelin star restaurant without the restrictions. The environment was perfect. This will stand out in our minds as high up on our list as one of the best experiences in the country. Enjoy the history and don't even think twice about coming here. You will be glad you did. PS-to the yelper who gave this place a one star because they expect the restaurant to tell you not to bring your toddler (or charge a cancellation fee) , you are doing such a great disservice to the people who work their tails off to create a beautiful dining experience for you. This place is small and if someone cancels, it is not so easy to fill the spot. If you aren't confident that your kid isn't going to be rock solid at a fine dining establishment, then get a babysitter or choose another place. Kids limit your options sometimes. Welcome to parenting. Don't blame the restaurant for your decisions.

Judson R.

Yelp
Had dinner again here on Monday. Fabulous service and evening despite having to navigate the Covid hurdles. The duck was one of the best dishes I've had over the past year. Loved it. Also it paired great with the recommended Shattered Grenache!!

Janet D.

Yelp
Best lodge stay ever! Warm and nice home setting, super friendly services. Most impressive is their homemade dishes, which are must have! I consider their breakfast over the five stars hotels.

Joseph S.

Yelp
Family always looked forward to Christmas season dinner at Ski Tip. There were so many things wrong with our experience I won't get into details. However a few points are in order. The staff who had served for decades are gone. The sommelier was always a treat given the extensive wine list. Now no one is there to add that special touch. Portions were very small, such as the salad. The fish was a small filet and nothing special. The deserts were unimpressive. All things considered Ski Tip is no longer what it was as a nationally highly ranked restaurant. I hope post pandemic they can fully recover although for the hundreds of dollars spent I suspect they will enjoy the profitability - as long as it lasts.

Corinne M.

Yelp
Amazing food...every dish was a culinary experience and pleasure. Be prepared to spend money but you will be happy and your tummy will too. I appreciated the COVID response as well. We had reservations and were texted when they were ready for us...we didn't wait long. Service was attentive and helpful. My whole family enjoyed everything as well. We would come back for sure.

Meghan S.

Yelp
Service was great and staff were knowledgeable and caring of guests. Food was way below average and did not meet expectations of a four course menu. Enjoyed our pub food for lunch in the village more than this supposed high end meal. Based on food, I would not recommend. No vegetarian options for main. Menu and setting seems outdated.

Sharon T.

Yelp
We have eaten at Ski Tip many times in the past 4 years. It is always a memorable experience. We dined there last night and the food was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our desserts by the big fireplace which is a great way to end the evening. Ski Tip is suffering like many restaurants during Covid with lack of staff. They have lost both sommeliers but still have a huge wine list. The service we received was excellent. Our food was timely, waters refilled, bar drinks arrived quickly, wine was decanted table side. Looking forward to our next dining at Ski Tip.

Jon M.

Yelp
For the past two Christmas Eve's , we enjoyed a splendid experience at the SkiTip- great food great service, knowledgeable sommelier...and then there was this year. Josh, our server, couldn't have cared less to be there. The chef discovered a new seasoning..Salt! The GM did his best disappearing act, never once stopped by, never asked how things were we we left (i'm guessing because he knew why!) Don't know what happened-but I'll cut to the chase: we will never go back and highly recommend you don't waste your time and money. Look we all know the pandemic has taken a toll on the service industry, but that is no excuse for maintaining high-quality standards. If you can't, then temporarily close! See the Penrose Room at the Broadmoor. Speaking of closing you may remember the how special the Briarwood in Golden was and then it started to depend only on its reputation. Soon it became Denny's with nice tablecloths and then it folded-I expect the same fate for the Ski Tip.

Savanna M.

Yelp
Let's face it, there's only two real restaurants I want to eat at in the Keystone area, and since we did the other last time, I opted for Ski Tip Lodge this time! To be honest, I'd give the food only 4 stars sadly, but the service and charming-ness of the restaurant are a solid 5. Based on other reviews regarding the restaurant being hard to find I called ahead to get directions and confirm my reservation. You can trust the map on Yelp because it's pretty much dead on, and the signage from the road saying Ski Tip Lodge is pretty obvious, but maybe in a snow storm it can be hard to spot? lol. As others mention Ski Tip Lodge offers a pre-fixe menu (4 course for $70? or $75). The night I was there the menu listed two soup options, two appetizer options (one salad and one app), four entree choices and I believe five desserts. The atmosphere is "homey" and literally you are dining in a very old stucco style house. Lots of staircases and winding hall ways to secret rooms, I imagine playing hide and seek in here would be amazing!! Not to mention all the fabulous fireplaces from room to room! While we spent some time looking at the menu and the VERY extensive wine list, the sommelier came over to chat and gave her recommendation for a Chianti which she then decanted for us. Chianti isn't my first choice, but the boys enjoyed it and then even went ahead and ordered some wine by the glass after the bottle was done. I smartly avoided the inevitable altitude and wine headache lol. Bread was then brought out, wheat, a specialty white and a cheddar cracker with bread and homemade jam. 5 stars for the bread! And menu selections were made. For dinner I went with the a - Thai carrot soup - which was delicious and so vibrant in the bowl. Chicken and waffles - definitely different from most, and not my fav, but not bad. Beef Tenderloin - cooked to perfection, and although the spice was a bit much for me (personal taste) the combination with the risotto was just perfect. **Was a little disappointed they didn't have an Elk option on the menu this night, but I guess there's always next time! For dessert you move into either of the two sitting rooms and we settled into some couches near a giant fireplace! Desserts are read off by the server so I think I'm remembering correctly that there were five choices. By this time I was really full (damn the bread!) but I managed a spoon-full of the three different desserts our party of four ordered. Not going with my norm I tried a flourless chocolate bread pudding which was essentially a chocolate mousse, but it was great!! My bite of the apple strussel and the banana cream pie were also delicious! 5 stars for the pastry chef definitely. This is a great restaurant, and for the area it's an amazing restaurant!! Check it out, and make a reservation in advance!! OpenTable let me make one more than a month in advance!

Yelp
As others have said, this is a perfect place to spend an evening - intimate, friendly, with wonderful food and attentive (but discreet) waitstaff. It's obviously pretty pricey, but worth it for the glowy, all-is-well-with-the-world feeling you get after three hours of eating and good conversation. We ate here in summer and enjoyed the view, but I bet it's even better for cozy winter nights. Three additions to what other people have said: (1) We went here with the parents, who like their wine, and so splurged on the wine pairing menu - $35/person on top of the $70/person menu. If you can do it, go for it -- the wine choices were unexpected (for example, a Sicilian white with the salad course) but always tailored to our tastes. If you don't get the wine pairing, maybe get a dessert wine. I usually just get coffee, but I took the suggestion of a Pineau des Charentes (a sweet blend of cognac and grape juice) and it was looooveely. (2) If you're a vegetarian, you should call ahead to warn them. The menu is focused on meat and fish. The chef was happy to make us something special - and it was pretty good - but they seemed very relieved that we didn't surprise them with a last-minute request. (3) I believe Keystone circulates chefs around its various restaurants. I'm sure they try to maintain a consistent style at each restaurant, but your experience may vary...

Mike H.

Yelp
Always an amazing meal! Every time we go the food and service are fantastic. Make sure to get the wine pairing, Megan will blow your mind with her incredible knowledge of the wines, and the pairings are always spot on. The food and wine are always delicious by themselves, but together... wow! This place is a gem, do yourself a favor and check it out. And ask for Todd to be your server, he will help make your dinner so special.

Joe Y.

Yelp
Ski Tip is one of my top restaurants of 2014. The food here was interesting and full of flavor. Every bite was amazing, and I went home with a massive food coma. I had the wild game soup, which actually had very little "game" taste. The spices and flavoring in the soup were just strong enough to overcome the game taste but wasn't over powering. The bacon wrapped scallops were next, which was pure genius. Who doesn't love bacon? Lastly, finished the meal with peppercorn elk. This was the most interesting part of the meal. The entire elk was covered in a nice layer of peppercorn that really provides amazing flavor to the elk. On top of the amazing food, the ambiance was so quaint and cute. The restaurant is in a small lodge with a few tables and a nice dessert seating area with a fireplace. Overall, I 100% recommend this to anyone in the area! http://www.katsuandgravy.com/skitiplodge/

Yelp
We've dined at Ski Tip perhaps ten times since 2010 and our most recent visit on March 11 was the best yet. Twelve of us were expertly served by Dominic, Curtis and support staff, Our water glasses were regularly refreshed as were our glasses of wine. Dinner fare included Elk Tenderloin, Duck, Filet Mignon, Salmon and more. Food was prepared perfectly and our first time guests to Ski Tip raved about both the food and service. Huge hit for our group. And to finish, desert and coffee fireside in a comfy sitting room. This Swiss style venue is terrific and we look forward to our next visit.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Thank you for making my boyfriend's bday so special!! Service was spot on! The wine pairing is a must with dinner! We got to try some wine we had never had before and it really complemented all the dishes we had...I would definitely recommend stopping in when you're in Keystone!

Andrew W.

Yelp
Small, very unique and the most impressive restaurant you will find near Keystone. This is not a chain type, this is a personable and very classy dining experience. A reservation is needed as the restaurant only seats about 30, unless there are additional rooms I was not aware of. My girlfriend and I had a very nice 5 course dinner with every course being a delight. The menu I'm sure changes accordingly to the season. Expect between 1-1/2 to 2 hours as this is not something you want to rush. The soup, salad, main course, breads and deserts were all so incredible. Our waitress never missed a step, she was very attentive and very helpful in an question we had about anything. They have an extensive wine list, scotch list and many other special drinks for the most experienced to the novice. I had fun just reading the vast list of collected wines and bottles from around the world. We were asked by our waitress if we would like to take our wine and have our desert delivered to us in the sitting room by the fireplace. What a great experience. If I were able to afford this every time visiting Keystone, I would. But, I am glad to know I can really keep the Ski Tip a special place for those special occasions. Tip: Be sure to dress appropriately, I think I would have felt uncomfortable in less than dress pants and a nice buttoned down shirt. A great anniversary, birthday or special event place. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
DO NOT book this hotel through Expedia, Priceline, or other vendor. Earlier this fall, we made a two-night reservation through Expedia for 11/21 and 11/22. We also contacted Keystone Resort directly to confirm the resort. Nevertheless, just a little more than a week before we were to check in, we received notice that the hotel is not even open yet and so our reservation has been moved to a generic corporate hotel. Not the get-away we had been looking forward to.

Yelp
Italian Soave, French Grenache. Cauliflower soup with apples, pears, and almond milk base. Water cress and English pea salad. Muscovy Duck with lavender wild rice. Banana creme brûlée for dessert. Portions were perfect size, not too big. The service was too fast and the first three courses were delivered in less than an hour. Dessert in another room by a fireplace similar to The Ranch was a nice touch. Overall a very nice quiet setting in an old lodge with fun doorways and short ceilings. Great place for a romantic escape and fairly reasonably priced. Back again to try the summer menu. The yellow bell pepper soup was okay, the crab stuffed crepe was nice and the lamb T-bone had a Mediterranean feel to it including roasted eggplant and baba ganoush. The panna cotta dessert was light and delicious. The wines were once again highlights. Mineraly but fruity piedmont soave; beautiful, lush, and round Shattered Grenache; fantastic 2008 late harvest Riesling from Cloudy Point that had depth, balance, and frivolity.

Yelp
The staff here is second to none. Dominic answered all of our questions beautifully and had great knowledge of the menu. His suggestions didn't miss. Megan gave us some wine pairings and gave us one that she "had a lot of fun with" and we could quickly see why. Absolute GOATS in the service industry and the chef was cooking up nice. Can't wait to be able to go back one day

Yelp
This tiny quaint restaurant is located on the bottom story of a cute hotel. The food is fantastic. Any restaurant that changes the menu weekly peaks my interest and this is just that! Sounds silly but try the soup of the day. We let our water guide us and he didn't steer us wrong. So good I can't wait to go back! I recommend reservations.

Yelp
We dined here on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Listed as the original homestead of Keystone Ranch, Ski Tip Lodge is a charming old style home with low ceilings and an intimate friendly feeling decorated with old skis, etc. The one thing I like about dining with a fixed menu is that I always have things I would never have ordered off of an a la carte menu. This restaurant changes their menu weekly. The wine list at this small restaurant is one of the best curated lists I have seen in quite some time. It rivals those of some of the top restaurants in big cities all over the country. My compliments for such an outstanding list. I was surprised that a wine pairing option wasn't offered. I now see other reviews which make mention of that, but was totally unaware of it on the night we dined. I would definitely have tried that. There were two sommeliers working that night, a male and a female. The female was quite friendly and very informative. The male was friendly until he determined we were only going to order a couple glasses of wine, and then really couldn't be bothered with us. A beautiful bread plate with four or five different breads was presented to start the meal. This was very good except for the lavash, a cracker like bread, which appeared to have been fried instead of baked and was a bit greasy. I choice the butternut squash soup with cinnamon and apples to start, followed by grilled white balsamic marinated radicchio and white endive salad. Both were quite good. I particularly liked the toasted hazelnuts and Cambozola cheese in the salad. For an entree, I chose the garlic and herb rubbed Wagyu beef short loin. It was also excellent, although not quite as tender as I expected Wagyu beef to be. They source their Wagyu beef from a ranch in Nebraska. We were invited into a living room with a fireplace to enjoy dessert and sat at a corner table with a nice view. Several desserts were offered to choose from, none of which, while quite good, really stood out. If you only have time or budget for one upscale evening, this is the one to do.

Yelp
My (now) husband and I have been coming here on the same weekend each December for the last 4 years. We absolutely love it. The B&B is so quaint and inviting. The entire staff is wonderful and they've remembered us each year. There are 2 fireplaces in the lodge and it's so nice to sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy the coziness. The lodge also has access to 2 outdoor hottubs that are just a couple hundred feet from the front door. We always stay in Sunni's Loft which is our favorite room - but they're all great. It is truly a terrific place to get away from it - very romantic. The shuttle does stop there (it is not walking distance to the slopes but probably less than a mile.) The breakfasts are absolutely delicious. There is always a "continental" spread of fresh fruit, bread, juice, and cereals and then there is table service with a choice of 3 different items which are all great and always different. Last year we had the pleasure of dining at the lodge (there is a 15% discount for guests staying at the lodge) and it was truly a memorable experience. It was when I first learned that I loved brussel sprouts! Of course, coupled with bacon, you really can't go wrong. The bisque was amazing and the main courses were delicious too. The menu changes every night so there's no way to know what you're getting but I've yet to see a menu that did not make me want to drool uncontrollably. If you're looking for a romantic night in Keystone, you can't go wrong here.

Yelp
My fiancé (Alex), my brother (Jason), and I all ventured out to Summit County to visit my parents for Christmas this year. My diligent mother scored our group of 5 a reservation at Ski Tip lodge for Christmas dinner. Between the 5 of us, we managed to try most of the tasting menu options. Courses that stuck out to me were the clam chowder, seared foie gras, trout with some sort of rice, and a dessert with some sort of basil sauce. The clam chowder was not as creamy as the quintessential soup that comes to most minds. It had a lot more layers of flavors and was much more refined. The foie gras was also delicious due to its decadent nature. It was so rich and creamy! The trout was the standout entree for me because it was lighter than the other options (steak, pork chops, etc.) and had a unique sauce that had hints of curry flavors. It was a little more creative than the classic entrees made up of steak and potatoes, etc. Along this same line, the dessert that stuck out to me was the most creative one also! I can't remember exactly what the dessert was, but I remember that it included blueberries and a basil sauce. The herbal notes of the sauce were so interesting in a dessert context. One unique thing they do here is to move each group of diners between their entree and dessert courses. After you finish your entrees in the dining room, your waiter finds you a perfect spot by the fireplace in the front part of the restaurant to enjoy your desserts at. This is a fun touch and also gives you some time to digest your meal before scarfing down dessert! The Ski Tip lodge is very good at putting out consistent, classic dishes while also pushing outside its box every once in a while. This makes it a great place for a wide range of diners and a great spot for any special occasion!

Yelp
Perfect way to end a day. Todd and Meghan always make the experience memorable and the menu is a ski mountain classic. One of our annual got to do dining venues and we look forward to it. Expand the wild game selections!

Yelp
After a rocky start, Ski Tip delivered in the food, wine and ambience departments. The challenge on a dark, snowy night was making a reservation and then finding the place. Requests for 7 pm and 6:45 reservations were declined. We were pushed back to 6:15. I put the address listed on Google for Ski Tip into my GPS, but ended up a couple of miles west on Rt. 6. Apparently Ski Tip has two locations listed in Keystone. We called the number listed for Ski Tip, but the operator insisted there was no street address to put into a GPS. Directions were provided, but we managed to drive by the place even after finding the Ski Tip lodge sign for the turn-off of Rt. 6. Twice. The parking lot was visible in the falling snow, but there was no sign of a restaurant. Literally. The restaurant is located in a building which looks like a house. No sign. With the snow coming down there were not even any footprints from the parking lot to the door. The problem turned out to be that Ski Tip is owned by Vail resorts. So when you call Ski Tip your call is switched to the Vail resorts central switchboard. The address they gave us for the Lodge was incorrect. And of course it turned out there was a street address which could have been put into the GPS. In fact it was printed on the bottom of the menu. When we finally found the place , we were seated in the comfortable, somewhat formal dining room. By then it was 6:45 p.m., the time of one of our declined reservation requests. There were only 2 other parties in the dining room, which has tables for perhaps 10 or 12 parties. Within 20 min. or so both of the other parties had left. For the next 45 min. or so we were the only party in the dining room. I even asked the server why our requests for 6:45, 7:00 and 7:15 reservations had all been turned down when there was no one else there. No coherent explanation was forthcoming. Nevertheless once we found the place, and managed to convince them to allow us a reservation in an empty dining room, the experience was quite positive. While the menu choices are not that varied, the execution was excellent. After a delicious dinner including fish and beef entrees, we got to the "surprise" dessert. This consisted of being invited into the comfortable lounge in front of a roaring wood fire. There we enjoyed the pistachio foam crème brûlée, and somewhat less satisfying apple cobbler. Our meals, including one glass of French Burgundy each, ran $223. If you are looking for high-end dining in the Keystone area you could do worse than trying to find Ski Tip lodge.

Yelp
We had the 4 course meal on Christmas Day. The butternut squash soup was great along with the bacon wrapped venison. I had the beef tenderloin as my main course. The outside of the steak was a little burnt. To finish I had the apple strudel. This meal was pricey for what you got. With 2 meals and just one glass of wine my husband and I spent $200. It was not on the level of what I expect to get with paying this amount of money

Yelp
Delicious food. Quaint ski lodge feel. Cozy dining makes for a loud dinner. The Ski Tip Lodge, looks just like a romantic storybook ski cabin. White washed walls, North European feel, wood everywhere and fireplaces all around. Inside is warm, inviting, and intimate cabin atmosphere. The dining area feels a little dated and is quite small (10 tables) but the food is spectacular. You'll need a reservation and they only seat at two times (around 6 and 8). Not great for large parties, 4-5 would be ideal. The food is a fixed 4 course meal and comes with fresh baked bread and a wine pairing option. While not ideal for people with dietary needs (gluten or vegetarian) the food is amazing. Even though I hate beets, I tried a Thai inspired beet soup that changed my mind, it was divine. For my main course I had the fresh river fish which came in a savory buttery sauce with roasted brussel sprouts and vegetables. Our server escorted us to the main lounge areas for desert which helped space out reservations and cut noise in the tiny dining area. We left feeling (too) full and had a great time. Traditional french/american culinary feel with international twists. Best for special occasions and not for those who might be hard of hearing or have special dietary needs. Although if you're staying in Keystone, highly worth the visit. Would love to go back.

Yelp
Pricey but fabulous. One of the best dining experiences we've ever had.

Yelp
I love ski tip with my heart and soul... Well since I live next door I must I guess right? I love watching the mountain weddings they have there... oh and the food... The portions are small but I mean its what a 5 course meal so I am stuffed no matter what... then they take you to have your coffee and dessert by the fire and I am in love with that. Love you ski tip... and your dog that hangs out outside too...
