This place hasn't changed much since I attended college here 10 years ago. Absolutely love the atmosphere, and the outdoor patio is such a treat. A few unique drinks, very affordable beers (you can't go wrong with a tall mug), and lively atmosphere with the pool tables and seating areas.

Pretty good bar. My favorite in Brookings. It’s more laid back and not as rambunctious and loud as some other bars here. You can have a conversation with people here. If you want to just grab a beer with a friend and catch up, I recommend this place. Three pool tables here (costs $1.50 to play a game) and a fooseball table ($0.50 for two balls I believe). Of the three bartenders I’ve encountered here so far, all three are good and social people. This place must hire great bartenders. Surprisingly, this bar also has cheaper prices than other bars in town. In my opinion, this place is literally the best in every category.

The best outdoor drinking spot in town. Sadly ruined by all of the smokers. My friends and I would love to frequent the patio, but can't stand cloud after cloud of smoke wafting into our faces.

Rude manager turned off TouchTunes when 10 songs were queued up, three of which were mine. When asking for two dollars back since I wasn’t able to get what I paid, I was told “it is what it is” and basically told to buzz off. As someone experienced in the bar and restaurant business for 6+ years, the level of conflict resolution skills were atrocious over a stolen $2.

I love the atmosphere , style, stuff is friendly and polite , the only thing I don't like - there is NO WiFi

Such a neat place. This bar has been around since the dinosaurs, and I wouldn't change a thing. It's so dark in there, so who knows if it's night or day. They do have a lovely patio area, so snag a seat there in warm weather. If you are inside, get one of the seats by the big front windows. You can bring food in. Pro tip: Pizza King will deliver!!

Love Skinner's patio. Definitely one of the best patios in Brookings. Decent beer selection. Lots of space & pool tables. Good deals.

The finest in Brookings. The popcorn is addictive, the patio is beautiful, the martinis are BIG, and the bathrooms are pristine. This is always my top choice when I'm back in B-town. -1 star for not carrying a decent brand of hard cider. No, Woodchuck does not count. I'd rather drink apple juice. :)

Brau brothers 3 brewing co. oatmeal milk stout from Lucan Minnesota. Pop 220! Good craft brew! Also got a lighter ale from them on tap too pretty good as well! Way to support local craft breweries guys!!

This is my favorite bar in Brookings. Solid draft beer selection (the only bars in town with more are P's and Q's and Wooden Legs). The atmosphere for Skinners exemplifies Brookings for me, its frequented by folks from town and SDSU , its always loud and friendly. They put Tabasco in the popcorn, which is awesome. They have 5 pool tables, 3 dart boards, 1 Foosball table, and 4 video lottery machines. The place is usually packed, so snagging a table might be a challenge. -1 for drink specials. Wednesday they have $2 talls on domestic beers but their other specials are forgettable. I usually go here on the weekends and do Sully's during the weekday.

One of the many college bars in good ole Brookings. Skinner's has several pool tables; playing is a nice break from the mostly standing around and looking at people that you do at all the other bars. I was very pleased to see a couple of Surly beers on tap this past weekend, so I ordered a pint of Hell. Unfortunately, the beer had gone rancid--It passed stale a long time ago, and was undrinkable. I tried to power through a couple sips, but couldn't do it. I brought the beer back to the barkeep, who politely refused my money and poured me a different beer for free, but didn't seem to be very interested that I was informing him that Hell had gone bad. He didn't try a sip out of the tap himself to test it, nor did he remove the tap or throw a plastic cup over it like the cool bars do to inform patrons that it's no longer available. I'd play it off as the bar being too busy, but there were about 10 patrons in place at the time. So, if I was a bettin' man, someone else will get to experience that beer again.

Great atmosphere on a Tuesday. Nice place to just hang out & have a beer. Very friendly staff.

Great service and fun atmosphere. This place is jumpin on the weekends! Pool tables, darts, and a foosball table are spread throughout. The patio is a good time during the summer months.
