The Nashville Bar Hit List: Great New Bars In Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation
"This actual boot-scootin’ saloon is a NY transplant, but other than the famous blue bodega cups holding their famous Original Willie’s Frozen Coffee, you’d have no idea it wasn’t born right here in Nashville. In fact, we’re going to go ahead and claim this one from here on out. There are hot peanuts delivered right away, an old-school Chicago bar rail, real Americana music, and Dr. Pepper, rum, and amaretto drinks that come with a Slim Jim." - ann walczak

Nashville’s New Restaurant Openings - Nashville - The Infatuation
"Brooklyn apparently decided we didn't have enough of our own honky-tonks, so they plopped Skinny Dennis—named after the late bassist Skinny Dennis Sanchez—into East Nashville. Seems like it’ll fit right in with its divey decor, frozen coffee, and free hot peanuts. You can also catch live music there seven nights a week." - jackie gutierrez jones 2

I love Skinny Dennis. As a local, I know I can go any night of the week and see a kick ass band and lots of familiar faces. There’s always room to dance and the staff is great. They only just opened up and already it’s the best place to hang in Nashville. If you are looking for local scene and quality music… come here!!

This place is amazing! Two visits and they were both super fun. Watched a Grateful Dead cover band the first time and witnessed an album release the second time. Total hipster vibe. Incredible music and fantastic service. Must see venue!

What a nice room to hear music! Sound was great. The stage is low, but can be seen from various positions in the room. I wouldn’t recommend trying to park there. Like most of Nashville, parking is nearly non-existent. You will want to ride share. I’ll be interested to see what booking looks like, going forward.

Checked out this bar recently and really loved it. The vibe was chill, stylish, and just the right energy. Great music, solid drinks, and a space that makes you want to stay a while. Definitely coming back.

Seems like a great place BUT wasted Uber ride to get there and back...... We were there to dance to the advertised band at 8:30, unfortunately dance lessons scheduled for 7:30 didn't start until 1.5 hours later at 9!!! 🤦♀️ So we headed back to Broadway, Lots of options to dance!!!! 🤷♀️

Excellent country bands playing real traditional country music! Also some of the most efficient and attentive bartenders I've ever seen.

Awesome sauce! Legendary Brooklyn club named after a Outlaw Country icon comes to Nashville, w a bang! Super fun place w live music every day! Service was crisp , best bar staff I've seen in years! It's NOT a regular new country Nashville bar , it's in E Nashville w the hipsters and Americana fans! My fav was the big sign that said "absolutely, positively no line dancing" lol they also had old Tx throwback Shot n a Beer menu that was great value at $8! My kinda place!!!!!

Great bar if you’re looking for more than your drink to get topped off. The porky proprietors of Skinny Dennis are more than eager to help. Five stars.

Yelp
I'd been to Skinny Dennis a million times in Brooklyn. I wasn't sure what to expect.
It blew me away.
It's huge. They still have the coffee thing.
The bartenders were cool as hell and gave us recs for our trip.
The live music was amazing.
My girlfriend said it was her favorite bar experience ever. It's definitely up there.

Yelp
Live music every night, cold beer in frosty mugs, hot peanuts, amazing food from Sully's Smoke Shack on the patio (quite possibly some of the best fish and shrimp tacos I have ever had in my life), an old fashion on draft so strong it will grow hair on your chest, and the best dance floor on the east side to two-step all night long--the real-deal place to go see country music in Nashville, and by far the best honky-Tonk in Nashville by a mile.

Yelp
Sully's Smoke Shack is fire!!! The bartenders are top-notch, and the music is off the charts!!! What more can I say, other than:
Welcome to Nashville "BK7 and the Skinny Dennis!"

Yelp
packed. head to toe. Great live music and a nice rotating food truck in the back. This turns the bad perception of east nashville folks into a fantastic time machine of happiness, music and good vibes.

Yelp
Tried to go to this bar with my 23yr old son to see some music. The dumb MF door guy told us his Texas ID was fake. Don't go! In fact, come to Austin TX for real music.

Yelp
A cowboy cosplayers dream! A manufactured honky tonk placed in an over gentrified area. Good luck on getting one of their 7 parking spots or paying $30 next door if you don't wanna hunt for street parking. Drink menu is intended to be trendy and not at all serving to a local crowd. High prices and meh service. There are so many better options to patronize in Nashville. Also as a side note...the David Allan Coe post prominently displayed next to the stage feels tone deaf!

Yelp
Amazing live music and fun dancing! Went on a Saturday night and it felt like we got transported back in time. Great country dive bar feel but elevated!

Yelp
My first review I've ever made, but it's well deserved. Skinny Dennis is filled with staff and patrons. I was quickly approached to place an order. While I was waiting for my espresso martini (3 mins max), 3 additional staff members asked if I was good or wanted to order. Despite being busy, they're quick to seek out those who may want to order a drink and are quick to move on to the next person. highly recommend (especially the espresso martini!)

Yelp
stopped into Skinny Dennis tonight and it was genuinely the best Nashville bar experience I've had in years! Liz was our bartender and took such amazing care of us. music and ambience are so amazing, I couldn't believe how busy it was on a Tuesday evening! can't wait to go back.
