Skipjack Oyster

I had a fantastic lunch here, and I want to start by giving a huge thank you to my waitress, Yndira. She provided exceptionally fast service and gave me excellent recommendations that made my meal perfect. I tried the Baked Oysters and the Guacapoke, and both were outstanding. The oysters were prepared beautifully—they aren't fully baked through, so the fresh texture of the oyster is perfectly preserved. They are topped with a delicate cheese crust, a creamy sauce, and crispy bacon. Pro tip: a squeeze of fresh lemon makes them absolutely mouth-watering! I was truly delighted. The Guacapoke (guacamole with tuna) was also exquisite. It had that refined, high-end flavor you only find in top-tier restaurants. Overall, a solid 5-star experience thanks to the delicious food and Yndira’s great service. I highly recommend this spot!

This place. The ambiance. The experience. The attentiveness. Everything was TOP TIER. From the food to the service, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Lilly is the most knowledgeable oyster specialist I’ve encountered and her recommendations were spot on! Dayne was my sweet server who paid great attention to detail and probably waited on me more than I was used to so the standard of excellence here is unmatched. And my dear Yndira has set the pace for service in such a harmonious manner. The staff are so in sync and she doesn’t miss a beat. There’s nothing she is asking of her team that she’s not willing to do herself. I absolutely love this place and can’t wait to come back!

Really wanted to love this place, and to be honest the service and atmosphere was outstanding. Joshua was our server and he was GREAT! There was also a young kid shucking oysters, Charles who was just a great kid, super polite. The reason for less than 5 stars is the food was just average and lacked seasoning. The crab hush puppies were good once they were salted. The clam chowder was barely above room temperature and finding an actual clam was really impossible. I would say it was mostly potato soup, and also lacked salt. The calamari was great, perfectly cooked actually, so that was a plus. The oysters were fresh, but the tuna tartar was a big disappointment. It was simply diced tuna with sesame oil and seeds on some lettuce. There was no acid, no salt, or anything else you’d expect in a tuna tartar. I would definitely go back, just because the place is clean, the atmosphere is great, and the service is exceptional. I understand this is a relatively new place, and I really hope they make.

We only ordered what our wonderful server, Yndira, suggested. She spent so much time explaining her favorites and helping us find the perfect oysters and how to dress them. The hush puppies were hot and full of flavor, and the same with the French toast. But the oysters were fantastic and made the entire meal and Yndira's recommendations were spot on. Can't wait to come back!

We came here to celebrate a birthday and were so pleased with the entire experience! Our waitress Britney was so kind and knowledgeable about the menu, giving us her top recommendations. We ordered the baked oysters, lump crab & artichoke dip, lobster mac & cheese, and clam linguine. Everything was so delicious and portion sizes were large enough for us to share between 2 people. I highly recommend giving it a shot!

Yndira made our dinner experience great! She explained everything and gave us great recommendations!!! The crab hush puppies were delicious and the oysters were so fresh!!! The tequila pineapple oyster shooter was different but great😋 The 50% bubbles special made my night!! The linguine and clams were delectable!! My date had the ceasar salad and she seemed to enjoy it as well. The martini service was highly recommended so don't miss it. Overall it was a great night.

Such a great experience at this oyster bar! The atmosphere was fun and lively, the oysters were incredibly fresh, and everything we ordered was delicious. The drinks were also perfectly made and paired really well with the seafood. Our waitress Yndira truly made the afternoon. she was friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu. She gave great recommendations and made sure we were taken care of the entire time without being overbearing. You can tell she really cares about providing great service. We’ll definitely be back soon, and I hope we get Yndira again!

First time visiting Austin and came across this place because of their happy hour specials. Oysters were delicious and the salmon dip was tasty! Service was quick too! Would definitely come back whenever I visit Austin again.

Great seafood , went here for the Happy Hour, the Oyster lady was very nice and knowledgeable.

I enjoyed their oyster options and visited during their happy hour! All oysters were half off up until about 6:00 or 6:30 ($15/ dozen) and thankfully none of them are gulf oysters. I wasn't a huge fan of the salmon dip. It was overly cream cheesy in my opinion, but to each their own! Other happy hour items include $5 each sliders, half priced select wines and discounted apps. I'm sure I'll venture back to try out more oysters! Ps- this restaurant is located within The Westin hotel.

Absolutely delicious dinner with great service and beautifully designed interior! I was so happy to see another oyster spot in Austin and these were so good especially the ones from PEI. I also ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle which was a wonderful plate! It was a tasty pasta with shrimp, clams, and mussels so perfect for any seafood lover! I came with a large group and the server was super patient and helpful even though they just opened. This is a must try spot if you are in downtown Austin.

Dave at breakfast / brunch is an absolute ambassador of Skipjack. Explained the menu with precision and deft professionalism. Can't go wrong with steak & eggs in the lone star state and Skipjack's does TX proud!

Made a reservation for brunch the Sunday of ACL as they were offering 20% off tab. The meal was good not great, though service was friendly and attentive. My bf and I tried dozen east coast oysters and liked the pairing of sauces (including a smoky option). Next we had shrimp cocktail (standard, good size) the Green Goddess salad (quite bland, needed more dressing or lemon to punch up the flavor), and Lobster Egg scramble (very tasty though the Texas toast-sized brioche was too much bread). For dessert we tried the banana tiramisu which was a very generous portion though again lacking banana flavor. This restaurant is just a few tweaks away from having great food. Nice ambience in the dining room.

Everything we ate was delicious, and our server, Andrea, was fantastic! We did not know the restaurant opened 3 days ago! It's located inside the Westin Hotel, which is beautiful. The service was attentive and helpful, the seafood was fresh, and the restaurant is lovely. Valet parking is available in front of the Westin on 5th. We will definitely be back!

Good food and very clean. A bit pricey but no complaints about the food at all. It's just too fat for us to come often.
