A truly special experience at Skipjack Oyster!
My wife and I came here for our first night out since having a baby to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary, and the entire team made it unforgettable.
From the moment we walked in, the hostess warmly welcomed us and sat us at the oyster bar, which turned out to be the perfect spot. DJ and another chef (I believe her name started with a K) were so engaging — they chatted with us about oysters, how they were trained, and made the whole experience feel fun and personal.
Executive Chef Josh came out to greet us and shared more about the restaurant’s story, and Sous Chef John was incredibly kind. He even gave us a few oysters to taste — his favorite and ours — which was such a thoughtful touch. Our server, Josh, was equally wonderful — attentive, kind, and always checking in to make sure everything was perfect.
We also appreciated the managers who came by to chat and even helped validate our parking — every interaction just reinforced how genuine and hospitable the team is.
Food-wise, everything was outstanding. DJ recommended the shrimp & grits and seafood pasta, and they were both absolutely phenomenal. He also surprised us with a jalapeño chili crisp that was so delicious we’re still talking about it. To top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.
We even happened to be the first guests to use one of their new gift cards, which made the night feel extra special.
We loved the experience so much that we’re coming back tonight to celebrate our son’s first birthday. That should tell you everything about how memorable and welcoming this place truly is.
Skipjack Oyster isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Can’t wait to come back again (and again).
