Had a craving for milkshakes. Only one place worthy...Skipper Dipper of course. I went with Moosetracks Milkshake with Peanut Butter Sauce topping, whipped cream and cherry on top. Delicious and satisfying! The line was long but moved extremly fast. There wete plenty of staff taking care of all the eager customers. Fantastic!

Amazing ice cream always I love getting vanilla peanut butter but I tried their special nutter butter it tasted pretty similar but amazing! My sister has a nut allergy and they were amazing with her and let her check the ingredients of the flavor she wanted to make sure she could eat it

Excellent!! This is a well organized ice cream place with a wide selection of delicious soft and hard ice cream. The young people working there are very patient and efficient! They kept the line moving, served generous portions and made sure the outside tables were clean and that we had plenty of wipes for sticky hands. Great for kids! There’s a ramp for accessibility ♿️, however, there’s a step up into the icecream parlor - there is a window that one can order from outside. Adjacent parking lot, and outdoor tables.

Delicious ice cream with a wide variety of flavors, including a few special ones that rotate throughout the season. They also have oat milk soft serve for anyone who has trouble with dairy (or just prefers it)!

We spent our summer trying different places on the island. Skipper dipper was by far the best!! The service was amazing, friendly and kind. The ice cream was phenomenal and the price was more than worth it. Thank you for being such an amazing ice cream shop.

Love the ice cream here. Prices are very high but expected. The mint chip is to minty, tastes like listerine.Paid almost $7 for a kiddie soft serve. The line was very long but the wait was sufficient

First time here to enjoy its ice cream. Its parking lots are convenient for the customers. It has outdoor seating for you to enjoy your ice cream. Price is reasonable and it tastes great. I had the peanut butter chocolate Kiddie cup... It pretty big and delicious... Staffs also came out to serve you wet hand wipes... Very nice...

Truly a gem in LBI! Everyone is so nice and attentive to you! Love the variety flavors you get for hard and soft serve ice cream. I recommend getting a Strawberry soft serve and S'mores for hard ice cream! You won't regret it.

Loving Skipper Dipper- we both had regular vegan cones. I had the delicious pineapple soft serve and my wife had the chocolate- vanilla oat milk twist on a sugar cone. Great friendly service- cones come in baby - 1 twist, Regular- 2 twists ($5.50) and large- 3 twists. Unusual to see soft serve vegan oat milk ice cream. Yes! Plus the cute Skipper Dipper punch card - buy 10 cones get on free.

The best ice cream place in all of LBI - especially for soft serve - and it isn't even a close race. My family has tried nearly if not all of the ice cream spots on the island over the years, and our favorite hands-down is Skipper Dipper. The staff is super nice, there are hundreds of flavors and combinations, and the shop is very clean. My go-to is a cranberry chocolate cone - nowhere else on the island seems to have a fruit and chocolate swirl. Their pistachio is also incredible. We even get Skipper Dipper in the midst of the summer when the line goes all the way down the block. It is definitely worth it.

There are so many ice cream spots on LBI but Skipper Dipper is definitely in my top 5! They sell Giffords so you know every flavor is top tier. They also have a few non-dairy options! I'm a sucker for peanut butter and chocolate so I had to get peanut butter pie with the chocolate shell. Hits the spot every time!

Tons of ice cream flavors, very efficient fast service for such a busy local attraction down the shore. Accepts both cash and cards -- and has a parking lot on site. Have sizes ranging from kiddie size to large scoops with the ability to choose from 1-2 flavors regardless of the size. Aside from their list of hard ice cream flavors they also have soft serves to choose from, milkshakes, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches and even ice cream carvel style cakes. This isn't a super quick grab and go place due to it's popularity so expect to spend at least 20 mins here. The store itself is a super cute beach town shop that's bright that doesn't offer places to sit down and enjoy your ice cream.

Great spot in LBI. .. all the guys & girls there were awesome , the feel of the place was awesome we stayed the week I checked in once but honestly we went there almost every night !!! Try'd about 6 different flavors. All were very very good can't go wrong great place

Best ice cream on the island! Service is fast and efficient. On a hot summer day, the line gets long, but moves quickly. Get a punch card while you're on vacation and earn some free ice cream by the end of the week. Don't be discouraged by the line, you'll be in and out before you know it. Small parking lot next to the building. Take a walk after dinner if you can.

The options are endless and the ice cream is really good. The cones are made there and also great. I gave them a 5 star rating but I would say it's closer to 4.5 because they are not quick in there and there's always a huge line. The speciality ice creams are so good though.

Great service as always. I never usually catch a line, but this time I did. What I love is that staff members try to take your order while you're in line and still even offer samples if you're unsure. Towards Labor Day weekend they start offering fall flavors like pumpkin pie and cinnamon bun, which is exciting. I got to try a skipper-fy which is adding a chocolate or vanilla soft serve on top of your hard scoop ice cream. It's an amazing choice to do a vanilla Skipperfy with the cinnamon bun ice cream - WOW! Top notch service and ice cream every time, and the people are always so friendly. Skipper dipper is clean , cool, and has a vibe that you'll always want to come back to whenever you're down by LBI. Thanks for a great season!! Looking forward to next year!

My family and I have been going to LBI for 8 years, but 2 years ago, when we found Skipper Dipper, and dessert on LBI had changed forever. This is easily the best Ice cream in LBI, with a wide variety of flavors, toppings, sundaes, and vegan/ gluten free options. Though at times there's a large line, it almost always moves quick and you usually get served within 25 minutes when the line is at its longest, but it's worth it. All of the staff are super friendly, and make sure you get served as soon as possible. It is good to take home, or sit outside on the benches. It is has a fair amount of room to sit outside, and the inside is decorated amazingly and it's really cool to be in. Overall, this is the perfect place for ice cream in LBI and is a good treat after a long day at the beach.

The ice cream here never disappoints! They have so many options and even a good selection of dairy free options! The service is outstanding, even when there's a long line down the road you're never waiting too long. The staff members are all very nice and welcoming! The outdoor seating is a great place to sit and eat your ice cream before heading back home!

Homemade waffle cones, incredible service and a super long list of flavors... oh my! Obviously there are tons of places to get ice cream on the island, but none are quite like Skipper Dipper! Their super long list of flavors included a handful of rotating flavors to keep things interesting. Their waffle cones are homemade, and call for a super large "small" scoop! We went late on a Sunday, so the line wasn't too long, but when it is, employees will take your orders ahead of time so that its ready by the time you get to the counter! I also got a punch card for their rewards system to keep me coming back, as if their anazing ice cream wasnt enough!

Good ice cream and generous portions. The menu is a little confusing (I'd rather flavors just be listed alphabetically) and they were out of a few flavors. Didn't stop us from coming back a second time though!

The best ice cream I've ever had - enough said. I've come here dozens (hundreds?) of times over the years. The line is always out the door and intimidating, but they've got a big staff and they run like a well oiled machine, so it always goes way faster than you'd think. I'm a mint chip fan, so I love the grasshopper sunday.

Skipper dipper came recommended during our visit to LBI and we are so happy we stopped! We saw a line when we walked in the door but we're quickly greeted by a server who took our order before we got to the counter. I couldn't believe with how many people were there our entire experience probably took only 10 minutes. The service is amazing here! The menu is extensive. I ordered a scoop of salted caramel and s'more in a waffle cone. I added on the cookie butter smear to my cone....a must do! It filled the bottom of your cone so you have extra flavors as you get to the bottom. All around a must visit while in LBI!

Skipper Dipper has been around forever for a reason. They consistently offer delicious ice cream and friendly service. Get there early as the line tends to extend around the building.

I had the bubble gum ice cream not the best but freibds enjoyed there ice cream a lot! Service was slow but took our Orders in line so that was helpful, great atmosphere, very nice people. Would recommend!

We went to skipper dipper over the weekend, a little bit preseason to the major crowds and there is still a little bit of a line out the door. Once we got our ice cream and malt shake it was clear why. Skipper dipper is clearly in LBI classic. My chocolate peanut butter ice cream, which is my favorite flavor, was perfection and the waffle cone tasted like it was made fresh, among the best that I have had! I would absolutely recommend Skipper dipper to anybody visiting Long Beach Island I'm looking for an ice cream spot. I believe their hours are later over the summer, or at least longer. Everything here looks really good and I will definitely be coming back on any future Long Beach island visits and recommending list to others! It seems like they have all the classics and then some twists and unique flavors both hard ice cream and soft serve, shakes and malts, and more!

Ah, Skipper Dipper. My love. My swan song. How I long to return for my free ice cream that I have earned thanks to 10 punches on my visit card. Maybe next time. No, definitely. A Vanilla Peanut Butter Sundae with dry walnuts, whip and two cherries please. Sam is the best dipper in my opinion but all are truly diptastic. Soft serve is delicious, hard flavors are uniquely named and delectable. A creature of habit, I stick to my Vanilla Peanut Butter Sundae but I appreciate a sample here and there. Toasted Coconut is excellent. Fat Elvis is a fun combo. I hear Maine Blueberry is great but it always sells out before I can sample. Plenty of Dole Whip and Italian Ice too. Warning: the line is long at night but LBI evenings are pleasant and the authorized dippers start taking your order and delivering to you while you wait to check out. Afternoons are slower if you prefer to skip in then. Tables with umbrellas outside for you to dip under with fellow ice cream aficionados. I'll be back Skipper Dipper. Yes, I'll drive the two hours from North Jersey back to LBI for an end of summer scoop! Wait for me.

This is the SPOT for ice cream. Cannot be beat. Service is efficient and thoughtful (we have a peanut allergy and they were beyond accommodating). So many options! Tried the coconut milk soft serve and it was great. Vegan options!! Definitely worth stopping by.

Don't let the lines discourage you - this is a well oiled operation that gets customers in and out quickly while being friendly and upbeat. There is a dizzying amount of flavors (including customizable soft serve, oat milk, and Dole Whip options) and toppings, and the portions are quite generous. If you want homemade hard ice cream, you might be a little disappointed (to their defense, with the volume of customers they serve, it would be a massive undertaking). However, if you want a great experience and refreshing ice cream from an LBI institution, this is a must-stop.

Our favorite among the many LBI ice creams shops. Despite the long lines, they have a great system and the servers are extremely friendly and helpful. Whether you like soft serve, regular ice cream or an assortment of sundaes, shakes, floats, whatever, you won't be disappointed.

This is hands down the best ice cream place on the island. They have a large menu with many different options for everyone, I have been coming here for years and have never been unsatisfied. The staff is super friendly and works efficiently despite the long lines, the wait time is super quick. Overall fantastic place and definitely a staple if you're looking to get ice cream on the island!

In the summer expect a long wait and line but is worth it, if you are visiting the island. So many choices and their ice cream is amazing. They have a gluten free menu and also gluten free cones!!

There is a line to get in because the place is 100% legit. Don't let the line scare you off, this place runs like a Swiss watch. Servers come out to the folks on line and things move very quickly. The ice cream is terrific! We've also ordered ice cream cakes from them that were out of this world!

Best ice cream spot on LBI. So many unique flavors and the cones are big! The staff is incredibly organized despite the huge line we were in. They moved us along well and I'd was totally worth the visit. The pistachio ice cream was really really good, many fantastic flavors making it hard to choose so that makes me go back again and again, Don't miss it if you are there!

Skipper Dipper is a very successful ice cream place in a great location right on the boulevard on LBI, across the street from the ACME. I have gone there so many times. Their ice cream really is good, and one reason I like it is because they have lots of turnover. It does not sit and get stale. It has an upbeat atmosphere. I like their wheelchair accessible ramp. The only thing is that they are insanely busy throughout the summer. It gets just so busy that it becomes not worth it to wait on the line. Keep in mind that they have an efficient system to manage the crowds, but I still wonder what else they could do. Why don't they expand? At that rate, I often just go home and eat the ice cream from my freezer than pay the upgrade to eat it out there. Call me silly, but I don't like paying extra money and waiting on line for a long while for a convenience service. I also do not understand why they were closing in the middle of locals' summer, and especially closing on a weekend when temperatures were in the 90's. Strange! But I am sure they have their reasons.

This place pulls us in like a magnetic force anytime we're on LBI - regardless of if it's anywhere in our route or not. Heading to Barnegat lighthouse? Must get skipper dipper. Quick trip to ship bottom! Must get skipper dipper. Every. Single. Time. Don't be intimidated by the line - this place is the fastest most efficient ice cream shop in the world. I said it. And they are always smiling. My favorite is chocolate chip cookie in a waffle cone. It's life changing in the best of ways.

One of the best ice cream shops I've had the pleasure of visiting! So many flavors of both hard ice cream and soft serve with different variations of making orders which is so unique. Ice cream is extremely flavorful, thick and creamy. Huge portions and you get what you pay for. The s'mores flavor was out of this world! Inside was like a marshmallow sauce of some sort, just outstanding! Cotton candy flavor was so sweet and the cupcake soft serve really did taste like a funfetti cupcake. Amazing how close they got it to taste like the real thing. Also very efficient service -- they had employees step out into the line as well as standing behind the counter taking orders. Very late summer hours which is convenient for locals and night owls. Do NOT miss out on Skipper Dipper when visiting LBI!

Skipper Dipper has always been a regular stop for me when in LBI because of the number of options, with even some for us non-dairy folk. Whatever I get is always fresh. There are long lines during peak season, but rarely a very long wait because the staff are consistently efficient - and friendly! I've been getting ice cream cakes in recent years for birthdays and get rave reviews about the quality of the ice cream in the cake.

As a veteran ice cream scooper and commander of custard, I know a thing or two about frozen treats. Skipper Dipper has got their method down to a science! Yes, this is a very popular business and it's likely that you will have to wait in line. However, once you get to the part that snakes inside the building, you're in luck. That's because they have employees who walk into the line to take orders. So by the time you get up to the counter for payment, you have ice cream in hand! My first (and definitely not last) visit yielded a glorious cake cone which was fully loaded with mint chocolate chip and coffee ice creams. The ice creams were high quality; full of flavor and desired creaminess. Those scoops tho.

Any ice cream place that has Moontracks has an automatically 4 stars... :) and then the service is on point! The girls really hustle and tend to their customers! This place gets busy! Must have been 20 people inside waiting for ice cream on a Wednesday evening!!! But the line went fast because they staff there really hustles! And that's makes me give this place 5 stars!! The signs are clear and helps you figures out what you want and how much what you want costs. They have a parking lot for about 10 cars which is nice. They have a handicap ramp which makes it a nice touch for handicap or moms with strollers. Again it's so nice to find a place that has my favorite ice cream... not something you find in stores in most populated areas... I find them in shore or wood/mountain communities only. Moontracks is vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cup and fudge. Yummy The serving sizes are generous as well! They have waffles cones also What a treat! Haven't had this since Alaska 2012!

First discovered this place while working nearby. As ice cream stories usally go, i always stuck with what we knew as kids which was harvey cedars ice cream and dairy queen. Traditions die hard but glad my boss treated us to ice cream here because i became a huge devotee. What they do best: soft service. I am a soft serve die hard. I need a certain texture, soft but not melting so quickly you cant savor slowly, and it must be able to hold some sprinkles. I love vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles, it delights my palate simply without too much sweetness, and must say not sure why, some sprinkles are so so good and other just taste stale or sugary Big dipper sprinkles are perfect. their ice cream soft serve is my 1st choice on lbi. Just wish they had cherry dip, but this is a hard sell in 2021. I also got a chance to sample peanut butter vanilla swirl and although their hard ice cream is not homemade, this flavor tasted so, and i will defintely come back to try some of this. Overall, Staff is pleasant, young eager kids who just want to make you enjoy the experience and i felt that. Love that they are open until 11pm when everything in surf city closes at 8 ( thanks covid) Big dipper is my favorite place on lbi for ice cream after 30 or so years, and out of the parlors on the island ( i dont even want to guess the number) that speaks gallons:) Another yelp review for my mainland choice but cant wait to come back here soon...... like tomorrow :)

My favorite ice cream at LBI. Choices galore, including specialty cones like the fresh made waffle cone/bowls and salty pretzel cone. Don't forget made to order mixed in soft serve and great selection of scoops. Portions are generous and fresh! Can't go wrong! Crazy busy in the summer months, but the cheerful staff keep things moving.

BEST ICE CREAM I'VE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN. Must I say more? The cotton candy ice cream here is legendary, the flavor when you take your first bite just rushes to your taste buds...the conflict the the blue and pink cotton candy just goes so well, as well as they have these chunks of sprinkles of some sort layered within the ice cream that gives it such a unique texture!!! Every flavor here shoots out and tastes like the real thing, we got s'mores which was delicious. And I got a nutter butter flavor that was layered with chunks of cracker and peanut butter it tasted legit like the real thing. Everything just is so fresh and delicious. Also check out their homemade cones! So so good the salted one I had every bite it had that nice sea salt after taste so good.

BEST place for ice cream on the island, hands down! Portions are almost obscene, hot fudge is thick and rich and delicious, and our server even explained that he didn't "cheat" on the hot fudge, HE MADE A CRATER yes he did!!! My scoops of mint chocolate chip and salted caramel surrounded a crevasse of hot fudge. So so good. And the price is RIGHT. Don't go anywhere else.

I love Skipper Dipper!! When visiting LBI, my family likes to visit Skipper Dipper at least twice. There are vegan options which we love! It's so hard to find good vegan ice cream. They have so many flavors of both soft serve and hard ice cream. My personal favorite is definitely the soft serve cranberry. It's so tasty!! They also do a punch card system. I believe it's 10 punches and you get a free ice cream. That is definitely worth it for my family of 5. I would definitely check this place out if I were you! Our visits to LBI wouldn't be complete without it. And don't let the long line scare you away! It moves quickly.

We stopped by here for an ice cream fix on our way out of LBI, and were glad we did. We had the chocolate chip cookie ice cream with chocolate sprinkles, and a pineapple Dole whip. We got kiddy cup sizes and they were both two nice scoops. Delicious! Took a picture with Skipper Dipper as well!!
