It’s worth the wait and a little extra $. The atmosphere, service, cocktail craftsmanship were all 5/5. The tiki vibe is very well done, kitschy, yes, but it has to be. All adornments are high end. The cocktails were well balanced while being alcohol forward as requested. We sat inside but the outside is quite nice. Expect you could get a little wet with a passing shower. All servers were friendly and knowledgeable. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. We didn’t go there for the food but the lettuce wraps with pork and coconut rice on the side were excellent.

I love anything tiki and this one nails it! Great food, even better drinks, and the nicest staff. Small, cozy, and perfect for our Halloween night, everyone was dressed up and the vibe was spot on. Can’t wait to come back!

What a find!!!! Not often do you stumble upon a place that when you walk into it, you mouth sort of hits the floor. I wasn’t expecting the decor, vibe, drinks, staff, to be excellent. The drinks were delicious, the music was right, and the decor is carefully selected. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. It’s a tiki vibe but doesn’t give you Disney or Pier One. Some of the pieces look and are artifacts. I will admit, it’s a little on the spendy side. The cocktails are all about $20+ but well worth it if you’re looking for a good vibe with craft cocktails and food.

Ive been to many bars in my life, especially ones which specialize in bespoke cocktails. This bar was one of the best. This tiki bar had some of the coolest artifacts I've ever seen. The bartender, Mike, was really attentive, recommended drinks that matched our tastes and his presentation was excellent. The Skull and Crown was a good starter, but i was blown away by their Crystal Skull, Old Fashioned and Bird of Paradise. Also, the food options were also good too, I would recommend their Lucky Lantern Chicken and Ube Tres Leches. Skull and Crown should be on top of everyone's list.

Where do I even start with this spot! I’ve been wanting to get to Skull and Crown for ages and finally did! The decor and atmosphere is everything you could ask for in a modern tiki establishment. The cocktails were the best I’ve ever had in my entire existence on this earth. The menu complimented their cocktail perfectly. Highly recommend! I know I’ll be back for sure.

Don’t come to Skull & Crown if your goal is to get sloppy drunk on tiki drinks. Not because it can’t happen, trust me, the pours are generous, but because that’s not the point. In a city where every corner shoves a happy hour Mai Tai in your face (spoiler: those aren’t Mai Tais), Skull & Crown offers something different and memorable. If you want the snob’s Mai Tai -- the kind reverse-engineered from Trader Vic’s original blueprint and balanced like a tightrope walk, you drink it here. My husband and his best friend are amateur mixologists with a copy of the Smuggler’s Cove cocktail book dog-eared and stained with every flavor of simple syrup known to man. The redacted Dagger Mai Tai on their menu (you'll know it when you see it) was developed with Smuggler's Cove. When you start making your own syrups, buying obscure spices no one keeps in their pantry, learning what "balanced" actually means in a glass, you stop seeing cocktails as alcohol delivery systems and start tasting them like cuisine. Listen, I still love a trashy happy hour with bottom-shelf booze, but Skull & Crown reminded me why it's called a CRAFT cocktail. If Olive Garden is the fanciest restaurant you've ever been to and suddenly you have some money to spend, you have to experience fine dining just for the sake of it. This is that equivalent. However, I'm just a stranger on the internet, so, do whatever you want. I'm not your mother. That said, the cocktails are only half the story. What makes this place a hidden gem isn't just feeling like you're in the live action Scooby Doo movie, but the staff. Our host, Christopher, helped us shift a late-night reservation when we dropped by early after the Bishop Museum. Tina, our server, was stellar: attentive, honest, and sharp as a blade. She suggested we spike the Ube-Bae (listed as a mocktail) with a splash of rum, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it became the best drink I’ve ever had: a boozy "milkshake" made of purple dreams. I’m now on a personal mission to recreate it at home. It's going terribly. Tina also suggested my second drink, the Pua 'Ula'Ula, based on what I liked: once again, spot on. She knows her stuff. My one regret is not getting the bartender or kitchen staff's name. The food was great, too. Shrimp ceviche and squid skewers, if memory serves. We ordered mostly to avoid the spinning-room sensation after round two, but it was good, better than it needed to be. Do not skip dessert. Get the ube tres leches (you'll thank me!!) My husband tried the Dagger Mai Tai, King Ko Swizzle, and the Clarified Zombie. We wanted to keep going, believe me, but we’re in our thirties now. There's a fine line between revelry and ruin. Before we left, we picked up a bottle of their Traders Club Kila rum, partnered with Ko Hana (the local distillery) and a souvenir glass by a local artist. Skull & Crown is serious about drinks, serious about detail, and fully leans into the tiki camp with an intimate, local touch.

What. An. Awesome. Place. Our group made reservations and had an amazing meal here. We were brought here with the promises of good tiki drinks and they absolutely delivered on that. We figured we'd have dinner here, but I ended up ordering almost one of everything. What an incredible meal! Everything was incredibly flavorful, well made, and somewhat complex in the flavor composition. I only regret is that we didn't have bigger stomachs to order more food. Ceviche, lettuce wraps, nachos, noodles, Ahi... We just went on and on with our ordering and eating. Highly recommended.

Came here with a group of 4 and had a great time. The drinks are tasty and well decorated. The staff is also super friendly, shout out to Tina! Would highly recommend.

The rangoon nachos were excellent and I don't really care for seafood! Not that it was very seafood to begin with. The size of the place is great. It wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday night. We're still glad we had a reservation though. Ordered the Dagger Mai Tai, Lapu Lapu, Bird of Paradise, and Zombie. With the nachos bill was $99. They were all great. I don't know if it's because I had it last, but the Zombie was an Avengers level threat and put me on my butt.

Been here before a few years ago, thought we would come back on our recent trip to the island. We made a reservation for 10:30 PM and arrived at 10:40 PM -- yes, a little late, but what's frustrating is that last call was also at 10:30 PM. If the bar stops serving at that time, why even allow reservations that late? It makes no sense to accept bookings when guests won't be able to order anything. The staff wasn't rude, but the whole setup felt poorly managed and misleading. Definitely not the kind of experience you'd expect when you plan ahead and make a reservation.

Skull & Crown Trading Co was such a fun spot with full-on tiki vibes. The decor is awesome--from the mermaid perched on the back bar to the life-size tiki statue--and the atmosphere feels like an escape. Service was excellent; the team was personable, attentive, and clearly knew their cocktails. Every drink was a hit, especially if you're into tiki-style creations. We've been on the hunt for the best Mai Tai in Oahu, and the Maunakea Mai Tai was our favorite so far. They offer a few versions, but the Maunakea comes closest to the original Trader Vic classic. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Oahu!

Absolutely worth visiting if you are looking for a fun tiki bar experience with amazing food just outside of Waikiki. I liked everything we tried and the favorite was a tie between the nachos and bolognese (mala flavor was a nice touch). Just a note, the area is a bit sketch but there is a garage nearby across from the Honolulu police station if you are looking for a spot.

Great spot for drinks, the staff is super friendly and the Tiki theme inside is so fun! We came on a Friday night post-dinner so it was quite packed, but the staff made do and had us sit by the piano until a table opened up. I had the crystal skull drink which is there most popular drink and really good -- can't even taste the alcohol. Had a great time here!

Was able to snag a no reservation table during first Friday! Very small and cramped space, but nice, ambient, with decor vibin with one another. Mai tai was traditional, don't remember anything special about it.

Great cocktails, amazing service, creative dishes, and beautifully decorated (couldn't stop looking around and people kept taking pictures). We even learned about the history of tiki from our waiter. We loved the experience so much my fiancé got a t shirt. Would definitely recommend.

This establishment is much more than a tiki bar or rum joint. The drinks are elevated and purposeful with excellent presentation. I can't say I begin to understand the levels because I am no craft bartender but I definitely enjoy sipping on these libations and they pack a punch. The food is so inventive and Laotion which is not something I have had before this restaurant. I love all of the dishes I have had the pleasure of trying. The Lucky Lantern Chicken, the Crab Rangoon Nachos, the Shrimp Skewers, the Shrimp Ceviche, the smashed potatoes of which I cannot remember the name and have such a refreshing taste. The food is for sharing and plentiful per plate. On average when I eat here I leave stuffed and haven't made it to dessert. One day I hope to mention how that part of the menu tastes. To recap, you must try this place and I'll be back!

From the street, this restaurant does not look like much. Upon entry, however, you are transported to a venue that reminds you of the Pirates of Caribbean but Hawaii. I do not rave this much about decor, but Skull & Crown Trading is unique. The food and drinks are just as good as the decor. Most of the items on the menu are meant to share, so this is the perfect place to go with friends before going out on the town. Everything was delicious! I cannot recommend the lucky lantern chicken enough. We got two orders of it because it was that good. Our servers were friendly and were attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend going here!

Amazing experience every time, does not disappoint! Very elevated and sets the mood with its dark ambience, perfect for couples or even a group of friends grabbing drinks and some bar bites. Always warm welcoming and all the times I've been here we were able to walk in and get seating. Drinks and food have always been a hit.

Wow! Skull & Crown blew us away with their attention to detail, service, and drinks. The decor seems very thought out and there are things to see in every nook and cranny. We were in Hawaii celebrating an event- knowing about my reservation, my best friend called from the states and asked them to make our night special. And boy did they deliver!!! They made our night super fun. The 3 dishes we had were yummy, but the drinks were the most memorable. The collab between them and a California based tiki bar was a Mai Tai that is out of this world! And their mocktail with Ube left me wanting so much more Ube! The bartender Mike made me an off menu Ube tiki drink and it was extremely yummy. I'll definitely be back if I'm over in Oahu again!

Love this place so much! Huge tiki bar fan and this place was so unique! The decor was a darker more haunting style of tiki bar. Think shrunken heads in jars and a mermaid with a soul piercing stare. We were a walk in (recommend reservations if you think about it ahead of time) but we got in right away and were seated at the bar. Bartender was amazing and very attentive. Food was soooo good. I'll be thinking about those dishes for years to come. Honestly, this place would be the main reason for another trip to Hawaii. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We came here as a recommendation from a friend. The location is not great in downtown Chinatown. We got towed after 30 minutes and the signage was not marked nor was the sidewalk painted. A $200 bill plus the dinner... The inside has a unique ambiance. It's dark and Hawaiian but underwater type theme. It was cute but small. We sat at a long table with a booth on one end and a chair on the other. It was nice and tight with our neighbors. We had the rum flight, which was unique and yummy. The presentation was beautiful on a barrel piece. The rums were Hawaiian and unique. Our waiter got our original drink wrong after we specified which one. We ended up keeping the wrong one and getting the original one we ordered. He did not offer to take off the mess up off our tab. The pain killer and the crystal skull were both great drinks! The crystal skull was dark liquor but sweet and also subtle. The ceviche to start was the best thing we ordered all night. It was a different ceviche than what I'm used to. It had more of a thicker coconut base but it was absolutely delectable and the shrimp chips paired with it were fluffy and the perfect touch. For dinner I had the noddles, which I thought were pretty good. I think they could have been a little spicier. However, I do think the shrimp portion was large and accurate for the pricing. My husband had the ribs and while the meat fell off the bone, it lacked sufficient flavor. Everything is ala carte. Portion sizes are decent. Probably would not revisit.

Love everything about this bar! This is a small tiki bar/restaurant with super cool eccentric decor. The vibe is dark and intimate, perfect for a date night. For drinks we got the dagger mai tai and clarified zombie. The dagger mai tai is strong and fruity. The clarified zombie is on the lighter side but also had a nice fragrant aroma. We were very impressed by the food here. The Rangoon nachos were a total hit. Nothing beats crispy chips topped with crab rangoon filling and sweet chili salsa. We also liked the clams in broth fish. The broth was on the saltier side but it was packed with flavor. The workers were very attentive and friendly. Answered our questions about the drinks and checked up on us often

Dimly lit and nautical-themed with touches of tiki flare. Expect intermittent flashes of light (simulating lightning) around the bar area. Service was timed perfectly such that my hand was never without a cocktail. Highly recommend making reservations because the place is small so seating is limited. THE FOOD. - Nacho Rangoon | Wonton chips with smoky swordfish, spicy pineapple salsa, cream cheese queso, and cucumber slices. Weird pairings of ingredients but it felt right and I loved the flavors. Highly recommend. - Mermaid Purse | A big ass tapioca shell (similar to a shrimp chip, texture-wise) filled with a salad medley and tomato adobo vinaigrette tossed in. Slices of sirloin beef and shrimp top this dish. Vinegar, citrus, and cilantro prominent. Wasn't a fan of the tough sirloin beef, but maybe this isn't typical. - Halo-Halo Tart | Lemon sorbet, red beans, and ube cream all in a graham crust. Interesting take on a Filipino dessert! Definitely something to try out. THE DRUNK DRINKS. - Dagger Mai Tai | Citrusy, cinnamon. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. - Navy Grog | Bitter like my soul with a twist of grapefruit. Love. - Hanalei Moon | A spiced up pina colada on steroids. Delicious. - Painkiller | Tropical flavors and a little clovey from the nutmeg. Nicely done. - Kewalo's Creme Ale | Crisp and light. THE PARKING. I was expecting a bustling Chinatown with extremely difficult street parking, but nah. Chinatown was eerily quiet. Parking was easy to find and free after hours. COMING BACK? Absolutely. What a great restaurant with wonderful cocktails.

Service was awesome! Serious aloha here! Came in on recommendation from another place. Looking for cake and they had a great une très lèche cake. It was dense but good. The atmosphere was great and fun. And located downtown Chinatown it was a welcome change of pace. Definitely coming back.

Came to Skull & Crown with friends on a recent trip to Honolulu. The outdoor seating area (shared with neighbor restaurants) is one of the things that stood out - kind of felt like a night market. Very cool! The drinks were great and potent. No watered down beverages here. For food, we ordered the kalbi, nachos rangoon, potato nanban, misoyaki eggplant and gingerbread pudding. The bread pudding and potato nanban really shined - we expected something different from the description of nachos rangoon since we love crab rangoon. In any case, the food was really solid. Service was friendly and attentive, and for 3 people the total came out to $183 including tip, or about $61 per person for drinks, entree and sides and a dessert. Will definitely bring friends back next time I'm in Honolulu.

This hit all the marks for me. My husband and I had a date night and wanted good atmosphere. Skull and Crown was intimate and moody but still fun. All the servers were friendly and had great recommendations. The highlight for me was the food. The "bolognese" was really a fusion dish with excellent fresh noodles, a flavorful creamy curry sauce, ground meat and sort of a bang bang sauce drizzle. It was so good. And the Ube dessert? You can't miss it. I'd go just for that.

Came here while searching things to do in Chinatown. The place didn't disappoint, we were able to get a walk in table (online was all booked out until late night). We ordered the nachos Rangoon and lucky lantern chicken. The nachos were soooo good!!! Swordfish nachos for $16?!? Honestly this alone made it worth it. Tiki drinks were a solid price compared to main Waikiki area. And i like that the owners are so protective of their dagger Mai tai ingredients that even the staff don't know what's in it.

This is not my first time visiting and definitely not my last. For myself I don't drink often but definitely enjoy a good cocktail, but also have a few cocktails for those that don't drink at all. A variety of cocktails and beers. Something for everyone. A cute quaint tiki bar. Our server was friendly and gave recommendations that were superb.

Pros: Drinks, food, service Cons: Not a huge place Details: I would say get a reservation if you have a large group. We lucked out because a large group left shortly after we arrived and they were able to accommodate the 12 of us. Christopher welcomed us in and even gave us recommendations and Sophia was a wonderful waitress. I didn't catch the bartenders name bbut he was working alone and never got a chance to slow down. Again, I can't say enough about the service, it was 11/10. The drinks were also eexcellent but my favorite was the Dagger Mai Tai. Just delicious. Other drinks were all good too and we tried almost everything bbetween our group. Did I mention the service (Christopher, Sophia) was great? Because it was exceptional!

For ambiance alone, 5 stars. Cake 4 stars. Service was great! Adorable hostess. One of the cooler places to get into. Definitely coming back!

Stopped in Chinatown after a day at the Bishop Museum and found this hidden gem of a tiki bar. The food was on point, (we had the lettuce wraps, the kalbi ribs and fluffy jasmine rice) - everything was so fresh and the flavors were both subtle and delicious. The chef is a sweetheart and all of the staff are so friendly. Drinks were beautiful and tasted fantastic! We will definitely be back soon!!!

We started our happy hour early, and ended our night at the Skull. What a fun place to come to! I do recommend reservations because the space is cozy. Lots of fun seafaring things to look at! I ordered the Taboo and it had a really nice kick to it! The shrimp ceviche was delicious! And I really liked the eggplant. The ice cube in JoJo's Crystal Skull was really cool! And the smoking Trader Noa's was also very good and loved the presentation! We ended our nosh with the halo halo tart...sooooo good! Our server was great! The manager was really cool! Just a couple of miles removed from the slick hustle of the usual "meh" beach hotel mai-tai's is Skull & Crown. This place offers "The Dagger", the best mai tai I've ever had in Hawaii. But they are secretive about it, as the menu blanks out the ingredients. I told the server it was the best I'd had since I frequented Smugglers Cove in San Francisco. She told me that the bartender actually had developed the recipe with the folks at Smugglers Cove. For me, that is the ultimate seal of excellence. Didn't try any food, but we just loved the atmosphere and decorations. Rum, don't walk, to S&K.

The atmosphere is good, a mix of Hawaiian and goth, I'd say. The atmosphere is severely hampered by the imposition of virtual menus. This business has lost out on a good opportunity to add to their atmosphere with a unique physical menu. Also, the LED lights at the tables should be replaced by oil lamps, candles, or the like! The food had good presentation but was expensive, especially for Chinatown, and I would say the flavor was lacking a bit. The S&C Noodles dish left an odd stinging taste / effect in my mouth. I did really appreciate the copper drinking cups, though!

A small, charming spot in Chinatown with fantastic decor and ambiance. The vibe is cozy and stylish, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The cocktails were absolutely top-notch! My husband enjoyed the TRADER NOA'S OLD FASHIONED, while I tried the MAUNAKEA MAI TAI and the KŌLOA COLADA. Each drink was expertly crafted and delicious. For dinner, I opted for the LUCKY LANTERN CHICKEN, which was flavorful and satisfying. My husband had the S&C NOODLES, and he was equally impressed. The service was excellent--attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

This bar is definitely one of my faves here in Honolulu! If you come here, sit at the bar for the best experience! Our bartenders were the best were they gave us a show and watching them make those beautiful drinks was fun! Service was top notch plus presentation of everything from food, drinks, decor in the bar. Food was great! Gotta get their Lucky lantern chicken! We also enjoyed all their drinks! Painkillers drink was my fave! Ava Ava mai tai was lit up which made it fun. Bartenders also graced us with a mini fire show. Such a fun experience and there's no other bar like here in Honolulu!

I worked in Chinatown years ago when this place was called 2 Jacks Bar. Wow, what a pleasant change. They even got rid of the old smell. I like rhum drinks and they don't disappoint. Friendly service and eclectic menu. Put it on you "dive bar" list

I love me a themed bar! The tiki bar decor was a mix of spooky and pirates or the Caribbean vibe. I love how they put their own spin on Mai tais and there is so much to choose from. 2 different Mai tais I tried had a "show" that includes fire. Highly recommend these. My personal favorite was the pina colada. Saturday night had live entertainment at the piano and they were amazing.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere here. The tiki theme is so well articulated, with the aesthetic, ambiance, food and drinks. Our group had quite a few drinks and dishes, all so delicious. The a/c works well here, and the staff were really nice. Our whole party loved the experience.

I really enjoyed my time at Skull and Crown Trading, and look forward to going again! We went around 7:15pm on a Friday night, so we were very lucky to get seats at the bar. It is a small place, so I would recommend reservations on Friday and Saturday nights. We were greeted by Christopher, who took excellent care of us; he even chatted with us and answered all our questions. It is a tiki bar, and I think that's what gives it its fun personality. They paid a lot of attention to decor with many cool antiques. Even a piano for live music Saturday nights. The drinks are impressive and the food is good. I definitely recommend the Beef Skewers.

Walked by this place and had to check it out. It's a very authentic well done tiki bar, not tacky. They have a legit Mark V diving helmet and the rest of the decor is top notch as well. The drinks were just as good as the ambiance, and Mike the bartender made the experience. Will be back, and with friends!

We went for my husband's birthday, and those cocktails.... ay, que rico! They know their stuff. The place has a super cool vibe, very laid-back and fun. You feel like you're with family! We had a really good time, just enjoying the drinks and the buena onda. One little thing, I asked for a candle for the birthday drink, and nothing happened. Qué pena! But anyway, you should totally check it out. You'll love the drinks, te lo juro!

We were visiting Hawaii and stayed by the area. We saw all the amazing reviews and we had to check this place out! We were able to get a reservation through Resy last minute. We came for 10pm, sucks that we had missed their last call for food. However we had the skull drink, bartender said it had 6oz of liquor in it. Obviously we were down. The presentation was amazing! Drink tasted great, we can definitely taste the liquor in there. It has a pretty spooky decor. The place closed at 11, we had a drink and left. Definitely recommend!

If you enjoy tiki bars, Skill & Crown Trading is a must visit. The drinks here are well-balanced and there was not a single drink I tried that was too sweet. As someone who enjoys alcohol-forward cocktails, there were two drinks I was excited to try: Trader Noa's Old Fashioned and the Dagger Club Killa. These drinks were stiff! If you're looking for an over-the-top cocktail that's perfect for social media content, look no further than the Skull & Crown cocktail. When you order this drink, it comes in a giant skull vessel and you get a fire show to accompany the delivery of the drink. In addition to wonderfully crafted cocktails, the food here is also quite good. I had a chance to try out the beef skewers, misoyaki egglant, shrimp ceviche, kalbi ribs, and autumn spiced apple cake. Of these dishes, I enjoyed the beef skewers the most. The beef was incredibly tender and the chimichurri sauce smothered over the top was well-balanced. The other dish I really enjoyed was the dessert. The apple cake was moist, not too sweet, and the apple bits were a good crunchy contrast. Service here is also fantastic. Our server Tina had great recommendations for both cocktails and food. Throughout our meal, they were very attentive clearing our table, refilling our waters, and checking up on us as well. I am definitely stopping by again on my next visit to Oahu.

This little hole in the wall bar in Chinatown is absolutely amazing, the ambiance, food, and drinks! Our server gave us great recommendations for drinks and food. Our server's name was Tina! We ordered the Crystal Skull, Dagger Mai Tai, and Koloa Colada for drinks. Which we rated. 5/5 for all three drinks. My Crystal Skull was insanely smooth, but appears like an old fashioned drink. It had less of an alcohol aftertaste than the other two! The food we ordered are Lucky Lantern Chicken, Beef Skewers, Misoyaki Eggplant, and Potato Nanban. The Lucky Lantern Chicken was nicely seasoned and big portions as well. The Beef Skewers with Chimichurri sauce were amazing. Everything is definitely recommended and tried! Worth the visit tenfold!

A few drinks into the night and everything started getting fuzzy, but core memories of Skull & Crown were amazing vibes, great service, delicious food, and amazing cocktails. Peep all the pics! My personal favorite was the one that is espresso martini-like. Our server made great recommendations, and we definitely ordered a few based on seeing them on nearby tables. The 2-person drink definitely has a wow factor with a little fire element. Really enjoyed the cinnamon kick on it. Food wise the nachos, potatoes, and pineapple upside down cake were so good! Definitely wanna come back to try more dishes. They share bathrooms with Olays in the courtyard, but also have a single bathroom in the restaurant. Smack dab in Chinatown so parking can be a challenge, although there are parking garages nearby. I hear there's live music some nights, so we'll definitely be stopping back to check that out. Reservations are easy to reserve via OpenTable on their website.

I want to go back to Skull & Crown Trading at least once a month! This is the perfect date spot! I'm so happy I was finally able to attend with my husband. Yes, I said 'attend,' because it felt like a culinary event! The drink creations were unlike anything I've experienced on Oahu in a while. I love that the drink and food menus offered something uniquely different! I have to go back for the dessert, it looked amazing! The entire team was so artistic and hospitable. I felt like we became instant regulars, they were all so attentive and kind. Even the other customers were cool. Just an overall delightful experience!

I think I've had one of my the best service experiences of my life. Matt and his co-workers really did an amazing job. They, especially Matt, obviously take pride in their work! They were speedy, responsive, and accommodating. For drinks, I only had the Crystal Skull but it was really great. We had the S&C noodles and the mabo dofu. Both were very nice. I think I preferred the mabo. Can't really put it into words why. Definitely try the ube tres leches! I really liked that the bar wasn't crazy dark. I went with someone who is low light intolerant. Would totally recommend, thanks Matt !

Hey local folks.. Check this place out! Yeah it's a tiki bar but it's definitely not a cheesy, touristy tiki bar. There's so much attention to detail in the decor. There's something cool everywhere you look. I figured the place would be cool but wasn't sure about the food. The food was super good! We got the nachos, potatoes, and kal bi. Every dish was excellent. Even the slaw that came with the kal bi was delicious! And if you going out, you wanna have decent service. The service was amazing! Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Go check em out!

We love this place! My wife and I have been to Hawaii 3 times and have been to S&C 6 times that should tell you everything you need to know. The food here is awesome. The drinks are amazing and the staff is second to none. The staff is incredible, from the hostess to the wait staff to the bartenders.

Walking in to Skull & Crown Trading Co. is like running through Platform 9 3/4 in Harry Potter but instead of being transported to the Hogwart's Express, you are whisked away to the dark, kinda spooky, yet kinda cool abandoned restaurant in The Goonies, which is pretty freaking cool! You are greeted with eerie yellow lights as you walk in, a moose head, a boar's head, and skulls add to the ambience of Skull & Crown. Above the bar, there lies a mysteriously beautiful mermaid. Reservations are easy through Resy. If you aren't particularly tech savvy, you can most definitely call to make a reservation. They tend to be busier closer to 7PM so visit earlier if you prefer to avoid the rush. Their menu has changed since my very first visit, but that's not a bad thing! Their chef has many years of experience under his belt and has a hankering for elevating dishes to match the S&C vibe! My current favorites are: SHRIMP CEVICHE Tahitian-inspired. Marinated with Citrus, Herbs and Shallots. Tossed with Coconut Cream and House-made Hot Sauce. BEEF SKEWERS Mauka Meats Veal Sirloin, Marinated in Smoked Onion Shio Koji and Grilled over Binchotan. Served with Chimichurri. MISOYAKI EGGPLANT (V) Criss-cross Eggplant Smothered with Corn Miso and Torched with Passion. KALBI RIBS Braised Pork Ribs Glazed in Kalbi Sauce. Served with a Side of White Kimchi Slaw. PINEAPPLE RIGHT-SIDE-UP CAKE Lilikoi, Guava and Maraschino Cherries atop a Brown Butter-seared White Cake with Double Fat Ice Cream Haupia Sorbet. I am not much of a drinker (yes, I totally go there for the food!) but they do a pretty impressive line-up of S&C Signature Cocktails, Trader's Choice drinks, Classic Tiki drinks, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. I once drank 2 Ube-Bae mocktails (Ube, Pineapple, Coconut, Lime) at dinner...they're really good AND you can ask them to make it with alcohol if you prefer! The service given to all who visit Skull & Crown is pretty epic. The bartenders and servers are always friendly, attentive, and social. Their GM ensures their service continues to be stellar and often jumps in to make sure service continues without a hitch, even if they are short-handed. I highly recommend visiting Skull & Crown Trading Co. It is located in Chinatown in Honolulu. There are a few parking lots close by that you can park at if you aren't lucky enough to find street parking.

We found this place to go to for dinner during our visit to Honolulu and it did not disappoint! I love how the place was decorated! It's definitely a tiki bar you'll want to visit! The host and waiter were super nice and always checked in with us. Their food was amazing! It's kind of a type of Asian fusion food that I've never had before so it was very unique for us. We got the mermaid purse (a large plate for sure! The beef sirloin was flavorful and the herb salad made the dish more refreshing with a nice crunch from the tapioca shell!), the nacho Rangoon was so tasty and a great appetizer, Neptune's Harvest was probably my favorite dish (the seafood in it was so fresh and the broth was so flavorful!, the potato nanban was my least favorite dish (they were big potatoes that seemed to just be fried and tossed in some sauce). All of their cocktails looked interesting, the ones we tried were strong but yummy! I would definitely come back here! It's also a nice place for small groups!
