Dallas and Fort Worth Restaurant and Bar Openings in 2022 - Eater Dallas

"In Dallas’s Design District, another spot with amazing views is now open. Sky Blu has floor-to-ceiling windows, so everywhere you sit has a view, and it sits on top of the Tru by Hilton Dallas Market Center." - Courtney E. Smith

Absolutely beautiful view from all angles. Good drinks and nice staff. I would recommend this place as a night out starter or finisher with a special someone or just with friends.

Great escape. Beautiful bar. I always enjoy sunset!! Its a great place to host an event. It's definitely in my top rooftop bars in the downtown area. And if ya have too much fun you can book a room. 😁 All I know is it's going to be a hot summer and you might as well enjoy it up in the sky with a spiked frozen something... They have like three options and they're all delicious. Definitely make a stop. Not going to break the wallet and your date will enjoy!!

Valet parking in the back of the building. The building looks modern and clean. This was my 2nd visit. During this visit the elevators weren't working when we arrived for a networking event. The host greeted us in the lobby and provided great refreshments and beverages and gave us the choice of walking up 9 flights of stairs to join the rest of the participants of the event. We walked the 9 flights of stairs and had a fantastic time. The views from the rooftop were great. It was after sunset and the breezes were perfect. After the event we all proceeded to walk down 9 flights to exit the event. I feel bad for anyone with disabilities staying at the hotel who couldn't walk the stairs.

1 star because of this unnecessarily rude bartender. I wish I got her name, but she has really bad acne scars and wears foundation that doesn’t match her neck, if that helps identify. A small misunderstanding about the order in which everyone was being served turned into her speaking to me in a nasty, condescending tone. I saw her roll her eyes and be rude to other customers so obviously she’s simply unprofessional. Someone asked for a rum punch and she said “I don’t know what that is.” I left and moved to another bartender because who wants to be served by a bartender with an attitude who doesn’t even know what rum punch is? Who would spend money with someone like that? Bad vibes in my drink? No. THANK YOU, GENNA for taking good care of me. That other bartender can count her days. So freaking rude.

My wife and I and our son and daughter paid for the VIP package New Years Event. The cost was $250 per couple. Guaranteed seating, early entry, bottle of champagne for each couple. It was communicated that there would be patio heaters and fire pits to keep attendees warm. When we arrived hotel lobby was packed. Event was to start at 9 but Sky Blu was not ready. Stood in a very crowed hotel lobby for over 30 minutes before starting taking attendees up in elevator. There were two lines VIP and general admissions. Elevators were very slow since hotel guests were using as well. By the time we got to the elevators, the general admission attendee line was empty and all were already up at the lounge. So much for VIP package getting you early entry and preferred seating. When we finally got to the roof top, we were seated at bar stool chairs, no table and no patio heater. We noticed “general admission” attendees sitting in comfortable lounge chairs with tables, fire pits and patio heaters. We were sitting in the open, no table, no patio heater. We noticed several couples being served their champagne. We were never served. We found a server and asked about our champagne. She said we would have to speak to one of the event hosts. We did and they brought out our champagne bottles in a large ice bucket. With Dixie cups. No kidding, Dixie cups. Apparently by this time they had ran out of champagne glasses. Now the kicker was we had NO table for this big bucket and champagne bottles. We put the champagne on the edge of a nearby table. At this time a lady informed us the table was reserved for someone else. She said she worked for the hotel, not for the event organizers and the hotel was receiving complaints that VIP guests were not getting the seating promised so she was trying to step in and help because didn’t want it to reflect on the hotel. We told her our situation and said we had no table and no place to put our drinks or champagne despite paying for the VIP package. The lady sympathized and said we could stay at the table until the guests the table was reserved for arrived. We poured some champagne into our Dixie cups, made a toast, then gave our champagne to a table next to us and left. It was 10:45. This was the most disappointing “going out” experience I have ever had and absolutely fraudulent to charge $250 per couple and then not be able to deliver. Hilton should be embarrassed to have their name associated with a sham like this.

This rooftop bar really is the icing the the cake with this hotel. Not only are the bartenders super nice, they're also willing to help find or make what ever you may desire to help relax or celebrate what ever the occasion. With a beautiful modern bar room, it's main attraction in my opinion would be the large spacious rooftop patio. With 3 fire pits and plenty of seating to enjoy the downtown Dallas city skyline, it's such a nice place to unwind.

Cool concept. Only one angle of the roof has a view of the city.
