What a remarkable experience to share in the 10 that made a difference here in our community of Santa Fe, NM. Thank you for hosting such a memorable event Sky Cinemas and supporting community.

Google
Outstanding food and service! The picture and sound quality of the movies are AWESOME!!! Definitely recommended this theater!!! Look forward to seeing another movie here again. Enjoy!!!

Google
Comfortable seats with plenty of legroom. A steep angle to the seating means everyone should have an uninterrupted view of the screen. Well marked, easy to find your seat. Cinema seemed nice and clean.

Google
Excellent local theater that offers lots of variety in film and very comfortable seating. I was here for the film festival, and the staff and volunteers made the experience smooth and easy. I will most definitely be back.

Google
Excellent movie experience! The workers used amazing team work even when short staffed they backed one another up. We bought food in the restaurant and then soft drinks and popcorn for the movie. The theater had an industrial vibe. The tacos were delicious in spite of their small portions and the quesadilla was more substantial and equally as tasty. The movie attendants explained how to verify parking and which area was free politely and respectfully. The actual theater experience was very nice with cozy, comfortable seating options. Clean well stocked bathrooms We really enjoyed the experience!

Google
This is a great theater in a great location in the middle of the Santa Fe rail yard. Walking distance to museums, shops fabulous art galleries and restaurants. The New Mexico rail runner stop is less then a five minute walk to this theater so there is easy access from Albuquerque. This theater carries indie movies, international and main stream movies. The theaters are located below a rail yard themed snack stand, restaurant and bar. Great options for eating or drinking before during or after you watch a movie. This theater is one of the only theaters that I have seen provide fruit infused water at no charge. Soda at this theater is also self serve. The theater rooms are warm and inviting ad there are stairs down to the theater rooms. For those who require access assistance there is an elevator. Overall great theater in great location.

Google
Wonderful experience with Sky Cinemas, you are able to purchase tickets online, time of movies can accommodate most people. The theater is clean and very comfortable.

Google
Went to see The Grateful Dead movie with my mom and sister. Sat it the front row as the chairs had ottomans! Super cozy and the entire staff was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great movie experience in Santa Fe, this theater is a must-visit. It's located right in the heart of the Railyard, with a large parking garage nearby if street parking is full. You can buy tickets online or at the easy-to-use self-service kiosks. There's a bar where you can grab a beer and some surprisingly tasty food. The theater has both upstairs and downstairs screening rooms, plus a lounge area where you can relax and enjoy your food before the show. It's a beautiful space, with plenty of legroom and comfortable seating--perfect for dining while you watch. I had a great time here and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
What a theater! Visiting SF (or live here) and want a fun night? Family outing? Date night? An enjoyable night to yourself? You can stop by for a drink, food, a movie or all three. The food is not to be missed here. I was so surprised by how good it was! Had the pizza and it was delicious, especially loved the sausage and green chili. Seriously, people come here just to eat. Check out the menu and drink list. And you can take anything into the theater with you. There's a huge bar with lots of craft beer and also your regular sodas and yummy popcorn and candy. The seats are comfortable in the theaters (super wide) and there's plenty of seating for eating and the bar too downstairs. The manager, Gabe, is so kind and welcoming and knowledgeable. The staff truly love movies. The theater hosts events regularly and shows indie films and blockbusters. The sound and the screen for the movie were top notch. You'll love this local business in one of the best parts of SF, the Railyard district.

Yelp
If your in the area of the Plaza in Santa Fe, stop by this place and see a movie. That have plenty of good eats (pizza, pretzels, candy, ect...and alcoholic & soft drinks, nice area to relax before the movie starts. The theater had plenty of good seats. Plenty of space, no feeling crowded, unless of course it's packed. Quality of the movie was good, sound was good, it was clean, bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly & helpful. They do have areas for wheelchair and elevator available.

Yelp
I had a great time at Violet Crown this weekend! Elf is such a fun movie, and the pizza and popcorn was super tasty. It was fun meeting fellow YES members and seeing a film together in a really nice venue. Thanks to Destiny and Violet Crown for putting together a delightful event!
google avatar

Yelp
I was originally introduced to this place thanks to a yelp elite event and decided to make a purchase here on my own. I just had to post about the food experience I had. The Brussels sprouts at violet crown cinema were absolutely to die for! They were crispy on the outside and slightly crunchy on the inside while bursting full of amazing flavor and dressings. I honestly give it a 10/10, it couldn't have came out better. I also want to mention they had a drink called the red delicious, all puns aside, it was incredibly delicious indeed! Haha The staff was super friendly and I had a great time. I can't wait to go back for more!

Yelp
The Santa Fe railyards has a reliable and enjoyable theater with Violet crown Cinema. Staff was very helpful, good variety of movies and an enjoyable menu for many different pallets.

Yelp
I was hungry before a movie so I order a frito pie and elote ! Both a delicious the Frito pie was perfect for two people. I love the back area to longe and chill. The vibe is so cool here. They offer so much to drink from beer to wine and normal fountain drinks. The popcorn was delicious and the theater itself was very comfortable.

Yelp
This place has comeback. After the closures it seemed to struggle in finding it's footing. Like many of us. The last handful of experiences I've had here have been exceptional, mostly due to the level of service I received. I must mention one staff member particularly, Gabe. He takes care of customers like they're honored guests. In small things and big he owns our concerns like they're his. What he provides is not customer service. It's human service, community service, service to the soul. I watched him carefully take care of guest after guest as I waited for a cup of coffee to brew. And, I took note that & how other staff members followed his lead. Violet Crown, I hope you take note too. This guy is a blessing to your business. May you always grow in the direction of greatness, Gabe. I trust The Cosmos will reward you beyond your imagination. Thank you for your care. And if you haven't seen "A Complete Unknown" yet, it's more than worth your time. If there's any part of yourself you've lost or forgotten, it may be returned to you in the experiencing of this film.

Yelp
Good service, and really good food. The venue seemed to play a range of movies, and the theater was sizable and comfortable. I enjoyed stopping through!

Yelp
This is a higher end movie theater located in the rail yard district. They offer 4 hour parking validation in the garage across the street, which is nice. There is a concession stand with your typical popcorn and candy items as well as another counter you can order hot food, beer and wine. I loved how ample the seating was throughout the building and patio seating as well. For food, I had the Ava dog which can be customized so make sure you mention which toppings you want, otherwise it'll come out plain. I assumed everything would be included like on the Chicago dog but was mistaken. It comes with fries and is an extra $2 for the "crown" version which has truffle oil and Parmesan. These were really tasty. The pretzel was a lot larger than expected and nice and soft. I liked the queso and mustard it came with. Matinee tickets are $10 each and evening shows are $15 with a $1 service fee if you purchase online. This is a nice option since you can pick your seat ahead of time. The seats do not recline but they are a comfy faux leather style. However, some of the chairs are super squeaky which was a little distracting if you happen to be by someone who fidgets a lot.

Anthony H.

Yelp
Theres a worker named Tyler that works at the ticket checker booth, such an amazing dude and made the fantastic four experience amazing. Glad I started the new marvel phase with this worker !
google avatar

Leumas E.

Yelp
94 degrees outside, drove two and a half hours to sit in a cold theater and the air conditioning was broken. Over 90 degrees in the theater and sweated while sitting still in a t shirt and shorts. FOR $18 A TICKET!! Absolutely awful. If your air conditioning is broken when it's that hot outside then you should cancel the movie and refund money. Temps inside were unsafe. This place must be run by greedy fools.

Mathilde S.

Yelp
Love this theater- they show great selection of movies. It is easy to book and pick your comfortable seat. They have really great food and drinks selection to eat in their main room or in the theater. And the service staff is friendly and fun- especially Jen- she knows her beers!

Ruthie K.

Yelp
I left my very expensive Chanel sunglasses on the counter and Gabe found them. He is a very honest and dedicated employee. I am extremely grateful for his honesty.

Marianne N.

Yelp
The best place for cinema in Santa Fe. Wonderful concessions with good food, beer and ciders. A guy at the register suggested the chicken tenders, and I tried them. They come with a great dippng sauce, and they were delicious! I might add that it is not easy finding good fried chicken in Santa Fe. And my husband loves their frito pie. It's nice going to the movies with just one stop for dinner and a show.

Patrick I.

Yelp
Absolutely the best movie theater in town. Craft beer, great food, friendly staff. It's hard to go anywhere else anymore. Love this place.

Juan M.

Yelp
I really like this theater. Great seats, validation for parking, and it even has a bar! What more can you ask for in a theater? I've even seen people bring their dogs to the movies (it's Santa Fe, after all) and they don't seem to mind. (And personally, I like animals more than most people, so it's fine with me.)
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
If you want to get treated poorly when you order a pizza and two ciders with your girlfriend. Come to Violet Crown Cinema. My bestie and I were running late for the movie, finally found their parking lot and approached the counter laughing as we ran in. Upon ordering the young man said, " I don't feel comfortable serving you alcohol. My girl and I were astonished and thought the young man was kidding. He wasn't. He didnt give me a reason, when I asked the manager, she said I can't do anything if "the young man doesn't feel comfortable serving you!? than why is she the manager. I have NEVER being treated in such a manner and will be emailing their corporation tonight! The reason we came was to enjoy a scary movie, pizza and a cider with my girl. what a disappointment! Maybe because I am mexican and my girl is native American! but wait the guy was also mexican american. won't be going back, I was treated so poorly! good night.

Yelp
Great service, great prices, good size for concessions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Seats were comfy and loved the ability to drink in the theatre. Wish there was more of these around.

Yelp
Please absolutely go elsewhere, me and my friend were out enjoying an evening, while watching the movie my friends watch went off and the woman behind us thought it was okay to kick, yes kick my friend and her seat. I immediately told management and nothing was done. When we were leaving same woman said something to us, as an American with free speech I said something right back, but guess who side the manager took? She cried wolf and everyone came to her rescue when she was the one that kicked and verbally assaulted us. Management quickly went to her rescue and offered a refund while we were told to leave. Like I said please go elsewhere where you business and bodily safety will be taken seriously.

Melissa B.

Yelp
First time ever going here. Trevor, one of the ushers, was so helpful and patient when I lost my phone. It fell out of my pocket during the movie.

Isaac L.

Yelp
Me and the family had a wonderful time here the service was immaculate and when we got food it tasted like I was at nobu, when I thought things couldn't get better we got in and sat down it was like we were floating on cloud definitely a 5/5 night.

J D.

Yelp
Sadly, tonight we had very bad service and they were out of many items for dinner. The cashier was very rude as was the woman we picked up the food from. Sorry to see the service be so bad as that hasn't been a problem in the past. And never having been out of at least three main dinner choices.
google avatar

Isabelle M.

Yelp
This is a really neat theater! Located in the rail yard arts district. Tickets are decently priced and they were showing all the new movies. They also serve food. The theater itself is also nice. The chairs are really big and comfortable. You choose your seats upon buying your tickets either online or in person. (We opted to buying in person to avoid the online fee). Also, if you park in the rail yard parking garage they will validate your garage ticket so you don't have to pay for parking.

Bryan B.

Yelp
Sadly, this place has gone downhill to the bottom. It used to be well managed and staffed, but now on a Friday night with a big headliner at the music festival outside the place had about 4 staff. The staff were overworked and totally uninterested in service. Two of the 4 cash registers were operational. The staff were moving like sloths. The place is filthy with food on the floor. Sad to see such a great location and unique venue go to hell.
google avatar

Slade N.

Yelp
The lobby was so loud that I was constantly distracted from my movie. It didn't help that the doors needed repair and would bang! When anyone came and left! So frustrating! This might not be a problem on an off day but I'm going to avoid weekends from now on. The parking garage is another issue! It takes for! Ever! To leave that thing since they took a live person away from the gate. Evidently no one read that you pay at the kiosk before you get to your car! Such a dumb system Santa Fe.

Steven S.

Yelp
The staff was great. Good beer and even better food. Highly recommend. The sound was perfect it wasn't to loud, blowing out your ear drums like at other theaters I've been too.
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
Poor customer service and substandard equipment. Went to see a movie while visiting. Only one showing for the day. Movie wouldn't play. Waited 35 minutes for them to try to fix it. Then still wouldn't play. It was their fault but they refused to give a full refund that included the processing fee. The least they could have done is offer a coupon for a free popcorn or something. It was their fault that we could not watch the movie. But they still did not care. Their policy is not very customer oriented when you're out money for something that was their fault.

Jdot S.

Yelp
I don't understand movie theaters that make you pay for parking or don't have an option for validation. Otherwise, a regular/decent theater option.
google avatar

Talitha T.

Yelp
My husband and an I had a great time! The outdoor seating area was really nice and the the indoor seating was very cozy. Food was very delicious and the movie theater was very comfortable. Will defiantly go back soon.
google avatar

Michael X.

Yelp
This is a very nice theatre, probably the nicest in all of Santa Fe - very comfortable seating, friendly staff, clean, and when I tasted the food the first time I was here it was quite good. Definitely will be back!!

Raul D.

Yelp
They messed up. The wrong movie was playing in the theater. We asked to talk to a manager and we were returned with strange looks and defensive attitudes. Mistakes happen and we weren't mad about the accident but the employees weren't kind or helpful. We did get a comp, but I'm not really wanting to go back. Poor customer service.
google avatar

Guy C.

Yelp
The sound quality in this theatre is terrible. The dialogue is always muffled and impossible to hear regardless of which part of this theater you are in (and my hearing is perfect). You would think someone would have addressed this problem by now! It's been this way for too long!
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
This place is incredible! The food is to die for! My husband had the frito pie and raved about it. He is a huge chile critic and loved the red chile. It was a true New Mexican frito pie. For me, it's really hard to eat out because of my dietary needs and the manager said they have a ton of options and had the kitchen whip up a delicious plain chicken breast with salt and pepper with mustard on the side for me. It was delicious! They also had different complimentary infused waters. One was cucumber and the other was lime and orange. Yum! My husband also opted for popcorn and a gourmet pickle. The prices were fantastic too! The only two slight issues were parking and seating. Parking is a bit of a bear, especially for those with handicap needs due to the urban setting. Also, the online system for picking seats ha some issues. It doesn't show the stairs like it indicates, which can cause some issues. Also, the seats that show as wheelchair are also full seats, which weren't indicated online. We ended up having to walk down the stairs to our seats with my walker, which was quite painful, because the handicapped seats were taken by able bodied people by the time we figured this out.

Noah H.

Yelp
Use to love this place, but there is these new guys who are completely awful they make my group of 6 feel so uncomfortable every time and there extremely rude and close the kitchen on us last night at 8:30! We have been coming here for 4 years now and that has never happened, also it's super dirty no one ever cleans anymore like they use to and sadly I think it's time for us to look for a different movie theater from now on
google avatar

Vanessa M.

Yelp
Well it's been a few years since my last review. They made changes to the bathrooms and no more dryers disturbing your movie. This place is so clean and well maintained. GREAT food and drinks and courteous staff. This has an inviting atmosphere and is a great place to grab a bite, have a drink and watch a movie with friends. They even have cauliflower crust options for their pizzas! The seats are comfortable, sound quality is on point. Great movie experience! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Kerry K.

Yelp
I loved this movie theater in Santa Fe! It seems brand new, the tickets were cheap (being from LA, $12.50/ticket is a STEAL!) and their bar/restaurant area is super cute. I wish we had one of these in LA...

Veronica K.

Yelp
After reading previous comments, I has hesitant to go. Very happy I decided to go see a movie and grab a few drinks. The service was quick, bathrooms were clean, seats were cozy and spacious, and the atmosphere in the lobby to enjoy a drink was fabulous. Also a great area outside to walk around and shop/eat.

Andrea B.

Yelp
I love, love, love Violet Crown. Your food, the atmosphere, the location and your service are top notch. HOWEVER, tonight I purchased a ticket to watch the Oscars live, and because it was streaming live from HULU, a message came up saying it sensed no one was watching and HULU would be shut down in 30 (I think it was 30) seconds. And guess what? Right before the best actor was named...SHUT DOWN! By the time someone logged back into HULU, the actor was already giving his speech. Huge disappointment. I highly suggest you let customers know "no shirt, no shoes, no service", because apparently the guy sitting next to me thought he was in his living room and took off his shoes.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
We needed something to do and an escape from the heat while in Santa Fe, so we hit up a movie here at the VC. Very nice, well kept theaters with comfy seats. You can get food and (alcoholic and otherwise) drinks here, but not served at your seat. We liked it. I would go here regularly if in the area. I believe they validate parking (as Railyard parking lots are paid lots).
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
We were in Santa Fe for a week, looking for something different to do while we were here other than the typical tourist venues. Found this really cool in the theater, and really enjoyed it. Grabbed a local ale & I was able to bring it in to the theater with a great drink holder at my seat. Technology was great - screen and sound. Glad we found this place!
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
This place is adorable and I love how cute it is inside it also has alcohol and food and it's very artsy this is a super great idea and I would come back.
google avatar

Nailah H.

Yelp
It's a cool theater. I went to see Spider-Man into the spiderverse here and I really enjoyed everything about this theater EXCEPT the food. To me the food could be better.
google avatar

Vaughn F.

Yelp
I like movies, I like beer. Violet Crown has both of these, and, if you sit in the front row of the theater, there are even ottomans to rest your feet on. This solution to the perennial problem of cinema relaxation provides comfort as I sip my pint of Marble (or Bosque, or Santa Fe, or whichever). Let's talk about the beer more. There are lots of taps, with rotations that see plenty of IPAs, stouts, porters, wheats, goses, ciders, and other sours taking turns. Of course, I love Marble's Double White; it's like a smoother, tastier, all-around better Blue Moon. The local craft micropolitan will also be hard-pressed to find fault with the offerings from nearby breweries. Farm to table, yo. So after ingesting a couple pre-beer pints, get one to take in with you, as Violet Crown not only permits doing so, but also offers a food menu, including service in the theater. Oh my God, yes please. The seats are comfortable, too. If you don't go to the movies often, this place is worth spending a little extra money at in order to enjoy the experience to the fullest. This is more than just catching a flick; it's an elevated art form.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
Santa Fé is fortunate to have five movie theaters in town that offer an array of first-run, independent, foreign and art films. On any given day you can choose between two dozen movies around town. My favorite theater, though, is hands-down the Violet Crown Cinema. With ten screens they offer a great selection of popular films. Their seating is super comfortable; you can reserve the seat location you desire; and every seat has an excellent view of the screen. The food and beverage options here are outstanding - everything from sodas, sandwiches, and desserts, to craft beers, wine, and of course, popcorn. Ticket prices are reasonable and include matinee and senior discounts. Safe and covered validated parking add to making this the best place in town to enjoy a movie.
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
This is one of the best theatres in Santa Fe! We love the size of the theatre and the seats are always nice and comfy no matter which ones we choose. I love that we can dine in and have cocktails! Even better - its self serve so you don't have wait staff walking in front of you and asking for bill in mid scene! Great location!

mr r.

Yelp
Bartenders and manager offered abysmal customer service as a beer wasn't up to par. Offered no replacement or refund. Skip the bar go somewhere else.

Mark L.

Yelp
We have enjoyed the comfort, film selection and variety of food, snacks and beverages on offer. Having parking validation is bonus (if you foam get into the garage)

Yelp
Walked here from La Fonda on the Plaza to catch the 8:35 showing of Zootopia. It has been open since April 2015 and still feels fresh. Concrete floors and metal fixtures complement the railyard theme of this theater. There were approximately 40 people milling or sitting at the bar in the ample lobby. Full sandwich offerings, salads, fruit bowl, and self-service soda fountain as well as popcorn, candies, etc..make for a decent late night snack or even dinner! Interesting mix of locals, tourists, hipsters, and some cranks from that appear to have come froma nearby residential area. This 70+ old lady dressed in an outlandishly colorful dress cut in line at the snack bar arguing the merits of waiting to see the next showing of Zootopia or going in to watch the one in progress.
