Where To Drink Wine In Woodinville - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Sky River somehow makes mead approachable instead of a beverage you thought Medieval nobles swilled between bites of mutton. For starters, flights are only around $10, a far departure from the ritzier tasting rooms in town. Their honey wine is light, not overly sweet, and comes in flavors like blackberry and cherry vanilla that thankfully don’t taste like pie. The meadery has a few sofas and a little gift shop, but our favorite place to drink is out on the front slope, where you can sit on Adirondack chairs and take in the rolling views of Woodinville's countryside, as well as the steep driveway your group trudged up earlier." - aimee rizzo

The cheapest flight here is only $5, which you could easily find on the street or in someone’s pocket." - Aimee Rizzo

Wanted to check how honey wines taste and that’s how we ended up here. Recommendation is to sit outside and enjoy the wine and the beautiful views!!! I am not sure if they have any other parking but the one outside the building can accommodate only 6-7 cars.

Google
Beautiful scenery, tasty mead! We loved how cozy the inside is and how gorgeous the outdoor space is. Our pup felt right at home. The pepper, lavender, and honey ginger meads were delicious

Google
Yep, thee best.. Started with two sisters in Startup, WA. and have exquisite meads ... yes, plural. Half a dozen 'flavors' and seasonal ones too. Adorable facility with monthly artistic activities. Table and chair to relax (inside or outside) or eclectic items to peruse with live music on Sunday afternoon.

TL Nikolaou

Google
The absolute best flight in the area. Mead and honey wine were unexpectedly good and we bought a bottle. The bartender pouring the flights was incredibly personable and helpful when selecting the flights. This mead has also won awards and tastes like it too. 10$ flight

Google
Cozy little tasting room with friendly staff and delicious meads. There are couches and tables to hang out while you sample the mead and honey wine. The beverages are quite good (be prepared for sweetness) and you just can't beat the price for the quality. They're mostly sweet with light undertones of different flavors to give them all a unique taste profile and feel on your pallet. None of them have the harshness or bitterness of some low-quality meads and the sweetness is balanced within the flavor and doesn't overpower.

Ellen Ahlness

Google
Wonderful mead (the wine is great too, but the mead is really where it is at). Glenda was very kind and offered great advice and mead descriptions. She was especially generous in pours and welcoming visitors to WA! A combo of lovely personalities and delicious mead makes this a necessary stop for anyone touring Woodenville!

Kiara Boggs

Google
Been coming here for years, the mead is downright delicious. They know what they are doing with mead, and their hangout spaces are the best in town on a clear day. Get the flight, bring some lunch, and just enjoy life here

Google
Have never had mead and was pleasantly surprised. Very tasty. The winery is in a beautiful setting and the server fantastic. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend

Yelp
Sky River Mead was on my list and I recently purchased their Ginger Honey Wine which we were quite impressed with. We really enjoyed the presence of ginger to this mead and yet it wasn't overpowering in any way. But I do love ginger so if it was overpowering I would have been totally cool with that. Of course there is the flavor presence of sweetness which is where the honey comes in. A nice light bodied mead in which you can kick back and enjoy with. It's a great one to share a bottle of.

Yelp
Tastings for $10! They have a bunch of unique flavors as well as staples / crowd favorites. The most memorable ones were their award winners (for a reason) and the pepper one. The staff were knowledgeable and the outside grass sitting area is the best seat in the woodinville area!

Yelp
Went on a sunny Saturday and sat outside after choosing our flight options. There are so many options to consider. I like sweet mead without a lot of extra flavors. We chose Sweet Mead, Sweet Brochet Mead, Solas Honey Wine, Ginger Honey Wine, Cherry Vanilla Honey Wine, and Chamomile. There are nice umbrellas outside with a nice view of the farms below. It's far enough away from the street that you don't feel bombarded by noise. **Sweet Mead: fabulous taste- loved the amount of sweetness and not dry without a bad after taste **Solas Honey: fabulous taste- no bad after taste and would be tasty with dessert **Cherry Vanilla: has a complex taste- maybe too much going on and give a flavor of cough syrup to me **Ginger Honey: great aroma and subtle ginger flavor; not my favorite but not bad; if you enjoy ginger flavor this one would be perfect **Chamomile: aroma like chamomile tea and also tastes like sweet chamomile tea; I don't usually love additional flavors but this one was nice without being overpowering **Sweet Brochet: smells amazing; taste is too sweet with the carmelized honey for my tastes but everyone has different likes; a bit of acidity going down We purchased Solas Honey and Sweet Honey to enjoy another day. If you've never tried mead give this place a try- they have lots of options to try!!

Yelp
My husband and I were going around to different locations taking advantage of tastings with our tasting pass. We decided to give Sky River Mead a try! With the tasting pass, you get 3 tastings, we both opted to pay an upcharge to get the tasting of 5. There was several different meads to choose from- the server did a great job explaining the tasting profiles of them all. We were able to pick the 5 we wanted to try. Neither of us had tried mead before, and I will say it is a unique taste and very sweet. My favorite was the blackberry. They had a cute little shop with lots of goodies for sale along with different sitting areas. There were some card games too which were fun to play while we sipped! The outdoor space looked super cute and had great views- unfortunately we went on a pretty cold day so we didn't venture out.

Yelp
Pretty view but several outside chairs that had no tables. Why no tables?? The shop has an adorable dog and they sell a lot of beautiful things. The flight I had was not to my taste. I am sure it is good but what i chose i did not enjoy.

Yelp
Man, I have been wanting to try mead forever! I always drove by this meadery on the way home after a day of wine tasting; yet finally, we visited Sky River Mead on a Saturday and it was a great way to end the day. We called to ask if we needed reservations, which you don't. Therefore, we made sure to visit Sky River Mead last on our way out, as it's located right off of the Woodinville-Redmond road. Plus, it's up on a hill, so you can look out to large fields and Woodinville and watch the sunset with a glass of mead. It's definitely a scenic spot in Woodinville. We tried three different meads, that we got to choose from, which was part of our Woodinville Wine Passport offering. I chose the lavender, rose and dry meads. This was my first time having mead, and I have to say, it was different, but in a good way. Yes, it's sweet from the honey, so would say this is more of a dessert. Of all the meads, I liked the lavender the best. I love anything lavender, so was happy to learn they had a mead of that here. It was abundant in flavor. The rose was also nice, as it was fragrant. And the dry mead wasn't as sweet as the others, which I quite enjoyed. I encourage anyone who's never had mead to check out Sky River Mead, for it has a long menu of different flavors to try. We sat out on the lawn, which looked out to Woodinville. This is one of the better tasting rooms in Woodinville, as the hill location cannot be beat, especially when you want to find a place to just relax in a lawn chair and drink. Plus, it's dog-friendly and they even offer treats for your fur babies! Love that. I'll definitely be back for the wonderful meads and welcoming setting.

Yelp
Easily one of the best Woodinville spots on your next visit! The mead here is delicious and they have such a variety, there is something for everyone. When we went there were 12 tastings to pick from. A flight consists of 5 tastings (passport is 3 tastings). Very relaxing atmosphere with seating inside and outside. Probably the most relaxing area to hang out at in Woodinville. Niki was great! Really enjoyed her during our visit!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this cute little mead-winery. Amazing mead and even amazing views of the rolling hills. Of the 5 we tasted, we loved Solas the best and we made sure to get a bottle! The host explained how meads are made it was interesting to know the wine is made from just honey, yeast and water! No grapes! Makes for a great dessert wine. She said we could even make cocktails with it. A must try mead-winery (meadery?) if you like dessert wines.

Yelp
This was our first time trying mead. They have lots of outdoor seating and distance between tables. Beautiful view. The mead was really nice! Novel and tasty alternative to wine.
google avatar

Conner J.

Yelp
While I am not a fan of mead in general, I think those that do would really enjoy sky river mead. The best part had to be the atmosphere, which one of the best views in Woodinville and a tone of great yard games that would make this a great spot to hang out with friends. The staff is really friendly and they have plenty of space outside that are well spaced out. The mead was a bit too sweet for me but since I haven't had much to compared it too, I imagine that is jus those mead is so take that with a grain of salt.
google avatar

Miyuki A.

Yelp
Highly recommend to get a flight. There are so many to choose from but, I am sure you will find your favorite :)
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
A beautiful view of Woodinville from here! The grounds are very spacious to do tastings. You go inside, select the mead(s) you'd like to taste, and then pick a place to sit. Outside there are plenty of chairs and fire pits with logs scattered about so you can feed the fires yourself if they get low. Of the 6 meads samples, I'd recommend the hoppy mead. As a first time mead drinker, mead was very sweet for me and this one was more palatable for someone who is used to drier beverages!
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Clean. Crisp. Smooth. Light. Flavorful. Complex flavor notes that don't waver all over the place. No aftertaste. and so so good! I've never had a mead before and didn't know what to expect, but I am now a fan! I came in for a tasting after a recommendation from a friend, and left with a few bottles (though I was definitely tempted to get more). Each of the meads I tried were unique and could go well for sipping, with meals or even with dessert. The sweet and the carmelized sweet wine was "dessert wine" sweet enough for me, though I hear there is a sweeter one about 2-3x, but didn't end up trying it since I drank the others too fast (too good!). Sadly this place is only open Fridays to Sundays but the space is nice, staff are friendly and helpful with their recommendations, and though there are a ton of good wineries in the area, if you enjoy sweet and/or fruit wines or looking for a gift for someone who does, this is definitely a stop to come through!

Yelp
My husband and I love meads, and Sky River is definitely the mead destination in the Bigger Seattle area. Sky River has been making mead for a long time now, and we've been drinking their meads about for 8 years. Throughout these years, they constantly added new flavors to their line up, from old world style mead, to more modern interpretations of mead, such as Hop mead. In my opinion, most of them taste great. Of course the raspberry mead is a must. Sky river really knows meads, we've bought other Washington meads in Whole Foods at similar price point, and we were surprised how bad those meads were! We visit their tasting room about once a year. I like that they have three tasting options, starting from 5 dollars for 4 taste. I think this is thoughtful and customer friendly, because not everyone can handle 6 or more pours in each winery.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Had THE BEST experience at sky River Mead! The tasting room associate was epic and they have such a great variety of honey wines. Definitely will be back! You also can't beat the view!
google avatar

Sarah N.

Yelp
Our first time tasting mead! I was surprised at how light and delicious they were (I don't know what I was expecting lol). The tasting room is a really cute shop with games, local art for sale, and a piano. Outdoor seating area was romantic with lighting and tents and a beautiful view. Took home the lavender mead. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Went here with the Passport to Woodinville and left after purchasing a bottle of mead! The atmosphere was very cosy, and it was delicious mead!

Yelp
This is such a great find! Not sure how we didn't know about it before. Came in for a tasting, left with 7 bottles! Fantastic taste, really cozy location, and very reasonably priced. A must visit

Yelp
I absolutely love this winery and would return at any time. When we arrived we walked in and immediately were greeted and noticed how full and popular it was in there. I loved all the wine we tasted however my fiancé is not super big on sweet wines so she didn't drink too much of the wine. We both did love the atmosphere of the winery. It was an old house converted into a winery it looked like so there were many areas to sit and relax and we loved that there were all different kinds of hand made items all around for sale. I would recommend this place is you like sweet wines and honey.
google avatar

Candi K.

Yelp
I don't think I ever had mead before but now that I've tried it, I like it but it wouldn't be the first thing I would pick but I wouldn't turn down a glass of mead either. Mead is made with honey and wow, it can be quite sweet. They have lots of different type of flavors of mead including blackberry, ginger, vanilla... all subtle enough but still a bit sweet. There was a dog that welcomed guest and another place that is dog friendly! I would possibly stop by this place at the very end of wine tasting trip and the place is very spacious and a nice place to chill.
google avatar

Hailey K.

Yelp
They had a great selection of award winning meads to taste. The staff was very helpful. There was a variety of seating options as well as board games available. This was a great place to come with friends.

Yelp
Local Meadery on Hwy 2 on the way to Stevens Pass offer 3 levels of Dry-ness and even a raspberry honey wine. Good selection of merchandise including wine glasses, stone logo coasters and mead filled chocolates. We discovered this vintage of mead (honey based wine like beverage) on sale in our local Fred Meyer only to have it gone the next visit. Since I had business in the Woodinville area it wasn't that long a trek down Hwy 2 just past Monroe to this small industrial building offering tastings but no food (hey yelp you need a better category for retail only wineries!). They offer a 15% discount on a case & a free wine glass. Very friendly staff, very pretty drive. We'll make this a yearly visit for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
I had never tried mead before and couldn't resist referencing the Bud Light commercial during my visit. There was a huge doodle walking around that was incredibly cute and sweet! The girl pouring the wine was very nice and friendly! The wine itself was pretty good as well! I really enjoyed the homey feeling of this stop and even on a rainy day the view was pretty incredible! I would definitely recommend others to try this for something different!

Yelp
We got a groupon here and I was pretty excited to go because I've never been wine tasting, let alone mead tasting! My boyfriend makes his own mead so he was quite interested. A full flight taste consisted of 8 different meads for normally $10. Half flight includes 4 of their more standard meads like dry, semi-sweet, sweet, and rose. The second half included ginger, raspberry, blackberry, and solas. By far, my favorite was the rose! I feel like all of them were on the sweet side, but the rose had such a nice flavor. The lady who was helping us was actually one of the brewers. She said the petals were infused in the wine for a few weeks. My second favorite was the solas. She described the wine as something that King Author would drink. Overall it was a really great first wine tasting. We ended up buying a bottle of the rose and raspberry mead. :)

Yelp
With family visiting for the weekend, we decided to just up an go wine-tasting. Since we are not very experienced, we ended up driving away from a few wineries due to them not having any available reservations. I'd driven by Sky River Mead many times and the words, "honey wine" stuck out to me as I love a sweet wine and I kept telling my husband I wanted to go there. Well, we decided to see if, just by chance, Sky River had room for the 4 of us. They did! The owner, Glenda, was very kind and set us up with a tasting. I got to choose from 5 wines for $10. All were good but the Hopped Mead stood out and I bought a bottle. Very reasonably priced at $21. There are a few tables inside and many others on a patio. It's up on a hill with a wonderful view. The vibe is very nice and the owner is kind and accommodating. There are various types of gift items and jewelry for purchase. Overall a great experience and end to our day.

Sara A.

Yelp
A definite must, if you are in the Woodinville area tasting wines. While mead is technically not a wine, you will still enjoy the buzz that comes from sampling the fermented, boozy honey. Yes, they are sweet (I mean, obviously!) but if you pace your tasting, it is a really enjoyable afternoon. They offer a wide range of tasting options, but I would recommend the $15 option, which gives you a 1oz pour of EVERY ONE! There's quite a bit of variety, from both the level of sweetness to the various additions, such as blackberry, ginger, raspberry, cherry almond, etc. Plus, if you purchase a bottle, they will waive the tasting fee (and the bottles are around $17-$20+, so very reasonable!) My favorite thing about Sky River is the atmosphere. They have a large couch or two surrounding a fireplace, and are more than happy to let you hang out for a few hours. If those spots are taken, there's a long dining room table and a huge stack of board games. My family and I basically recreated our own dining room, playing Yahtzee and sampling the meads for a good 2+ hours. There are also 2 and 4 top tables on the other side of the venue, plus a restroom, and a bonus Labradoodle to pet! Feel like shopping while tasting? They have a bunch of cute kitchen items, as well as cookbooks, wine books, jewelry and other gifts. If the weather is nice, they also have a little deck where you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view from atop the hill where Sky River is perched. Mead is not very common, so I highly recommend coming here to see what it is all about. Plan for a lazy afternoon, because with so many options to try, it is definitely more fun if you take your time!

Yelp
This was probably my absolute favorite tasting room we visited the day of our wine trip. The tasting room is located right off the road up a hill. The tasting room was very spacious with comfortable couches and games to entertain. I loved that the place was dog friendly. There were even 2 dogs there the day of our tasting. The tasting itself costs $15 (which they let my friend and I split) and allows you to sample about 8-10 meads. The woman who served us was very friendly and attentive. If you buy a bottle, the fee gets comped. Their bottles are extremely reasonably priced and start at $17. I've tried mead from a few places now and this place definitely makes some really good mead. Meads tend to be on the sweeter side, but a better kind of sweet than a sweet wine (e.g., Moscato or Riesling) because they are made with honey. I enjoyed a lot of the meads at Sky River, but would say my favorite was definitely the blackberry mead. It was the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. We bought a bottle of the blackberry at the end of our tasting and enjoyed it in their sitting room. I would highly recommend coming here for a tasting, especially at the end of the day.

Yelp
Really weird that their website doesn't show WHERE you can buy their product. I have called and left a message three times over a few week period and never heard back. Fabulous product though.....

Yelp
Just visited this lovely tasting room after having driven by it many times. The wines are sweet and different from the typical ones you'd enjoy at a tasting. My favorites were the Sweet mead and the Rose Blossom mead. All of the meads they offer would make great dessert/sipping drinks. If you enjoy sweet wines and are up for a new tasting experience, give it a try. I will definitely return!
google avatar

Yelp
Got a chance to meet the Mead (Honey Wine) brewers, who are also the Owners. For something unique - go here, the product is outstanding, kosher, and something different than wine. I am no mead expert, but they have different varieties and it's not heavy grog. They've been in business for 15 years, so they know their honey. Great hospitality.

Jon T.

Yelp
Excellent mead and fair prices. Hard to choose a favorite, as there are a variety of options and flavors.

Yelp
Ended up at the winery when we missed the driveway for the other one. So thought hey let's give it a shot! Was happy we did. Walking in you are greeted by two super sweet dogs! After the greeting they disappear so don't be worried if you don't like dogs! I actually wish they had hung out longer! Such sweeties! They have a great open room. Which gives off more of a living room vibe then a business. They also have a greet patio area. Would of loved to enjoy it but the rain was pouring!!! On to the tasting, mead is not for everyone! We tasted all of them and some of them were amazing others not my favorite. The lady doing the tasting was great! Super friendly and even gave me an empty bottle of the rose mead because I loved the bottle so much! I highly recommend giving mead and them a try!

Yelp
We went to Sky River Brewing during my birthday weekend in October as part of our "Woodinville Hop". I had never had mead before and had definitely never looked it up, so I was ready to rid myself of mead ignorance with a tasting. Did you know that ""honeymoon" comes from the ancient tradition of giving bridal couples a moons worth of honey-wine"? How opportune, since I wanted to give something for my sister and brother-in-law for their November wedding. (Unfortunately, I left the bottle (not a moon's worth) at home... and now have to try hard not to open it for myself. Must remember to send it to them... before they go on their late honeymoon!) The mead was smooth and sweet, and the lady who was helping us was very friendly and informative. I'm definitely going to have to go back and pick up another bottle during our next "Woodinville Hop"! Also, for a story on the history of mead, you don't have to wait to visit them to grab a pamphlet. You can check it out on their website. :)

Yelp
I wish i could give this place a 10 star rating. Fabulous mead. Interesting flavor. Great facility indoors and outdoors. Pop up 10 thousand villages store. Couches. A few board games and lawn chess. Beautiful views. Taste Wilridge wines in the same venue. Quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Wine club :16 bottle/year commitment.

Yelp
I love mead! I first tried Sky River a few years ago when I found a bottle at my parents' house that was hiding in the back of the cabinet. After researching further, I discovered that the bottle of mead was made locally. It wasn't until recently that I had a chance to go mead tasting, thanks to a livingsocial deal. I took a friend and we tasted each of their 8 meads that they had available at the time. The tasting wasn't rushed at all and we tasted each one at our own pace. The space was beautifully decorated for the holidays and felt really cozy. They also have a little sitting area with reading material and chess and backgammon, if you're in the mood. We sipped mead as we took a look around. They even have other honey-related things for sale. I left with a bottle of the dry mead and a bottle of their rose mead. Mead is a good alternative to wine. But be warned that it is sweet. The spectrum goes from sweet to really sweet. Don't be fooled by the dry mead; "dry" in this case just means "a little less sweet".
google avatar

Priya C.

Yelp
Went here for a tasting and was stunned by how fantastic the mead was - not only were there a lot of unique options (ginger, anyone?) the flavors of the different honey were highlighted incredibly well. They have a great dry and semi-sweet option as well, and none of their meads taste like syrup which is what I often encounter elsewhere. Beyond pleased and must convince greater distribution across the US to happen! Friendly, family run and a beautiful establishment as well. There was a cute patio overlooking the area to enjoy a glass =)

Yelp
Such a great experience. Went to a tasting today and were able to try 10+ meads. We took 4 bottle home. Reasonable priced. Very delicious. Do not miss. This is a wonderful spot. Thank you Glenda and Lou!!

Yelp
This meadery tasting room is nestled in the prime winery area of Woodinville. There are two wineries that have tastings in the same tasting room, so there's something for everyone! We came here around 1:30pm on a Saturday, and the smallish parking lot was already full, which is always a good sign! They have two tasting options, and all of their different meads are available to try. There variety of the meads range from dry to sweet and everything in between. The tasting room has plenty of comfortable seating and great views of the valley. There are also some small things to buy made from honey/beeswax plus some cool wine accessories. Of course, you can purchase all of the meads that you sample at a great price. This is a cool place to come try mead and support a local company that makes great meads!

Yelp
This was the best tasting experience I had in Woodinville, hands down. My one previous experience with mead left me a little skeptical of this whole honey wine business--it was too sweet for my liking, and didn't have much else to round out the flavour. However, a friend very enthusiastically recommended Sky River, and thus our large group of ~15 ended up traipsing down here on a very rainy Saturday. First off, the space was large and roomy yet still had a cozy feel to it. Two other wineries share the tasting room, so it's a good pit stop. The room is also atop a hill, so you even get a nice view to complement your tasting. Sky River lets you sample all 9 of their offerings for $10. The tasting fee is comped with a bottle purchase. Most bottles run $15-20, so I would highly recommend you go this route. Why? Because this mead is fantastic stuff. It's crisp and flavourful, yet not overwhelmingly sweet. My favourites were the Brochet Mead, Raspberry Honey Wine, Solas, and Rose Honey Wine. I took home a bottle of the Brochet. If you're wondering whether or not to come here, you definitely should--as long as you can stomach something that's a bit on the sweeter side. It's very likely that the stuff you taste here will be very different (and probably better) than any other mead/honey wine you may have had before. If you enjoy drinking Rieslings, you'll probably be able to handle the level of sweetness in most of these wines. It's a unique experience on the Woodinville wine circuit, since everyone else just offers the standard red and white wines. Don't miss out!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I have a Washington wine passport, and Sky River was one of the participating wineries, so we decided to go there for a tasting. We had never tried honey wine before, so we were really excited to check it out. Sky River shares a tasting room with two other wineries (Pleasant Hill Cellars and Icon Cellars). Because the mead is so sweet, our server recommended that we taste at the other two wineries first, so that we could go from dry to sweet. We took her recommendation and had a great time at the other tasting areas. The tasting room is atop a grassy hill with a beautiful view of neighboring fields. They have plenty of furniture outside, so we sat in the sun and slowly enjoyed some wine. After sampling the wines from the other wineries, we were finally ready to try the mead. Our server started us off the with their dry mead, and that's when we learned that mead was far too sweet for us. The first sip of the dry mead made my eyebrows raise with how sweet it was. We tried to play along and keep going with the tasting, but the semi-dry mead was just too much for both of us, and we had to pour it out. I have no idea how anyone could handle the sweet mead. Our server was really nice about the whole thing though, and she let us try the raspberry and blackberry mead instead. Although these wines were really sweet too, the blackberry wine was actually pretty good. Although the mead was way too sweet for us, I can see someone who enjoys sweet wines really enjoying it. Our personal taste preferences aside, we both enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Sky River as well as the service we received. If you like sweet wines, you should definitely check it out.

Yelp
This is the best mead, aka honey wine, I have ever tasted by a LONG shot. If you've tried mead in the past and didn't like it you MUST give it another chance with Sky River. This mead is so clean and crisp it's unlike most wines of all kinds; this is really a unique flavor. The tasting room is beautiful with a few tables outside in case you want to bring some snacks and drink a bottle of freshly purchased, and freshly chilled, mead. If you're doing a Woodinville wine tour you really need to stop here and try something different and exceptional.

Yelp
Glenda was super cool, loved the tasting room, and the dogs, wish that had the thicker mead, but liked their offerings

Yelp
I had tried numerous types of mead before and never enjoyed them. I wondered why the old norse sagas were all so full of poetic descriptions of such a lackluster drink. And then I went to a tasting at Sky River. I soon realized that there is a lot of mead to be had, and much of it is poorly made. Sky River's on the other hand, lives up to every boast made by those ancient kings and poets. In particular, their Solas mead is second to none. I now buy it by the case (something I can't say about any other beverage). I bring it with me to gatherings and camping trips that are attended by skilled brewers of mead, and even they find Solas to be among the best. Their other varieties are also delightful - the blackberry, raspberry, rose, ginger and the sweet brochette. I recommend them all. Extremely friendly staff. The two sisters who run the meadery are very laid back and friendly.

Yelp
Outstanding! The girl who was pouring was friendly and helpful, the facility was very nice, and the meads were delicious! All of them! I think we tried 8 different varieties, and the one I liked the least was still quite good. Definitely a return trip coming up!

Yelp
I was super excited when I saw a meadery on Groupon so I purchased the Groupon for my husband and I. We went to the tasting room this past week. It's a small, cute tasting room. We tasted 9 different meads. If you like sweet wine, then you'll have certainly found "heaven" here! I wished the woman behind the counter would have talked to us about the wines...what she was pouring, the type of honey, the process, etc. After she poured each time, I had to ask her what she just poured and hoped each time she might tell me something about the wine, where the honey came from, suggestions for food pairing, the art on the label, etc....anything! All we got was...it's sweet! If you have a Groupon, I'd say it's worth a tasting trip. While my husband and I like mead, these meads were super duper sweet and kind of all tasted the same...sweet...so we did not buy any to take home.

Yelp
This is a great little spot in Woodinville; with all the wineries in the area, it's a breath of fresh air for all of us meade and beer fans! The meade Sky River is brewing is phenomenal! They truly have a type for everyone.. from dry and mellow to sweet and fragrant, your tastebuds AND your fellow meade buds will thank you for giving this place a try. They even offer tastings ($10 a person for unlimited tastings). Oh, and every once in a while they have a groupon which cuts that already amazing deal in half ($10 for two)!! Needless to say, I couldn't recommend this place more!

Yelp
Glenda hosted our group for a private mead tasting, and we had a fantastic time! The location overlooking Woodinville farms is stunning and the mead is delectable. ($5 for a generous glass or tasting). Sky River has crafted a perfect product and a perfect setting for celebration. We will certainly return again and I highly recommend Sky River for your next event!
