The LA Break-Up Guide: Where To Go When It All Falls Apart

"Be honest with yourself. You weren’t ready for a serious relationship and they were leaving print-outs of Tarzana real estate listings on your windshield. Sometimes you’re just on separate paths. And while their path was straight to the home loan office, you’re grabbing the crew and hauling ass to Sky Zone. This indoor trampoline park in Van Nuys is a mecca for anyone seeking zero-gravity highs and low-grade ankle rolls. At Skyzone, it’s absolutely acceptable to throw rubber dodgeballs at teenagers. All in the name of stress relief, of course.  " - brant cox

Google
This a very good trampoline park. They used to Defy before and now under Sky Zone. Lots of play area and activities to engage. Friendly staff. I have been to very many sky zones and trampoline park. Compared to other places, staff here are very reasonable when they guide jumpers. Food items can be expensive. Massage chairs are also expensive but a luxury to indulge 😁 They conduct tug of war play often. This can be very fun. Very tall slide and foam pits are fun too.

Great activity for the kids! Great customer service during my visit. Came when they opened and everything was very clean. The monthly pass was the best deal and cancelled before the auto draft. 👍

Don’t waste your money. The staff is too busy hanging out in the corner with each other then actually making sure kids are safe. They had 3 people taking money and letting people in but what they needed was someone working the slide, instead they closed that area due to not having enough staff. We left at 12:30 even though we could have stayed till 2. We were not the only people leaving because of how bad it was being ran.

First time visiting since it became Sky Zone. Personally, the Sky Zone in the state of Louisiana is much better than this one. Some things here were closed off and out of order. Barely seen any staff members on the floor doing their duties. Place was also smaller than other Sky Zone I’ve been too! But most importantly just glad kids had fun and were safe!

Was encouraged to purchase a monthly pass as i was informed by the employee at the counter it was the same price as a daily pass. I take my two middle school age children here semifrequently so it seemed liked a good idea. After verifying this was a one time charge I was charged a second time one month later. When I called the store and requested a refund as I did not approve this purchase I was referred to send an email to an email address. This is how we assist customers who we stole money from? After reading other reviews it appears this is how they are choosing to answer all customer service inquiries. Via email. The most inhuman way to respond. How about you have a human pick up a phone and call me instead of focring me to send you an email? Will not be bringing my children back here.

Google
The customer service was bad. I had to keep looking for the “person who does the party check ins”. The music played was inappropriate! The bathroom was disgusting! We were unable to order another pizza. They were out of both drinks I requested. The crew members were huddled up talking and eating instead of watching and helping the kids. Two of my kids were burned on the slide because there was no one over there to tell them how to go down properly. The zip line was unattended as well. The entire staff was teenagers. They were not professional at all. As much as I paid for the party package, I expected much better service and environment.

Google
The employees were all sitting in massage chairs avoiding the children and doing their jobs. They did not want to help my daughter with the zip line or the giant slide. In fact one of the girls literally told my daughter to go play on the other stuff. I spent 20 minutes of my time here helping children get the zip line while the staff sat in Chairs WATCHING ME. We were just traveling through and trying to find something to keep our little from being cooped up but will not be coming back on the way back through.

Google
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience there today for a birthday party. The lines were out the door all day long. Upon arrival, party host got into line, waited 25 minutes, only to be told to go to another line for parties. Then the person had to wait another 10 minutes only for the FIRE ALARM to go off and the whole building had to be cleared out- which took forever and the staff took zero control of the situation or made people leave in a quick manner. We were told that this was the second time the alarm went off today and the previous time the customers had to wait 2 hours before being allowed back in. There is no signage to say where to check in for anything. The bathrooms were horrendous and had no toilet paper. The staff have zero control at the facility and enforce nothing. The whole place needs a good scrubbing considering that kids dug to the bottom of one of the foam pits only to find various items that had been lost there. Yuck! The majority of the foam blocks look like they have been chewed on and have chunks missing. Entire place severely over crowded and had to be pushing legal limits. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Sky Zone offers a lot of fun activities and has become a favorite spot for our family, especially after hosting our daughter's birthday party there. It's a typical trampoline park but has some standout attractions like a big slide, zip line, foam pits, dodgeball, and a basketball court, which the kids absolutely love. However, there are a couple of areas for improvement. The facility could benefit from more thorough cleaning before opening, as it often feels less than pristine. Additionally, while the young staff members are friendly, they sometimes seem distracted and not fully attentive to what's happening around the park. Despite these minor issues, our kids still have a blast each time we visit. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and supervision, it could be an even better experience for families.

Yelp
The place is filthy and smells. The bathrooms are especially filthy. The AC must have been either turned to higher temp or broke because it felt just as hot inside as it was outside. Before it was Sky Zone it was Defy and it was the exact same way. When it was Get Air it was better kept. Get Air made sure the bathrooms were always clean and the jump areas were kept up.

Yelp
This is my first time going to this place, not as appealing as I thought. The price was reasonable for 2 hrs @. $21 person, however I'm not sure the price for kids. I didn't feel that it was sanitary enough, the smell was pure awful. But the kids enjoyed much more than I did. I felt the very young staff stayed on their cell phone more than they should have and wasn't engaging upon entry or throughout the facility. I know that the facility is laid back but the appearance of the staff need to be adjusted.

Yelp
My 5 year old daughter was stabbed in the foot today by a sharp pointy object while walking to the zip line. She bled through the sticky socks but the staff took forever to get us a medical kit to clean the wound. Then they couldn't be bothered to look for what poked her and prevent it from injuring another child. A manager was unavailable to speak with me.

Leslie D.

Yelp
Very enjoyable place for children, my grands love it. I would highly recommend this business, colorful and alit for children to burn some energy. Party area a plus.

Yelp
My kids would give this 10 stars if they could. They absolutely love this place. It's a good time. You must have special socks that prevent you from slipping. They send people out by armbands that correlate to your time. You pay for time in 1/2 increments so make sure you show up a few minute before a half hour/hour or you may lose some time to have to wait to begin jumping.

Yelp
I have a VIP membership for my eight-year-old granddaughter and I take her and her friends to the Savannah Defy approximately once a week, sometimes even more often. They are active constantly... jumping, climbing, doing gymnastics, playing with other children there and always ask to stay longer. Like anything else, a membership is great only if you make use of it, as I know from joining gyms for myself throughout the years, and hardly ever taking advantage of going there, and being locked into a lengthy contract and feeling guilty because I am wasting a lot of money. This has been the best membership "deal" I have ever had, truly. Although there are some things that I do feel need improvement at Defy, I see that they are working to correct them, both in regard to the facility itself... the equipment and surroundings...and the young staff/ personnel. The biggest improvement I have encountered is definitely in the staffing and I want to let the management know that! We were there yesterday afternoon after school, November 13th, and there were not many other kids there for my kids to interact with since it was a school day. The check-in person was extremely friendly and welcoming and the young people working went out of their way to make sure my kids knew how to use the new equipment and even played tug-of-war and jump-rope with them to insure they were having fun. As we were leaving, I asked these friendly young staff members their names so that I could let the management and those of you who are reading this know that I was so pleased with their attitude and help. I did not get the name of the very kind young man who did the check-in, unfortunately, but the others names are Tamara, Myah, Xaii, and Nasir!! Thanks, Defy! This grandma really appreciates your providing such fun for "my" kids!

Yelp
Defy gets the job done in a town that doesn't have too much variety to offer. This is the only trampoline park here right now. Monthly membership is a mere $17 - that's quite a deal! Is it immaculately clean here? Absolutely not. Restrooms are always a hot mess and the place overall could use some cleaning every time I am here. My toddler, however, loves it here. For an hour she will enjoy jumping and tumbling and running free. And that is why I keep a membership and continue returning. I hope one day they tidy it up here, but until there's a better option in town or my toddler refuses to come here, I will be back.

Yelp
Place has the heat turned on constantly during the summer, smells like sweat, broken play equipment, make you use other people's used socks, 50 dollars for 1 person to jump for half an hour. Extremely disgusting bathrooms, rude employees.

Yelp
The staff were awesome. Atmosphere was great. The kids had a blast. The only thing that makes me take off a star is the state of the bathroom.

Yelp
My son loves to come to defy to play dodgeball. I got a great deal on a punch card so the value for our visits is great. The employees at the counter are always very nice. I wish they still had a referee for the dodgeball games, it makes the game more fun for the kids. New balls are definitely needed for the game as well. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Franklin-Sports-6-Pack-of-6-Superskin-Foam-Dodge-Balls/53007375.

Yelp
Great experience. The staff was on top of their duties ensuring kids were safe. There were plenty of refreshments to purchase. Wish there were food options given the establishment. The times were reasonable and the price was pretty good. I believe they offer a military discount but I am not 100% sure. Check them out when you're able.

Yelp
I used to go to get air with my grandchildren. It has been a few years ago. This place was scary. Absolutely no supervision of the activities. More than one person jumping on trampoline or not waiting while the person exit trampoline . I saw a young child maybe 4 trying to get out of the pit while another parent was swinging the rope with her child over the same pit. Child almost got hit in head. No supervision in the dodge ball area. No supervision anywhere . There used to be staff walking around supervising and would blow the whistle if kids were doing something wrong. The turned the lights off. I thought it would be like for ten minutes , it was dark for over 1/2. I was watching these four teenage girls trying to stop two of their friends from fighting in the party rooms. I looked to tell the only staff person I saw at the desk about it and he was gone . I looked abs waited fir him. Never showed up. The 4 girls were still acting like they were going to fight and it was still dark so I got my two young teens out of there. Paid for 1 1/2 hrs left in 45 minutes. Very unsafe place.

Yelp
I love taking my kids here. The place is always clean and they play really good music. My kids love this place!

Yelp
My kids love this place! We're so thrilled to see that they managed to stay afloat during this pandemic! The staff is typically mostly teens but they've always been helpful if we've had any problems. My son even lost his phone once and they helped us find it! The manger Demarco is great and extremely friendly and professional! The only down side I've found is that they can get very crowded on certain days and times, otherwise I highly recommend this establishment!

Yelp
The internet Ofcourse makes this spot look spectacular but it's ugh. Pretty regular. My son and his friends had a great time running and sweating out some energy so it was worth the trip. I would think with Covid precautions it would have been a little cleaner. Cool if they had some food or snacks other than the vending machines. Might go again in the future but won't be the first thought.

Yelp
This was a really bad experience for me. Let me start off with the dodgeball game. There was this group of kids. They were being hit by balls multiple times and getting their balls caught. Not once did they get out like they should have. 2 times, the referee clearly saw them being hit, to which he did nothing, ruining everyone else's experiences. (The ref was an African American Male, about 5"10 and 160+ pounds). These kids got everyone out, even after clearly being out multiple times. This ref SHOULD have called them out but he didn't. Don't go here for the dodgeball game because you might have this happen to you. BTW: This happened on November the 3rd, 2019 around 5:30 PM in case the management want to know.

Yelp
Way too many unsupervised older kids that have no regard for the younger, smaller children.

Yelp
So my husband and I took our 3 boys here today and we're not impressed at all. It's $25 for 2 hours of play time and a pair of the jump socks per kid. We were the only people in the entire place except for the staff. The socks you are required to buy to jump are one size and my oldest son who does wear a size 8.5 shoe at 10 years old couldn't get his foot in the socks. The online pictures make it look a lot bigger than what it is. There are just basic trampoline's and a couple of foam pits with 3 small "ninja warrior" sections. Not worth the money. We got a refund for the 2nd hour and bolted.

Yelp
Wanna go to a fun and nice trampoline park? Well don't go here. The whole thing is run by little teenagers with big egos. It was awful customer service. It also was a pretty dirty park from the ones I have previously been to seeing a bandaid on one of the trampolines was not great. What is worst is they just opened and it is already that dirty? Yikes.

Yelp
Love this place! Staff is friendly and very accommodating! We can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I want to report the awful experience I had today at Defy Savannah location. I ordered a Mega VIP birthday party for my granddaughter's 8th birthday. There was 15 kids. We got there and it took over 30 minutes to even get in the park (It's a Saturday and I know they are busy, but this is a planned event so we should not have had to wait). First they placed my granddaughters gifts in the wrong room. Once the "host" figured this out she moved them to the room next door. The room was filthy because noone had cleaned it from the previous party. After the jump time , we returned to the room. There was 3- 2 liter drinks in the cooler. One of them was already open. (not by anyone in my party) It was left from the party before. When we asked for another drink, we were told there was not any more cold and they didnt have any ice. (but they didn't even offer us a hot one). There was no utensils for the kids. There was only 3 pizza's (I asked to order more. Was willing to buy them ) but was told they bought them off site so I couldn't order more. We had no party host. The manager set up the room, slapped the pizzas on the table and left. When I asked about it, I was told they were short staffed and didn't have anyone to host our room. So my son and myself had to pass out the food and the drinks ourselves. I had to leave and go get more drinks and cups and silverware. They didn't even offer a knife to cut the cake until someone in my group went up and asked about it. And the worst part of all, aside from all the employees who were piled up in the office gossiping and hanging out, was the fact that when I asked to speak to the manager, they all piled up at the counter (about 10 people one of whom could have been servicing our party) and proceeded to LAUGH while I was complaining, saying yeah they knew the parties was a ripoff and I should have just purchased a kids jump for everyone. I spent $525 on this party and it was the WORST experience I have ever had.

John L.

Yelp
Music is the worst. Bathrooms are pretty gross. Men's bathroom out of order today. Staff is friendly. Very irritating music.

Dionne M.

Yelp
Gave them my credit card number for basic membership. A couple of months later I noticed being charged twice in the same month. Went back in my statements and found multiple unauthorized charges. Do not give this company your credit card information.

Karlee L.

Yelp
It took forever to get in and there were people breaking in the line and they didn't say anything about it...but we did have fun...

Ginny S.

Yelp
I have been to various trampoline parks in several different states. This place is by far the worst I have ever been to. The kids are super bored after 10 minutes. The trampolines are not tight and bouncy. The place is dingy and run down looking. There is no dodgeball court for the older kids. There is a basketball court and my 10 and 12 year olds were told to get out of that. If the kids flip and miss the landing, as soon as their butts hit the mat they are being yelled at to get up...this I could understand if there were more than 6 kids here, 5 of which are mine. I will NOT be back and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Sunny S.

Yelp
Love this place! Been coming for 4 years and it's like family! I get my competitive side out in dodgeball everyday!

Lee J.

Yelp
Went into Defy the other day and was welcomed to a lively staff. Great atmosphere and outstanding workers not afraid to interact with the jumpers. Had lots of fun definitely will return!!!

Mitchell B.

Yelp
I got kicked out for doing a double into a foam pit and i am not sure why. i feel as though there was not a valid reason to remove me from the premises. i move to allow doubles into the foam pit with out being kicked out. (get air was better)

Angela D.

Yelp
As we entered, the young lady was about to let us proceed to the counter, but then she said oh! how did you purchase your tickets because we had told her we had prepaid tickets. We, of course, looked, dumbfounded. So, then she asked did we buy off the website or off of Groupon. We had purchased them off Groupon since they were half price. She looked at her watch and told us come back in 15 minutes.. which would be 2:00 because they were at maximum capacity. In the meantime, We stood and watched as they let individual people and families in that were not part of a party. We also saw people part of parties enter, but that is understandable. Coming back at 2:00, required us to stand and wait for over an hour! Even though when we arrived, there was no one waiting. I don't plan on going back to this trampoline park ever again!!!!!! We had to drive to get to this one and we certainly can drive to get to a different one. For anyone buying tickets on Groupon, expect to be treated like you have something wrong with you and they want you to go away without telling you so they just make you and your kids whom are naturally impatient wait forever. A ticket should be a ticket. They shouldn't allow Groupon to sell tickets if they aren't going to treat them the same. Ridiculous and poor business practice!!!!
