If you come for the view, then 5 stars like Elmer Fudd getting hit in the head by a mallet wielding Bugs Bunny. You may even get light-headed like Mr. Fudd when wooking out at the Was Vegas Stwip. It's quite beautiful, probably more so at night when we visited. It is NOT James Bond themed at all, so if you're thinking that, you'll be disappointed and cry.
They have a nice drink selection and I opted for the Mad Cowboy which was like a spicy old fashioned. The Mrs had an espresso drink to go with the tiramisu we technically shared (I had one bite by choice). It was a great way to end the evening.
There's a person downstairs, near the Michael Jackson One Theater, that will check you in. He He asked if we had a reservation and we didn't, but the bar was practically empty and we could go outside on the deck as well. Tables may require a reservation, as well as weekends or prime hours. We hit it around 9pm on a Wednesday. I Remember the Time as it was after a show at the Tropicana.
It was funny as he told us which elevator, then which button to press when getting in... There were 2 buttons, Skyfall and Lobby so we must have looked like idiots or something. We managed to figure it out as it was easier than ABC with only 2 choices, then enjoyed the Thriller of a ride with a view as we rose up to the 64th floor.
The outside deck was awesome with no windows blocking your view. You can even hold your camera over the edge, which could be Dangerous if you don't hold it tight. Be careful or it might smack Off the Wall of the building on it's way down.
After a drink, dessert and some pictures we decided to Stop as we had Enough, so we Beat It and headed to the room as the next day was going to be a long one. If you're at either the Delano or the Mandalay Bay, then definitely give it a go, unless you are afraid of elevators, or heights, or Michael Jackson. Luckily, I was good so I'd visit again!
