Can not say enough good things about skyland. Has been on the list to try for awhile and wish I had come sooner. This will be my go to breakfast spot moving forward. The skyland special is absolutely loaded with delicious food for an incredible price - Sub French toast for the pancakes no extra charge! Both times I have been I have got the Greek omelette with gyro meat and it is so satisfying. Tzatziki is perfect. Comes with hashbrowns and choice of bread - their biscuits are perfect! Only one con and that is the hashbrowns are not as crispy as I would like. If you are in the area and looking for breakfast this is the place to go!

Google
A nicely ran family style restaurant. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly!!! The staff was very nice and responsive to our request. Even offered us suggestions in order to save money. Their menu offered a variety of items which our party had everything from breakfast to lunch/dinner items. Would definitely eat there again!!!

Google
Local diner type restaurant with an extensive menu. You can get breakfast all day long. Good food generous portions therefore a good value. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is good. Give them a try. Especially try the buttermilk pancakes! You won't be disappointed!

Google
I Ordered A egg and cheese sandwich and they gave me a bacon egg and cheese which was only 2 dollars extra and when I came back and showed them I do not eat meat and that she rung me up for the wrong order they refused to fix it so I had to order again terrible service . I just wanted the price of what I didn’t order taken off my next order I was denied … MAKE SURE YOUR CHECK YOU FOOD … they place it in a to Go Bag so make sure you check because once your walk out that door it’s over

It was a last minute decision to find a "breakfast for dinner option" Hands down a great choice.

Google
We had a large party at 10:30 am on Sunday, 10/27/24. Service was great and quick! Our waitress got everything right. I got the Veggie Omelette with Hashbrowns and a Biscuit ($10.95). Pretty average, but it came with so much food and for such a good price. My husband got the Skyland Special ($12.95), which came with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and 2 pancakes. Again, average, but so much food. This is your typical diner. Don’t expect anything super special, but you can get a ton of food for really cheap! I recommend for some good comfort food!

Google
The food, service, and atmosphere were good. Price fit portions and selection was good.

Google
I was just completely disgusted. I understand things happen and there's a chance hair can "fall" in your food but to have a meal with the hair cooked inside of it is diabolical. For the cook not to realize they had cooked a long piece of hair in my egg just let's me know they did not care. No business from me anymore

Yelp
The ambiance, food and service. Went here for breakfast and it is a lovely mom and pop shop...ordered the Skyline breakfast and it was LOT of food (eggs, hashbrowns, meat, pancakes, biscuit and coffee for 12.99. The pancakes were excellent - super fluffy...and Our server was a gem! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
This was absolutely amazing. The service was so good. I am literally from the sticks of South Carolina so I'm very picky about soul food but I give this a 10 out of 10 for Charlottte well meat not so much the Mac and cheese

Yelp
The breakfast was pretty standard. We just needed something quick and easy to order. We arrived and were greeted immediately. A couple was about to pay for their breakfast and asked if the chicken wings were any good and she said she doesn't know because she never had them before. The pictures look good and the price seems decent. A server next to her was counting quarters and asked if we'd be helped and then asked the other lady who's turn it was and she ignored her and then sat us. I did feel something wet hit my shoulder and didn't see anything. Then some water rolled down my screen so I let the quarter server know and we moved ourselves. Then she sat someone in that same table! Our server however was extremely sweet and unaware we moved because no one told her but other than that the food was good. I just got a sausage egg and cheese sandwich no complaints it served it job.

Yelp
I walked into Skyland Restaurant, a family-owned spot in South Charlotte, because the place I originally planned to visit Tryon House didn't serve breakfast all day. It was my friend's birthday, and since he loves breakfast, we needed a place that would deliver. This was my first time at Skyland, and it definitely won't be my last! The restaurant had a warm, homey feel--almost like a diner, but with more of a family-friendly vibe. The service was exceptional! Our server, Jackie, mentioned she only works on weekends, but I'd go back just to sit in her section again. We started with the made-from-scratch onion rings, which came with a house-made ranch so good I could have drunk it. Jackie also recommended the chicken and rice soup, and let me tell you it was so good my friend nearly ate mine! She ended up bringing him his own bowl, which was such a sweet touch. For the main meal, my friend got the Skyland Big Breakfast, which came with everything including three huge, fluffy pancakes. I went for the chicken and dumplings, with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. The best part? They let me swap out a side for banana pudding, and of course, I had to try it! From the food to the service, everything exceeded my expectations. I loved every moment of this meal it was an unexpected gem, and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
On a recent visit to Charlotte, my husband and I stopped in here for breakfast. We haven't visited here for about 2 years. It is a family friendly restaurant with a full menu. Husband likes the Western omelette. I chose one of the senior breakfasts of eggs, meat, toast and hash browns. The food and service were good. There are daily specials available.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was excellent and the decor was pleasant for a Greek Breakfast establishment. Nice soft jazz music in the background. Great place to stop in and check out. I would even go a little out of the way to come here.

Yelp
The food is always well prepared. Italian and country comfort foods. Lots of choices, great desserts. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, worth the stop. It's a regular stop when I'm passing thur Charolette. Quick and friendly service. A booth or a table they have them both the interior is old Italian country, just like the food.

Yelp
Great, basic breakfast place (I've only been for breakfast) but with some definite upgrade options if you're really hungry. Prices were more than reasonable and the wait staff took great care of our group. No waiting time issues on a Saturday mid-morning. Coffee as coffee, not just dark lukewarm water.

Yelp
Food was great! Service even better! Quick seating. We had a very large party with more kids than adults and the waitress handled it like a champ!
google avatar

Yelp
I WON'T BE EATING HERE AGAIN. This used to be a hole in the wall with decent food. Recently, they are under new management and changed the seating and the recipes. Our usual (the sky land special) was trash and service is terrible. We usually enjoy the service but the waitresses kept touching our car seats even though we asked them not to. It completely ruined our appetite. We didn't eat our food and when we went to the register they didn't apologize or anything.

Yelp
May be for the older crowd but i liked the food took my family they just felt like we were the youngest people there prices were a little on the pricy side

Yelp
They just went through a remodel maybe like a year ago but the charm, heart, food and service at this place hasn't changed. This place is the real deal. Food and service are both top notch! I ordered the lunch special that came with their famous chicken, lemon and rice soup (my words not theirs) and my wife had a burger and fries. The waitress brought my wife a small cup of soup so she at least try it so she would order it the next time. Big hint, she did. Everything about this place is great and awesome. For gosh sakes I even the salads here are great!
google avatar

Yelp
I really liked the experience I had with my friends here. We came in Saturday morning for breakfast and service was great, food was delicious and cheap, and overall just a nice diner vibe. Better than waffle house or other brunch places for sure.

Ayla G.

Yelp
I was passed and ignored at the door multiple times just to be told after a few minutes that I could sit anywhere. I almost just left, I should've. Ordered a ham and cheese sandwich with a side salad, the salad is legit tomatoes and lettuce, my tomatoes were frozen. I asked the waitress if I could just have fries instead and that wasn't a problem. My waitress was nice but I really don't have anything else good to say. Won't be here again. Maybe I came at a bad time who knows.

Yelp
Off the beaten path but excellent find. This morning I was looking for a place for Brunch after Church and in the listings, I came across the Skyland Family Restaurant. Knew about it because it's a long time Charlotte Staple but had never made it there. After Church let out at 10:30 in Davidson, we drove down and got there right at 11:00 which made my wife very happy. She's not a Breakfast fan and at this time, they were transitioning to the Lunch Menu. It's a typical Greek/American Diner open 24/7 and the menu if focused on Comfort Food. We were a bit shocked when we pulled in and the parking lot was packed but when we got inside, we were immediately seated. Nice interior with typical Greek décor. Service was fair because our server kept forgetting things like I ordered unsweetened tea with lemon and it was served without lemon. The complimentary bread was forgotten till it was asked for etc. My wife ordered the Veal Parmesan with Spaghetti which came with a House Salad. I had the Country Style Steak with White Gravy, Fried Okra and Potato Salad. Each meal started out with the complimentary cup of the Greek Chicken and Rice Soup. My wife loved her Veal Parmesan but the red sauce on the Spaghetti was a bit bland. The Salad was very good and everything on it was fresh. My Country Fried Steak was very good but the Fried Okra was a bit on the greasy side and the Potato Salad was good but a bit heavy on the mustard which overpowered the side. All in all, very good and a nice place for scoring some good comfort food.

Yelp
I LOVE Skyland. Greek owned and operated and they care, need I say more? All fresh food only, Skyland is a Charlotte staple for decades, been going since I was a boy and still LOVE it today. If you love 'breakfast-anytime, lunch and dinner diners' you will be in diner Mecca trust me please...and killer real southern freshly brewed iced tea! You liked a homemade soup of the day, good b'c comes with the meal, who does that!...salad dressings made in house, the ranch, omg you will dream about it and ask to take some home, oh and corn bread or biscuits? Just say YES please! Hope that's helpful y'all.

Yelp
If you are looking for down home country food, and a good diner, this is the place to go! The staff is very loving! And they always greet us and remember us!

Yelp
Great restaurant close to the airport. Service was extremely fast and friendly and the food was typical breakfast fare. I have no regrets about skipping the chain restaurants and coming here instead.

Daniel H.

Yelp
Great food and lots of it. Was great that they could seat a large party like ours with room to spare. Would go back! Want to try their breakfast someday.

Yelp
This gem is one of the surviving pieces of retro Charlotte restaurant culture. They are one of the only old school family restaurants in charlotte and should be celebrated for their diverse menu, friendly staff, and retro vibes. In a city that continues to demolish its historical institutions to replace with yuppy corporate chain restaurants, Skyland still stands. This restaurant serves as a reminder that charlotte is still a southern city with good southern cooking.

Brenda B.

Yelp
This restaurant has been a part of the Charlotte community for decades! The meals are excellent, as well as the service. Skyland has just reopened after a renovation that is beautiful! The new sky-blue decor with new decorations is so refreshing! This is one of my favorite, family-owned restaurants!

Yelp
Skyland Family Restaurant is a Charlotte gem. The food is solid comfort food and breakfast is top notch. The waitstaff is efficient and friendly.

Yelp
Food got cold faster then you could eat it due to the high speed of the fan.. Another family complained about the family and The server asked the management if she could turn it down, and was told no. I went to the blond lady(Rita) at the front and her response was oh well, move. Very unfriendly and unconcerned about the customer.. She was more concerned with talking with her friends, then helping the customers. The server felt real bad, and apologized.. In the picture is my food that was left and cold before I could get it eaten.. I felt bad that Management put her in such a position.. The food we ate before it got cold tasted good, to bad the atmosphere wasn't better..

Sheila H.

Yelp
I am very disappointed with the way the restaurant has changed. The prices have gone up, and the portions have gotten smaller. The servers used to be professional. Today, the 3 servers were dressed in tshirts cut up jeans, and shirts with their stomach hanging out. We had to continue to ask for simple things, like refills, spoons, and straws. This used to be our go-to breakfast restaurant.. but we won't be back.

Yelp
My fiancé passed away. He was a famous sports person. As I am reading over my old revies I realized Cam Newton lived across the street from this restaurant before he had children...or too many. Wow. life has taken us in all kinds of directions.

Yelp
This was my second time at Skyland. Went for breakfast with a friend around 11am on a Friday. There was plenty of parking and it wasn't too busy. At that time of day, the demographic was older. I ordered the Skyland breakfast. I was excited to find out that you can choose between pancakes or french toast even though the menu doesn't say you can choose one or the other. The only downside is you can't get 1/2 french toast and 1/2 pancakes. I requested scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns and french toast. I wasn't really blown away by anything I ate. The eggs weren't scrambled, needed salt & pepper and were too soft for my liking. The turkey sausage had a weird taste and I ended up not finishing it. The french toast and hash browns were decent but I wouldn't go back just for their french toast or hash browns. The best things about the restaurant were the prices, quantity of food and the server. The server was super sweet and made sure we were taken care of. Also, Would I go again? Hmmmm...I wouldn't make a special trip to go but I wouldn't be opposed to going if someone else wanted to try it out. I'd try ordering something else though. Their fish looked good.

Yelp
I don't normally do this because I understand how stressful food service can be...from the moment we sat down the waitress was messing up our order! Asked for sweet tea got unsweet asked for 1 orange soda we got 2 extra ones we DID NOT ASK FOR! Careless of how she placed the food on the table! BUT THE WORST OF IT WAS when this restaurant REFUSED to refund me for a plate that had a living moving fly in the food!! IM GOING TO SPEAK UP after all 5 of us saw the fly we were DONE we stopped eating and just wanted to go but the waitress was super pushy and pushed for my husband to get a new meal after the first plate with the fly?! What made you think we would more food from your restaurant after finding a fly in the first plate!? They refused to refund me and made me pay for the forced replacement meat that my husband didn't even want. It was only $6 but I was livid when I left!! IF YOU EVER GO HERE INSPECT YOUR FOOD AND IF THERE ARE BUGS LEAVE IMMEDIATELY OR THEY WILL FORCE MORE FOOD ON YOU!
google avatar

Neil K.

Yelp
The service was good, the food, not so much. Ordered the turkey & stuffing and left it on the table. I paid, left a 20% tip and wondering how they could serve this. The turkey was a mess - chopped and pulled, laying over some type of bread wannabe dressing which was laced with a gleaming yellow broth accompanied with hard okra.
google avatar

Eve M.

Yelp
The server was wonderful! Very accommodating. However, my husband didnt like his food.. offered to pay for it. And what seemed like the owner made a comment that we dont know what fish is while walking past us, as his dish was calabash shrimp that was very dry and flavorless. The rest of our parties meals were decent, at best. But that attitude toward a customer was uncalled for, and is what will make me say not want to return. There are many restaurants nearby offer the similar food. I never like leaving these types of reviews, as I know how hard running a restaurant is already. Its not in my nature. But again the server was awesome and she did remove the charge of my husband's meal. That boosted my rating from 2 to 3 stars was all due to her.

Cameron K.

Yelp
great experience, everyone is so nice and the food was great. affordable as well. the atmosphere was really good and it was really well decorated. highly recommended. lisa was fabulous as well

Yelp
A nice family place that was easy to get into and they were on the ball. Fast seating and great service even though they did not have a lot of staff. Supporting these businesses is key and much better than the area chain restaurants!

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Honestly so good! Service was great! I'm glad I wore my stretchy pants I ate so much food!

Yelp
Horrible, the food was terrible I want a refund! The bread was moldy it tasted like cafeteria food

Yelp
When you don't expect much and a place delivers big than you can get excited. At almost 1 AM while laid over from a delayed flight I hit them up because it was walking distance from the hotel. I had not eaten anything for half the day with flight issues and probably anything would have tasted good, but they did better than good. This restaurant is not far from the Four Points Hotel and they recommended it since everything else had long closed except for the strip joints and the 24 hour Skyland Family Restaurant. I really did not care, I was just so starved and needed FOOD! I walked the couple minute trek and found the restaurant easily. The sidewalk was clear and there was actually business at this time of the morning. It was hard to get a vibe for the area since everything was dark, but there were other businesses within sight. I walked through the doors and was immediately greeted by a woman who seated me at a booth. Not long after a male waiter came by and offered coffee, water and a menu. Within what seems seconds drinks were on the table. The coffee was solid. When the waiter came back with drinks I took no time to let him know that I was exhausted and just needed to eat, but preferred breakfast and asked for a recommendation. Some sort of combo with eggs, meat, another side and pancakes were offered. I decided on sausage patties and grits to accompany the meal. The waiter was friendly and it was refreshing after a really bad day at the airport. I took a look around the dining room and it was set up with booths on the exterior walls. and interior middle. Seating capacity was pretty good and from what I could see it was tidy. There were various wall hangings which made it feel more comfortable. It was a standard diner place I guess, I was too tired to remember more details. My breakfast came out so fast I thought it had to be a mistake and someone elses. But oh no, they rushed it through because I said how hungry I was and boy was it appreciated. The food smelled great and I was ready to dig in, but which first. Well I hit up the grits off the bat, something I don't often order. They were delicious, but so was everything and temperature was nice and hot. My waiter checked up on me twice and provided a coffee refill. My area was cleared quickly of dirty dishes upon finishing and the check was in hand to check out. I found the bill to be almost a mistake, it was so reasonable for the amount of food. The woman up front when paying was also friendly and we chatted a few minutes about all the wrestling memorabillia on the wall. The owner is a HUGE fan of wrestling. So, if anyone wants to talk wrestling come in during the day and he will bend your ear off I imagine. I have no idea about the rest of the menu, but my meal was definitely quality. The service was about as good as you could possibly get. The place was clean and they offer 24 hour dining which was a bonus for me. I can imagine there lunch and dinner meals are pretty darn good too! The pies in the case as I headed out looked yum. They are doing this right at the Skyland.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
There is a difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive." Skyland is the "inexpensive" part with low cost meals that are good quality and good quantity. I love that they are open 24 hours and in this part of town, that's a good thing. Short walk - quarter mile - from the Woodlawn Lynx station as well. My daughter and I both opted for breakfast and were quickly served large portions and as much coffee as we could drink. My cheese and mushroom omelet had plenty of both. The hash browns were plentiful though you might want yours a little more well done. Two full meals for $20 with tip. Hard to go wrong there!
google avatar

Monea T.

Yelp
BETTER THAN I EXPECTED! The chicken was so flavorful! The meat was really juicy which is rare for chicken breast. I liked the greens a lot. They sort of taste like canned greens. I'm not sure if they were canned or not but they were delish. I really hope they were not canned because their menu says "fresh vegetables" The rice and gravy were ok. NOT ENOUGH GRAVY! The gravy just sat on top, it didn't penetrate the rice like I would have liked it. I would definitely return. I ordered through Door Dash but in the future, I'm going to try to go in and visit the actual location so I can get the entire feel. That will tell me everything I need to know! I GIVE IT A 3.7
google avatar

Tracy C.

Yelp
I have been coming here for over 20 years. For the past 3 years or so, the quality of food has diminished greatly. Today I ordered the turkey, dressing and gravy special. I tasted it and there was a funky taste to the gravy (which was covering everything). I was disgusted. I called the restaurant and agreed to bring it back. I asked for a refund instead of them replacing it. The older lady (who has worked there for years) had the nastiest attitude. When I was walking out, she tells me not to come back. Trust me I won't! I have supported this restaurant for years, even thru the robbery that happened there at gunpoint not long ago. I will never return here. Eat here at your own risk!

Emily P.

Yelp
This restaurant was AMAZINGGGG!! Waitress was so nice and food came out so fast!! Can't wait to try our cheesecake we are taking home!!

Yelp
We live a few blocks from Skyland, and it has become one of our favorite local haunts. It's an older business and the decor is a bit dated, but we have never been disappointed in either food or service. We ALWAYS recommend them to friends/family who come to visit. They are open 24/7 and their staff is amazing! We often get the same waitresses and regularly see the same customers here. The food is delicious and ridiculously inexpensive. The portion sizes are massive, so make sure you are hungry when you come in!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Nice big menu .. many choices for breakfast, lunch or dinner ... been here different times of the day and always satisfied with the choices for great meals
google avatar

Shivaani K.

Yelp
Other than the fact that this is the only place open till 4 am or so there is really nothing to talk about. Food is average. Not really warm but i guess people come there to just fill in their tummies for a late night snack. Don't have too many expectations. Update: in retrospect, I do agree my experience was average. So I'm bumping it up to 3 stars.

Yelp
I just really wanted to go out of my way to express my gratitude for this food. I got the Skyland Special: Hash Brown, choice of meat, eggs, 2pancakes all for a short of $8.95. I ordered thru Postmates I've never been to the restaurant myself just seeing how they packaged food with OBVIOUS care and also took note of the memo I wrote about me not being a meat eater and I rather more hash browns shows you really respect your clientele and I deeply appreciate that. Thank you. It's not everyday you get great delivered food in the city of Charlotte.
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
Breakfast was so good, esp for late night. We were so hungry and wanted to grab something to go. Voila! Skyland! Had egg sandwich on biscuit and pancakes. Really good all around. Would want to try their belgian waffle...husband didn't share but wolfed it all down! Very friendly staff. Good prices. Busy even for late night but not long wait. Oh and their boston cream pie cake slice was heavenly. Wow.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped for a early lunch and I got sick half way through the meal. Had to run to restroom immediately and had told waitress about filthy silverware... Manger was informed took $3.00 off? On the way home pulled car over to vomit. Again at home. My Dinning friend spent much time in bathroom after returning home! Never eat at this restaurant!!!! Management when called wasn't concerned whatsoever!!!!!

Stacy K.

Yelp
We have been ordering takeout from this place for years. My favorite has always been the 1/4 chicken and oven roasted potatoes which are soooo good and the main reason we order from here. Well the last few times we ordered we didn't even get potatoes so I usually call before I order. This time my boyfriend ordered on door dash and evidently they stated they may not have some things so the chef will choose. Well the chef chose 3 of the same sides... pinto beans. So for $47 we got a 1/4 chicken, 3 sides of pinto beans and mashed potatoes. The chef couldn't give us 3 different sides? The restaurant couldn't call us? We did order a house salad also which was iceberg and had 2 slices of onion, 2 slices of tomatoes and a sliver of green pepper. Thats it! Needless to say we will not be ordering again. So long to the best potatoes. I guess they don't make them anymore anyway.

Yelp
Yoooooooo! I haven't been here LITERALLY in years! Son about to smash! I ordered a cheeseburger (pretty basic but good) with fries, macaroni, okra maaaaan! Pics below man, pics below.....

Yelp
Ya know, luckily our server Casey made it worth while. Very sweet girl. Bc our food was mediocre at best. It's just, lacking. They have so much potential. It's decent, but my husband is a better cook for sure. They do have good options. They do serve breakfast all day. But the food is just not that flavorful. I'm going to give them another chance and will update. Pancakes where well done on the outside, but raw in the inside.

Yelp
Horrible meal. The worst I've had while visiting CLT. Over cooked roast beef, canned pinto beans and canned yams. Oh and this is what $5.50 worth of carrot cake will get you. Never again.
