I think... I don't understand this place. Inevitably, it would seem this spot is not for me. It is billed as a theme park - there is a chairlift (fun!) that takes you up to the ranch. There are sitting and picnic areas, a couple of miniature horse pens, a snack shop, a gift shop, and a skywalk of sorts that leads to views across the Sevierville region.
They were definitely still expanding the area. I could see the construction vehicles clearing new areas and the mock food trucks were still in development.
The sitting and picnic areas occasionally brought out some live entertainment (lassos, singing, whips, etc). There were some outdoor games, firepits, and rocking chairs.
But what is value for the price of admission? The views? A place to sit? Maybe if there were more animals? It's strange because it's really in the middle of a resort/tourist town. You can head over to the Island of Pigeon Forge (no admittance cost) or spend $$$ at Dollywood. I don't understand it's identity here. If it were in the middle of nowhere, it would succeed (right?), but there plenty of other places to sit and spend $ at a gift store. I think Anakeesta is one other place that sort of competes in their space. I've never been to Anakeesta, but it seems like their angle is more gardens and stuff like that. I know the passes are multi-day, but I can't spend all that time here - I have the rest of this tourist town to visit!
The staff, as others have mentioned, are all very nice though.
The mountain coaster - one of the newest in the area - is pretty fun though! However, you don't need to access the ranch to ride.
