"Italian eatery with a gorgeous interior. There are multiple rooms with different decor: a bar setting with screens for sports games, an intimate cabin like room, and the main attraction being the atrium with the tree transcending the center of the restaurant, brushing against the skylight. The staff is friendly and warm and will offer you recommendations if you're not sure what to order off their extensive menu. The scenery is on point!" - Grace Duong

"Westwood Italian restaurant Skylight Gardens had just celebrated its 12th anniversary when it quietly closed in recent weeks (it originally opened in 2012). A tipster says the signage was taken down and that multiple Yelpers have reported it closed, though the restaurant’s website — which announced the restaurant’s 10th anniversary — is still up at the time of publication." - Eater Staff

This restaurant has great ambiance. Beautiful skylight in the ceiling sort of a rotunda area. Food is good service is excellent. Good parking around the restaurant. Nice and quiet and can be very romantic. The middle of Westwood so you can walk after dinner to walk off the amazing desserts. I would definitely go again.

A great little restaurant with nice ambiance and great service. We came in as walk ins and they were so accommodating to get us a table without a reservation. Service was great and so was the food. Enjoyed the homemade pasta.

Great drinks, nice atmosphere, and good service. Updates 9/14/2023. My last visit was on a Thursday. They had a sign out front that read "Live Music, Thursday - Saturday." So, I was looking forward to that. But, I was greeted with "there is a private event at 8:30. I asked what time it was. 7:25... I decided to stay. The beet salad was alright. If it was me, I would chop up the beets and toss them in the dressing, put the crispy pieces on top, then a scoop of that delicious buratta :) the pear and gorgonzola ravioli wasn't as good as the last time I was in. The ravioli was twisted at the top, which made it too doughy. I am attributing the difference to the impending event (*fingers crossed*).

A great date spot with tasty cocktails and good food options. Definitely on the pricier side over all but that's to be expected with the location and atmosphere. There was soft live music for most of the dinner service. Some of the plating choices are visuals first, practicality second which is okay but does lead to some difficulty in figuring out how to go about eating the food.

Such a great romantic place where you can get some amazing Steak, Salmon, Pasta, Burgers or Chilean Sea Bass. They also have a parking structure across the street where they'll validate for the whole day. The issue there is that structure ramp going up is very narrow. The food we ordered here tonight was delicious. I got the salmon with their special sauce on the side since I wasn't a fan of it with French fries as my substitute from the mashed potatoes and spinach. My fiancée got the Chilean Sea Bass which she said was good but some part was over cooked. My friend got their pasta and his fiancée got a chicken pasta. The restaurant is also dog friendly too because the older couple seating next to us brought their dog and their server give the dog water. Our food did take a while to come out but it was worth the wait. Our waiter was very attentive to our table and answered all our questions. The dessert the girls picked was the Cicoccolatissimo which is like a chocolate lava cake, the girls really loved it. Also if you're a soda fan, they have Mexican cola here but there no free refills.

5 out of 5 stars for this upscale Italian hot spot. The interior is breathtaking. Staff was as friendly as can be. They put so much work into the food, made with the freshest ingredients imported straight from Italy.🇮🇹 Try their Spaghetti Bolognese, it will not disappoint, I promise. Extensive Wine list with craft cocktails made to perfection. Keep at it Folks, you’re doing everything right!

I much enjoyed my dinner here. The food is Italian, but with a big Mexican influence. Portions are not really big, but okay. The house wine was great for the price. The atmosphere is great inside, I felt myself very comfortable, not mentioning that the service was very fast.

I had visited years ago when this was the Hamlet Gardens. Still an amazing room with huge domed skylight in the middle. Now it has a more Italian menu but retains the famous old table side guacamole. The chicken piccata was perfectly tender with a sauce that was good enough to drink. My friends also loved the steak frites as well as a pasta dish with goat cheese and spicy sausage. They have valet parking and it is a walk from most of UCLA.
