Roadside establishment serving up classic American burgers, fries, sodas & shakes since 1935.
"Situated on a peak in Forest Park, this drive-in has been serving American diner favorites since 1935. With its red vinyl booths and wood-paneled walls, Skyline is Portland at its most Twin Peaks, with customers old and young enjoying quarter-pound cheeseburgers, chili cheese fries, and a wide variety of flavored milkshakes, like butterscotch, hot fudge, and cherry pie." - Rebecca Roland, Nick Townsend, Thom Hilton
"The ‘50s drive-in vibes at this classic Northwest Portland burger spot remain intact. Skyline first opened in 1935, and the restaurant still serves nostalgic milkshakes blended with pie, half-pounders on sesame buns, and chili cheese tots to eat sitting on the hood of your car or on the patio. It’s the ideal spot for a weekend lunch after a hike in Forest Park." - Heather Arndt Anderson, Krista Garcia, Rebecca Roland
"Driving up Skyline Boulevard from Portland to get to this James Beard-approved burger joint in the sky presents a curvy adventure. The shop, wedged into the intersection of Skyline Boulevard and Cornell Road, is a historic spot for classic burgers, fries, and shakes. Despite limited space, Skyline has a nice outdoor area with picnic tables, where the speaker plays mellow classic rock and orders are announced over the rush of cars and trucks. Skyline is a fun post-hike stop when traipsing around Forest Park." - Rachel Pinsky, Eater Staff

"Portland is no stranger to old school diners, but there’s something about Skyline’s isolated location in the wooded hills just southwest of Forest Park, that makes a visit there feel like an act of time travel. Truly colossal burgers are the main attraction here, but like any good diner, Skyline’s menu is deep, with hot dogs, fried chicken, chili and other soups, fresh and toasted sandwiches, and salads with house-made dressing. Perhaps best of all are the thick milkshakes, in more than 20 flavors." - Nathan Williams
