The 38 Best Restaurants in Markham, Ontario | Eater

"Another in the line of grand dim sum houses in Markham, Skyview does all the classics right and then some. Requisite orders include the melt-in-your-mouth char siu, bulky siu mai, rice rolls, and egg tarts. The barbecue pork especially is great on its own, in a rice dish, or in a sweet and meaty pastry bun. Seats can be hard to come by, so expect to wait, particularly on weekends when it can get a bit cuckoo bananas. Skyview also gets first prize for its light fixtures, which look like day-glo jellyfish falling from the ceiling. [$$$]" - Faiyaz Kara

Hands down the best restaurant in town! Fresh ingredients and tasty food. Dim Sum is a good option to taste test. Dinner is more pricey, but they give dessert on the house. Our favourite time to go is 11am (you can order dim sum and from the dinner menu - but be prepared to wait as there is always a long line). Advantage is that Costco is nearby.

The food was good I really liked the beef short ribs and the fried squid. I also like their portion size. Perfect to go and eat with a big group or family. We paid approx $300 for 8people, which is not bad. I totally recommend them. And it's first come first serve as they do not do reservations so there will be a little wait before you get your table.

I visited Skyview restaurant for the fourth time during my two trips to Canada. We love to eat various kinds of dim sum and always order Hong Kong style lobster with small fried fish. This time we also ordered the same dish with additional fried tofu with three kinds of mushrooms and Cantonese style fried noodles with meat & seafood. All were delicious. The way they cut the lobster was so perfect that all of us could eat it without any difficulty and the small fried fish made the lobster very special. Expensive food with high quality is worth the price. The restaurant is very crowded but spacious. You should come early if you don't want to wait in a long line. The waiters can speak good English and are very knowledgeable about the food. I highly recommend this place.

Dined in on Sunday at 6:30pm with my family for a table of 8 people. The interior & decor of the restaurant is beautiful, especially the chandeliers! We were served around 8+ dishes including soup and dessert. Food was very delicious and filling.

Google
Taken dim sum breakfast. Not really much choices but ok. Almost full house on Sunday morning (open at 9 am) and has to wait for seating after 9:30am. Food served in reasonable size in portion, taste are ok, not really amazing. Would be great if they have chillies sauces on the table instead of making request, as every servers are pretty busy. In general, servers are quite friendly and food served fast.

If you’re looking for top-notch dim sum, Skyview is the place to be! The quality of their dim sum is outstanding—everything is fresh, flavorful, and expertly made. From the perfectly steamed dumplings to the crispy, golden pastries, every bite was a delight. What makes the experience even better is the spacious and elegant dining atmosphere, along with the attentive service. The staff are friendly, efficient, and always make sure your tea is refilled and your table is well taken care of. Whether you’re a dim sum lover or trying it for the first time, Skyview is a must-visit. Highly recommend for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience!

We had booked a room, but were told that—due to the hottest day —they’d taken the door off. Well, surprise! It was still boiling hot plus noisy. Another surprise, bird’s nest soup with a generous one tiny thread in it, I skipped the complaints and quietly carried it away—silence seemed easier than sweating through a conversation….

As a Chinese foodie who’s lived in the U.S. for 15 years, I was absolutely stunned by the quality of Cantonese food in Toronto! I visited the restaurant around 1 PM on June 19 — a weekday afternoon — and still had to wait about 30 minutes. That was the first good sign. When I walked in and saw the place packed with elderly Cantonese grandpas and grandmas chatting over tea, I knew I was in for something authentic. And wow, it did not disappoint. The most unforgettable dish was the Baked BBQ Pork Bun (雪山叉烧包) — but calling it just a “pork bun” doesn’t do it justice. This isn’t your average char siu bao. Take a bite from the bottom, and you’ll hit a soft, snow-white dough soaked in rich, glossy, thick BBQ pork sauce. The pork filling is perfectly balanced between lean and fatty. The bun is generously filled at the base, while the upper half is mostly hollow — but that doesn’t diminish the experience at all. After savoring the flavorful bottom half, just when your taste buds have adjusted to the heavy, savory richness, you bite into the crisp, caramelized top crust, the signature “snow mountain” layer. It’s just sweet enough and shatters beautifully in your mouth — like that first sip of coconut water after 30 reps of dynamic planks. A moment of pure gratitude. And so, you go: one bite of crisp crust, one bite of juicy char siu. Repeat. Suddenly, the bun’s gone — and you wish you had three more.

Yelp
Your standard Chinese restaurant that does dim sum and dinners. This place has been around a while and has lots of regulars. We are told that making a reservation is highly recommended. Food is okay and service was okay. The size of the siu mai and beef ball were bigger than I have seen in other places. The BBQ pork in the puff had a very gingery presence and might not be for everyone. The BBQ pork rice comes with 1 bowl of rice. In general an okay visit....

Yelp
I hate to admit it but I honestly love this place. It's like the equivalent of going back to your favourite toxic ex- you just can't let go. LET ME EXPLAIN. The service, meh. Even on days where you're lucky enough to make a reservation AND you arrive early, you still need to wait (and i'm not talking about a 2-5 min wait, i'm saying it's close to a 15-20 min wait). Atp why allow reservations if everyone needs to wait? Service: 3/5 As for the restaurant environment, it's pretty decent (besides the time I saw ratatouille irl climbing the ceiling- yes, even the waitresses were shocked but that's okay, gives the restaurant character). It's very big and spacious- and surprisingly even with lots of people, it's not overly loud where you're practically screaming to hear what the other person's saying. 2.5/5 THE REASON I FALL BACK INTO THIS TOXIC LOOP AND COME BACK is because of the food man. It slaps so hard every. Time. Literally has me in the toughest chokehold. THE HAR GOW IS THE SIZE OF MY FIST AND IK U SEE THE MASSIVE SHRIMP. THEY ALSO HAVE THE MOST UNIQUE DESSERTS LIKE DURIAN CHEESE BUNS? If the dim sum si fu is reading this- i love you and pls bring back the durian egg tart anyways dim sum here is 10000/10. Service is temporary, food is forever- remember that.

Yelp
Amazing food and service that went above and beyond. We stayed at the Hampton Inn nearby and it ended up being walking distance. We had a big party family trip so we wanted to order takeout. When we asked for plates or bowls so we can share the food with, they didn't have any Togo bowls but instead they had small Togo boxes that they cut in half to make enough bowls for us! As for the food, it was very legit and must say it was better than Chinese food in California where we're at. We didn't want it to be too greasy or overly salty due to our family members health, so we requested that. Usually it would turn out being bland or restaurant would be too busy to accommodate. But this place, they accommodate our request even though they were super slammed that night as there were wedding banquet going on at the same time. The food turned out to be fabulous. It was properly seasoned, even though it's not too salty, and it was not your usual Chinese food overly greasy type either. Food was very balanced and flavorful. Their service was top-notch and we would highly recommend anyone staying nearby or in Markham visiting to try this place out.

Yelp
This restaurant served delicious Chinese cuisine. I have to admit that I did not take part in any of the ordering. My Chinese speaking in-laws took care of everything there. But I'm sure I would have figured it out, the restaurant staff were very friendly. Btw, my in-laws were so satisfied that they slipped the waitress an extra tip, so this place is the real deal.

Yelp
12/10/24 10a While in Markham, I was looking for a place that opened early for breakfast and came across Skyview Fusion Cuisine. It's a Chinese restaurant that specializes in Dim Sum and offers a selective menu of Chinese dishes. There is free parking available onsite, which is a nice convenience. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the host and seated instantly. Right away, we were served two pots, one with tea and the other with hot water. Unlike other Dim Sum places I've visited in the U.S., where carts roll around with a variety of options to choose from, Skyview has a more limited selection. Here, only the most popular dim sum dishes are available, and you have to order from the menu. They do offer other kitchen items besides dim sum, but those are only available after 11 AM. I ordered some of my favorite dim sum dishes: steamed shrimp and snow pea leaf rice rolls, steamed shrimp dumplings, scallop dumplings, and steamed pork dumplings. All of them tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. It's worth noting that the portions here are significantly larger about double the usual size in the U.S. and even with just two of us, we could barely finish everything! Overall, the food was excellent, even with the limited options. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely return to Skyview Fusion Cuisine for another meal!

Yelp
Skyview Fusion has got to be one of the best dim sum spots in the area! Each portion was very fresh and generous and left us already planning our next visit. All the classic dim sum dishes we had were all a hit! Notable mentions include the hargow and siu mai. They were incredibly delicious and quite huge in size, but the true star of the show was the BBQ Pork with Rice. It is a MUST try. We have never had anything juicier and tender! (We even ordered another one to go) The Peking Duck was sold out but highly recommended, so it's more reason for us to go back! Only con is the chaotic and longwait time. We had a reservation and still weren't seated until 1.5 hours later! They really make sure you're super hungry by the time you're seated

Yelp
Been going here for over a decade and Skyview's dim sum never disappoints! There's a reason why the restaurant always have a huge lineup for weekend dim sum and it's the quality. The prices definitely aren't cheap, especially that we don't offer any early bird specials, but you can definitely see that the portion size is consistent after all those years and the taste is amongst the best in the GTA. You can find your dim sum usuals like Ha Gow, Siu Mai, BBQ Pork Buns, and Egg Tarts, but they also have some unique features like Pork Feet and Durian Desserts. I like the bird cage dim sum set because you get to try a variety of items for only $20. Walk-in only during weekend dim sum and definitely recommend going in before 10am to guarantee no wait.

Yelp
After all these years, I still think Skyview has consistent delicious Chinese food. Came for a gender reveal dinner and was placed into a private room - nice! The menu was for 12 people, coursed dinner, family style. Everything was so delicious. Suckling pig with jellyfish 5/5 - crispy pig skin with crunchy jelly fish pieces Fried crab claw balls 5/5 - all time favourite. Fried to perfection with juicy tender pieces of crab inside. Scallops and shrimp with snow peas 4/5 - Could do without this dish. But still a good one. Fish maw soup 5/5 - Comforting thick soup and great as an appie. Duck feet with veg and mushrooms 5/5 - Super saucey. I don't eat duck feet but the veggies and mushroom was graet. Maggie sauce lobster 5/5 - Always get this. Can't go wrong. Super flavourful. Steamed sea bass 5/5 - Steamed to perfection. so delicious. Fried chicken 5/5 - A delicious juicy whole fried chicken. Shared family style. Efu noodles and fried rice 4/5 - I could go without this as well. It's a staple at the end of all Chinese banquet meals, but it's okay in taste. Overall a great spot to have any celebration and serves such delicious Chinese food!

Yelp
I've had lots of dim sum in North America as well as HK. I was told to come check out Skyview by a NY friend of mine that is Cantonese and owns/runs a classic Cantonese restaurant. The good: food is authentic and BIG portions! Atmosphere is classic dim sum parlor. Huge dining hall with chandeliers. This is a place for sharing. You can chose what to order while you wait by marking off the menu with pencil. Once seated the menu is ready expedited for kitchen . Your food comes out fairly quickly . Char siu was one of the.m best I've ever had. The price is very reasonable. We pretty much ordered what we wanted , couldn't finish all. 6 dishes came out to roughly $100 Canadian. The bad: lines at peak times can easily stretch an hour + . Service is a bit spotty. You have to wave down someone. The noodle dish with chicken was sloppy/goopy.

Yelp
We dined in on Sunday evening at 6:30pm for a wedding dinner and the food was delicious and so filling! We had to takeout a lot of food after because we were so full. A month prior we dined in & their server will let the bride & groom couple choose which colour for the table cloth on their big day. They blocked half of the restaurant for the wedding & the other half for customers to eat at. It was so loud in general that it was hard to hear when the couple was speaking on microphone

Yelp
We enjoyed our massive spread of food, which also included dessert and a duck soup to start! It was a set meal for 4 but could easily feed more so it was great value!! - peking duck - 2nd dish with minced duck meat served with lettuce - veggie dish - seafood fried rice (yes there's shrimp!) - general tao chicken A great deal and am still enjoying the leftovers! We walked in on a weeknight and it was perf. No wait time :)

Yelp
Food 4 Service 4.5 Ambience 4.5 This is a popular Chinese restaurant. The food presentation is delightful and stylishly plated on large white dishes. I just sat back as each dish was served. Unfortunately I did not take photos of the food! Special pre-order dishes: White Treasure-Whole Steamed melon with Snow Pea tips Plum Duck on a bed of taro Sticky rice stuffed chicken - the chicken was dry so not my favourite Our group plans to return to the restaurant and re-order the Melon with Snow Pea Tips. Complimentary desserts ended the meal: Served hot sweet red bean Mango jelly squares Almond cookies We will return to this restaurant Outdoor parking is available outside.

Yelp
Came here specifically to try their BBQ pork rice and it did not disappoint! It's served over a burning flame to keep it warm and the meat was so tender and juicy! Perfect if you prefer a leaner cut of cha siu as opposed to a fattier cut. The amount of honey glaze was perfect and added just the right amount of sweetness to the cha siu. We saw every table order this dish so you know it must be good! We also got the roast duck with ho fun noodle soup and this was just as delectable. They actually give you pieces of duck with meat instead of just bones and it paired perfectly with the plum sauce. While the cha siu rice is their signature dish, don't sleep on their dim sum dishes! We got the chicken feet and steamed beef balls and both were excellent. Similar to Yu Seafood, portions were huge and prices are decent. Decor wasn't as fancy though and servers were a bit cold and snooty. This, along with the loud atmosphere, made it seem more like a traditional dim sum restaurant. Arrived at 11:30 on a Tuesday and there was no wait for a table.

Yelp
Dim sum was sadly bland and coarse. Here's a breakdown of the items I tried. I use ^ to indicate a half-star and * for a full star. (So, ***^ means 3.5 stars): Better **** radish cake - had lots of radish, tasted fine, fell apart easily ***^ beef tendon - good texture, bland Mediocre *** Chicken feet - not braised long enough to become steeped in flavours & soft in texture *** Har gow, coarse skin, overcooked shrimp *** Curry octopus was okay Worse **^ Sticky rice dumplings with egg yolk were bland ** Scallop dumpling overcooked, lots of shrimp, some scallop * Large Soup dumpling in a bowl- watery flavour less broth with overcooked seafood inside We sat outdoors & it was a nice place to sit. The outdoor tables are surprisingly comfortable. Wifi password doesn't work. Staff was unresponsive about it.

Yelp
This place always looks really busy so we thought it must be good, and it was a solid 4/5. We arrived around 9:45am and were seated right away. The main dining room was mostly full and our group was small so we were seated in a smaller side room but the service was still good. Staff was efficient and not overly friendly, but not unfriendly. The dumplings we ordered were all tasty and were much larger than I've seen at other similar restaurants. I really enjoyed the baked bbq pork buns but just about everything we tried was good. The scallop dumpling was mostly shrimp with a piece of scallop inside - not exactly what we expected it to be. Also a bit disappointing that certain dishes are only available after 11am, so we couldn't order everything we wanted. By the time we left just before 11am the lineup was out the door and it was hard to even get out of the restaurant. I don't know if I'd wait a very long time to get in here, but if you're going for dim sum on a weekend you have to expect a bit of a wait. I'd come back here again, though it's not my first choice.

Yelp
DO NOT RECOMMEND. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Don't bother making a reservation--it means absolutely nothing here. They still prioritize walk-ins, claiming they "can't let them wait too long." Honestly, if they didn't make a reservation, that's their issue. Why should we, the ones who planned ahead, have to suffer for it? Even with a reservation, we waited over an hour. The system is a complete mess. "First come, first served" clearly doesn't apply, and there's no transparency about wait times. It's laughable. Familiar faces seem to get special treatment too. As for the food, it was fine, but nothing special. We had dim sum only, didn't get the stir-fry or noodles, but it's definitely not worth the hassle or frustration. We asked for hot sauce and had to ask several times. I get that they're short-staffed, but some of the staff were just chitchatting with customers instead of helping. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING ANNOYED. I'd give ZERO stars if I could, but unfortunately, it has to be at least one to post.
google avatar

Lucille H.

Yelp
Not sure why this place is badly rated, but I agree the waiting system is sooooo horrible. But the food is in fact very good: - Siu Mai 5/5 - Har Gao 4/5 - eel rice roll 5/5 - baked bbq pork bun 5/5 - Fried seaweed roll 3/5 - glutinous rice 2/5 - turnip cake 5/5 - egg yolk lava bun 5/5 - bbq pork 5/5 - winter melon 4/5 Their shrimp items are deveined, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The Eel rice roll, baked bbq pork bun, and egg yolk lava bun are some of the best I've ever had. Go there after 1:30pm or prepare to wait for 1hr. Please fix the horrible and chaotic wait system!

Joy C.

Yelp
The overall ambience and service were very high quality, the servers were very attentive and there were many who were available around every corner. The food was alright, albeit a bit bland, and came somewhat slowly. It was very busy around dinner.

Yelp
We were at this restaurant for a family birthday dinner. Took 2 tables with a private room. Parking can be a bit busy but there is ample space. Th service had good pacing. We felt everything was made fresh and came out at a reasonable pace. Last thing you want is all the dishes immediately coming out with no space on the table and things getting cold or too slow a service and waiting doing nothing. Food: All the dishes were cooked well. The suckling pig was crispy and moist. Crab balls were freshly deep fried, super hot and fresh. Good crab flavor. Soup came out piping hot with great seafood flavor. Scallops and shrimp were cooked well as well, with the accompanying snow peas having a good crisp. The goose feet had a great sauce, tender. Accompanying vegetables and mushrooms were great too. The fish was very fresh, the meat was super tender. Similarly, the lobster was cooked well though it might have been an older lobster. Rice and noodles were made fresh and flavorful. Price: It is expensive here but worth it for the quality of food and servive.

Yelp
It's super busy still but honestly, it's Just not as good as before. The quality seemed to have decreased big time. The dishes are just aren't appealing. Feels the place is just riding on its past popularity and reputation. It wasn't worth getting up super early to get there for 9 am. My out of town family were not impressed with the food nor the service. Said the One Fusion dishes were of higher calibre and tasted much better. Personally, not worth waiting an hour for a table and beware with their reservations system which means nothing. Will end up still waiting for a long time.

Yelp
A group of us came here for dinner and it was pretty good! We had no trouble with waiting or the service and everything came out timely. The food was also yummy and we ordered a variety of dishes. One thing we really liked was their specialty dessert. I forget the name of it but the picture is below. The lotus paste ducks were yummy and the mango/coconut egg was just fun for the experience. Over all, It was a fun and yummy way to end the night!

Yelp
3.5 STARS My mum wanted to go for dimsum during Christmas holidays, and our usual dimsum spot recently closed down. We decided to go to Skyview. My parents and siblings have never been, but I have. Although I made reservations for 12pm, we weren't seated until almost 1pm. The restaurant is always packed and it's somewhat small inside. People would stand by the side of walls where patrons are dining waiting for a table, because the waiting area is already so full of people sitting and standing waiting to get seated. I asked for two tables, they only gave us one or we would've been waiting for a longer time. Food wise was okay, we ordered a lot of dimsum that day since we had 16 people total, 2 toddlers had to sit on their parents lap and two infants had to lay in their stroller (I was one of those parents). Some foods were hit and miss, but the best ones were the siu mai, har gow, and baked pineapple pork bun. Everything else was okay or the flavour profile was a little off or not flavorful enough. We got ham sui gok and the dough was just so thick and very little meat inside. The chiu chow crystal dumplings, again the skin was so thick, I just removed the skin and ate the stuffing inside. Turnip cake was too soft, didn't hold its shape when trying to pick it up and the sticky rice with minced chicken was bland and not flavorful. The menu doesn't offer some of the popular dimsum dishes like others do. Don't think I would come back here for dimsum, but would give it a try for dinner as I've heard good things about it.
google avatar

Yelp
Me and my friend went here mostly for the presentation. The chicken boat with baby chick puffs was too cute! Food itself is nothing special, the egg tart crust looked undercooked and I prefer cookie crust. Grapes were a strange addition?

Yelp
This review is solely based on the dim sum food and experience. We were really looking forward to eating here when we arrived in the GTA for our first day, especially since Skyview had been on so many "Best of..." lists. Unfortunately, from the first dish to the last one, everything was just bland and not very flavorful compared to MANY, MANY dim sum restaurants I've been to around the world. Being from New York City, I've been spoiled my entire life with great dim sum in the 5 boroughs. Unfortunately, Skyview was very disappointing. We went on a relatively ordinary Tuesday morning at 11:30 AM and, surprise, surprise, it was PACKED. To be fair, it was the week leading into the US/Canada Labor Day holiday weekend. We waited about 15 minutes for a table for 4, so it wasn't too bad, but it still came as quite the surprise that we had to wait for a table on a weekday. The waiting area and actual dining area were separated, so when you finally make it in, you feel this great sense of feeling special -- like we made it! We were whisked into this world of dumplings, rice rolls and sticky rice, but our excitement was soon dashed. The one positive was that we didn't have to share a table because our kids could be quite the chaos creators, so we'd rather not have to apologize for any accidents to fellow customers. ALL of the typical dishes you would expect to be served at dim sum was served here - beef/shrimp/roast pork rice rolls, shrimp dumplings (har gow), pork and shrimp dumplings (siu mai), spring rolls, chicken feet, etc, etc, etc. They mostly had it all - on paper. They don't actually have the carts rolling around (WOMP WOMP), but instead have given into the new way of ordering, which is to fill out the menu instead and have us hesitantly hand it in like a last minute class paper, not sure if we ordered everything we really wanted. In a way, the paper form worked because they did have pictures of everything, so it made it easier to visualize the dishes. We ended up ordering - baked BBQ pork bun pastry, steamed pork dumplings, chicken feet, sticky rice w/chicken, steamed buns with molten yolk, shrimp & pork spring rolls, BBQ pork rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls AND a fried crispy egg noodle Cantonese style --- These are the actual names of the items as listed on their menu. The verdict - as I said earlier, BLAND, BLAND, BLAND. It wasn't just one or two things, it was many dishes that were blah. A few were OK, but, it was hard to forget the many that weren't. It's quite rare to go to a Cantonese/Chinese restaurant and say that the food is bland, but it was here. We recall multiple dim sum dishes just did not go all the way when it came to the flavor - like you would bite into it, chew it, taste it and then the flavor would disappear and not remain in your mouth after you swallowed the food. It's difficult to explain, but you know it when you eat it. And, the one time we actually ordered an actual "kitchen" item, as in a rice or noodle dish, it was disappointing too. The fried crispy egg noodle Cantonese style's (aka pan fried noodle) sauce was so flavorless we were in disbelief. The noodle was very crunchy and crispy, so props there, but the sauce is EVERYTHING. If the sauce is terrible, then the order is shot. I really wanted to like the restaurant, well, because when you dine somewhere you want it to be good, but, also, because we came in with such sky high (no pun intended) expectations. I know Markham is known for amazing Cantonese food and I do believe it, but, this was really one of the most disappointment dim sum restaurants I've been to (and, like I said, I've been to MANY).

Yelp
A Chinese restaurant that is on the middle-to-high end. Although it's right beside Costco, the prices is definitely nowhere close to Costco rate. Some say that the food and service matches the price, but I don't think it's worth it. Our group of 6 ordered a number of dishes: a fish, an eel and Peking duck two-course. Fish was fresh but the eel portion size appeared to be on the small end. We had to flag down the waitress to follow up on the cabbage wrapping duck meat. BBQ pork was delicious and well worth the reasonable price. Dessert was delicious and not too sweet. Would I go out of the way to try this restaurant? Probably not. But at least I'm willing to go back and try other dishes.

Yelp
Chinese dim sum and seafood restaurant . We came in Saturday morning with group of 8 people. Only waited for 10min then got seated. The dim sum here is still good as before, service is fast and friendly, since it is a busy place, they did mess up the additional orders,so make sure to check with them. All foods quality here are good even vegetables in soup taste great. So feel free to try any dishes you like.

Yelp
They said this was the best dim sum in the area, I thought the food was okay. It was good but I don't see it getting a Michelin star anytime soon. I do like that they have a long list of selections but was most disappointed that they did not have egg tart (due to egg shortages) and the Milk tart did not satisfy my craving. The service was pretty good and the ambiance is your typical Chinese dim sum place: busy and loud. Go early or else expect to wait a while. The place was huge, even so, they were very busy!

Yelp
I love dim sum, and I love Skyview. They are very well known among the Asian community for their BBQ Pork (well-deserved), but also for their higher price points. If you haven't tried this before, trust that it will be the best BBQ Pork you've had, pairing perfectly with rice (but you also have the option for noodles as well). It comes on top of a candle-lit plate and is served with choy sum. Although prices have gone up over the years and they removed the crispy chickpeas, which were really good, the BBQ Pork is still consistently delicious and affordable as a lunch or dinner meal (charges increase for dinner). I'd also recommend their har gow, chicken feet, shrimp almond balls (but they are heavy), and short ribs (taste is great but a bit chewy). Reservations are recommended. Parking availability is decent, but it is also by a Costco, so it gets very busy.

Yelp
Best dimsum in the Markham area!! Definitely get the shumai, hargow, fried shrimp spring rolls, and char siu with rice! I would give the food 10 out of 5 stars!! The restaurant does get really busy and my family and I had to wait for around 40 minutes (walked to the costco nearby). If I ever come back to Toronto, I'm definitely coming back to get my dimsum fix!

Yelp
A popular choice for dim sum that won't disappoint! They have all the classics and some unique dim sum dishes too like durian tart and deep fried seaweed shrimp roll. It is super busy and crowded on weekends and would recommend calling ahead to reserve a table. However, you will still likely need to wait a bit after your reservation time, but staff are very efficient. We were too full, but highly suggest you try their cha siu bbq pork - they serve it on a plate with rice!

Yelp
Can there be two equally good spots for the BEST dim sum in Toronto? Yes! Skyview Fusion is the sister restaurant to The One Fusion. It turns out I enjoy Skyview Fusion even more! Known among Toronto's best Chinese restaurant nestled in a suburb. Elevated dim sum with top-notch flavours, clean ambiance to start the day. I always enjoy the Siu Mai & Har Gow. I've also ventured into more Dim sum highlights: - Scallop Dumplings: inside black & gold skin - Soup Dumplings: in huge soup-infused bowl - BBQ Pork: honey-roasted irresistibly moist - Preserved Egg & Pork Congee: a classic - Mango Coconut Jelly w/ Pastry: creatively shaped as birds & eggs within a bird's nest Such comfort in a dim sum meal. The exciting food here makes for a perfect experience. Skyview Fusion dim sum is perfect for any occasion. Come early to enjoy. Service here now always seems pleasant even when busy.

Yelp
This is my go to dim sum place for the past few years and it does not disappoint! My family and I like to try different dim sum places and we always come back here regularly, speaks volume to the quality and service here. They always have new menu items which is interesting to try, but the staples are always 10/10 for me. Service is fast and speedy, there is however always a wait, sometimes more than an hour if you don't call beforehand, but that's pretty common with other dim sum places as well.

Yelp
If you're a fan of barbecue pork, this place is an absolute must-visit--hands down the best BBQ pork in the GTA! The meat is incredibly tender, perfectly glazed, and bursting with flavor. No surprise that there's usually a line-up during lunch and dinner hours,

Yelp
Nice decor, great dim sum, with a wall of impressive water tanks almost like an aquarium. Little ones can easily spend a good 15 to 20min there with the sea creatures. Just an observation that almost all table has ordered a big bowl of BBQ Pork with either steamed white rice, rice noodle in soup, or egg noodle. $13.95 ea and the portion was literally big. So we tried and it was indeed spectacular. It's a must-have if you visit there for lunch.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend with a table of 8 and waited approximately 35-40 min for a table. They were very full house and when we got seated, we were asked for our tea preferences. We got our usual chrysanthemum pu'er but they only gave us chrysanthemum so we had to get the staff to remake for us. We ordered 13-15 dishes and the quickest to arrive were the egg tarts and baked bbq pork buns. A long while passed before our steamed dishes started arriving such as the siu mai and har gow. One odd thing was we ordered two rice rolls. The first one arrived with a separate bottle of soy sauce as usual. When the second arrived much later, the server dropped down the new rice roll and took away the old soy sauce bottle and never gave us another bottle. We had to flag down three different staff and ask for it before we finally got it. And sadly when inputting our order, they forgot to put in the roasted bbq pork. When we brought it to their attention, they quickly brought out a plate. Apparently if there was not one readily available, it would have taken another 20 min to prepare. Overall service was a bit chaotic but food was decent. Their dinner service was definitely more organised.

Yelp
I have not eaten dim sum in a long time as I was living in different countries over the past few years. The food here is still good but lots of items are sticking together like dumplings, probably due to the large size of the dumplings. The portion size is very large, and the taste of the food is also very good. They don't have early bird specials anymore, regular prices even at 9:45am, must be the economy weighing down on restaurants. Also not very busy but I still think this store and other stores by this owner (dragon boat fusion, the one fusion) has the best dim sum in Markham

Yelp
First time here. Heard good reviews for their dim sum, and decided to try them for dinner at 7pm on Sunday. They were busy, but not jam packed. So I was surprised that even with a reservation we still had to wait a bit for our table to be set. Service was in general slower than expected. They had many many hosts and servers running about serving but the kitchen timing of dishes was not well paced. We only ordered 4 dishes plus steamed rice - and one of the dishes (which we had to chase twice with two different servers) didn't appear until we were almost done with everything else. The rice was also dropped off our order initially. The ambiance is a bit cheesy with over the top chandeliers that a friend jokes looked like macaroni art, and these crystal and metallic flowers on the walls. A giant LED/TV screen is located on the stage. The large dining room is bright and would seat a decent-sized wedding celebration. The wall leading to the kitchen is covered with built-in tanks for the live seafood - a massive display (different seafood in each tank) compared to other Cantonese restaurants that would usually have 2-3 tanks only. We ordered 4 dishes: 1. Chestnut Chicken & Veggies: strong flavour. Heavier on the saltiness. Good with plain rice. 2. Dried Scallops, Gluten with Snow Pea Shoots: Excellent veggies dish! Good portion too. Highly recommend. 3. Aladdin Sweet & Sour Pork (SSP) with Blueberries: Hilarious name due to the dish looking like it sits on a "magic carpet" -- a thin fried sheet of dough paper. The sheet isn't crunchy as it looks, when eating. I dropped it after trying a bite. The SSP was decent. Could be a bit crunchier. The accompanying blueberries (never heard/seen of this on a plate of SSP!) actually works, bell peppers were good, and the pineapple was excellent. 4. Chinese BBQ platter of Cha Siu & Roast Duck. Friends unanimously recommended Cha Siu. And we added the duck. Both were fantastic. The duck had incredibly crispy skin and the meat was tender. Complimentary dessert served: red bean dessert soup, and a plate of almond cookies (fresh, flavourful and crunchy) and a coffee pudding of sorts. Overall I was happy with the food and would return to try other dishes. Presentation was nice. The service could do better though.

Yelp
I've been searching for a good restaurant with live fish, and was delighted with Skyview Fusion. All of the food we had was piping hot and fresh. The snow pea leaves were a little old but still good; shrimp and scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly--silky eggs; free range chicken was silky and delicious. Only complaint is that it didn't have as good of wok hay as Congee Queen. We went for an early dinner and service was attentive and accommodating. Comfortable seating and well lit. Looking forward to returning next time.

Yelp
I haven't been going for dim sum as often as I used to but this was worth the wait! Skyview Fusion is one of the better places I've been to. We went late in the afternoon, when it was relatively quiet. The last time I was here, during their peak time, we waited over an hour for a table. It was worth it! This time around, we took advantage of their Dungeness Crab special. It's been a while since I've had Dungeness Crab and this was so good, the highlight of our meal! Other dishes that we enjoyed, included Siu Mai, Curry Baby Octopus, Sticky Pork Dumplings, and Pork and Veggie Dumplings Chiu Chow Style. Everything was delicious!

Yelp
Skyview is very busy at lunch for dim sum. If you don't know them, even you reserved a table, please expect to wait. But their dim sum is good, specially the bbq rice!!! I didn't go for a while because not worth to wait. My friend wants to have roasted suckling pig for her birthday, we decided to go there. Honestly, the Suckling pig for me is the best of the town. But the rest of the food are very so so. The worst is the Peking duck...see my pictures and feel it yourself. Many places have better quality. Anyways, so far so good. I will only go when I want sucking pig, lol Price are fare and service is ok too! Finally, suckling pig must try or pre order when you reserve the table. Lunch only go when you have time to wait, dinner is ok, not busy.

Yelp
I went for dimsum and the person at the front desk would give tables for people she knows or is familiar with instead of following the numbers on the list. We waited an hour for a table of 4, when we finally got our table, the lady from the front desk changed our table from a private room to the open lobby table for someone she knew. The taste for the food was okay. The scallop dumpling came broken and the rest was okay. The bbq pork/ charsiu puff was stuffed with a lot of ginger instead of pork, in fact, I did not taste the pork. The rice roll was meh.

Yelp
Wanted to visit and try their BBQ pork 4.99 special but found out the promotion was no longer valid (visited July 27). Although the bbq pork promo ended, we still placed an order and it didn't disappoint; super tender and generous porks of pork and rice. Would recommend the bbq pork over the dim sum.

Yelp
Came here around 8:45am before it opened. By the time 9am rolled around, there was a giant line to get inside. We got in and got seated, provided tea and the menus. We ordered fairly easily and everything came at a steady pace. The spare ribs were really good here! Highly recommend to try this spot but make sure to come before opening so that you get a spot.

Yelp
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT COME HERE ON A NATIONAL HOLIDAY for dimsum. The last time we tried to get a table here during Family Day, we waited 2hrs and then gave up. Some crazy stuff happened as Asian grannies and mamas were losing it and screaming at the hostess. Something was down in their kitchen (hence slower service), but it was irresponsible to let families with children still wait instead of just turning them away. People had reservations and were waiting a long time. I am so thankful to my sibling for braving the wait and standing the whole time while the rest of us were chilling around nearby. The waiting area is full of people especially during the holidays, so it's hard to get a seat during the prime times. She got to witness the whole catastrophe but even though I wasn't witnessing it first hand, I saw her recordings of what went down. It was a giant waste of time for a day off, so we ending up eating elsewhere the first time. Maybe it's just that one time... If you try to go during a holiday, good luck, I've already warned you. This most recent visit we actually got in, we went with a reservation on a regular weekend at around 10:30am and still had to wait maybe 10-20mins. It gets even busier later. That's the sign of authenticity... the service and how they handle the wait is about 1-2 star, depending on the day. But the dim sum is decent. I've only been here for dimsum. They have some unique dim sum items, and I'll gladly go again, but I'll avoid this place like a plague during the holidays. My new fav is their eel and avocado rice roll. I haven't had it anywhere else. The egg yolk sesame rice balls are also quite good. The Siu mai's are like on steroids and at least 1.5x times the regular size. I would say the E-fu noodles are probably the least impressive of the dishes we ordered and I had better elsewhere (despite the thumbs up on the menu). All the Asian families seem to flock to this gem during peak times, and honestly not worth the wait for me. For the ups and downs, I think 3.5 star is an accurate assessment. TIP: Order all your desserts with your meal to avoid a 30 min wait towards the end. We decided to add a steamed layered cake and it took much longer than expected. I would think cakes are premade already?! I can confirm that this is owned by the same Dragonboat organization from the prior review from speaking with the manager. I think they are going to open another restaurant with that name. Also their steamer baskets all are labelled with that Dragonboat logo.

Yelp
I give 5 to food and 4.5 for overall. This is one of my favourite restaurant as the food is good and it is next to Costco( convenient to shop to Costco after dim sum) . It is highly recommend to book your table in advance any time. If not, it may take 30-90 minutes to get the table in the weekend ( I am the one for this latest visit). That's one of the reason I don't give 5 stars. Overall the food is very good. BBQ Pork with rice or noodle is a must order dish. If you go dim sum and no BBQ pork rice available yet, order BBQ pork in rice roll then. Food here is 5 star. Parking lot belongs to that restaurant is not enough for that busy restaurant. I need to park in Costco as I will also shop over there after dim sum. Washroom is ok.

Yelp
This place was ok for dim sum. The shrimp dumplings and siu mais are HUGE. Would recommend getting their turnip cake and durian tarts!! The durian tart was the best part of the meal. Skip the cumin lamb rice rolls..the cumin overpowers everything. The cha siu puff pastry was also way too gingery.

Yelp
The portions here are HUGE. HUUUUUUUUGE. No wonder the prices are what they are. :) And they had very interesting combos! Everything was delicious and tasty. We ordered too much and we had to take so much home b/c we ordered too much. My cousin brought us here and told us that this location is super busy all the time. That says alot! The food is so good that the place is always packed! We didn't have a single bad dish here. the fish tanks were clean and bright. That made me feel better :)

Yelp
3.5 stars dim sum 4 stars service and ambience Baked BbQ pork puff pastry--oops we meant to order the baked bbq pork bun (which is actually under the "steamed" dim sum category and not under "baked") --nevertheless, the pastry was light and flaky, the bbk pork is not fatty!, soft and beautiful flavored. I assume it's the same filling as the bun version. Will order the bun next time Har gow-- uber large portion. Mild flavored. I don't know whether I enjoyed it as much. Big shrimp inside, yes, but the flavor? Mediocre Siu mai (pork) -- same as hargow. Large, fluffy, while you can tell it's better quality ingredient, imo it's a bit lackluster in terms of flavor. Chicken feet -- light flavoring, huge claws! For our personal preference we'd have preferred them braised a bit longer. Pork and veggie dumpling chiu chow style -- Got this based from other reviews-- light, clean flavor. Veggies are chopped in cubes and are crunchy. It was a nice contrast to other rich dishes. Would likely skip it next time and order a veggies dish instead Shrimp rice rolls -- soft, thin noodles which is a plus. We enjoyed the pea leaves in there as we don't get veggies in the rice rolls much from where we came from. Light flavored sauce. Two Huge shrimp each. Sticky rice wrapped in lotus leave with chicken-- the sticky rice is well steamed and very soft. Once again, very mild flavored lacking much of anything inside. Steamed Molten salted egg bun -- Meh, nothing "molten" about it. Overcooked bun with mediocre filling. Would not get it again. Eight items with Oolong tea for two came down to $69 before tip. Lots of leftover for the two of us Service-- excellent in terms of dim sum standard. Ambience -- clean, bright& airy, not too loud in the room we were seated. Huge chandeliers and oddly position flower wall sculptures throughout. Standard for nicer dim sum place. Clean bathroom. (Although we came before the rush) All in all we read very exciting blog about this place naming it one of the best dim sum out here in GTA. I don't know if we're crazy or not but we've had fair share of dim sum in many places throughout the world and this is fairly clean ingredients but not memorable in terms of flavor. If you're into portion though this place offer HUGE dim sum per dish which might be great for big parties. If we ever decided to return it will be to try Chef's specials after 11am.

Yelp
I have no stars to give!! Only have a one star review because it was the only way to get this review posted! Don't bother making a reservation- it has no value!! Our party had a reservation for dim sum this afternoon and were very disappointed regarding the way in which we were treated and the lack of respect this establishment seems to have for its customers and their time. After an hour of waiting for the hostess to even have the time or attention to acknowledge our party- we gave up and left completely ruining our plans with our group for the day. The hostess was very rude and shooing people away while also not communicating very well with anyone. Many people who walked in were provided a number and those with reservations were told they did not need a number- yet only numbers were being called and those with reservations seemed to be disregarded. It was the most bizarre experience we have had especially considering we had a reservation. We will not be returning despite the fact we have heard amazing things about the food as we have also tried to dine here before (without a reservation) and were turned away. Apparently, no reservation today was a bit different.
