Don’t let the brewing name deter you away especially on Thursday- Sunday mornings if you’re looking for a place to relax and do work. My husband and I were looking for a place to be able to get some coffee drinks, free Wifi and a place to get some work done and Slackers Brewing totally fit the bill. In the mornings to late afternoon on Thursday - Sunday they have a separate coffee/cafe menu outside of their usual brewery menu and we were actually impressed because they take pride in how they do their coffee drinks. I got a London fog latte and the server who helped us not only put a timer to make sure the tea steeped for correct amount of time, but steeped the tea in glass tea maker. They also have alternative milks so I got my London fog with oat milk and it was perfect amount of sweetness and I could taste the vanilla. The inside consists of many green picnic benches and there were plenty of outlets to plug in your laptop if you needed. The Wifi was free and strong. They also have 2 outdoor patio areas, one right in front and one in back that mainly is next to the back of all the stores but if you have a dog it’s nice you have an option to bring your dog if you need a dog friendly patio. I also absolutely loved how kid friendly this bar is! They have a separate kid play area, paper and pencils on the table if you want to draw and a separate mother’s room next to the bathrooms. Parking is easy and free since located in strip mall. It shares the same parking lot as Interstellar barbecue!

Found this place by accident and saw the reviews on food were pretty good. We ordered 2 sandwiches and they were right, yummy. Non-beer drinkers have choices besides water. The facility itself isn't all that inviting, though. We started outside in the back but the flying bugs were too much so we went to the front entrance and sat outside, which was much better. The seats are pretty much all picnic benches. The inside looks run down and restaurant stuff is all over the place by the kitchen/ bar area. Just cluttered which makes it not feel all that clean. There is a play area for the kids, games, and looks like they may have music on occasion. Not sure I would go back, but it looks like it has a neighborhood following, which is always a plus.

Slackers Brewing Co is a really fun place in Austin. The coffee was great and the staff were super friendly and easy to talk to. There is a lot to do while you are there. They have board games, books, TVs, and plenty of tables to sit and relax. I really appreciated the kids’ play area and the mother’s room. It shows the owners actually thought about families and made this a space for everyone. The souvenir section is a nice touch too and adds personality to the place. You can tell the owners care about the space and the people who come in. It feels like a community spot where you can hang out without feeling rushed. I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to others.

Good selection of drinks at a reasonable price. Staff was very welcoming and the entertainment was fantastic. The musician was personable and had no issues with taking requests! Highly recommended as a great after work wind down location!

This is one of the most thoughtful, friendly, and laid back places I have been to in Austin. They have created a space that is incredibly unique, and I didn't know I needed, let alone that exists. Lots of non-alcohic options, great food, and a diverse but not overwhelming selection of beer.

Awesome Place. Derek, the owner is over the top. This place is really FAMILY OWNED & FAMILY FRIENDLY. Hand crafted brews with several amazing flavors. This place rocks. His wife Haley is in charge of the menu artwork and marketing. Love this Place. ❤️

Loved this place, it really feels like an extension of someone's backyard get-together. They host local events and create a welcoming kid-friendly atmosphere (complete with play area). The beer was awesome, I got two flights to try them all since I was so curious. The owner was there with his own family, and I am always happy to support a small local business that started as someone's passion. Keep it up!

Awesome home brew made fresh by the owners, and great food. Tuesday is vinyl night. They got a monthly musical jam you can join in on. What's not to love?

I must say, I didn't plan on day drinking, but when I saw their sign to-go beer, while waiting in hours long line for Interstellar BBQ, I knew my say was about to get even better. I took the short walk over, across the parking lot and was greeted by two kind individuals. Not sure who they were, but I had a good conversation with them and shared some laughs before I got my cider and left. Now let me tell you, the line was so long, that I had to, I HAD to go back and get more drinks, both for myself and my mom who was also in line with me. Upon returning, there was live music being set up which would've been nice. The inside seems pretty bare and has a very small kids play area, which I suppose would be appreciated by parents, but it also very much looked like an afterthought. The drinks were good and the staff were nice. I could see myself coming back here a time or two if I lived in the area.

First and foremost, the business pride here is great. The owner Derek's passion for his beer and his business are top notch. He absolutely deserves praise for his charisma and dedication. The moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed and asked our story, told his story, and given samples of the beers. Derek's pride in those brews is evident in a delightful way that we so rarely get to see in business owners, post-pandemic. Slackers is a little hidden spot with a very nice indoor atmosphere that my husband and I felt was inviting. Unfortunately when we were there, the business was out of their IPAs which is entirely how my husband makes his beer decisions. However, the owner mentioned that he'd be bringing additional brews in for the fall, which we initially planned to come back and check out when the weather reliably cools down. For me, our choices have more to do with a balance between food, drink, and atmosphere. I want to acknowledge that the menu has a variety of choices (pizzas, paninis, pretzels, tots, chips/queso, veggies/hummus), and a rather impressive kids menu, considering the beer focus, which makes it clear that they want this to be a family place and neighborhood go-to bar. The food is decent, but the focus here is definitely on the beer, and that's fine! I think the only negative side to the level of service is that the food and drink options didn't quite live up to the hype. He talked to us A LOT (maybe a little too much) and really over-sold the quality of the food. There was also a heavy conversational emphasis on their "membership" which is $200 and allows you to come in and grab a daily beer all year long, which "pays for itself after 17 visits" according to him. If we were daily bar-goers, I imagine this might sound appealing, but we only frequent a small number of spots, and those are places we have cravings for. Living in Austin, there are so many choices constantly raising expectation levels for quality, and the ones we frequent most are for family meals where drinks are a bonus, so an annual membership at a place like this just isn't for us. The food at Slackers is okay, but it's not something we would return for specifically. We had the Italian sausage pizza with fresh mozzarella and red pepper flakes and the loaded tots with cashew queso and jalapeños. Between the two of us we had a Hefelump, a James Brown, and a couple of Milkmans. We spent around $60 with tip. It took me a long time to write a review because I struggled with sharing feelings about the place due to the level of attention shown to us during our visit. The owner was so enthusiastic and friendly with us when we walked in which was great... but it continued at our table, multiple times, even preventing us from digging into a hot pizza that he had set down in front of us. I remember thinking to myself that I really just wanted to catch up with my husband about our long workdays and eat our meal. The owner definitely cares about how people view the business, to the point of even saying that he strives to receive 5-star reviews and doesn't believe that customers should rate less than 5 stars unless there's "something wrong." I don't think a business owner should ever engage in conversation that makes guests feel pressured to review a certain way, or that the only reason not to receive 5 stars is if something is wrong. That's the point tho... 5 stars aren't just for when nothing is wrong -- 5 stars are for when you can't wait to go back to a place because it's SO good you would go out of your way to return. 4 stars are for good solid establishments that are repeatably enjoyable, and 3 stars are for average good places that were totally fine, but maybe just don't warrant returning. Slackers is a good neighborhood bar. A friendly one. A family-oriented one. Given its proximity to our house, we probably would have come back to check out the IPAs and other food, but we go to places to catch up with each other and enjoy a quick meal, and for those things, Slackers just isn't calling our name. Because of how much he loves his business, I initially felt bad being honest about the experience, but I hope this feedback is appreciated and serves as helpful. It is, after all, only one opinion.

We were looking for something new to try and this popped up. We had seen and heard great things. The beer selection however was not what we were looking for as they didn't have one sour beer. We were kinda of surprised and there's a lot of local sour brewery's and options to choose from. We ended up getting a cider it was okay. Wouldn't order it again. We ordered the tots which I think was the best thing we tried . Tots's were crispy and the cashew queso was very flavorful with a hint of Smokey flavor -5/5 The grilled cheese we got was okay but needed something acidic to make the flavors come together. 3.5/5 We also tried the pesto pizza which again hit all the marks however it was 12$ for a small pizza that was appetizer size - flavor 5/5 , quantity compared to price 3/5. The staff wasn't too welcoming (3/5) They did have live music and the lady up there was extremely talented! I would give them another chance if I'm the area however I'm not sure I would go out of my way again just based on service and beer selection .

Small but mighty beer menu from a local family owned brewery. Perfect for grabbing a to go beer while standing in line for Interstellar BBQ!

Walked into this small little hole in the wall brewery and I must say you must visit this place! Great, super chill atmosphere awesome bartenders who were friendly and recommended great drinks and the beer is on point. They serve vegan food so they accommodate all food types and they have indoor and outdoor seating so if you want to light up a cigarette, just go out back. Put this on your visit brewery list.

You are going to have a hard time finding another place that has an indoor kid area, great beer, and genuinely great people. Slackers is hidden inside a shopping center, and if you didn't know it was there, you would probably drive right by. The owner is typically always there, sitting behind the bar, being as friendly as can be. The beer tastes great, and they even have a stage for music and a back outdoor patio. The indoor kid area could use an update (and a cleaning) but I'm in no place to complain as I sit here, enjoying my beer.

Got a growler of All Yalls Hazy IPA and the beer tasted watered down. They also charge $24 for a 64oz growler which is the most expensive Growler I have got in Austin. This used to be my go to joint to get a Growler filled but looks like its time to find another joint.

We went to Slackers Brewing on a whim today and it was a great experience. First off, the beer is good. Their milk stout is worth a pour or two. I also had a flight of various beers that did not disappoint. I'm not usually a Hefeweizen fan but this one hit the spot. Later in our visit, one of the owners came by and offered tasters of beers and chatted with us about his brewing process. The ghost pepper beer he offered is worth a try: it doesn't try to destroy your mouth and offers a dark beer taste which is unusual for a pepper beer. The tasting room has games and our kid enjoyed the time we spent there. No complaints about the kids pizza either. 100% would go back. Enjoy!

Absolutely love this place- friendly atmosphere, great beers and a super helpful staff...a great thing when there are unfamiliar beers to try!

I was a fan of their beer and the staff was super friendly. It was a lively neighborhood vibe and is super kid friendly including a dedicated kid space / play area. I must admit though, for us it may have felt a little too kid focused so we only stayed for one round. (Now before you call me a grinch or Scrooge, the place is great, but we were just looking for a different vibe that day)

Great family friendly brewery! We were waiting in line for bbq and noticed there was a brewery in the same strip mall so we popped in afterwards. Not a lot of beers on tap (6 of their own), but they are done extremely well. My favorites were the Black Kolsch (Night Jorts) and the Belgian Dubble (Doobeltrooble). They seemed basically perfect to me in their traditional styles. They also had a Voodoo Ranger, an Independence brew, and a cider on tap from other establishments. Definitely a great place if you're craving a beer and have your kids. They have a play area and paper and crayons, books, board games, and a foosball table. All play areas are right next to and clearly visible wherever you are seated so you can keep an eye on your little ones. They also offer a small menu of family friendly food options for very reasonable prices and they do have some items like the graze boxes centered more for adults. They also serve coffee which is a great plus for parents, tired adults, and people that do not want to drink alcohol. Lots of places to sit on the green picnic tables and they have a mini stage setup for live music nights and they have merchandise available to buy. They also had a small wall of beautiful stained glass art for sale by the men and women's bathrooms towards the back. It was a rainy day so they had the front curtains closed which made it pretty dark in there. They have a few tvs above the bar that were playing the sports all games of the day on mute and they had a mixed genre playlist going overhead. The aesthetic looks and feels like a sports bar. They have strong, free Wi-Fi, the password is canadiantuxedo and they have it posted around so you don't have to search or ask for it. I noticed that their brewing tanks were named which I think is a very cute touch! As a couple without kids it wasn't our ideal vibe and can get quite loud with kids running around which is why I'm giving a lower score as well as the limited amount of house brewed beers. They are newer brewery (2021) and I look forward to visiting again if we're in the neighborhood.

We waited until Slackers released their own brews to visit. It's great to have another brewpub open in the CP area. Slackers is located hard off 620 in the same strip mall as Interstellar BBQ.Hmmmm BBQ & beer, OK. Slackers currently have 3 Slacker brews available and a slew of local and not so local taps. Their Belgium lager is a perfect beer to sip on a sunny day. Round 2 was a Brooklyn amber lager. This brought back memories of our NYC trip and discovering the Brooklyn Brewery. This is a great representation of what an amber beer should be. There are alternatives to beer such as wine. Got the munchies they have you covered. Check out their menu online. The brewpub is very welcoming with a bar area and plenty of seating. Games are available and even a foosball table. Outside there are a few picnic benches where you can enjoy the sunshine and bring your mutt. Folks on both sides of the bar are friendly and if you are there for more than 10 minutes you are engaged in a conversation with a fellow pubster (sic) One nit servers should be able to answer questions regarding their guest taps. A solid 4 plus stars and Slackers is now in our brewpub rotation. Support Local!

Went there last night, the place is awesome! Currently they don't have their own beer, supply issues but they have some amazing Austin, Texas and other craft beers. Family friendly spot (a kids play area with kitchen and all!!),good music playlist and eventually some live music. They just have snacks right now but eventually said they'll have a menu. Oh yah and coffee too. We got to meet Derek and his wife, the owners. This is such a great spot to go and work or to relax at after work! Will definitely be back and can't wait to watch this business grow. We were having so much fun I forgot to take pictures! I'll update with pictures next time I go.

What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I trekked up to Cedar Park to close on our new home and needed our traditional celebration beer for such a momentous occasion. After a quick search, we found this gem. We were excited for beer, then immediately saddened to see they were closed for a private event. But wait! They allowed us to order on the side and let us hang on their outdoor tables (yes they were outdoor in a strip mall parking lot but don't let the exterior fool you). The beer we had was tasty but then the owner/manager/someone cool regaled us with their beer inspirations and we were hooked. We sampled some Belgians and IPAs and can't wait to trek all the way from south Austin back to Slackers. It will be well worth the trip.

We had a retirement party at Slackers and it turned out wonderful! The food and drinks were perfect.

Great food and attentive and friendly staff. Family friendly relaxed. Cool Brews with something new every week. Favorite place to go out for the last 2 years...go regularly and never disappointed. Just wish I had more time to go more often.

Great family friendly place! Come here and enjoy beer and easy bites while having your kiddos entertained at the same time. They have a toddler area with a little kitchen. They also have stuff for older kids like paper and crayons, games and books even a foosball table. The bathrooms are so clean and equipped with changing tables too. We were so impressed.

Gotta love a family owned business!! Slackers has great beers on tap, and I love that they have coffee!! Service is always great! Love that it's located on 620. Parking is pretty good. I enjoy the lighting and the stage set up. Always enjoy checking out live music at Slackers and having a chill spot for a beer close to home.

Great place to catch a - good food around there but can't bring any inside the brewery like some breweries do... Heard they have good food there. Next time maybe That said...if you come with kids, they do have a small kids play are which was a pleasant surprise! Yay! Gave us a little break to enjoy the beer, uninterrupted Overall: we'll be back!

Decent neighborhood spot with decent beer. Untappd brought us here. After sampling the kolsch (not my personal fave), I went in with the blonde. Hubs went with an IPA, which was good & hoppy.

Where can you get a couple of high-quality local craft beers with your spouse AND keep your little one entertained? You've found the place! I'm a big fan of the Wicked Tickle (spicy, dark and literally tickles the mouth on the way down!). You can feel the community-centered culture as soon as you walk in the door.

Came here today and loved the vibe. Chill atmosphere and they had live music on Saturday night. Also a great variety of beer! There's a little kids section for parents who want a drink and a place for the kids to play too. Overall a nice little brewery tucked in 620. Will be coming here more!!

Beer is great. Menu items are varied and delicious. The owner and employees here are very friendly and attentive. Slackers seems very kid friendly with kid menu items and a small play area. Can't wait to come back again with my little one :)

Went to Slackers after a manager outing. The place cam highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The staff is amazing!! Very knowledgeable and happy to be there. There is a sense of belonging when you arrive. We even got a little behind the scenes tour of how they brew beer. A hidden gem, give them a try. We look forward to going back.

Great staff, fantastic environment, beer is amazing, and the coffee is so good! I recommend coming on Wednesday nights for trivia! Jae is a treat. :)
