Slate Cafe Midtown

Really good cafe other than the loud music and occasional noise from the barista working space. We ordered a sandwich and a salad bowl, both of which were yummy and healthy (or so we hoped ;)). Service was friendly, professional, and quick. Price was normal for Manhattan. Other patrons were quite decent. Decor wasn’t too bad.

Cute little cafe sitting on the corner of the street. It was quite busy for a late Monday morning, but we were able to find a seat. We ordered at the counter, and the food and drinks arrived quite fast after we ordered. The mushroom scramble was good, but the portion was quite small for how much it cost. The breakfast pizza was well seasoned and the egg on top was perfectly cooked.

Had an amazing stop at Slate Café. The bacon scrambled were spot‑on, the lemon ginger tea was soothing, and the latte was sooooo good. Service was excellent from start to finish. In our experience, this place is an absolute must‑visit.

The name "Slate" caught my eye while walking along the avenue and so I did a double-take because of the billiards hall by the same name. Once I saw the coffee and café part of the signage I had to stop in. So glad I did. The espresso was just how I like it... "squeeze the bean strong." And the "Pesto BLT" was outstanding. Great place for a bite to eat. We had the Granola bowl and the Egg and bacon brioche bun, which was full of flavour. The Aioli was delicious.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast and coffee. The service was excellent, friendly and pleasant. The food was excellent, made fresh to order. I had the granola and yogurt. It was served with berries in the bottom and on top with plenty of granola. It was the perfect amount of ingredients so I could get all in one bite without having a ton of plain yogurt left in the bowl. The other dishes were good, eggs cooked well and the greens were fresh. Coffee was good, not bitter. I loved the atmosphere, fun location.

This is such a lovely place to get breakfast lunch or even both. I got the mushroom egg scramble and it was delicious. Also, their employees are very kind and the service is fantastic.

Bright, sunny place in Midtown East, so sit down and enjoy the fresh and tasty bowls and plates. I recommend scrambled eggs and mushrooms or a breakfast sandwich with lox. But really anything you’d order here is delicious!
