The Most Exciting — Or Infuriating — Twin Cities Restaurant Trends of 2023 | Eater Twin Cities

"I’ve been struck by how quickly new Twin Cities restaurants like Slice Brothers have been expanding; that explosion from one location to four or five (or more!) gives me hope that our cities may be moving into a peaceful post-pandemic period." - Eater Staff

All the New Restaurant Openings in Minneapolis and St. Paul | Eater Twin Cities

"After debuting its flagship in Northeast Minneapolis less than a year ago, Slice opened a second location at Midtown Global Market on July 20; run by friends Adam Kado and Hosie Thurmond, it’s the city’s first Black-owned pizzeria and sells full pizzas for takeout and delivery—like a pineapple chicken combo and The Meats—as well as traditional New York–style slices, with the pepperoni slice touted as a great $4 bet. Kado has said the impetus behind Slice is using business ownership to build generational wealth for communities of color." - Justine Jones

The Apostle Supper Club Opens At Duluth’s Radisson Hotel | Eater Twin Cities

"Inside Midtown Global Market on Lake Street, I learned that New York-style pizzeria Slice—which opened in Northeast Minneapolis last fall—is launching a new location with roughly three times the kitchen space to take larger orders and expand the menu; co-owners Adam Kado and Hosie Thurmond plan a Juneteenth soft opening and say they hope to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and business owners by combating economic oppression in the Black community." - Justine Jones

Slice Brothers is good at any location. Pickup was easy at the Midtown global market location. BBQ chicken is a featured flavor right now and it was good. Pineapple Chicken slice was loaded with pineapple, which is much appreciated. We enjoyed our order.

I really hate to do this, but they have left me no other choice. On 1/17/2025 I ordered delivery through their website. The delivery driver arrived carrying two pizzas SIDEWAYS in a plastic grocery bag. As you can imagine, the pizzas were a mangled mess. My kids would not eat it. Each slice was either naked or overloaded with cheese and toppings. They had sent an email asking how the delivery experience was. I provided feedback that it was terrible. I tried calling the restaurant but nobody has answered over the last 10 days. I sent an email on 1/21, with no response. This pizza is delicious, so they get 1 star for that. The lack of accountability is insane.

Waited 10 minutes after we already waiting 20min for the order to be ready. We then got the wrong sized pizza so we waited another 40min for the right pizza. When we got home and the pizza we waited over an hour for is completely RAW. We now have to cook the pizza at home (with no baking sheet). The workers couldn’t care less about this inconvenience and didn’t offer any type of discount, coupon for next time or nothing. This pizza is NOT cheap and yet it feels like after this experience it should be. Their NE location was good but it seems like it shut down. I will not be back until the NE location reopens and I strongly URGE you to do the same. Unless this type of experience sounds like fun to you.

We ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas through DoorDash. Our dasher notified us that when he arrived about , 30-40 minutes after we first ordered through the app, that they had not started our order and it would be 10-20 minutes until it was complete. Long after we ordered, we finally received our pizzas. One was barely edible and the other inedible as it was underbaked and was raw in places. We couldn’t even pick up a slice of pizza without the dough ripping since it was so raw. In order to even be edible, we would have to cook the pizza in the oven. We have been customers for years, but this is our final straw. The quality is so unpredictable and lately we are receiving more bad orders than good. I will no longer be ordering from Slice Brothers. Buyers beware.

Google
I used to love Slice Brothers but not any more. I ordered pizzas for pickup via their web site on 8/23/25 and was disappointed to find their restaurant unstaffed and empty when I went to pick them up despite having the order confirmed and and charged to me. My messages to management via their web site and Toast Local app have had no response. When I went to their restaurant in person later in the week, an employee confirmed they were closed the whole day on 8/23/25 and wished me luck trying to get the charges refunded.

Google
I love pizza. I love pizza by the slice. This place does that! $5 for a slice as big as a plate. Today I got a chicken bacon ranch slice. Usually I go for pepperoni as it never lets me down but I wanted to switch it up today. The crust was buttery and crispy. It folded in half just the way I like it after I dashed on some red pepper flakes. You can buy Whole pizza if you like I just didn't look into that today.

Their pickled pizza is the best! Never have had bad service either. Been here at least half a dozen times. Good atmosphere. Midtown Global Market is awesome and tons of other selections.

Pizza = cardboard. Garlic Knots = purposeful false advertisement. I request a refund as soon as I saw them but was refused. The employee only said “no”.
