Slice House by Tony Gemignani Expanding to San Diego | Eater San Diego

"A spinoff of one of San Francisco’s most famous pizza palaces that is currently on a franchising tear, Slice House is a fast-casual chain spawned by acclaimed pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani. The menu reflects Gemignani’s breadth—Neapolitan, New York, Sicilian, Detroit, and grandma-style pizzas are all represented—and he’s not a traditionalist with toppings, offering options like barbecue, chicken bacon ranch, and Hawaiian; other menu items include salads, pasta, and sub sandwiches. The chain already includes multiple locations in the San Diego area and is confirmed to be opening restaurants in Little Italy and La Jolla, with four additional locations planned for greater San Diego County." - Candice Woo

Really good pizza, good atmosphere, and they serve alcoholic drinks ! This location has a small indoor dining and large outdoor dining area which is perfect for larger parties I’ve gone to two other locations, Tony’s in San Fran and pizza rock in Las Vegas. Was super excited to hear Tony opened a location in San Diego. Wasn’t disappointed, definitely recommend, incomparable to other pizza spots in Little Italy 🇮🇹

4 stars for Slice House in Little Italy — easily in my top three pizza spots in San Diego, and I’m no stranger to a slice (my pizza loyalty card is basically maxed out). Every pie and slice I’ve tried here has been a straight-up win — crisp crust, great toppings, and that perfect cheese-to-sauce ratio. Absolutely worth stopping by if you’re in the area, and if you live nearby, I’d be shocked if this place isn’t already part of your regular pizza rotation.

Amazing pizza here! We got “The Traditional”(Sicilian with pepperoni and sausage), a New York cheese and a New York with pepperoni. All were delicious. My wife loved the cheese (she said something about it reminded her of Barone’s in the Valley). The Sicilian was my favorite with crunchy thick crust. The sauce on all was exactly the way we like it - a good flavor without being too overbearing. All in all a great experience. We will definitely be back.

Saw this place had massive slices and wanted to try it. I ended up getting a slice of the Grandma Sweet Gino (Sweet Tomato Sauce, Sliced & Ovoline Mozzarella, Basil & Sea Salt). One of the better pizza slices I have eaten. The dough was crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. The tomato sauce was sweet but still bold in flavor. Really enjoyed my slice. Also for ordering it is quite straight forward. Just order at the counter and then you get a buzzer when your food is ready.

Found my new favorite pizza spot! If you’re a crispy, cheesy, crust lover, this place is for you. Slices are between $6-8. They offer New York (thin crust), Detroit (deep dish crispy cheese crust), Sicilian (thick focaccia crust), and Grandma (pan-fried thin crust) style pizzas. You can order ahead of time or stop in for a slice or two. They have indoor seating and lots of tables and chairs outside. We tried several slices and my personal favorite was the Detroit style; although there was something special about all of them. The servers were very kind and friendly. They offer happy hour Monday-Friday from 3-5 and specialty daily pizzas. We will definitely be back for more pizza very soon. All hail Tony Gemignani!

We make the drive down to San Diego on occasion. Off my diet and tried this pizza place. Delicious! The Rosa was the pizza of the day, a Detroit-style with white cheddar and pepperoni, among other ingredients. Fantastic, cheesy crust. Also tried the America's Finest, which my wife loved. She appreciated the less-salty taste. We also tried the Gemelli With Pesto Sauce. It's unapologetically pesto, which my daughter was new to. She found it a bit tangy, which I found to be delicious. More for me~ I topped it off with a cannoli with sprinkles, which my daughter very much helped devour. Very nice, chill atmosphere at night. I recommend it for sure~ There's a pizza style for everyone and while you can order the standard pizza types, their more eclectic varieties make it worth the trip! Totally fair prices, too.

Holy crap this pizza is delicious! I had a slice of the Wise Guy -perfect balance of sweet and spice. Friend had the Sweet Gino Detroit style - equally loved. Brought another slice home that looked just as good! Highly recommend and will definitely be back for a slice or whole pizza!

After dining here, all I hope is that we get more locations of Slice House in San Diego. You can taste that they use quality ingredients, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and excited to share their recommendations. So pleased I also tried the pasta and salad, because I would order them again as well.
