Yelp
Pizza joints nowadays are a dime a dozen.
And....
I. FREAKIN. LOVE. IT.
Here is why.
As new pizza places come to town, often times that pizza place might claim that they have the best pies, and/or that their crust is better than the next guys.
It may sound something like this...
(In my best New York accent)
"Gino's pizzeria in South Bronx has the best pies this side of Naples and If you don't believe me, I'll break your fuc..."
Fuhgeddaboudit!!
Other times, it's the word of mouth from the locals that generates all the buzz & hype.
It probably sounds something like this...
"Oh my gawd Susie, did you hear about Giovanni's Pizza Mozza coming to town? Their original location is in Downtown Detroit and it's hands down the best pizza I've ever had".
Side Note:
Susie is not real.
Giovanni's Pizza Mozza is not real.
& as Creed Bratton from the Office would say,
"You're not real man."
And sometimes the battle of being the Best Pie has EVERYTHING to do with what style of pizza is being served.
Regionally, here is typically how it goes:
-New Yorkers want their pies big, thin, and simple.
(Basically a huge slice with loads of gooey cheese that you can fold in half and make into a taco) (Don't You dare ask for Pineapple)
-The people of Chicago have their own style: Thick & Deep.
(I've yet to go to Chi town, but it's on my radar)
-Detroit: why be a circle, when you can be a Square!
(This style is life changing!)
Neapolitan or Sicilian: I mean c'mon, Any pizza from the Motherland is a no brainer.

With All that being said....
Welcome to the SLICE HOUSE 1000 Oaks!
Being the Best is Subjective...
but being amongst the Best is definitely Objective!
And that's just what Chef Tony Gemignami is all about.
Chef Tony has a laundry list of various restaurants & pizza places that are making headlines and winning tons of awards.
A short list includes, but is not limited to:
-Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco
-Pizza Rock's (in Vegas & CA)
-Little Tony's (Vegas)
-Tony's of North Beach (CA)
And of course multiple Slice House locations including Thousand Oaks, CA.
Chef Tony has won countless awards, and a lot of them are 1st Place.
As of 2023, the Top 100 Pizzerias in the world are ranked and Chef Tony's Pizza Napoletana was #19 (in the Top 20) which proves he and his restaurants that fall under his name are Amongst the Best!
What is crazy, but not surprising to me is...
FORTY ONE of the One Hundred are pizza places that are from you guessed it...
Italy!!!
Word of Mouth: When Slice House first arrived in Thousand Oaks, I heard the buzz from friends, and even on social media, thus what made me want to come here.
Pizza Styles: What I love about Slice House is their options, not only in regards to their toppings, but in regards to the styles of pizza they serve.
-You want a Slice Of New York? Hello from the Big Apple!
-Wanna "Lose Yourself Like Eminem"? Welcome to Detroit!
-Missing your Own Grandma? Come try a slice of their "Grandma"
-Need an offer from the Godfather you can't refuse? Half Sheet of Sicilian comin' up!
Point is...
Slice House has everything going for them to prove why they can hold their own amongst some of the best.
The space at this location is tight, lines can be long, but I assure you its worth the wait.
The day we went, we had a Cheesy Slice of New York, A Traditional Sicilian and the "Wise Guy" (Slice Sauce, Avorio Mozzarella, Spicy Sausage, Pepperoni, Ricotta, Green Onion, Tony's Chili Oil, Green Onion Again!! Oregano, Romano and Garlic Olive Oil)...
Not sure if the Green Onion listed on there menu twice is on accident or its the Wise Guy (me) who pointed it out. ;)
So, now that you read my 30 minute review...I know you're probably dying for some pizza.
Come see for yourself why the Slice House 1000 Oaks is the talk of the town.
