Pizza always looks good here and today I had a chance to try it. Wow it was delicious. The spicy pepperoni square and mushroom slice was delicious…. I would say as good maybe better than prince st. Give it a try when you visit Essex market

Google
I came to Slice Joint for a slice of Margherita Pizza. A corner is a perfect portion for a quick lunch. The crust is doughy. The toppings weren't enough. And I wished for a little more marina sauce.

Stopped in today with my friend and I tried it all! My favorite was the spicy square pepperoni. Their plain cheese was also fantastic. They were also testing out this sausage and honey slice which I loved. Stop in, enjoy, and tell Rachel I sent you. -@bobspizzatour

Honestly just don't like the pizza very much. Too expensive for the taste. But employees are great and it's always any easy option if you don't like the other options in the Market Line. Wheelchair accessible. Near Public restrooms.

I came to this place for the first time today and it was great. There is a nice small selection of pizza that looks and tastes just delicious. They are extremely friendly there, and welcoming to children. They even offered to cut up our slices into smaller pieces so my kiddos could enjoy their slices more easily. They are located in the lower level of the market line in the Essex market. I just love it there and we will definitely be back. Ps. Their cannoli is realllyy delicious.

Google
Decent NY style slice. A bit under sauced for my taste though. Also the cheese and/or sauce didn't have the usual NY style flavor I'm used to. Not sure why.

Google
Pretty tasty and chewy cheese slice at Essex Market lower level. With tax was $3.81 , I found a dark cool corner to eat it.on a very hot Sunday .

Good pizza. Thin crispy crust with a thin layer of sauce and cheese that Infuse into each other just like I like. Overall it's really good nyc pizza.

Yelp
This place was not even on my radar. Came here because my flight got canceled and this food hall opened late. I wasn't even hungry, but I got a slice to "fit in" as I sat at the table trying to figure my next best option to get home. I took a bite of my White Pizza... wow I was in shock. Pizza was amazing!!!! I have researched the best NYC pizza shops for years and this place was never on any list. It's a shame because they really deserve more love. Came for the wifi, but stayed for the pizza.

Yelp
A solid slice in a no fuss or pretentious setting. I had the Spicy Pepperoni Square. It was delightfully spicy. A good heated kick of Calabrian pepper in the sauce. The dough was slightly chewy with crispy cracking edges. The sprinkling of sesame seeds added a surprisingly good texture. Very satisfying. Good service too, friendly guy behind the counter.

Yelp
Although a pizza place the slices here are just awesome one of the best I've had in the city. What I liked about them is that their pizza is extremely flavourful I have tried both the mushroom square slice as well as the white pie, and both have been awesone. The sizes are pretty decent too. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This is simply a solid pizza. Not New York's best that is worthy of be on a magazine, but I keep on going back because it has a rather unique chew to the cheese, that I love and I can't really get anywhere else in NYC. The staff is also lovely, smiling, and super delightful Oh and yes, its part of a food hall, so you can wash it down with exciting options easily to your left and right.

Yelp
A great spot for a quick lunch at Essex Market. Service very good and quick. A bit pricier than the street "slice joints" but worth it. We had 2 slices of the pepperoni and the "pie of the day". With drinks and tip - damages were $23. Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Value 3/5 (average) Cleanliness 5/5 Noise 3/5 Decor 3/5

Yelp
The pizza here is solid. The square is really good. Good crunch and good caramelization around the edges. The white slice is really good as well. This will be my spot when I'm in LES and in the mood for pizza. One bite...White slice 8.1 Square 8.5 Regular slice 7.9. That's the review

Yelp
This place is really disappointing- order a spicy pepperoni; it was cold; asked for reheat; it was STILL cold...

Truman F.

Yelp
Decent slab for the price. Nothing remarkable. Honestly expected it to be more, given the placement in the market line. Super vibey place to hang out and lots of different options to try if you're not feeling some za.

Yelp
I know I reviewed slice joint less than a year ago, but I felt compelled to revisit the review even though my sentiments are basically the same. We were at Grand Delancey, and EVERY SINGLE TIME we are, we get pizza here (usually more than once during each visit). The spicy pepperoni square is in my top 3 slices period!! Their plain slice and the white pizza are also bomb. When you have an owner that clearly cares about the end product the customer is getting, and puts their heart and soul into that food, you are guaranteed something special. And every time I've had this pizza it has been nothing less. In a city with such great pizza, and in a neighborhood with a few gems not too far away, Slice Joint really manages to stand out. You shouldn't take my word for it. Just go find out for yourself. ENJOY!!!

Yelp
If you're going to be exploring the never-ending beer menu at the Grand Delancey next door, you'll definitely need some wholesome grub to pad your stomach first. Thankfully, Slice Joint is conveniently located steps away and can be eaten on site at the GD. We ordered the Spicy Square Pepperoni and the Square Cheese slice. The Square Cheese slice had a nice crunchy crust and a savory sauce. It was delicious. We took a slice home to reheat and it was even better then. The Spicy Square Pepperoni slice was quite the adventure. I thought that only the pepperoni were going to be spicy, but much to my surprise, the whole damn slice was! It's definitely not for the faint-of-heart. I had some regrets about halfway in, but I realized that was a kind of enjoyable pain. It ended up being my favorite slice from here. I'm no quitter, so I didn't leave any crumbs behind. TLDR: stop by, especially for the Spicy Square, with water close by.

Yelp
Returned to Slice Joint, where this time got a Detroit style cheese with sausage as a topping. The pizza was again top notch; crust had crispy edges & "memory-foam" soft interior, savory sauce & primo cheese with nice dairy flavor; sausage was also good quality with a touch of fennel. Slice Joint keeps up the good work.

Yelp
Just understand this place is within a food hall, which was good because I wasn't impressed with Slice Joint and I was able to get a "tofu bing" at a nearby vendor that was out of this world. They also had a great coffee shop. The problem with the Slice Pizza Joint was they had cold slices sitting out which is typical but they couldn't even add mushrooms to a slice. I rated this a "good" because by daughter had a rectangular cheese slice that she said was good.

Yelp
Stopped in on a hot Sunday afternoon. Essex Market was very busy and this small pizza spot is on the Lower level. Cheese slice was $3.50 plus tax so $3.81 total. Pretty tasty and chewy. Find a dark cool corner to eat it near the Pierogi place ( which was closed at the time .)

Yelp
We tried Slice Joint on the last day the Essex market was open before Covid. We first ordered one plain and a Sicilian slice. It was one of the best slices I have had in my life. It was so delicious that we then ordered a white slice. This slice equally amazing!! I am extremely picky about what is considered "good" pizza. Slice joint is incredible because the pizza has a perfect buttery crunch yet the dough is light and airy in the inside. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and they don't skip out on the quality. The pizza is made with love! This weekend the Essex market opened and we decided to support one of our favorite spots in LES. We sat in the outdoor area for drinks and food. To our surprise, Slice Joint was back for business. We ordered a pepperoni slice to share because we had visited another restaurant for appetizers. The pizza was just like I remembered it. The pepperoni slice was perfect! It had a little heat and a taste of basil. Most importantly with the addition of the pepperoni, it didn't make the pizza greasy at all! You can tell they are methodical with the pizza making process. My bf ordered 2 more pepperoni slices. That's how good it was! I recommend going to the Essex market to support! Don't leave without trying Slice joint, you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
I never really understood pizza until moving to New York. It MUST be something in the water. While looking for something to eat before going to the movies, I wanted a quick snacc. Essex market closes around 9 and most shops in the market line were closing. I decided to take my changes at slice joint. I thought I knew my favorite square slice in NY, but boy was I wrong. The square slices here looked bomb. The cashier mentioned that their meatball pizza was coming out fresh from the oven, so I tried that too. I'm not usually a crust person, but the crust here was extra crispy and light. The dough was also very light and airy while holding the toppings. The pepperoni slice was pretty darn good and the pepperonis were PS pizza like. My favorite slice was the meatball pizza. It was fresh out the oven and piping hot. So bomb! I'll def be back to slice joint and I'm so happy it's just a few blocks away from my apt.

Yelp
Only slice place in the market I believe. 3.81 for a plain slice? This is New York. I do always end up here when I'm at the market, but if you want to save a few dollars, go to Essex pizza of Essex and Rivington (by champion owners). Woman working there is so sweet though! Just too expensive for a slice that's a 8/10 on a good day

Yelp
For the price you expect to be wowed by the pizza, but it was above average for me. The first negative was it arrived cold, not lukewarm just plain (COLD) and had to be reheated. The Birria Pizza was a better than your average pie and pretty good when hot. There was plenty of short rib that was cooked very well and tender, but the pie was very salty. The Arthur Ave might have been good if it actually had toppings. They were out of pepperoncini, so I had to substitute sweet peppers but that wasn't the issue. The issue was the pizza barely had any toppings on it. What was supposed to be sausage was tiny bits of crumbled pork you could even not taste and needed a magnifying glass to see. There was no garlic or basil, the onions were sliced paper thin and even that they used sparingly. Some slices almost looked like a plain slice.

Yelp
This is pizza is my husband and mines top 3 favorite. You have to get the spicy pepperoni slice yummy.

Luke K.

Yelp
To me, as good as Scarr's which has a line that is 100x longer. As long as you are OK with pepperoni or cheese. Not many other options.

Jess B.

Yelp
Got a whole white pizza with mushrooms. Pizza was huge and really good, will definitely be back.

Ajax O.

Yelp
This place is absolutely excellent. The owner used to work at Robertas apparently and this spot is seemingly brand new. The regular slice was insanely good, I'd say damn near perfect. The square was also really tasty, it did have a decent amount of garlic which isn't so pleasant later on in the day lol but the crispy edges were great. I can see this place becoming a hyped spot for sure.

Anja B.

Yelp
Classic New York slice, thin crust not too greasy. Is in a cool location and easy to get to off the subway and it's nice to be able to walk around with it or take it to go. Not my all time favorite New York slice but still good pizza.

Budur N.

Yelp
I am impressed, Slice Joint was definitely amazing. The prices are very moderate as well. All so yummy and just unbelievable flavors. Workers are really nice and service is very fast. We would highly recommend Slice Joint.

Jen C.

Yelp
The specialty square pies, specifically the hearty Duderino, was scrumptious and as flavorful as the description implies. I'm a ricotta and garlic fan, so even more would be welcome. The crust was crunchy on the outside and chewy and satisfying on the inside. If you're craving a pan pizza, this could hit the spot. As for the regular slice, it was good hot from the oven, but excellent as that occasional cold pizza stand-in for breakfast the next day. I'd order extra just to keep one for later. Nice service to boot

Vanessa C.

Yelp
YAS! Love the spicy pepperoni square. Love that they are nearby at Essex Market so we eat it at least once a week. Finally a pizza I can be happy about eating at a kids birthday party (thank you parents!) or lazy Friday night get together.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Really kind & personable staff. The pizza looked spectacular but was just so so. Located in the Essex Crossing Market, which is AMAZEballs! The live music to the left of the Slice joint made up for the blah pizza.
