Saw this on TikTok or my hubs did. We had to try the Detroit style pizza. Place is in downtown and on a busy street. No private parking shared; all street parking. Came on Saturday lunch. There were only 5 bar seats and two 4 person table inside. Mainly, everyone just picked up pizza then eat in. No bathrooms inside either for customers to use. They sell by the slice or whole. Some of their items were not served anymore like salads or some apps. For me, I like my pizza crust thin or decent but they said this SOH is the best pizza dough so I had to try it. We had their 'Detroit vs Everyone' pizza. It was huge and big 6 slices. I only had one and that was plenty. Dough was fluffy and not dense. I loved the toppings but $45 for a large?! Pizza prices sure have gone up!! We also had their Sicilian style cheese pizza. Yummy especially add the honey on top. Also, good with ranch. Service is great. Pizza was good but not sure I can pay this price for pizza all the time for only how many slices. Still good to try!

This is one of the best pizza places in Downtown SJ. Surely the place is very small and kinda messy inside but it’s worth coming here for a quick bite of pizza. Not really hungry at the moment but they let you select the slice and asked you if want to add other ingredients like olive oil as an option. I opted that to provide myself for more experience. The pizza slices are really good especially the Detroit style ones. You can’t really go wrong on them. Also, if you want water, you can’t really ask for a cup of water but they do charge you for getting their water bottles, which is fine anyways because I need to wash down the food with water. I’d rather pay a little extra to do that anyways. Again, not really a place to hangout but rather a quick bite before venturing off to other places, but their pizzas are really delicious.

Google
This place has received a ton of great reviews, so I couldn't resist stopping by to see what the hype was all about. The burrata cheese special 🍕 is absolutely amazing! It's a great spot if you're craving New York-style pizza or try the delicious Sicilian Detroit slices. 😍 Make sure to get the hot honey on everything ♥️🔥 So conveniently located next to the bar 🍻🍷🙏🤗😍😎

Google
We stumbled into Slice of Homage because of the Instagram and tik tok videos and boy it did not disappoint! The flavors of this pizza were incredible. Obviously better when fresh but such a treat to add those signature toppings, it's a must. The hospitality from the staff was also exceptional, made you feel right at home. Please note it could take a while if you order a large pizza, but definitely worth the wait.

Google
Slice of Homage is such a gem! The pizza here is absolutely delicious—fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and a crust that’s just the right mix of crispy and chewy. You can really taste the care that goes into every slice. The menu has something for everyone, whether you’re craving a classic or something a little more unique. On top of the amazing food, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. It’s the kind of spot where you can relax, enjoy great food, and know you’ll leave satisfied. If you love pizza, Slice of Homage is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

Google
I really want to like or love this place. I’ve been seeing reels on IG etc ….. I came all the way from Fremont spent $55 on my pizza, thinking I’m gona grab the slice and cheese will just string off , juice slices of pizza . No , it was bare , ratio crust to sauce and cheese was not it 😱. Felt like light cheese garlic bread more like ☹️, so disappointed.

Google
* * A note on grades, I rate outwards from three stars ** It's taken almost eight months to finally visit SOH after first hearing about it. TL;DR: go if you're downtown. Welcoming service that adds value through recommendations and friendly questions. Very good NY Style inspired pies (I'll be back to try the Detroit). Foldable, though with a crispy bottom. I'll be back; you should go.

Google
Now some may argue that this review is inaccurate. However, please believe I base all my reviews on all past experiences with food and I’ve had a lot of good pizza. I heard so many raving reviews I may have had higher expectations, however this pizza was good, just not great in my opinion. It’s a small cozy spot and the slices are heated upon order. The Detroit everything and the classic were the options selected. Personally the classic was my favorite it was cute little pepperoni and a thin crust. The basil and other toppings came together well. I would surely order this again on a day that isn’t so crowded. Because the wait was rather long. As for the everything Detroit it just tasted like too much bread . There are a few other slices that looked amazing and it’s possible my selection was not the most popular. The guy who took my order was very kind, there was an event happening so the line moved rather slow. I would come back to give it another try for sure. Especially for the thin slice .

Yelp
SoH good! Slice of Homage Pizza is a Bay Area original by a chef who pays homage on his website to renowned pizzaiolo John Arena, who is a stalwart and founder of the scene where I live nowadays, Las Vegas. My friends have urged me to try it, and I finally took the opportunity on this trip back to San Jose. The lone employee got the doors open right around 11:30 and worked diligently through the small line and the busy phone lines on her own. I looked at the slice options and figured out that I wanted the Detroit vs Everybody ($10.00 for a slice). I asked for hot honey to be drizzled on it too, which was complimentary. The hot honey didn't feel that hot, but it really added a nice, light sweetness to the meat-laden slice. The cheese crust, ubiquitous for the Detroit style, was crispy; thankfully, so were the non-cheesy parts of the crust. It was also quite airy throughout. The ricotta, basil chiffonade, and freshly grated Grana Padano all appeared to come after the base was heated in the oven, and, they were all great complements. The overall salt flavor was surprisingly restrained for all the meats. I ended up going with a can of Sprite ($3.00) since they don't offer cups of water. Bring your own water if you can! I was still more than happy enough with the pizza and it didn't seem like an exorbitant price for the refreshing accompaniment. If you like Detroit-style pizza (or any pizza, really) and you're anywhere in the South Bay, find yourself a Slice of Homage. Hopefully I can find time come back again in the future.

Yelp
They gave my order to wrong door dasher and left us waiting for hours until we called to find out it was given out in error. I understand things get busy but you need to verify your deliveries. Not sure I'd trust them with another delivery.

Yelp
I don't love thin pizza but this place was pretty good. I ordered cheese, but somehow that got given to someone else so I was stuck w/margarita. It was pretty good, what sets them apart are the fresh basil, fresh grated parm, and hot honey that they top it off with after heating it in the oven. Service was quick, but inaccurate. There was plenty of seating for it being such a small place.

Yelp
I was craving pizza and had to find somewhere for lunch and stumbled upon Slice of Homage Pizza on Yelp. Since I was in downtown San Jose for jury duty, this was a great opportunity to finally try Detroit style pizza! I walked in and decided to get a slice of the Spicy D ($11.49). It took a couple mins to be reheated, but it came out pipping hot. The slice of Spicy D was pretty good, I enjoyed munching it down and tasting the spicy kick. One slice was filling enough for the lunch break and so that I could still grab a refreshment nearby. If I'm in the area again next time, I will order a mini or whole pizza ahead of time. I was also interested in the Detroit vs Everybody pizza, so I'll have to give that a try too!

Yelp
This place is inside an older building, and you can definitely feel the age in the walls and floors. Seating is pretty limited too, so it's not the best spot for a big group or a long hangout. But the pizza makes up for it. The flavor and topping combinations are delicious and everything tastes super fresh. The staff are quick, friendly, and attentive. Service is fast, even when it got pretty busy. Prices are a bit on the higher side for what feels like a casual spot, but the quality of the food and the downtown location are probably why.

Yelp
Slice of Homage is hands down one of the best pizza spots in San Jose. The crew here is awesome super friendly, always smiling, and they treat you like family. Honestly feels like everyone who works here owns the place with how much pride they take in what they do. It's a small spot with just a few tables and some counter seating, but who cares the pizza is next level. The Redhead and Spicy D Detroit-style slices are my go-tos: perfectly crispy edges, cheesy, and packed with flavor. I usually get two slices and that's almost too much (but worth every bite). That extra sauce they drizzle on top after baking, Game changer. Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Pizza spot is in the heart of Downtown SJ. Definitely better than pizza my heart! Small cozy little spot with friendly service! Seats about 6/8 people.

Yelp
This is my favorite pizza in the bay. Obsessed with every kind and I love how they put the shredded basil and parm and hot honey on at the end. I got a slice of pepperoni around Friday at 7. There were premade pizzas to choose from and little to no wait in line. The quality of ingredients is just the best and the people who make the pizza know what they're doing!

Yelp
I think slice of homage really deserved an updated review based on my last few visits here. Obviously a lot has changed since the early days of their business and I'm all for it! I love that they have both new york and detroit options, so there's a little something for everyone based on their preference. The best part about their pizzas is that you can ask them to put on the additional toppings for free (I believe it was olive oil, ricotta, and basil), which really helps to elevate the slice. Additionally, they have bottles of hot honey and ranch on the table that you could also add onto your slice as well. I highly recommend adding the honey as it makes such a hugeeee difference! The hint of sweetness helps to cut down on the saltiness. My favorite is the Detroit vs Everybody with the works, heated up till the crust is crispy, drizzled with some hot honey, and dipped in ranch!

Yelp
I don't frequent downtown but today I was nearby and finally got a chance to stop in. I've had it brought home as leftovers before but this time I got to order for myself. I wanted a little variety, so we got two slices of Detroit vs Everybody, and then a NY Halla Mahalo and NY Margherita. The NY slices were okay. I prefer Slice of NY for that. I would have been better off getting a mini Detroit Vs Everybody, but I also didn't want to wait 25 minutes. And ordering on DoorDash/online has a massive surcharge. Not sure if I could call in to order and avoid that in the future. Overall the pizza was pretty good. The price is expensive, but I wouldn't say it's overpriced. Clearly they put a lot of thought into their craft and the ingredients, so it's worth it. It's just outside of my usual daily lunch or dinner budget. This is what I would would consider splurging for a good meal. Lucky for me I don't like coming downtown, and I'm hardly ever in Sunnyvale. If there was a location more convenient to me I'd probably come much more often.

Yelp
We picked up our to-go pies which was the Sicilian style Post St and Detroit style Red Head from this small pizzeria near the San Pedro Square Market. The Red Head was baked well done which I think wasn't ideal for this type of pizza. The vegetarian Post St, which had the authentic DOP cheese, was good, but it was way better with the hot honey. It was fortunate that we were able to tick this off our Yelp San Jose collection. We realized that they were Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the Bay Area last year 2024. So that was good. The pies though didn't quiet reach our expectations.

Yelp
We've been ordering from slice of homage for our family dinners and it's our favorite pizza spot! Everything about the pizza is perfect from the dough texture to the ricotta cheese and the generous toppings. I love how this pizza tastes good even if you don't eat it right away and it really makes the perfect leftovers because although the pizza may look small, it actually is extremely filling because it is dense and packed with toppings. We paid $70ish and it was enough for 5 adults. I highly recommend checking this place out!!

Yelp
I've been here several times because this place is just too good There's some seating inside but limited. They have parmesan and chili flakes you can shake on the pizza. You can order to go or for here. The staff were very friendly and walked my group through the various kinds of pizza they offer, making sure to note what their most popular flavor is and explain the flavors offered. You can order by the slice or a whole pie. They do accommodations such as half one style and half another style if you order a whole pizza which is great! I got the Detroit vs Everybody slice which was good. They accommodated my request for a corner piece! They rebake the slices in the display and then pipe on the ricotta cheese and add garnishes after which is a great touch. The bottom of the pizza is crispy, and the dough is airy on the inside and not dense at all. The crust has a yummy burnt cheese edge. The ingredients are all fantastic and taste quality. I liked the amount of tomato sauce that was on my slice. Overall super good and definitely will be coming back.

Yelp
Honestly one of my favorite pizza places here in San Jose. If I'm gonna be honest, it is a little bit on the pricier side costing about like 7-10 dollars a slice? Go to favorites: The Bee Detroit Vs Everybody Redhead
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
Ordered from Slice of Homage Pizza through DoorDash but the pizza unfortunately arrived cold, which definitely took away from the experience. I tried the Detroit vs Everyone pizza, and while the crust had that nice, crispy edge you expect from a Detroit style pie, the flavor overall was a bit underwhelming. It looked great, but it just didn't live up to the hype. The sauce and toppings could have used more flavor and the pizza itself was way too greasy. For $56 dollars I expected it to be bigger. Still, you can tell they put care into what they do. I'd give the pizza itself a 5/10, and I think it would taste much better fresh from the oven rather than delivered.

Yelp
We went on a Thursday night at 9 PM hungry and eager to try what's been named by many as the best pizza in San Jose. We thought we'd get a slice or two and eat it inside since the pics showed a seating area but when we got there the seating area was blocked off. To go was the only option. We ordered one huge regular slice and two of the thicker crust slices. The server was friendly and helpful. Offered to put more toppings to finish off the pizza. What was funny was instead of putting our slices in a pizza box to take, he put each slice on a separate plate and wrapped each with foil then handed me a stack of foil covered paper plates to be on my way. We didn't end up eating them til 15 mins later when we got home because there was no where to eat them there. Pizza overall was good. I liked the traditional style that might better than the thicker crusted options. But those were reheated the next day and still tasted good.

Yelp
Arguably the best pizza in San Jose. Definitely some of the best Detroit style pizza is from SoH. If you're area, check these guys out! I come here a few times a year because it's so good! Big ups to the staff too for always doing an amazing job.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty Solid Pizza place. I would come back to try more. I only had the pepperoni slice, reheated they add the cheese and basil. Service was fantastic they were super friendly and took our plates when we finished. We just hung out there. The shop had pretty nice art in the walls too.

Yelp
FINALLY trying the infamous Slice of Homage in SJ! I've attempted to go here 3 times post-drinks from our bar crawl and they were always closed. Well duh! My friends and I ordered "Detroit vs everybody" and "the spicy d" pizza. Pizza was pretty tasty! Generous toppings and crispy cheesy edges is the best part! Best Detroit pizza in the South Bay! I would say I still like Square Pie Guys and Joy Ride in San Francisco but that's quite a drive so SOH will just do! It definitely hits the spot and satisfy my pizza cravings. I highly suggest ordering ahead so you don't have to wait long. My friends and I timed it perfectly from Hilton to SOH. Not much seating inside so it's best to takeout. Kinda a pricy pizza but they definitely load it up on the toppings so I think it's semi worth it. $50 for each pie! It's a hefty slice and very filling, great with some drinks. Service was responsive and quick! I'd come back for sure!
google avatar

Athina L.

Yelp
Came here after Illo fest to have some pizza slices, I like that they have both Detroit style pizza and regular pizzas- everything was good. The staff is really nice. My friend accidentally dropped her pizzas and he gave her new ones no questions asked. Service is quick, the place is small. I don't think there's a bathroom for patrons. I liked the pizza here and I'll definitely be coming here. I'd probably add more vodka sauce to my pizza with vodka sauce bc it didn't feel like it have enough. Buying extra dipping sauces were an additional charge.
google avatar

Dang L.

Yelp
Good thick pizza. Decent flavors. Service was friendly. Wished they are located in a place with parking. The place wasn't too crowded when I came to pick up the pizza but there were plenty of people who came in afterwards so there was a lot of hub bub and limited seating. They sell whole pizza but also pizza by the slice.
google avatar

Kimmie H.

Yelp
New favorite pizza spot alert! I'm pretty picky with pizza, not a pizza connoisseur or anything but I wont eat cold pizza. Slice of Homage has good pizza! We tried the Detroit Vs Everybody and the crust is perfectly chewy with just the right crisp on the edges. Toppings were loaded and amazing cheese pull. Great for quick, very good slice!

Yelp
My friend recommended this place after seeing it on IG. It took us months to finally plan a day we were all free to come and I'm so glad we did! This shop is located in downtown SJ and is a super small pizza shop- so it's good for to go orders or getting just a slice. There are a few tables and chairs, but I wouldn't recommend it for big groups. If you want a place to sit down, they collab with San Pedro Social where you can order their pizza and have a sit down meal! They have three different styles of pizza: New York, Detroit, and Sicilian. They have a menu of pizzas and you can also customize your pizza. I ordered The Pep to go and it was ready within 20 minutes! It was made fresh and the crust of the New York style pizza was thin and had a good bread to toppings ratio. My friends and I also tried the Detroit style pizza and I think that style is my favorite! The crust isn't super doughy and it had a nice crisp to it. I can't wait to go back and order more!

Yelp
I'm normally a NY pizza type gal... and maybe even a margherita slice from Eataly... but let me tell you, my husband hit the home run with our quick lunch at SOH. We grabbed the Detroit vs Everybody and Sicilian Inspired Post St mini slices... yep, hands down the best pizza in the area. The dough was very airy and light, with a perfect amount of crunch. My fav was the Detroit vs Everybody slice with oh so perfect mini morsel crunchy pepperoni. Ugh, if I could eat a whole box, I would!
google avatar

Brandi P.

Yelp
Food was AMAZING! Never thought I would have hot honey on a pizza...but it was so good! Love the ability of splitting a pizza with 2 different flavors...that's great when I'm the only person that doesn't eat non halal Ambiance is perfect for a Sunday funday...bowling and enough TVs to watch the game. Drinks are of great variety...big tap list (no sours tho) and a full open bar with great variety of mixed drinks. Service is the reason for the low review, we were here for about 3.5 hours...most of which we sat waiting around for our check or our server to be found. But he was our side on extensive smoke breaks. We came in at a great time where we were the only ones in the establishment but we were still waiting around after the other tables around us were fed and left...it was just beyond weird and frustrating. Even asking another worker if we could close out and being told that our waiter would be around...but that never happened. Major props to the manager Kyler who came to see us as we were walking out on our request. He was very nice and apologetic for the lack of service that we received...for sure the type of love and care that managers should have about their business. He told us that the waiter was on the newer side and that he will talk to him about building his hospitality skills. Based on Kyler's understanding and the pizza we will be back to give it another shot again.

Yelp
I found my favorite pizza in the Bay Area , and I loved it enough to order it three months in a row--especially surprising since I don't usually eat much pizza. I'm also not usually a fan of thick Detroit-style pizza, but this one is an exception. The crust is incredibly crispy, the bread feels lighter than most, and the toppings are excellent. That said, my favorite pizza at this shop is their New York-style Beehive pizza, which comes with a mix of different meats. I loved the touch of orange blossom honey and orange zest on top! They use high-quality ingredients for their handcrafted pizzas and provide detailed descriptions of each ingredient online when you place an order. So, it's understandable that their prices are on the higher end--but given the consistently delicious flavors I've experienced, it's worth it!

Yelp
3 pizzas for $140 would normally make me scoff. But with these guys, I have no problem giving them my money. Why? Because they are worth it. Prior to trying Slice of Homage, I didn't even know what "Detroit" style pizza was. If I could explain the crust it's similar to deep dish but it's much more airy and almost focaccia like (but denser) in texture. And the bottom has that crunch factor. Think of Pizza Hut Pan pizza back in the day only this is much more bourgeois. If you've never had Slice of Homage before, do yourself a favor and come here. I ordered 3 of these bad boys for a gathering and we loved it all. These are the pizzas we got: *Detroit Vs. Everybody: Grain Craft flour, SOH Four-Cheese House Blend*, Genoa salami, roasted mushroom, bacon, fresh-pinched Fontanini® sausage, Rosa Grande® pepperoni. Finished with Stanislaus vine-ripe tomato sauce, whipped Ricotta con Latte®, TRULY® 100% garlic-infused EVOO, basil chiffonade, and freshly grated Grana Padano DOP*. *SOH Four Cheese House Blend: Point Reyes Farmstead Toma, Buholzer Brothers Wisconsin Brick, Grande East Coast Blend, Monterey Jack and roasted garlic. *Grana Padano DOP: is a part-slim hard cheese made from cows milk, aged for at least 9 months.-- Don't get intimated by these ingredients. All you need to know is one bite in, you're going to be sold. High quality all the way and the whipped Ricotta cheese on top is what pushes this one over the edge. You'll understand why this is one of their most popular pizzas. *CTS: Grain Craft flour, SOH Four-Cheese House Blend*, Genoa salami, canadian bacon, bacon, fresh-pinched Fontanini® sausage, Rosa Grande® pepperoni. Finished with Stanislaus vine-ripe tomato sauce, TRULY® 100% garlic-infused EVOO, and freshly grated Grana Padano DOP*. *SOH Four Cheese House Blend: Point Reyes Farmstead Toma, Buholzer Brothers Wisconsin Brick, Grande East Coast Blend, Monterey Jack and roasted garlic. *Grana Padano DOP: is a part-slim hard cheese made from cows milk, aged for at least 9 months. If you love bacon, you'll love this one. *Red Head: Grain Craft flour, SOH Four-Cheese House Blend*, Rosa Grande® pepperoni, Swiss American cupping pepperoni. Finished with Stanislaus vine-ripe tomato sauce, TRULY® 100% garlic-infused EVOO, and freshly grated Grana Padano DOP*. *SOH Four Cheese House Blend: Point Reyes Farmstead Toma, Buholzer Brothers Wisconsin Brick, Grande East Coast Blend, Monterey Jack and roasted garlic. *Grana Padano DOP: is a part-slim hard cheese made from cows milk, aged for at least 9 months. This is your atypical pepperoni. Why do I say atypical? Because it's Detroit style. All that carb-y goodness from the dough along with the crunchy bottom, melted cheese and thick slices of pepperoni. So much yes. Come support a small business.. This review is long overdue as I've been here on several occasions now and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Did I mention that eating the pizza as leftovers are just as good?

Yelp
Something about this pizza makes you feel good and full for the rest of the weekend lol. I ordered for pick up so the hubby went, can't say what the ambiance and service was like but I can say we devoured this pizza and there weren't any crumbs

Yelp
Stopped here after dinner and grabbed a cold slice to go and when I warmed it up the next day it was amazing.

Yelp
Came here for a late night dinner around midnight after bar hopping nearby and the place was busy! After 10:30pm, they sell slices of whatever is left. The vegetarian options available to order at that time were cheese Detroit and cheese New York so we got four Detroit cheese slices with ricotta cheese on top. I like how there are bottles of ranch and honey on the side so we can add as much of it as we want. We really enjoyed the slices! Cheesy, fluffy, and good portion size. The ricotta was definitely worth it, and I liked the ranch and honey with the slices. Definitely will be coming back to Slice of Homage!

Yelp
NYC and Detroit style pizza! Yes, please! This cute location is located on Santa Clara st, between San Pedro st and S Market st, downtown San Jose! I love coming here for lunch because you get quick friendly service every time! See photos for more detailed review!

Yelp
After seeing a YouTube video of another pizzeria in NYC/NJ piping ricotta cheese on their pizza, I've been wanting to try it. I'm a Navy brat who was born in NJ, but moved to the West Coast after only a year or two. I'm planning to visit NJ, but the pizzeria I saw on YouTube would be out of the way. I noticed that SOH also tops their pizza with ricotta cheese, so I decided to try their Detroit vs Everybody. I think you can have the ricotta on any of the slices since none of the pizzas in the display case/counter didn't have any on them. There wasn't any parking on the street, so I just parked in the garage around the corner. Luckily, I was the only one in SOH and got my pizza in less than 10 minutes. I was expecting to pay for the parking, but it was free for some reason. Now that I know I can park for free, I'll definitely come back to try all the other kinds.

Yelp
We got the Detroit v Everyone and the Spicy D, and this was some of the best Detroit style pizza I've had. The pizza dough was perfectly airy and crispy on the bottom; and the caramelized Parmesan on the edges of the pizza were perfection. I personally preferred the Spicy D compared to the Detroit because it had more balance in flavors. The Detroit was a little heavy with all the meat. We got this pizza to go and reheated it at 350 in our toaster oven. It reheated well.

Yelp
I ordered the famous Detroit v. Everybody for pick up on a very busy Saturday evening. There was an event happening so lots of lively foot traffic and people enjoying all that Downtown San Jose has to offer. I went in to quickly pick up my pizza and sadly was not met with the same lively atmosphere inside SOH. I don't know what happened, the vibe in there was like someone's dog was just killed. The workers looked upset and stressed. I immediately felt like I needed to apologize for ordering a $50 pizza for pick up with two sides of ranch. I was a bit early so sat at their tables which were littered with used napkins, hella crumbs and an empty Diet Coke can. Oh, also the garbage can was damn near exploding. When it was time to grab my pizza the worker handed it to me, I thanked her profusely for being such an inconvenience and left as soon as humanly possible. Seriously though, tough crowd. The pizza was tasty, very rich with intensely salty pepperoni, the way I think pepperoni should be. It had those nice crispy edges and soft bready interior. The ranch was good too. The only thing it needed in my opinion was something to cut through all that richness like a jalapeño or maybe a more herby ranch. But overall, pretty tasty. I typically review places mostly based on their food but this place was so heinous in person that it makes me not want to go back just to never experience those vibes again. The pizza is good but not THAT good.

Yelp
SOH is hyped but for good reason! Tasty pizza you can order by the slice or an entire pie to share with a group of friends. They're located in DTSJ so I feel like the foot traffic here would be insane after a night of drinking. My group of 7 got seated and started off with some drinks and apps. The onion rings were piping hot and I really enjoyed the horshradish sauce that came with it. For pizzas, we ordered a large Detriot v. Everybody and a Pizza Guy. I didn't realize that both Detroit and Sicilian style pizzas are square! Big suprise for me once the pies came out, but both were super tasty. I personally liked DVE better since there was a greater variety of toppings (ricotta ftw!) and the edges were crispier and fluffier compared to the Sicilian style pie. The prices seem steep, but for the size and quality of the pizzas, I think it's completely worth it. Heads up that if you want to sit and eat, you should head over to Social Club a couple feet to the left of the slice shop!

Yelp
Very busy on a Sunday night (December), decent line to order. Only a select amount left on display, so we weren't left with many options. Tables were also pretty packed. We went with the NY Margherita ($7) and Spicy D ($10) slice. The margherita we got had a bit of a stale and dry crust, sauce was okay but good cheese. The spicy D had a more soft and fluffy dough with a good spice kick from the toppings. The Detroit was crispier and more flavorful than the NY slice. Think the pizza may have been sitting there more so wasn't as warm and fresh. Don't think the price was worth it for just a slice so a full pizza may be more worth. Saw a lot of good reviews from the spot so we wanted to try, may have just gotten a bad batch.

Yelp
3 stars for not skimping on ingredients. They top the slice with freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, fresh ribbons of basil and dots of what looks like ricotta cheese. Overall, pretty pricey for the portion and taste. It was $10 for a slice. Sauce and crust were just ok. I like that they offer thick crust. They heat up the slice then dress it with the toppings. Maybe I'll try a different flavor to see if other pies are better.

Yelp
Slice of Homage has quickly become my absolute favorite spot for Detroit-style pizza in San Jose. Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back--the pizza is consistently amazing, with that perfect crispy-chewy crust and rich, flavorful toppings. Even when I grab something to go, it's still just as delicious, which says a lot about the quality. The place has a welcoming vibe, and you can tell the team puts real care into what they make. Whether I'm craving a quick takeout meal or sitting down to enjoy a fresh slice, Slice of Homage never disappoints. If you love great pizza, this place is a must.

Yelp
I ordered through the Toast app with a pickup time estimated between 3:50-3:55 pm. I arrived around 3:32 pm, fully expecting to wait about 20 minutes. Instead, the wait turned into a complete mess. Around 3:48 pm, we were told it would be another 20 minutes with no explanation. By 4:15 pm--well past the original pickup window--we asked for an update and got the most unprofessional response: "I don't know, 5 minutes? Sorry." There was clearly no communication or effort to be transparent. By 4:30 pm, after being told our order "just needed a few more minutes," we finally gave up and asked for a refund. The employees were never proactive about giving updates -- it got to the point where we had to keep asking for information. They didn't seem interested in helping when we approached them, offered no real explanation, and gave no reimbursement or apology for having us wait over an hour. This whole situation could have been avoided if they had simply been honest from the beginning about the wait time and upfront about only having one oven operating. Instead, we were misled, left waiting, and treated with a lack of urgency and professionalism. Extremely disappointing experience, and I won't be returning.

Yelp
Best pizza in the South Bay, though ~ $10 a slice. Worth getting a whole pizza. Incredibly delicious crust on the Detroit style pizzas and great topping choices. Great service and chill ambiance in DTSJ

Yelp
Solid place for detroit style pizza. We love all the toppings like the ricotta flowers, garlic oil, etc. The best part was the crispy cheese rim. Quite expensive, but on par with the other places in the area. This location is fairly small with not too many staff, service is just ok.

Yelp
The girls running the counter gave my slice to someone else and I had to wait for them to warm up another slice for me. They didn't apologize or try to make it up. It was basically tough luck attitude. Also, halfway through eating my pizza half of my topping fell off, since they were in a hurry and didn't let the cheese melt all the way. At least the pizza tasted good or what was left on my slice. This is the first time I truly contemplated asking for my tip money back.

Yelp
New to the area but this place was constantly recommended to me. SOH was very good and not as pricey as I expected. The New York slice was great and I was tempted to try the Detroit slice too. Do your tastebuds a favor and get a slice of pizza

Yelp
Talk about some delicious pizza. Super filling bomb ingredients the staff was super cool. Try to get there early before a game because the line builds up here in the evenings. They are both pizza by the slice and full. Not too much seating, but you can always grab the food and eat at the bar next-door. Would definitely recommend this place. The pizza is really bomb super delicious

Yelp
Had this back in 2022 - we had ordered a Detroit vs Everybody and a NY style Margherita. We weren't impressed. Assumed it was due to bringing it back home as opposed to eating it fresh. Fast forward to July 2025. We gave it another shot and tried different pizzas. Definitely big fans of the NY style. Crust was crispy and the toppings, sauce were flavorful. Detroit style was good, but when they reheated the slices, a lot of the pepperoni on the edge got burnt until it was hard and inedible. Overall, it was a much improved experience. But not sure if we will return anytime soon.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a friend and man it did not disappoint. Located in downtown San Jose with a parking garage that's 5 minutes from the place. First 90 minutes are free at the garage. Upon entering the restaurant it was already busy. Mind you I came right when it opened at 11:30am on a Friday. The people are amazing and very hospitable. 2 man crew offering amazing service and were very kind. Had the Detroit vs Everybody deep dish and it was delicious. The sprinkle I believe was parmesan cheese with some ricotta as well. The place is small, but busy. You can order online as well, but they are very efficient. My favorite pizza spot.

Yelp
Soggy $60 pizza Heard all the hype about this Dine-In Pizza place so we came by to see what's it all about. First and foremost, it took FOREVER for the pizza to come out. When it came out, it was the SOGGIEST pizza I've eaten yet. We ordered: - Americana Classica (New York) By the way, this was nothing like New York pizza. Just coming back from New York this did not at all remind me of New York. It requires a fork, knife, and 50 million napkins. Pro: - good amount of toppings Cons: - The crust supporting the pizza was so soft you're not able to hold/fold it. Even using utensils + a plate was tough. - Ambiance is mid. They used to have games upstairs, now it's just empty and loud with just seating (bowling downstairs) - Bathroom are gross! Overall, I've given this place 2 chances (1 dine in and 1 to-go) both terrible experiences. I'd reframe from going here if you want real New York Pizza.
