Great food 😋 Top tier service. Cozy & friendly atmosphere. This is a Grown Folks spot. Plenty of parking for the location. Family owned. Did I say how friendly this place is? 🤔 Any problems (Most likely won't be any) ask for Anthony. Call ahead & check for special events & activities. This is not fast food. It's cooked to order so be patient & wait. Get you a drink at the bar while you wait. Hope everyone has the same type of experience I had. Looking forward to coming back with more people. 😀

It was our 1st visit to the area, and the food was excellent. We ordered the Kay's BBQ Pizza, which was great and the wings and fries were both delicious. For the wings I choose lemon pepper and honey gold, omg! You will not be disappointed.

This place is a vibe. This is not fast food so be prepared to wait for your food. The food is great, the customer service is great and the DJ is great. There is a full bar. I will definitely go back.

Wow! I have been wanting to try this place for a couple of years now. Time made it possible and I’m so glad I went. As soon as I walked in , I felt like family. The ambiance felt welcoming and the staff were soo nice! My pizza……baby my Egyptian Pizza…. 👌🏾👌🏾 perfect ratio to cheese, marinara sauce , chicken and whatever that special seasoning is. I will be back to try something else next time.

This was a great hangout spot and the pizza was delicious. I ordered the half moon size tried Memphis Meat Mafia pizza with fries which was enough for two people. It pizza was all that and more! We went on a Friday night and there was a DJ. Very fun vibe, but I am from Atlanta so I was a little taken back with a security guard at the entrance and having to have my purse checked and husband had to be pat down. The places I frequent do not have this, but I guess being in Memphis is a little different to ensure people’s safety. Other than that, I’d recommend this pace and will go back when I come back to visit Memphis.

Omg‼️So this was my first time here, it was so welcoming! The young lady greeted us with a nice smile and great energy! Our food was hot and fresh, the drinks where soooooo good!!!! And the customer service was outstanding! I will be returning soon!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Where do I start? I’ve hard a vast amount of pizza from all over the country and I’m going to say this was my favorite pizza I’ve ever had. Now I know everyone’s style is different and some prefer more than the others, but for me, this was perfection. The sauce and cheese make up some of the biggest aspects of pizza and they knocked it out of the park on both of these! I got a large Pyramid Parmesan Chicken Pizza and this pizza complimented itself so well. The pizza was a great portion for the price. Between the balance of Parmesan and mozzarella, mixed with chicken, it was just a classic great tasting pizza! The pizza was cooked just crispy enough to get a crunch, which I love! The service from the crew that was working was great, they were very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. Definitely loved it and would be back if I visit back here!

We called in carryout and they were super kind and helpful. The place looked like a blast and we regret not staying but the lids were in pj's at the hotel. The smell alone was amazing. We had the meat pizza and wings the employee recommended and they were GREAT! Wishing we had more time to try more flavors. A large pizza and 10 wings fed our family of 6. We will definitely eat here again if we come through. Thank you!

Very cool spot. DJ, cards, relaxed fun nightlife vibes with excellent pizza, wings, and a bar. If you want to go out and have fun in a hidden and unique Midtown Memphis gem, call your friends and come hang out! Heads up, per other reviews...do not expect speedy service. Settle into the night, when the food comes, it comes....and it's hot and delicious.

This lounge is fun, laid back with lots of laughs and music when you go on a Thursday. The service was good and everything was made fresh. The food is amazing. The cheese sticks, Memphis meat mafia pizza, and those succulent wings. All a win for me.

I was recommended this place by my sorority sister. So immediately found them on Yelp and placed an order (they open at 4p). Anthony (owner/chef) took my order. Very pleasant and helpful. So disclaimer: BJs Hotwings has been my tried and true for honey hot flavor but they closed the Getwell location years ago and the one time I drove to Whitehaven it was a disappointment (small wings for higher cost). Chings wasn't it for this particular flavor. Fast forward to today, I ordered the 10 piece Haven Honey gold and they were VERY good, like REALLY good. Not the same finger licking sweet sauce like BJs but definitely my now go to! I would recommend next time for the wings to be fried a bit softer (if that's an option). The Chelsea Cheese Sticks were very good. Like a cheese flatbread, no sauce needed. I've rode by this place clearly multiple times and had no idea they were there. Don't put off by the location, really fine people there. I can't wait to try the pizzas. Good eating!!!

Ok, now see the night started out great. We had a table and many people weren't in, so I assumed that they were following the COVID19 of 50% capacity. About 15 minutes into my arrival, I was finally able to order. I had sangria and wings. Let me just say the wings were delicious! I had honey hot wings that were seasoned to perfection. They come in a serving size of 5 and the price point was pretty good. Seriously, I would order wings from here once a week! The sangria was pretty good as well. It comes in an 8 ounce cup. They had a special that night, so of course I took advantage of that, lol! Now as far as the service goes, I was disappointed in the lack of staff and frequency that they checked on us. Again, it took 15 minutes to get drinks. Not too bad you'd say? Well ordering food to an additional 30 minutes and getting it took more time. I believe if they would have stayed within the 50% capacity the staff could have accommodated guest properly, but that didn't happen. We were totally forgotten about and had to literally walk to the front counter to get checked out after waiting 40 minutes for the server to come back. I'm not giving them a 3 star based on the food. That was amazing. The service and safety is the biggest issue. Once they get that fixed they will be good to go!

I went to Slice of Soul on tonight (Wednesday) and they do karaoke. It was the best time I've had in a long time. The wings were cooked perfectly and the pizza was banging. I'm so upset that I didn't take a picture of all this goodness because the food and experience was just that good. My sister did a song and we dance a little. It is the perfect mature crowd. They definitely have a great atmosphere. I will be going back and telling all my friends.

Imagine going to your cool uncle and auntie's house, and they just happen to make bomb a pizza. On a really hot day, you walk in and there's the slight smell of incense, the A/C is on blast and Sanford and Son is on mute across every TV. They're playing nice R&B Oldies and Neo Soul. The pizza selections are creative and come out in no time. The service was very personable. Definitely going back.

Food was delicious and it was so much fun listening to the love DJ Friday night. We felt safe while enjoying our meal and the music

Stopped in for lunch. I had the 7" Italian sausage. It was really good. Just the right amount of cheese (i like a lot of cheese). I really like the lounge feel. Cool chill atmosphere. There's a stage for the band. I will definitely have to come back to check out the band. While here I waited about several minutes for my drink. When I asked about it they told me they were out of ice and waiting on someone to bring some. When my food came out i had to ask for silverware. It was brought to me with no napkins. It's just the little things that set the good apart from the great. Maybe it was just an off day. I will be back to give them another try.

I love black owned restaurants, you get that family atmosphere. Nice variety of music from the DJ. The cook came out & asked how do I like my wings & they were made with perfection. I ordered pizza & wings. Sorry no picture, I was hungry. Next time I will be sure to get some pictures of my food. Oh & they had $5 martinis & other drink specials.

The worst Yelp food order ever delivered to me. And it was not a problem with GrubHub. It's all on the restaurant. Food (Pizza particularly) was cold when delivered, but that was not the most disappointing part. I had ordered (and paid for) bottled coke and bottled water. What I received was a barely-full small "cup" of cherry-flavored soda (without signs of spills if that were to be an excuse!). And the worst part and somewhat insulting, was having "a small cup of tap water" delivered to me! Who needs your freaking tap water? I have tap water in my room if I wanted that. Is this your first ever food delivery? Did you look at my order to see what I paid you for? Or is there anyone in your business who thinks this is funny? I called the restaurant as soon as I opened the delivered bag and saw what I had received. As soon as I told the lady answering the phone that I was calling about a food order that had just been delivered to me, she put me on hold (not even hold, she put the receiver on the countertop while I could hear her joking with a girlfriend). I waited 20 minutes on the phone and then hung up and called again. The exact same thing happened (on hold, for 15 minutes this time until I hung up). Way to run a business.

I really liked this place. It really is a lounge and it's a cool place to hang out. The paintings and artwork are incredible. It definitely pays respect to Memphis and black history. Most of the art represents black leaders and black musicians. The music was all Motown, Blues, or Hiphop. I'd love to hang out here on a weekend night. I was disappointed with the pizza though. I found it to be very lackluster. It's a mix between Red Baron and high school cafeteria pizza. I think they make their own dough, but its not better than frozen. The wings did look pretty good, but I didn't get to try them. I asked if they make their own cheese sticks and they said they do. Now this was my fault, because in my head I was thinking about the deep fried breaded mozzarella sticks. It didn't occur to me that they might just make a cheese pizza and slice it differently. And of course that's what they did. I was very disappointed, but as I said, I made a mistake ordering and should have realized I wasn't ordering what I wanted. Anyway, if you're hanging out and having a good time the food will cure a case of hunger, but I won't come here against just to eat. Also, something odd. I came in about 12:30 lunch time. They were mopping the entire store during lunch rush! Come on guys! Do that another time!

First time stopping in to grab lunch for work To go order. I must say I was skeptical but driven by the reviews previously submitted & the reviews told the truth! I ordered the Al B Green 12 inch pizza / flatbread it came generously loaded with toppings to my satisfaction and the artisan flatbread was crunchy and cooked to perfection! I wanted a small Caesar salad as well but was told they were out of croutons. Note this was 7pm in the evening. I will be back to enjoy the dining room and atmosphere and yes the pizza was yummy! A must try!!!!!!

From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles from the staff. Much appreciated. I also appreciate a restaurant that somehow evades that front door logjam. This is one of those places where people waiting for tables and picking up to-gos have ample space to do their thing. Thank you very much! I was seated promptly, though the restaurant was packed. Good work for such a new establishment. I got a number for my table and a sheet of paper with the menu to circle the food I wanted. The young lady was very helpful when I had questions. My pizza was delicious! I got the vegetarian, minus mushrooms. It was full of veggies and cheese. The salad I got was also a healthy portion. No skimping here. Great balsamic vinaigrette dressing! The lemon cake dessert was pretty good in flavor. The pizza was CERTAINLY the piece de resistance worth returning for. I plan to bookmark this venue and make it a regular spot on my list of dinner plans. I should mention that this establishment is as much a food place as it is a lounge with major ambiance - the exposed brick walls, pop music paintings, stage and funky decor. I can't wait to see a band or watch a game on their huge screen that takes up an entire wall. A staff member told me they have daily events so you might want to follow their Facebook page. The restaurant was packed with young and fun people as well as families as I was there early on a Wednesday night. On an aside, I'm thrilled that this restaurant is bringing such vibrance to this part of Madison Avenue. Parking is ample - there's a lot on the east side of the building. I truly think A Slice of Soul is here to stay!!!

The pizza is great and more importantly, the people that run the business are awesome people. It was my first time ordering, and it does take a while, but it's well worth it due to the amazing service that makes you feel like it's home.

I reaaallllyyy wanted to rank this place a 4 or 5 but my experience, sad to say, didn't warrant the extra marks. The host was very nice but food service was a bit slow. My party of 3 waited nearly an hour to get 2 pizzas, tenders, and fries. So I'd rule it out as a viable lunch option. Small details go a long way and we missed out on simple things like timely refills, utensils, cheese and red pepper offerings, and some out of stock menu items. That being said , the PIZZA was amazing. Perfectly cooked, crispy edges, flavorful, and fresh ingredients; and the atmosphere was nice too. A+ on the music selections . I will try this place again...when I build up my bank with time and patience

It's a groovy spot with Prince paintings and other local art and the staff is friendly. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage and waited for 30 minutes. And when I got there there were no seated customers, maybe they had a ton of call-ins. The pizza was ok. The sausage tasted a bit lower quality but the pepperoni was fine. The pizza was not bad, but it wasn't anything special. The wings looked good, maybe I'll give them another shot with different menu items. Not sure if I'll go back for pizza?

We have so much fun at Slice of Soul Pizza Lounge anytime we go but Wednesday is so much fun for Klassy Karaoke with DJ1LUV & Kinfolk KT Great Wings Great Pizza & Great Drinks!!!

Cozy place for a night out with the girls/guys or just spending time with your partner in crime! DJ is good. I would suggest anything off the menu. Chicken fries right. I'm sure there is someone's auntie or uncle back there cooking. The drinks are skrong!!!!! One will get you right! All of the artwork is for sale. Always have a good time when I visit this place.

I went to this place after leaving work this place was nice and the wait was long but the workers there was so nice and the pizza was worth every penny I will be back soon

So MBRW finally got me here..Why did it take so long?? Pizza was different due to it think crust but had tons of flavor and meat stack on it. The wings were really good too.

I wanted to like this place but in the time of Covid, its a no-go. At the time of my visit, restaurants are supposed to be at 50% capacity. Everyone is supposed to have on masks if not eating or drinking. None of that was enforced here. It was full of people. And no one had on masks. Not even servers. I was seated and told the server I was waiting on someone. She did not return. When my friend arrived (45 mins later), I had to tell another server to go and get ours. When she returned I asked why she hadn't came back. She stated that I told her I was waiting on my friend to arrive so she went and did other things she had to do. Despite this response, we still ordered. This was also before the restaurant was full. We got our food about 25 mins later. And the server never returned. We were itching to go once we realized they were seating at full capacity. I also wanted to place an order for something else to-go because I didn't particularly care for what I had. Never saw the server again. So we finally decide just to get up and head to the register. Thats when the server stated she would be with us to cash us out. As we waited at the register for her, she went to clean off the table to seat more ppl. I was just over it and ready to go at this point.

We had an amazing experience at Slice of Soul Pizza Lounge...we had the lemon pepper and the seasoned wings! They were fried to perfection! We also had the Bar BQKays pizza!! The Mud Island Iced Tea was delicious! Tell Wanda Makeda's Cookies sentcha! The entire staff was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was great! Salute to you slice of soul!

The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The waitress was very helpful in recommending food and drinks. The place isn't very big but it was very nice and enjoyable. They did have a live Dj as well and we was able to watch the games.

The pizza and wing combo is the best of both worlds. Al green pizza is a fav. Small space but packs a punch of good food and soul. Love this place

Great place with great pizza. The staff was friendly and quick. They have spoken word on Monday nights and karaoke on Wednesday... I think. We will be back for those. Parking is 100 ft past the front door to the right or across the street.

I have ordered pizza from there quite a bit don't usually like thin crust but theirs is delicious and stuffed with ingredients. My personal favorite is The Al Green Pizza no meat but lots of olives and veggies

We got this pizza one night at about 9 after we had driven all day, and that BBQ pizza was the best we've ever had!

Phenomenal customer service, and a very 'Memphis' feel coupled with an amazing ambiance of artwork, and even better food! If you stop in Memphis this should be on your list to take in the culture and to have a great time!

Seriously good food and atmosphere. I stopped in around 9 o'clock on a Wednesday night because I was striking out finding any bbq places still open and serving. Boy am I glad for my luck! The place has a cool vibe, welcoming staff and pizza that is off the charts. Since they let you add extra toppings to their specialty pizzas, I went with the meat pizza with peppers. They load it up with toppings and it was a great deal for 10 bucks. I could have been satisfied (and was full after half) with just the pizza. Fortunately, I never stop with just pizza but also got some wings. Their spicy gold sauce was perfect! I would definitely return if I make it back to Memphis in the future. On the night I went, they had karaoke, but apparently they also have other talent come in during the month.

Food was great and the atmosphere was too! The art work around there in amazing! We went around like 5pm and had great service and parking wasn't bad either for it to be downtown!

Wings were really good but the pizza is so bad! Artisan? This was microwave pizza if I've ever had it, which has a place in the world for sure but don't call this artisan and then deliver that. Grr.

Just arrived in town from Houston starving like marvin, and yelped upon this spot on a Friday night. DJ, Music and vibe was on point...my people smiling and grooving, a little twerking...I'm so hype! Let's eat! Pizza ahhmazing flava... love the crust and the South Memphis wings babbee, delish! Such a chill spot, black owned, black art, just cute AF! Love it, we'll be back!

Slice of Soul is the best pizza joint in Memphis. We were so surprised that no one has review it yet on Yelp. However I did see excellent reviews on google. Wanda treated us very well! The drinks and pizza was reasonably price. We ordered the Al Green garden pizza. It was delicious. All of Memphis should know about Slice Of Soul Pizza.

This pizza was awesome!! We got the Memphis Meat Mafia and it was delicious! We also order a side of wings (mild) and the seasoned fries. Both were very good! Our delivery was right on time! My boyfriend answered the door (delivery guy was expecting a Samantha) and asked him for the name on the order to make sure no one was taking my food! This is our first time in Memphis, we got in late, and just wanted something yummy and fast! Definitely wasn't disappointed and definitely will order again next time we're in town!

First of all, the pizza is really good! But, I wouldn't recommend dining in. The night we went there was a DJ in the very small dining room and his music was LOUD. Maybe alright for some, but we could barely hear each other. We had been there before and it was pretty much the same thing. We ended up taking it out after we ordered.

Just left Slice if Soul Pizza Lounge as my first restaurant of the Memphis Black Restaurant Week. The atmosphere was incredible with a live band. The food was incredible and very fresh since discovering this place I will definitely make it my new place for live music and great food.

Today was my first experience with is restaurant and I literally enjoyed every bite. I order a 7" flatbread with a mixture of veggies and a bbq sauce base. This was one of the tastiest pizzas I've had in a while. I ordered the pizza for delivery and fortunately the driver brought my food mostly warm. I can only imagine a crispy crust pizza and hot stringy cheese from a dine in experience. Will definitely go to this place for a lunch date. I have high hopes of a better in house experience. Looking forward to an off day to stop by. From the other reviewers about this restaurant, it is a good place to patronize. Not sure about the options of alcohol, but I will find out. Nothing goes better with pizza like this than a nice cold one or stiff drink!

Honestly, I was not real sure what to expect when I walked into this establishment. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the end of our visit. Our waitress, Erica was amazing! She was EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful throughout our visit. She let us know exactly what to expect concerning time with the dishes that we were ordering. Although it does take a while for the dishes to make it to the table, EVERYTHING came out to us hot and perfectly cooked! Which to me is most important. We ordered the Parmesan Pyramid Chicken pizza and the Memphis Meat Mafia pizza and both tasted great! We also had an order of the seasoned wings, also a fabulous choice. The ambiance is very laid back and for the most part clean. I love the selection of music that was playing. It was a mixture of jazz, R&B and hip hop. At the end of our visit we met the owners. They were extremely nice and welcoming. Everyone in that building made my husband and I truly feel as if they appreciated our business. That is a VERY important element of customer service to me that most business miss the mark on. This is a great resturant we will definitely visit them again.

Absolutely love this place! The Al Green & Bar-Bq-Kay Pizzas are amazing! And the Honey Gold Wings can rival any of the top wing spots in Memphis!

I had a 14 in square pizza. I added my own toppings so I loaded it up with spinach, Bell pepper, olives, chicken, bacon, and pepperoni. I had it delivered via Uber eats. It was tasty. It was delicious. I'd eat it again. My crust was a bit too soft or maybe I added too many toppings so I had to use a fork or fold it up.
