The food was very good. Large fluffy pancakes, served with whipped cream, and REAL maple syrup, hash browns made with REAL potatoes.
Service...remember this is a neighborhood cafe. I wanted to rate at least a 4 based on the food alone. My guest suggested the rating(I still say visit Slim's Diner for the food!).

I just have quick stop for breakfast. I had to go to work so I appreciate quick service.I had a western omelet which was great. Personal were friendly a dinner has a feeling of old style with modern touches. I recommend.

Neat atmosphere and good addition to the Petworth area, but it's typical Diner fare so don't expect to be blown away by the food. Onion rings and fried chicken sandwich were good. Service was slow.

The décor like very nice. The prices are great. But the service is very slow. And the food is ok. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich with grits and it took over 20 mins to come out

Stopped there after passing by and thought it looked fun and delicious. This place is AMAZING!! The food is honestly some of the best breakfast I have had. The place is newly renovated and clean. And the staff is on par. They were warm and welcoming often playing with our little toddler and showing him off to the other staff.

Old fashioned dinner setting, with great service and food. Reasonably priced and speedy service. As soon as I sat at the breakfast bar the server had coffee and water already. Great service.

Slim's is an excellent spot for breakfast. The seating process can be a little hectic and waits can be long as there is limited seating; but it is worth the wait. I highly recommend Slim's Breakfast; cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and three small pancakes. These are the best eggs I have ever had.
Also, give their bacon cheddar biscuits a try. The How Now Brown Cow boozy float was excellent as well. I can't wait to go back.
