Slim's Dive Bar

Fun double floor bar with an edgy vibe. They have great drinks at great prices. This bar is over 25 years old and Raleighs oldest music venue. There is a pool table and pinball games upstairs, smoking outdoors, and dogs are allowed. There's a parking deck right beside the bar with 2 hour free parking. Made for a fun way to kick off our Saturday.

First time here tonight. The atmosphere is cool but the bartender tonight 11/20 with the glasses should not be a bartender. Her negative vibes ruined my time and my friends, not a good first impression. Charged me for a drink I didn’t even order. Asked for a taste test of a cider, she said it’s in a can, I responded “oh ok”. That does not mean I ordered the drink. Go to the davie down the street, their attitude is much nicer had a great time there!

I see a lot of good reviews on this place but sadly i did not get that same service. I came here for my dad’s show and to watch them play. Me and my girlfriend come inside and there is a white guy wth long brown hair who asked for our IDs it caught me off guard bc this isn’t a club and I’ve been to over 20-30 bars in Raleigh Zebulon Clayton Wilson knightdale all over and never gotten id’d. But this isn’t the issue. I explained I was here for my dad I have some music equipment let me call him so he can come get it. They guy says “well doesn’t that suck you should’ve thought abt that before hand like who doesn’t bring there id to a bar” I said I’ve never been id’d to go my dads show and they play at bars all the time calm down you work at a bar dude it’s not that serious. Then he explains that it’s also 12$ to get in allowing us entry without IDs then a Girl comes over and says uhm no they dont have ids. So this guy id’d me complained like a toddler bc I didn’t have an id then proceeded to let me in still. If anything this guy should be fired. I’m sure yall are a great establishment but I don’t mind being told I can’t com in I would’ve left no problem after giving my dad his music equitment I hop I can see a better bouncer for yalls bar instead of a white dude who thinks he’s better then everyone else. He also told my dad to punch him in the face which is kinda weird

I love Malort; I search it out in every city I travel to. This place has A LOT OF IT, and I love that. I was very happy that Slim’s serves Malort.

It’s a dive bar for all the punk rockers of Raleigh. The service is exactly what’s expected for a dive. Not awesome but not horrible. It makes me think of San Francisco a little. They have live music some nights in a tiny stage and a great outside patio area. Don’t roll in here wearing vineyard vines okay, come in ripped jeans and a ramones shirt or flannel.

Had a few drinks here it was great. Nice and quiet but that's probably because there was snow and nobody was really out and about. The staff was friendly great atmosphere if they serve food I had no clue but again that was really way past dinner time when I was there.

Nice atmosphere. Pool table and pinball upstairs. Cool little dive spot to catch an open mic on a Tuesday night...just don't try to be fun with the female bartender...she is not.

Amazing service, great music, and an incredible patio in a cool location! A local band was playing, adding to the fun vibe. The staff even helped me find a great pizza spot nearby—so glad I came back!
