Sliver Pizzeria

I was up on Telegraph looking for Weasel Rimrubber's lost dog Splatter, the hair lipped albino water dog from Portugal. I thought I saw him duck into Sliver Pizzeria, but when I saw that dog...it had 4 legs, and Splatter only has 3 ..So I decided to have a couple of slices and pass out photos of Splatter and mention the reward and the fact that he only understands Portuguese. It was my 1st time at Sliver Pizzeria, and the pizza was Amazing! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆!

Fox News on repeat at this "pizza with a social conscience" place... The irony. We asked the employees to switch the channel as the Fox News segment was actively spewing false information, and they said no. Didn't even want to engage. We mentioned that we felt disrespected and disturbed watching this segment and they just shrugged and ignored us. Photo proof provided. Great food, dishonest messaging about their so called "mission".

So fricking awesome omfg. Cheap good eats. I’ve never been to a pizza place that has dipping sauce/salsa and it was phenomenal.

Running errands the other day on Telegraph Ave, my partner and I decided to eat at Sliver. We ordered a half pizza bc we were inbetween lunch and dinner and just needed a snack. But the half comes with two extra slivers. It was so good and the service was excellent too! Our pizza was ready in 5 minutes and they included the green sauce and limes. They also had three TVs showing baseball, basketball and football, kind of the same sports vibe it had when it was located on Center Street. If you like Cheeseboard, you will love Sliver!

Sliver is nice to have every once in while. Slices are small, but make up for it by being very rich (I.e. fatty) and can fill you up. The green sauce is hard to resist and will have your mouth smell like garlicky oil all day.

Honestly i never bought pizza from this place, it's usually my friends or my colleagues who bought this pizza whenever we have party. I do love the taste. It's flavorful. It is a thin-type pizza. One of the most recommended pizza in Berkeley

I've been a Sliver regular for years and of all the locations, this is by far my favorite thanks to Jorge. He is super kind and was very patient with me as I scrambled to find my payment earlier today. Delicious pizza and awesome work crew! They keep me coming back!

this pizza was absolutely HORRIFYING but the guy at the front counter was very nice. we got a cheese pizza which came with a thick layer of cheese and bread, no sauce. we were given a red and green sauce but it was coriander chutney and spicy red sauce, two things that do not belong on pizza. the man was very nice and gave us 1/2 a pizza for free but i wish we never got it because it was so disgusting. the inside of the shop was deserted and smelled like chlorine and hints of weed. i thought it wad nice that they donate food to homeless people but i wonder if maybe it’s because their pizza isn’t selling. i would definitely come again to chat with the guy at the counter but the pizza was disgusting, nauseating, alarming, evil, blood curling, pimple inducing, wet, so oily it leaked through the box, and personality transforming. but the guy was really nice 😊

So amazing delicious food and Louis is very kind and gentle! Genuienly a great place with fresh hot food!! So delish!

a berkeley classic! their green sauce is amazing as always (and I don't usually like cilantro). I ordered a slice of the daily special as a snack and of course it came with a sliver! I personally love it when their pizza comes with corn (their menu rotates daily) and FYI all their pizzas are vegetarian. Sliver reminds me of Cheeseboard but is more conveniently located near campus/southside. Usually my friends and I would order a whole box and share the whole thing. Service is very fast and you bus your own table.

My friend was always trying to get me to eat here and I was always like "Hell no! I ain't eatin' no vegetarian pizza! I want my pepperoni!" (Let's face it. Pepperoni IS life.) Eventually, she just bought me a slice and it was over. I eat here like at least twice a week. No meat, no problem. These are the best slices I've ever had and I lived in NYC. The menu is always super creative. Right now I'm chowing down on a wild mushroom pizza. It's fire. But it isn't as good as the potato and corn pizza from Wednesday. If you told me a year ago I'd be going back for seconds of a potato corn pizza... On top of the pizza being amazing, they're also the nicest people I've ever met. My first time there by myself I realized I forgot my wallet and she just gave me a slice anyway. I went back and paid, but she didn't know me. She didn't know I would. You always have to wait because they don't do that heat lamp shiz. They heat it up fresh for you. It's so goooood. The place is super cute, too. Lots of nice wood. The TV is on, but with almost no volume so you don't have to deal with the noise of it. Some cute couches to lounge on. All in all, I love this place. Madly.

Find it on Downtown Shattuck Ave just a couple doors down from the main entry to the Berkeley BART station. Carnivores need not wince.. this is good stuff, speaking as a fellow carnivore! Vegan friendly if that's your thing.. B a c k s t o r y : Being a college town, Berkeley is no stranger to Pizza, with nearly every variety represented here across the many pizza joints scattered through town. Yet, as an enclave for "healthy" eating, Berkeley seems to have its own take on vegetarian pizzas, which started out at The Cheese Board further up Shattuck Avenue in the "Gourmet Ghetto", but has since expanded to "Sliver Pizzeria" - an entirely new local chain of pizza places started by alumni from the Cheese Board. The P I Z Z A : At Sliver, there is a different Pizza-of-the-Day every day, Veggie, of course. Though the toppings may seem sometimes a bit unconventional often with Yukon Potatoes, Corn, a hint of lime usually over Mozzerella, the result is tasty and amazing on the tongue. The crust is thin, like a NY style and what's cool and why they call this place "Sliver" is that you get a bonus sliver of pizza to go with your normal-sized slice. At the condiments bar, they also have a zesty green sauce and limes to go on the side with your pizza. Sliver also has locations on Telegraph, two more locations in Oakland and over in Lafayette too. My go-to is this Sliver here in Berkeley. Count me in as a "regular" =)

TIP: check out their website to see what pizzas they server for the week and plan ahead! The crust, made from rice flour, is chewy and less thick than traditional American pizza crusts, which I loved. The pizza tastes extremely similar to another vegetarian pizza spot I love in Berkeley. The menu changes daily, offering creative vegetarian options that are always fresh and bursting with flavor. The sauce adds a fresh, spicy kick that elevates the entire pizza, highly recommend ordering an entire container of the sauce. If you're a fan of innovative, veggie-forward pizza, Sliver Pizzeria is a must-visit!

This place is reminiscent of the Cheeseboard pizza in North Berkeley but location wise is more conveniently located near Berkeley campus. Similarly they have limited types of flavors each day so it's good to check the menu before showing up if you have certain food preferences. We like to take it to go and have a picnic on campus nearby

We visited on a Wednesday evening, and was glad to find a place that was open late. (We were coming from the airport) Found this place and decided to give it a shot, since it had great reviews. We entered and loved the simplicity of their menu. Choose how many slices you want with their pizza of the day. We decided to get a two slice with their green sauce. Whomever created their green sauce, *chefs kiss*. Their pizza was delicious too. We will definitely be back.

Not crowded on a Saturday noon. A good amount of indoor seating, felt spacious. There's even a couch area. My friend and I each ordered a slice of the pizza of the day, which was the potato pizza. It was ready in less than 10 minutes. It came piping hot and I liked the crunch of the crust. The green sauce was pretty good too! Added lots of flavor to the pizza and I dipped it for every bite.

Finally tried sliver and it was great! They only have one pizza flavor per day and the day I went was Yukon potatoes and corn and it was delightful. The corn was sweet but there wasn't a crazy amount which can over power the pizza and the potatoes were crispy even though it was on top of a pizza and under cheese. Also they had this cilantro pesto sauce which is so delectable to have with the pizza. My favorite part is the tiny sliver of pizza they put on top of every order it's so cute. Service is super fast as the pizza is already made, they just warm it up and pack it in a box before handing it to you. It's a typical fast casual place, you bus your self and order at the front.

Slivers is pretty good! Their green sauce and red sauce really adds another dimension of flavor for the pizzas.

This is a classic at Berkeley, and I'm glad they opened two locations. The unique part about Sliver is how they'll have a pizza of the day that you can only order. My favorite is the ones with corn or potatoes! The pizza is pretty thin, so you need at least 2 slices to be full. There's usually no sauce on the pizza - mainly dough, cheese, and the vegetable toppings, but I still like it. For more flavor, definitely dip it in the green sauce - it adds a salty kick to it!

We haven't grabbed a pie at Sliver in a while and part of the reason is that often the pie of the day isn't something we crave. Tonight we stopped by and they had mushrooms, feta, mozzarella, red onions red sauce etc and we went for it. Lot of pizza for $30 and I like that they toss extra slices on top - we couldn't barely eat half of it so we packed it to go. They have gotten kinda restrictive with water cups and those teenie tiny containers for the green and red dipping sauces - which is ridiculous. A thorough wipe down of tables would also be appreciated and the guy who sat there playing their piano loud and badly our entire meal was also not a welcome addition to what was a good pizza. Better than our last few visits.

Pizza of Day 9.68/10- I love how this place has rotating flavors. This week's was Yukon gold potatoes which was so good. It's pretty cool how the pizzeria is "field to table" and focuses on sourcing high-quality, fresh produce ingredients for their slivers. The slices are pretty thin and can be almost compared to flatbread, but pack lots of flavor and is very filling. They're famous for their herb green sauce which pairs perfectly with the pizza. Checked out sliver before the Cal football game and it was the perfect bite! What's cool about this place is that they have a new flavor every day. This time it was a corn, potato flavor with the pesto topping. Omg I wish i could jar their pesto. The service was great. Our cashier was very nice and told us a bit more about the concept. Turns out they work directly with California farmers! Cool fun college hangout.

I tried Sliver for the first time back in college and have been obsessed with it ever since. Whenever we go visit Berkeley, I make it a point to stop by Sliver Some important info on Sliver: * Vegetarian Pizzas only * One type of pizza a day (sometimes, I'll check the other location if I don't like the flavor served at this one) * Green sauce is a must I don't love corn, but Sliver makes corn delicious. This spot is pretty quick and simple - you order at the counter and eat wherever you want. They also serve wine and salads. Sometimes, I'll order some pizza to eat there then the half-baked pizza to take home, so I can share a "fresh: batch with others. Final reminder: Do not forget the green sauce!!! I want to dip everything in this sauce.

Sliver makes atypical, veggie-forward pizza combinations that somehow taste incredible. I visited the Sliver on Telegraph in October, and they had a sweet potato pizza that day that my friend and I absolutely fell in LOVE with. We literally went two days in a row. We all liked the first day better - it was potato, corn, kale, and feta pizza which sounds random but worked so well. The thing that makes Sliver Sliver is their green sauce. It's literally crack.

We love Sliver Pizzeria because it serves delicious pizza and it is committed to fighting human trafficking. Their team also believes in the "field to table" concept and focuses in sourcing fresh produce ingredients. This location is more spacious than the previous one at Center Street. With the move, it joined a lot of eateries along Telegraph Avenue. If we're nearby, we always check the Pizza of the Day from their website. Cremini mushroom and corn are the ingredients that we always keep an eye on. If they're available, then there's a big chance we will come. Their green and red sauces make the drive worth it.

Extremely disappointed with the service !! I have to pick one star coz that the lowest you can go. It is a pity what has become of this nice downtown location. The bald hispanic guy at the cash register was extremely rude. He kept ignoring us and did the bare minimum of what was being asked of him. Had a frown on his face the whole time. I was there with my family and he had issues giving us cups for water. The place wasn't busy at all. Someone needs to tell him how to deal with customers or he should not be customer facing.

Berkeley staple. Been coming to sliver since undergrad when it was originally just a storefront on Center, but it has definitely grown so much. Service is average. Definitely more of a hangout spot now instead of just eating. Lots of big tables for large parties of people. Really like how the menu changes everyday. Their best pizzas are the ones with potatoes or mushrooms! Smart idea to make all the pizzas vegetarian to appeal to more people!

Big spacious inside with lots of Halloween decor already! They have a pizza flavor of the day which is pretty cool. The slices are fairly thin, and this one came with an amazing dipping sauce - tangy with lime and cilantro. Made for a great picnic meal. Ordered two and they came out pretty fast! There's options for parking along the street and nearby, but it is pretty filled up so you might have to drive by multiple spots to find a lot with an opening, especially on game day for Berkeley.

The corn pizza is amazing here!!! Definitely get it if they have it on the day they go since they change the type of pizza everyday. It's a cheese-based pizza and is similar to like a flat bread almost. It's also super cute because they put tiny slivers of pizza on top of it. The service is very fast and they heat it right there for you! Inside is spacious and super clean as well. Definitely a Berkeley staple if you're craving a thinner pizza w/ the perfect amount of cheese & toppings! Make sure to squeeze a little lime and dip it in the green sauce!!!

Mmmm, there is just something about pizzas being made fresh! Our pizza tasted so good, it was very cheesy and oily and that's how I love my pizza . Enjoy!

My favorite pizzas, and my favorite ones are the ones with corn super friendly staff even gave me an extra slice. There are couches with a tv and piano if you want a comfortable at home experience. Highly recommended :)

Corn and potato pizza here has my heart I've been going to Sliver since I was in college, and it's great to see they have more locations. This one is extra roomy, great for big groups! Only thing is it's in a busy area - I'd walk or Uber instead of driving. Look online for what the flavor of the day is!

My first time here, happy to report that they do give extra slices at this location! I heard they don't at the EB location. It was a bit crowded on Sat night but not too loud and was still able to snag a table. The green sauce is really good (almost like chimmichurri?), the orange had a sweet spicy kick to it. Parking can be tricky but there are spots nearby if you don't mind walking a block or two.

Really good pizza. LOVED the pizza of the day. Loved the setup of the seating. They ran out of the beer I wanted which was sad but minor. Only wish they had more options for pizza!

Sliver pizza rivals Cheeseboard and I love Cheeseboard so I was excited to try this. Somehow when I went to Berkeley, Cheeseboard was doing a corn pizza, and the following day Sliver was! I bought Sliver to take home on my road trip down to SoCal. I didn't eat it until a few hours later in the car, and I thought it was good. The next day I reheated Cheeseboard and Sliver and I ate Sliver first. It was a solid pizza, but Cheeseboard still takes it for me because Sliver's cheese blend just isn't as good. The pros for Sliver are that the wait is short so you're only expected to wait 10-15 minutes while the Cheeseboard line is long, but they move fast. Also, don't expect Sliver's green sauce to taste like Cheeseboard. It tastes more like salsa and isn't spicy either. Their red sauce is good too! I'd come back and try it fresh to compare next time.

Corn and tomato Sliver slice with the green dipping sauce is probably as close to heaven as a food will get. Every time we are in Berkeley, we stop in this place to get some pizza. Easy to order, fast, delicious. Just your easy pizza experience. I wish I went to Berkeley because I would've had Sliver pizza every day....

Their pizza of the day was delicious. I really Liked the pizza dough, very light, crunchy, non-greasy! It had golden potatoes. Surprisingly delicious!

We ordered the pizza of the day which was the Cremini Mushroom, Yellow Onions Mixed with Green Onions, Mozzarella, French Goat Cheese, Fresh Herbs, Infused Chanterelle Mushrooms-Garlic Olive Oil pizza. Our DoorDash driver delivered the pizza and when we opened it, it was NOT the pizza we ordered. It was comprised of entirely different ingredients and looked NOTHING like the Pizza of the Day advertised on their website. We tried to call the location from which we ordered and all we got was a recording saying "Sorry, the mailbox is full." No one at the restaurant answered the phone. We even tried calling another location, the Shattuck location, to see if they might have another number for the Telegraph location, and when we called Shattuck, all the number did was ring about 20 times and finally connected to a recording that said "Enter remote access code." No one at this restaurant location answered their phone either. Sliver does NOT deserve to be on YELP's Best list. In fact, they do NOT deserve to be on the YELP website at all. Clearly, they don't care about their customers and do not make themselves reachable when their customers try to reach them. All they care about is getting a customer's money! DO NOT EVERY ORDER PIZZA FROM THIS VENDOR!

When I was a young undergrad working on campus at the Graduate Assembly, we'd often have events that necessitated vast amounts of vegan/vegetarian friendly food that was delicious. Funny enough, now years after graduation, this might be my actual first time dining in and paying for the food with my own money. I usually must have meat with my meals, but Sliver's daily rotating menu of pizzas are so good, that I'm willing to go vegetarian just because the combinations are so perfect. By also including the infamous green sauce, the pizza reaches a whole level that my puny brain can't comprehend. Unfortunately, it sucks that there isn't more fierce competition with Cheese Board whose hours are the antithesis of good business practice.

The employees of this Sliver Pizzeria are the most professional and welcoming people I have ever met. I frequently visit because of their fantastic pizza, which is always fresh and delicious, and Louis, who is a wonderful person with the biggest smile, who makes me feel very welcome and ensures that I'm happy with everything, including my pizza. I feel like family to Louis, who is always kind to myself and my family. My friends often comment on how friendly and wonderful Louis was to them and how much he made them laugh when I recommend the place to them. And despite the days that can be difficult for me, Louis never fails to make me smile, and I sincerely appreciate everything that he does.

Sliver is my favorite pizza place in Berkeley! I love their crispy crust and rotating toppings. My favorite is when they have their yukon gold potatoes or mushrooms as part of their daily menu. I tried their chocolate chip cookie once before, but it was okay. They have a green sauce and a red/orange sauce. I prefer the red/orange sauce because it's slightly spicy and not as strong as the green sauce. They are pretty generous with the free slivers that come with every pizza order :) They have a lot of seating and theres usually a lot of empty seats, so it's a great place to hang out and eat with friends, even if you have a large group.

Delicious pizza! Nice and thin style. Good amount of chew to it. Veggies!! Fun flavors and concept for Berkeley style pizza. There's just one pizza flavor (veggie only) of the day. We happened to come on the day they had curry pizza. The flavor was lovely! Very aromatic curry flavor which was bright, and the yukon gold potatoes were cooked perfectly. Tender. The pizza was nice and cheesy with mozzarella and feta cheese. It was a fun pizza to try and I like how creative the veggie pizzas get. Very unique. The green sauce was pretty good with the pizza as everyone recommends. Very strong acidic kick to the salsa. I preferred the green sauce over the red sauce. It was pretty quick to get our slices and they even give you a little extra sliver of pizza! Cute!!

solid pizza and the potatoes are one of their best options. I have not had sliver in a while but I noticed that the crust is now sourdough, making it extra chewy and the green sauce is not as spicy as it used to be. for a carby, greasy indulgence, I would come to sliver. for better crust and cheese, I would go to Cheeseboard up North Berkeley.

I was visiting Berkeley after 2 years so I was looking up all the good food places in the area. Sliver came up so often so I knew I had to go. Little did I know that I would be so disappointed! I liked the overall concept of the restaurant where you have the "pizza of the day" as your main option (unless you want a classic cheese) and you can order a slice, 1/2 pizza or whole pizza. My group of friends and I ordered 1/2 pizza which was $14. The pizza of the day was roasted Yukon gold potatoes, Dino kale, mozzarella, Bulgarian feta cheese, lemon zest, cilantro, and garlic olive oil. Sounds interesting, right? Unfortunately, it was so bland and I couldn't even taste all those ingredients. I've had potatoes on pizza before but this pizza just didn't have any sauce or flavor! It was basically a flatbread when we were expecting an actual pizza. We even added the "famous" green sauce and the red hot sauce which definitely helped enhance the taste of the pizza but it just wasn't enough. Maybe we just got unlucky with the pizza of the day. I would consider giving this pizzeria another shot but the pizza of the day really has to sound amazing for me to go back to this pizzeria over all the other restaurants in the city!

We had the pizza of the day. I like the concept, they have a pizza of the day and cheese pizza. It makes the decision super simple. They have regular and vegan pizza. The staff were super nice especially considering we came in a few minutes before closing. The location is spacious, clean, and welcoming. We had the vegan pizza with corn, cilantro, herbs, onions, vegan cheese, etc. It was really delicious.

Their pizza is the BEST!!!!!! he is down the best vegetarian pizza I've ever ate in my life. It is worth everything and more. the service was immaculate. My good friend agent hooked it up with the sauces. I love the fact that they give you extra pizza with your order!!!

This is my first time trying this place out. Omg , the pizza is delicious and the green sauce makes it even better . You gotta try this place out , I got the gold Yukon potato pizza .

Terrible place with bad staff leave your experience to be catastrophic. We had visited here over 50 times and we needed to go use the bathroom and we were going to order the pizza after we used the restroom. The staff guy was so rude he physically blocked us as we were going to the bathroom. The staff made us feel like criminals and interrogated us as to whether we will actually buy something. They said "Restrooms are for customers only" very rudely! They treat you like you are trying to defraud them and disregard the fact that we actually had purchased 100s of pizza from them honestly! I am never coming back for the way I was treated by the staff. This exact thing happened to me at the other sliver too so I can clearly tell that this is a part of their policy!

The corn pizza and potato pizza are their best pizzas! The service is fast and if you want to order multiple boxes, their website is very convenient and easy to use.

Wow I don't think I've ever had pizza this fresh before, and the sauces were so fresh and delicious. A+ totally coming here next time I'm around!

Sliver hits the spot for a very solid pizza that satisfies your craving without breaking the bank. I'm usually not a fan of thinner crust but these pizzas are loaded with flavor. Even the cheese is THICK and cheesy so it's satisfying. We tried a Mexican inspired daily special with corn, lime, and other toppings that was very solid on its own. We shared two full among four hungry hikers and felt QUITE satisfied upon leaving. The complimentary green sauce was decent but nothing that special imo. It tasted something like a salsa more than an herb sauce which I would have expected. I liked it with the cheese, but the special is well crafted in its own and didn't need it. Lots of seating inside and pizzas are fast!
