We went there for the first time and was given a warm welcome with the wonderful smile. Then we saw apart from cheese pizza , they had just one veg pizza as the veggie option . No doubt the taste of pizza was great and the best part I liked was their green chutney , I just can’t get enough of it .Also loved the ice cream scoop of the coffee flavor and I feel at the present the prices are very reasonable. Yes I am definitely going again!

Haven’t had their pizza for a while so I thought I’d give it a go. To my surprise there was absolutely no one in the restaurant so the service was very quick. The restaurant is very clean and well appointed. Located in a busy and walkable area of Berkeley. The pizza was ready straight away but I’ll be honest, is that a good thing when it appears they have no business? How fresh was it?! Took it home and it was okay. I do think it’s been sitting for a wee bit but wasn’t cold or hard. So that’s a plus! The flavor was good and their green sauce was yummy! I liked they were very generous with their sauce for no extra charge. What I didn’t like is that the crust on about 1/4 of the pizza was so thin it was too crispy and browned.

I finally understand the Slivers hype! It might sound odd to have a pizza shop that only offers one flavor per day, but these flavors are awesome! 🍕 I was lucky enough to be visiting for their legendary potato pizza. It includes goat cheese, baby kale, and a delicious white sauce. I couldn't get enough, it wasn't overly oily or heavy and left me feeling so satisfied. Pizzas come with their special ""green sauce"" which was kind of like a mint chimichurri. This was a great compliment to the already delicious pizza. 👩🏻‍🍳 This specific location has plenty of inside seating, I was ordering my box to go. I love how they give you two extra slivers of pizza on top of the full size, I ate them as I walked to my destination! Service was so friendly and warm, I had a lovely experience. I get why all Berkeley students reccomend Slivers!

My friends and I love this pizza spot. It definitely gives us Berkeley nostalgia. Our favorite kind is their pizza with Roma tomatoes.

Great place to get a slice or pie. Make sure to look at their daily pizza before going though or you may not like the toppings before you get there. That said, the combinations of ingredients is always impressive and tasty. Don’t skip the green sauce.

We were craving for a good pizza on a chilly evening over the weekend. Sliver Guys have pizzas of the day and we got tomatoes, mozzarella, feta and one more kind of cheese pizza with pesto sauce dressing. On top of it there were two more sauces red and green. Everything was finger licking good. The service was great and we got our pizza in just 7-8 minutes. Meanwhile we enjoyed piano. There are multiple sitting areas and piano if you like to play. There is a chess club around the corner where you can play after having your pizza. Highly recommend this pizza place..

Their daily pizza was really good. We had the corn, peppers, mozzarella, blue cheese and onion pizza. They've just 1 pizza per day so it's real fast and they customize in that pizza. They have vegan options as well. The location is good but need to look for parking a bit. Their sauce is really good, probably worth taking some home

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. They have different pizza menu every day and each one tastes absolutely amazing. I wonder how they make a vegetarian pizza taste so good. Worth the price. They have rich flavors. And their mint sauce is the best!

I love coming here! The food is amazing, the environment is always so welcoming, and the music is always great. Luis always has a great attitude and he provides amazing service. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Sliver has their recipes down! I'm not usually a huge fan of thin crust but they sold me on theirs--perfect texture! Definitely recommend the green sauce. Quick turnaround time is an extra bonus. Would return & recommend!

Sliver - the only place that can make me have potato on my pizza. Known for quality and quantity, Sliver has it all, but it is surely an acquired taste. It takes a while for it to grow on you but once it does, there's no going back. I've had a variety of their pizzas but this one with feta, sun-dried tomatoes, and potato may be my favourite. It's crunchy on the edges and soft otherwise. Best served with their in-house pesto. Service is always quick and they're happy to customize pizzas for you in case you'd like something more or less (dependent on ingredient availability of course), and always consistent in taste. There's nothing fancy about the ambiance, it's a classic American pizza place, which only adds to the charm!

The sliver pizza here is not as good as the other locations I've been to based on the texture of the pizza. Affordable price and green and red sauce are delicious to go with the pizza. The texture of the pizza was almost like cardboard, which I've noticed sliver pizza turns when it turns cold. When it's fresh it usually is nice, hot, and cheesy. I didn't get a cheese pull when I bit into the pizza. I also don't like how sliver sauce cups are super tiny now.

Great vegetarian pizza. Amazing price point. Hate this location because of how hard it is to park so either don't bring a car or have someone circle the block while you get your to-go order! Their green sauce will always be a comfort for me and their pizza reheats super well.

Checking out a bunch of pizza spots! I liked the corn topping and green sauce, but our crust was super pale and kind of gummy. Tasted undercooked. So I probably wouldn't be back but I'm glad I tried it!

Walking the Berkley campus and heard that this is one of the frequented chill pizza places in the area. ATMOSPHERE: This place feels like the quintessential college pizza place with metal chairs and a concrete interior. You order at the front and pick up your food once it's ready. It felt great to eat in that environment and just have a chill time. FOOD: We got a half order of the pizza of the day. It was delicious. The crust was thin and crispy. They add "slivers" of extra pizza on top that were a bit chewy and stale (not super fresh compared to the rest of the pizza) but I was so hungry I actually just appreciated the extra food. The green sauce is a must try, basically has a cilantro lime flavor. SERVICE: Casual dining - order at the front, and the food is prepared quickly. PRICE/VALUE: Good amount of pizza for the price! Half pizza is probably enough for 2 people with medium-sized appetites. Overall really happy I tried this place out!

The hype around Sliver is real! The pizza of the day isn't going to be for everyone every time, but from my personal experience, I've never had a bad pizza. Thin slice pizza with the perfect combination of toppings every time. Some have definitely been clearly better than others, but I've always left Sliver feeling satisfied. MUST TRY: green sauce! I like to kind of drizzle it as I take each bite, while I've noticed others will pour it all over at once before eating, or dip it as they eat. Staff are friendly, food comes out pretty quickly after you order, and there's ample seating with a casual vibe inside.

Sliver is as good as the reviews says and I always make an effort to stop by when I'm in the area. This pizza of the day had sweet potato and a bunch of other ingredients that were so good. A must is to get generous amounts of the green sauce to dip or pour on your pizza. The sauce is delicious with any of their pizza of the day flavors. The pizza crust and bread doesn't flop and has a subtle crunch with every bite. Writing the review is making me want to get another slice.

If you have never been to Sliver's before, you definitely gotta give it a try. As an OG staple in Berkeley, the pizza along with their green sauce is why Slivers is a must-come place to go to. When you order, you can order a whole pizza or a half pizza. And you can do half and half as well, but with a choice of cheese and one of the other pizza options such as (mushroom, corn, potato, etc.) I got the corn pizza and when you open it, it smells divine along with the thin crusty breading and oozing cheese. With some green sauce and lime in addition, man it is gooooood. The pizza itself is already delicious, but add that green sauce in, and it is just a grand combination. The green sauce is like a cilantro-based sauce in my opinion and guess, but something about it is addictive. You can't just have a little, you gotta have a lot a lot. If you haven't tried this place yet, definitely come by!

Clean and roomy place near Berkeley downtown Bart station. Service is efficient, just order, pay at the counter and they call to pickup when it's ready. Bus your water and tray. Thin crust corn pizza came quick. Came with lime wedges minus the legendary cilantro sauce ($.75 each 1 oz). Minus one star for this. Give it a try if you're in Berkeley.

I almost feel silly writing a review because Sliver is such an iconic establishment but here we are as this review is long overdue. I stopped by their Downtown Berkeley location on a recent visit to the East Bay. The last time I visited was at their old location on Center Street. The new restaurant next to the BART station is much more spacious inside compared to the last one but a part of me was sad to see the long outdoor wooden tables in front were no more. The pizza is still incredible and am glad to see some things haven't changed over the years. My favorite, the corn pizza was on the menu that day (thank goodness). I honestly would have no problem downing an entire half (or even a whole pizza) here. Also, the cilantro sauce on the side is absolutely amazing I could almost drink it. Also, just fyi the dairy free pizzas are only sold by the pie and not the slice.

A Berkeley staple. My favorite is the corn potato pizza. A whole pie was $28 as of Dec 2023. Service isn't super friendly. But it is what it is. You just order at the counter and wait for them to call out your pizza. Sauce-flation has hit Sliver. What used to be unlimited sauce green sauce cups are now given based off the size of the pizza you order. A whole pizza gets you 3 cups. Additional small cups are 75 cents each whereas a larger container of sauce is $6.

This place is a knockoff of cheeseboard. First, I saw one of the workers place his backpack on top of the counter - the same place where the food is prepared. Then I was not even acknowledged. I can see why I mainly see students frequent this place - people who have been around to countless eateries know better than to give these people any money. The health department needs to pay this place a visit.

A cornerstone of my education. I've been out of school for a bit now but nothing hits home like a slice of slivers. The quality hasn't changed in all these years and I love the green sauce. Their topping combinations are always the best and I love how thin they are. When we went, they had potato, corn, and avocado sauce. No one can ever tell me potato doesn't belong on a pizza.

I ordered ahead online for the Shattuck location for the pizza of the day, which was corn, pineapple, chile pasilla, mozzarella, french feta cheese, cilantro-lemon zest, and garlic olive oil. You can order online for pickup either on their website or on DoorDash, either way the prices are the same (in fact it appears they're using the DoorDash client for Sliver's own online ordering). The only catch is that you can only order ahead a whole pizza and you cannot order a half pizza, a slice, or a sliver. I'm still glad I did because I was able to skip the long line at noon from the lunch rush. I only saw two people working the front but they were doing a good job with handling the long line. The workers included a complimentary bag with small amounts of sauces. The pizza itself was delicious, I personally do like pineapple on pizza, and it was warm and had plenty of thick, flavorful cheese, so great for any dairy lovers. I didn't find the cilantro-lemon zest to be overpowering (but I'm also not someone who finds the taste of cilantro intensely negative). Though they apparently used chile pasilla, it was not enough for me to find the pizza spicy at all. They also included slivers which is great since when I've gone to a few other Sliver locations like the Oakland Uptown and Montclair, they unfortunately did not throw in any slivers when you order a whole pizza, but this might just be a reflection that these non-Berkeley locations receive lower traffic and actually bake the pizzas to order instead of having to mass prepare a bunch to handle the lunch or dinner rush. The Shattuck location does have a couple of outdoor tables. There are also some other free tables in the downtown Berkeley BART plaza, but the chairs tend to be popular around noon.

Excellent service, friendly vibe, and delicious pizza! The staff gave us samples to try before we got the pizza of the day with the intoxicating sauce, which sealed the deal. We loved that we were able to customize the cheese on the gluten free pizza, and the food was ready in no time. The chewy and crunch crust, the ample seating area, what's not to like? The dance music was fun too!

The hype from locals may have impacted my 4 stars vs 5, but I just appreciate how quickly the line passes. We ordered the half pizza and that day, they had tomato pesto. They gave us a couple extra pieces of it as well. That could be just how they normally operate? Not sure, but I'm not complaining. :) We arrived right around 1:00pm before the rush of people came and we waited 5 minutes to order and 10 minutes for the pizza, so very quick. There's quite a lot of seating available and we had no trouble finding one right away even though it was busy. Don't forget to get the extra sauce! It was so good. Overall, I don't think this pizza is amazing but they have high quality ingredients with a decent crust. I have had better pizzas at this price range before.

Oh my goodness. I love this place so much! You can have regular or vegan cheese. You can purchase a sliver, a slice, half, or a whole piece. Very cost-effective any way you go. The service was ok. You place your order and they call put 'half pizza" "whole pizza" which is a but confusing because numerous people can place an order and you don't really know if its for you or not. Receipts aren't checked, so anybody can walk in off the street and act like they ordered. It didn't appear to me that they recalled who was who, especially when it got busy. So be alert if it is busy when you place your order. The ambiance was as one would expect for a pizza place on Shattuck. The music was nice. They had a great play list going. All in 6 stars!!!

Whenever I go to Berkeley, I always get excited to get some Sliver Pizza! It's so freaking good! The whole pizza is about $28 but it's honestly worth it! The green sauce is addictive. Always gotta take a lot of to-go containers home. The flavors change daily. I got to try the corn, baby heirloom tomatoes, red cabbage, mozzarella, feta cheese, lemon zest cilantro, and garlic olive oil. Everything worked so well together. Not too greasy and loaded with toppings. Service was fast. Downside is when I called to order ahead, they didn't answer but now I understand why. It's because they are obviously short staffed. Lots of seating here! Very clean.

My entire family got food poisoning from here. None of us have slept or been able to hold down any foods or liquids in 18 hours. My brother is still writhing in pain. The food poisoning was so intense that my poor mother had to go to the Emergency Room. All right before thanksgiving too ... which I now doubt we will be able to attend nor enjoy after this. Looking now I can see a few other reviews stating that others have experienced the same thing ... I would save yourself the potential pain and not risk it for the pizza, which has fallen far from grace in terms of quality. Ours tasted like a rubber disk.

Very unique, flavorful pizza. Fresh, and didn't expect the squash to hit. Easy ro order, and friendly.

Very tasty pizza. Poor operation. There was only one person at the counter. They don't use ticketing numbers or customer's names. So the poor lady was constantly shouting out the orders like "one slice!" or "who's waiting for one whole pizza and two slices!?". It's a miracle this system works. They have only one kind of pizza a day. So, ordering is easy in that sense. You just have to pick the portion size - whole pizza, one half, just a slice etc...

I want to preface this by saying that I love Sliver! It was an absolute staple for me throughout college, but I ordered a pizza yesterday and got food poisoning. I'm hoping this can bring attention to a particular bad batch.

Pizza is solid and more interesting than cheap / standard pizza joints with pepperoni and such. I enjoy the variety, some corn or potato on the pizza. I do find it a touch pricy for what it is though, and the pizza is always quite oily. I imagine it would be almost as good but a lot healthier with much less oil.

Friendly and fast service. The sauce is super good and I love the sauce. Very similar to Arezimendi

Omg this pizza hit the spot!! The flavors were so good I can tell they put a lot of thought into their ingredients. We got the pizza of the day which consisted of potatoes, tomatoes, mozzarella, pecorino, spinach and garlic oil. My go to pizzas always have meat on it and although this one didn't it was surprisingly delicious. The green sauce was also pretty good, kind of reminded me of a zhoug sauce and paired well with the pizza. To top it off the service is great, restaurant is clean and the owner is very welcoming. Really impressed with this place and looking forward to what they come up with next!

I come back to visit the Bay Area 1-2 times a year and every time I go I always make sure to get Sliver. It reminds me of all the best times I've had at UC Berkeley. My favorite pizza to get here is the one with the corn, potatoes, cilantro and lime. Unfortunately, the one I got this time did not have lime but that's okay it was still great anyway.

Stumbled upon in the afternoon around 4pmish on a Friday and it was fairly vacant. Lots of spacious seats to sit and enjoy at. Ordered a slice of the day which was the roma tomatoes pizza I believe. Service was fast and easy. I had to use the restroom and the code was given without complications. The pizza slice was superb and I love the way they placed it just like their logo design. Thats a nice touch! The thing that I really enjoyed were the sauces. The green sauce is very fresh and herby and a bit acidic/sour which I loveee! Then the red sauce was also refreshing with a small kick of spice! The sauces really amplified the pizza. The sauces would also be amazing on tacos! Definitely will come back to try other stuff on their menu.

I love the concept of how Sliver changes their pizza menu everyday. It spices up the pizzas here and I don't risk getting bored of pizzas too quickly. My favorite pizzas are the ones with corn or the ones with potatoes. The corn adds a nice pop of flavor. All the pizza options here are vegetarian and I think you can request vegan options if needed. Depending on the size of pizza you ordered, you can grab a few complimentary green sauces. I absolutely love adding the green sauce onto my pizzas and would highly recommend. They aren't too spicy and add a nice, refreshing touch. Sliver can get very busy during lunchtime. Today I narrowly missed a huge line that went from the counter all the way to the entrance. Most of the other times though, the lines are short to nonexistent. which is nice. One of the slight downsides I found about Sliver is that the prices are a bit high compared to other pizza places around here. A half pizza is $14 and a whole pizza is $25 (which ends up at about $27-28 with tax). But generally Sliver is a place where I treat myself to some cool pizzas once in a while so I don't mind shelling out that much occasionally.

Sliver is definitely inspired by Cheeseboard pizza. The menu has many of the same pizza's. Sliver's crust is slightly different than Cheeseboard because its crust has less chew than Cheeseboard. This location gets busy but they move the lines fast. My only critique is put more toppings especially the corn.

Have heard so many good things about this pizza place, and luckily they had a pizza flavor that sounded amazing on the day we went to the Berkeley. Corn & Yukon gold potato flavor - pretty yum! If I could change one thing, it would be removing the feta cheese. Not a fan of feta. But otherwise every bite that had potato in it was soo good. The green (cilantro/mint?) sauce was also great! Love that they have the slice/sliver/half pizza options for those who just wanna taste the flavors. We got a half pizza and they gave 2 slivers on top of it, which was absolutely perfect size for us. Pretty fast and quick too. Nice to sit outside and have a slice. Would return to try other flavors if coming again to Berkeley!

Is this REALLY a 5-star pizza spot?! Probably not. But I absolutely love the cheese pizza/green sauce combo. It is so good and I'm often finding myself craving it right around 12pm. The taste is so unique and I've never had anything like it.

Sliver has a few locations in Berkeley now and I walked by one so decided to get a slice. Sliver is unique because it only serves whatever is the pizza of the day in various sizes (slice, half, or full pizzas). If you order a slice, it comes with a sliver. Today I had the Curry Potato Yukon Gold Potato ($3.50 for a sale) which wasn't bad. However, I was hoping it wouldn't the be anything with potato since it feels heavier. The pizza was only lukewarm so the cheese wasn't melted. The curry flavor balanced well with the lemongrass and feta cheese. I topped the slice off with their signature green sauce which has a nice kick to it.

$4 pizza! There is also a $2 option which will get you just the sliver. The pizza itself was a bit oily in my opinion but they had these two sauce options for the pizza that was on the side that was really good. But the pizza reminded me more of garlic bread. Still pretty good though!

Honestly some of the BEST pizza I've had (including NY pizza). I love the concept of only 1 pizza a day and everything I've had there has been amazing. If you aren't going to eat the pizza right away, I would suggest getting it half-baked. We have walked to the glade a few times with the pizza and it's definitely not tasted as good as in store or straight out of our oven. Our favorite flavors are the potato and corn, but honestly everything they come up with is amazing. This place is DEFINITELY a must-visit when in Berkeley. Also love how every slice comes with a sliver. The green sauce is such a good complement too! Service is incredibly fast and there are nice places to sit inside!

It is always a pleasure to come all the way from Ceres just to enjoy quality pizza and receive such amazing hospitality from señor Luisito. Always a great experience!

A Berkeley classic! With its rotating menu, it's hard not to want to visit everyday. Last week, we got a potato pizza with corn on top. This is my personal favorite of theirs! It's so filling, and the thin crust texture is perfect. I'm also such a sucker for their green sauce; I always ask for extra! I definitely recommend Sliver for your next pizza party :)

I like most of their pizzas, but there are definitely some that I prefer over others. I really like how they use local ingredients that are in season. Since they only serve one type of pizza a day, they're recipes seem very perfected & the pizza always tastes fresh! At my most recent visit, their pizza of the day was a crimini mushroom pizza, which was pretty good! Don't forget to try the sauces - the green sauce is honestly the best part! This was a staple when I was a student at Berkeley & I always look forward to visiting when I'm around!
