Ashley was a fantastic waitress. Great bbq place in Frankenmuth, better than Zenders. Right next to the water park hotel. Large menu. Sauerkraut is delicious.

Google
The Smokehaus Burger Was Phenomenal. The Service Was Great & It Even Came With A Smile & Sense Of Humor… SloBones Was Highly Recommended By A Few People I Met At The River Place Shops. Thanks For The Good Time, Great Food, And A Few Ice Cold Beers… Cheers To Making My Day.

This place was quite pleasant. We went on a Sunday night around 630ish and though there were plenty of seats open we still had to wait a little over 20 minutes to be seated. This was completely fine because we saw they were hiring and assumed they were most likely short staffed. Once we got a table the waitress was very kind, prompt and accurate. We received our food in less than 15 minutes and it was accurate, quality and significantly plentiful for the price. I would recommend this place.

I was in town with the family for vacation and stopped in for dinner. I was pretty excited when I read the credentials of the pit boss in the menu. I ordered the 2 meat combo, pulled pork and smoked sausage. The pork was luke warm and cold in the middle. If that wasn't bad enough, it was dry too. The smoked sausage was split in half and clearly reheated on a hot surface as the flat side was dry and approaching burnt. This place is surrounded by corn fields and farm stands selling excellent sweet corn yet they decide to use frozen corn on the cob that turns to a flavorless mush in the mouth. 3 adult meals and 2 kids meals came to $121. The best looking food on the table was the $5 PB&J. My 5 and 4 year old kids didn't even like their chocolate chip cookie. This place makes the "Mission BBQ" chain look like a 4 star Michelin rated restaurant.

Google
Had the two meat lunch. Pulled Pork and sausage. Pulled pork had a orange tint, maybe seasoning? It was just ok. Sausage was good. BBQ sauce was good. Cornbread was ok. Hot mustard was good.

Google
Menu items were very hit or miss. Process were higher than I would generally expect to pay at a similar establishment. Hits: rib tips, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, onion rings, variety of sauces Misses: sausage, sweet potatoes, burnt ends Not even in the ball park: corn bread muffins. Was like eating kinetic sand. They were SO dry. Could not be cut or buttered without disintegrating into a pile of crumbs on the plate. Service was friendly and efficient without being overheating. I also appreciate the online payment options via QR code on the bill. What was good was very good. I would return here knowing what was worth ordering and what would be leaving money on the plate. However, for a first time visit about half the items ordered by the group weren't up to par. The atmosphere was casual and good for conversation initially. A musician did come in to play later in the evening. Unfortunately the volume prevented conversation form that point forward.

Google
Went there for the burnt ends dinner. The burnt ends were not the traditional KC style that I am used to. They were big juicy chunks of brisket that were very tender. The house BBQ sauce was a nice touch. Hands down the best smoked meat I have had in Michigan. For sides I got baked beans that were amazing. They were loaded with beans and meat and tasted like they have been cooking all day. At the servers suggestion we also got the vegetable medley. I was a little skeptical, but they were good. Loaded with butter and seasoning and a nice char as well. Now let's talk about the corn bread .. WOW, they could serve this as a dessert. Light and fluffy, sweet with pieces of corn. All in all a great meal and well worth the $28 price. And if fed my wife and I.

Google
Held our 35th class reunion there. Food was excellent! Annie made planning so easy and was very helpful with food choices. Our server Olivia was amazing and kept our glasses full all night. The room was perfect for the 30 people we had

Yelp
Corn bread is made somewhere in China. Dry. Not home made I am 100% certain. You would think they would give you butter to at least attempt to cover the dryness. No. Too expensive I guess Pulled pork has no flavor at all. Ribs were just ok. They want 32 bucks per pound for brisket - don't offer it till 3. If you want a smaller portion the price per pound is more. Why?,?,,, pretty sure I am glad I arrived too early for brisket. I smoke foods at home. With pride. The guests suggested next time we just eat at my house. Fries were ok. Get bottled beer not draft. Lines are not clean. Service was very nice. Food, even though off the main drag is 100% tourist type.

Yelp
It's funny the atmosphere here reminds me more of a Southern Soul food restaurant that happens to serve bbq vs a bbq restaurant. I ordered the Bourbon Sirloin Tips dinner ($28). I got Baked Beans and asparagus with it, both premium sides so extra. The Sirloin tips were good, however the Bourbon sauce was unlike any Bourbon sauce I've had before. In this case that's not a good thing. It was saved though by the tables Slo's bbq sauce. The Baked Beans were excellent and slightly spicy. The asparagus was a big pass. I would have expected a bbq twist on it, however they were very plain. When you're seated they bring a generous slice of cornbread. It was excellent. They serve honey butter with it, I'd add cinnamon for a nice addition! The service was good. Friendly and helpful. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, but I'd get a different dish. I was surprised it wasn't busier for a Memorial Sunday lunch.

Yelp
Bar tender must have been a little stressed. Heard her say can't wait to not work Wednesday. As she worked on a carry out for 10 minutes. Thinking I need a drink and ready to order some food since I was short on time. But No. As she worked the local crowd. Which was small like six people and one who I would like to have kicked his ass... Deep breath, I have a simple order and for some reason, this "barmaid" has an attitude! Total Bullshit! I've taken and introduced a lot of people to this place. Tipped her last week $10. Bucks on a $20. Bill and she treats me like I'm sh!t?

Landon P.

Yelp
All I gotta say is come here the service immaculate and the food 10000/10 just wonder you need to come here when going to Frankenmuth

Natalie N.

Yelp
Food was cold and there was very little flavor to the smoked meats. Ribs were good and the service was very fast!
google avatar

Yelp
Place is super close to the gift shops, love that they have a outdoor patio! We had a pretty large party and we were seated pretty fast. The complimentary cornbread they served before our meal was a bit dry, even with the butter it was just okay for me, not a huge fan of it. I tried the giant burger that I kind of regret lol, I wasn't able to eat it only maybe 1/4 of it. The brisket in it was amazing tho! Next time I'll stick to a brisket meal. Also tried the spicy chicken sandwich and it was delicious, perfect spice and the chicken stayed crunchy even with the sauce on it.

Yelp
It's always more than one can eat. Love the slaw they use on the burgers. The fried potatoes were stunning. Service was wonderful considering how busy it was. It was $1 wings and sliders night. My only comment about the wings and sliders is they stop at 6:00. We didn't get to the restaurant and seated until 5:55. I have had the wings before and love the habanero hot sauce. Everything has just the right smokehouse flavor and tastes delicious. Highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Came for lunch Saturday. Yikes. First thing I noticed was- no BBQ smell. I knew we were about to be served left overs. Good menu, lots of choices, 3 of us ordered 2 meats with a side, 1 ordered pasta with pulled pork. About 3 minutes after we ordered, the waitress appeared with all of our food. There was not even time for them to warm it up in the microwave, it was room temp. SO disappointing. At least they could have served it hot. The pulled pork was a very rubbery consistency and not much taste. The bbq sauce was pretty good but no amount could improve the pork or the chicken quarters which magically took 3 minutes to prepare. I liked the French fries. That's sadly the end of the nice things I can say. Sorry but so gross.

Yelp
Good BBQ place in town. We came on $1 wings night and the wings are amazing. We also got ribs beans, greens, and sweet mashed potatoes. Everything was good. Wasn't super Smokey flavor but decent barbecue. Our food came out quickly. The waitress was nice and helped us order the right amount of food for the best price. The sauces were ok. My favorite was the Carolina mustard. They didn't have a "sweet sauce" and had 2 hots in the 5 sauce selection. I don't eat cornbread but my 5 year old liked it. Cool atmosphere and love the lighting. The pricing isn't horrible considering it's a restaurant in a resort town. Our meal was $40 and we had food left over. We'll definitely be back again.

Yelp
We came in for an early dinner on Saturday. Service was quick. Everything was super tasty and Everybody was nice and full. Good portions. Good location across the street from Riverplace Shops. The waitress was great

Yelp
Get off Main Street and grab some GOOD food at Slo' Bones. This place is the bees knees for sure! Great food, exceptional service, very casual, plenty of parking, full bar and good prices. Not the tourist prices with crap food they are calling German downtown. I know German food and Frankemuth doesn't have it so don't waste your time or money to be disappointed. Slo' Bones is where it's at. The lunch specials are a great price for portion and done very well. We started with Burnt Ends. This are brisket pieces smoked and cooking in sauce (sometimes). I loved the flavor and portion was a great shareable for the three of us. I order the korean smoked wings. Mom had a combo and bonus dad had the meatloaf. The Korean wings were in a sweet Korean BBQ sauce - they are NOT traditional Korean wings. which was fine. I would have been shocked if they were anything but what I received. Slo' Bones is where we typically end up when we visit town, after a long day of walking around and need food. Get your protein load here!

Yelp
6 of us popped in for dinner....all of us left happy and stuffed. Inside the restaurant is non descript...don't expect oodles of atmosphere...you're here for the food. Our server was excellent...made recommendations and was a pleasure to deal with. I ordered the Beef Ends and pulled pork, with Mac N Cheese and baked beans. I was a bit disappointed with the Mac n cheese (personal preference), but the beans and meat made up for it. Couldn't finish my plate...which rarely happens...portion sizes are enormous ! The table next to us all had these massive stuffed baked potatoes on steroids....they looked amazing. Will go back to try one of those suckers. Price is very reasonable. Would recommend.

Brandon B.

Yelp
The hostess was very rude to me and my spouse when asking to sit at the bar, the couple that was in front of us complained about her as well. The menu still had left over food from the previous customers, the butter we had with our corn bread has a whole Piece of corn with it. The server was very nice, the manager seemed to be no where around when asking the server. Overall the day we came was not too busy compared to other restaurants and I would give 0 stars if possible
google avatar

Cleveland J.

Yelp
Bbq flavor was just okay. Meat didn't taste very smoked and grilled corn I ordered arrived ungrilled. When it was grilled it had no flavor. Likely indoor grilled and not on a real grill. Sides were okay except for greens which were not good at all. Corn bread and butter was a hit at our table. Nice clean place with good service. Maybe grab a beer at the bar but that's all I can suggest
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great service, music in the evenings on the weekends. Away from the business of downtown.

Yelp
I recently visited Slo' Bones BBQ Smokehaus during an event held by a statewide veterans group. There were about 40 persons in attendance. We visited on a Saturday and stayed for 3 hours. The staff was very accommodating, allowing time for us to introduce each other and enjoy renewed friendships and camaraderie. Drink orders came first, then food orders were taken. We ordered from their standard menu. As you may imagine, filling 40-some food orders all at one time can be a daunting task. However, delivery to the various tables was done in an orderly manner and soon we were all sharing stories over the delicious meals. I didn't hear any complaints from my vantage point! I ordered a brisket sandwich, with fries. The brisket was tender and well cooked, however, I did not detect any smoke flavouring. Probably because of the size of our group, a 20% gratuity was added to my bill. I remember when common restaurant gratuities were 14%, then they started to creep up from there. I consider 20% to be for excellent service. I suppose less-than excellent service could be discussed for a lower gratuity. All in all, this is a nice restaurant, just a block off of the main drag in Frankenmuth. I recommend.

Jason H.

Yelp
Evan , I think, our server was awesome. Friendly helpful and attentive. The food was awesome . My wife had the ribs and I had the smoked bratwurst. Both of our meals were delicious. The best , wink, was the in house made giant serving of fresh pork rinds! Delicious! Good beer selection too.

Yelp
Our family has come here quite often. We normally love eating here, but tonight's experience will probably be our last. Our waitress was wonderful, but outside of that a complete disappointment. I ordered the sausage platter and my husband ordered the $28 two meat platter. We were blown away by the ridiculous small portions he received. He had two chicken wings and maybe 1 whole sausage link. We asked for management and said there must of been a mistake. She said no mistake. This is their new pricing and portions. She was somewhat apologetic but no change was made to our food or bill. We also realized that the pork rinds (which used to be free) are now $8?! The portion size of that was a small basket. This used to be our favorite place, but we will not be going back

Luanne H.

Yelp
Excellent food and great service. Happy we found this place in a city that is known for its chicken dinners
google avatar

Jerry B.

Yelp
I had a half rack of ribs and coleslaw. They do bring cornbread tot he table and that was really good. The ribs, well... they had seen better days. They were anemic, dry, and small. I wasn't hungry and I was left still hungry. For $25.00, I was l was not impressed. The coleslaw was good. The atmosphere was nice and it was clean. The server was really nice and they did have a guy playing a guitar which was cool. It was a Saturday evening and it was empty. Three other tables and they were also visiting frankenmuth.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
I really hate to give a low score, however, to be fair to the next person who reads reviews to go to a restaurant, this needs to be said. The place is clean, the wait staff is very friendly, and that's about where they drop the ball. They get ready for views on their cornbread, and it is almost like eating yellow cake with cornmeal in it. I was very fair in ordering several things in order to give my review. The brisket was dry, the ribs were mediocre in flavor. They bit off the bone pretty good but that's where it stopped. The smoked turkey I have to say was the worst I have ever had. It was dry as cardboard and definitely had no flavor but smoke. I know Turkey doesn't have a lot of flavor to start with but I would expect that it wouldn't be like jerky. The sauces were nothing that stood out also. For the money I would say, save yours. I don't do this often but seriously, I think people candy coated their reviews for this place.

Jeff C.

Yelp
The service was sub par at best and it was by no means busy. The coffee was the worst I've ever tasted burnt and nasty. $67 dollars for one meal hubs only had appetizer I don't like to give really bad reviews but the food was awful everything tasted old cornbread was basically dry crumbs will never return and will definitely not be recommending
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
We stopped here after the world expo of beer for dinner. 30 minutes to be seated, 40 minutes to get your food. The cornbread appetizer was made properly but not warm. I had the 3 meat combo (3 ribs, 2 brisket and 4 sliced sausages with 2 sides ( they up-charge 99 cents for "premium sides" that I guess mac and cheese and 6 onion rings fall under) The Mac and was very good but unfortunately all the rest was average. The brisket was probably the best out of the meats but none of them were very smoked and could not be eaten "naked". They had about 5 sauces but only one called flaming hot was good. Good service. Indoor/outdoor seating. High/low/bar and booth seating. Unsure if they had wifi. Large rear parking lot. Average atmosphere but they did have blues music. Prices on the high end for BBQ. It's nice that Frankenmuth has a place that offers more than chicken but I think they need to step up their game a bit. I would not return.
google avatar

Steve F.

Yelp
Food and service is okay . Lunch portions are weak AF. Meats are weighed out to 2 oz. (This was explained to us by management) $8 for Pork Rinds that use to be complimentary is hard to swallow... I can't recommend this place, Once was better than average, now not so much!
google avatar

Kay F.

Yelp
My husband and I have come here often in the past, it has always been one of our favorites with service and food. With the exception of today it was less than good service and food, and the portion was the worst we've ever seen. My husband ordered a two meat lunch special for $20. He got one small piece of dried brisket and two tiny pieces of smoked turkey that did not have much flavor and a small portion of Mac and cheese. We used to order the pork rinds that were given to us as an appetizer, today when we asked for them, they charged us $7.99 for them. When we complained about portion size to the manager, she listen to us and said she would take it up with the Cook and the owner but never once offered to give us any sort of discount on our meal, knowing we were disappointed. Unfortunately, this will be the last restaurant that we will ever choose to go to again when we're debating barbecue.
google avatar

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Thought we would try something new while in town. Spent close to 100$ on two half rack of ribs and a two meat platter. Portion size was insanely small, the meat was a cheap quality and very fatty. The "sausage" was nothing more than a glorified hot dog. Extremely disappointed with the cost versus food quality/portion size.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Only 1 star. The service was good. The food tasted great. The quantity is a total rip off!! $17.00 and I got 2 wings and I slice of brisket. I mean really. If you come up here from the Bavarian Inn, eat hearty before you get here. This is the only place in Frankenmuth that was stingy with their offerings. With all the great food to be had in the village, you will be way farther ahead to eat down there.

Amy R.

Yelp
First visit and we will be back! Had lunch and Jen guided us on the menu choices that gave us a sample of all the favs!! We can't wait to bring friends in for dinner! Thanks Slo' Bones and Jen!
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Best thing of this place tonight was the Cold Beer ! Poor Service, slow, very unconcerned about her guests, food was far from Warm for all 5 of us . $200 dollars for sub-par , eat the chicken @ Zhenders !
google avatar

Ann K.

Yelp
I went to this place last week. The service was good. I ordered Caesar salad and asked to add chicken breast on it the order came with a small amount of shredded chicken no taste on it also the Caesar Salad was terrible also ordered pasta nothing special. not recommended

Jason B.

Yelp
Lunch . Brisket was dry,, turkey dry, cold chilli. Very small portion for lunch. Did look clean though Won't be back.

Jason W.

Yelp
Terrible service. Order was taken wrong several times by our waitress. Food was very underwhelming and lacked flavor other than saltiness.
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
Good bbq. Had the ribs, fries and loved them. Good location close to "downtown" Frankenmuth. Check them out.
google avatar

Bill A.

Yelp
I'm sorry but this bartender is very crabby and not attentive to her bar customers. We came back for autofest 2023 and truly the place has turned around. $1.00 wings are back on wed. and carlings black label along with Pabst Blue ribbon a buck and 10 cents off at happy hour. Thank You for a great day

Alfonso A.

Yelp
Food is great they hace a special on Wednesdays $1 wings a beer cant go wrong with that

Yelp
A hidden gem in Frankenmuth just off the beaten path. Simple to say this is a no frills place to get your brew and barbecue fix. I enjoy the brisket and the burnt ends.

Allen F.

Yelp
I would give this place NO STARS if I could. My wife and I were visiting Frankenmuth, and stopped here for dinner. When we walked in there was one family ahead of us at the hostess desk. The hostess said "I'll be right with you". The family ahead of us said they wanted to eat outside. Another couple had come in behind us. When the hostess called the family ahead of us, the couple behind us said "we want to be seated outside also". They walked past us and the hostess took them and seated them, as if we weren't there. When she returned she lead us to a table. We sat and waited and waited. Another family came in and was seated next to us. A waiter came and took their order. Then another family was seated on the other side of us. A waitress came and took their order. Cornbread and butter, as well as their drink orders were brought to both tables. I went to the hostess and asked why we had not been waited on when those who came after us we're getting their orders. She apologized and went and told the waitress. The hostess brought cornbread and soft drinks. The waitress kept us waiting until I had to approach the hostess again. The waitress finally took our order. The food was finally brought out. When we were almost done eating the waitress came by and asked if I wanted a refill on my coke. I told her yes. SHE NEVER BROUGHT IT. We waited and waited for the waitress to bring our check. She went to the bar area and started eating her own meal. Finally I was getting irritated and waved to the hostess. When she came over I said "Could we get our check?" She apologized again. She asked if she could bring anything else while I was waiting, and I told her I just wanted the check, and to get out of there. We were really hoping to have a nice dinner. We had not been to Frankenmuth for 24 years, and wanted to have nice NEW memories. This was not a good way to start our visit here.

Andi B.

Yelp
Great food and drinks!!! Service good too The burnt ends blue salad super delicious!
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
The staff was nice but the food was not good. Would not come back nor would I recommend this place to anyone else purely on the fact that the food is not worth it.

Krista K.

Yelp
We went there after 4 years because we weren't impressed. We were in town and decided to give it another try. Went there about 6 pm on a weekday. It was a bit slow but nice it wasn't crowded and we sat down right away. Ordered pork nachos- I give it a 3 out of 10. A fairly nice portion (for a small) Pork was good, cheese and chips were so salty I couldn't finish them- I could feel my ankles swelling as I was eating. $16 a lot to pay for something you couldn't eat all because of salt content. I will not return- I recommend Taco Bell if you want nachos.
google avatar

Misty H.

Yelp
My family suggested this place and we visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was great. Hostess was nice, the waitress was very nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food was served quite quickly and cooked well. We had catfish and pulled pork and it was all great. My kids also loved their kids meals, especially my son who's a "very selective" eater enjoyed the kids chicken fingers. The place was clean, the blues music over the speakers was a nice touch... We had a good lunch that day.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Decent Barbecue. I can't say great, as I've had barbecue all over the south. And I don't know of any place that can match it. Good beer selection. Good portions.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
I was hesitant to eat here because of all the negative reviews on here, but it was an overall pleasant experience. We were seated right away upon walking in. All of the staff were friendly; our waiter was very attentive and personable. We ordered the burnt ends appetizer, Jefferson chicken sandwich with a side salad, and beef brisket plate with vegetable du bone. The appetizer was very tasty; it went very well with the mustard sauce they had at the table. The mustard sauce was delicious but the other flavors we didn't care for much. The brisket was good and the veggies were kinda bland and unmemorable. The chicken sandwich had great toppings but it was a bit bland. I didn't really taste the creole sauce it comes with- should have added some of the mustard sauce to it but oh well. The ranch for the salads tasted homemade and was very good. The drinks we had were delightful. Everything came out in a timely manner. Overall, it was a good experience and the food was worth it. Definitely give this place a try if you have a craving for BBQ.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
So disappointing. We walked through town on a lovely Sunday afternoon and found this place, and it looked quaint and fun. And I ordered two appetizers for dinner: brussels sprouts and cauliflower. Each were $9.99 on the menu. I was served approximately 4 ounces of cauliflower and brussels sprouts that were tasteless and hard. Additionally, my son ordered the brisket dinner and received this portion pictured (maybe 5 ounces). Fortunately the barbecue sauce was very tasty because you needed lots of it to enjoy the dried out brisket. When I asked my server about the portion size, she simply said "yeah that's the normal portion size." I explained that I am in the restaurant business, and I know the server is just doing her job, but I would've expected her to grovel a little bit and maybe even offer dessert or something as a courtesy.
google avatar

Valerie M.

Yelp
This place was fine. It was okay. We didn't have any issues with our waitress, which always helps elevate an experience, especially when traveling with 2 young children. The decore fit the bbq themeing. The food was nothing special, but it also wasn't terrible. We ordered various meats and some of them were dry, some of them were done well, but none of them had a lot of flavor on their own. Their bbq sauces were good, which was a saving grace. The sweet potato and regular fries were excellent. We were visiting Frankenmuth and I think if we were to go back, we would try somewhere else for dinner.

Yelp
Stopped in off a whim during a day visit to Frankenmuth on a gorgeous Monday afternoon and had a surprisingly great Lunch on their beautiful patio. The wife got the Slo Burnt and Blue Salad which is topped with their Brisket Burnt Ends and the best Blue Cheese Dressing we ever had!! I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich that I added their Slo Sauce to and I don't know if I'll ever be able to try anything new there it was so good!! You could tell the staff cared about the place, the manager was running food, greeting guests, and he was even sweeping the floors. Selena was our server, she kept our drinks full, and recommended a couple bars in the area to checkout that were spot on. We'll definitely be back next time we are in the Frankenmuth area!!
google avatar

Kristin C.

Yelp
We came for brunch. Everything was really good. I highly recommend the breakfast wrap with the hash add on. The spicy bloody was really tasty as well. It wasn't busy at all which was nice so that we could relax with our drinks on a Sunday morning. I did kinda feel like the bartender was judging us but my friends did order shots at 10am...oh well.
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
Down the street from the main strip of Frankenmuth. Our wait time was pretty typical, our waitress was quick, and the food was good.

Cherry C.

Yelp
Friend and I went for a late lunch. Dry cold brisket, slightly underdone sweet potato fries, sad cold cornbread, and a nice-but-not-particularly-knowledgeable server when it came to beer (forgivable, but Labatts isn't remotely CLOSE to being a porter or stout). Besides that hiccup, the service was good, as were the (VERY hot) collard greens. Gorgeous day, but patio was closed. As in door locked and no one in the building had the key (according to the hostess). I don't plan on going back any time soon.
