12 Wonderful DFW Wine Bars

"This Grapevine Winery uses vines from the Texas High Plains and Hill Country, as well as California vines, to make its wines. Try it out in the tasting room or order a glass to go with the selection of items on its tapas menu." - Courtney E. Smith, Lauren Coe

Google
Had a lovely time here with a group of friends! Enjoyed making my own flight to try 5 different wines. Flatbread was really good, and came out hot. They have a nice selection of food that pairs well with the wines. Our server was super sweet and did a great job. She was pretty much running the whole place on her own, but did an amazing job! Will definitely be back to try some more wines and food.

Google
Service is great. The options and knowledge about each wine is memorable. We ordered one of the charcuterie boards and it didn’t disappoint. The different flights of wine had a ton of flavor. The price was great and there are many options of wine to try. I also recommend the different food options they have between the flatbreads and cheeseboards.

Google
Sloan & Williams Winery | Grapevine, TX Girls night. Questionable wine knowledge. Maximum vibes. Let me start by saying: I am not a wine person. And neither were the friends I went with—one of them chugged her first glass like it was a frat party, so take our wine opinions with a grain of salt (or maybe a cube of cheese from the charcuterie board). There were three of us, and we each ordered a different wine flight—Red, European, and Sweet—so we could pretend we were classy and cultured while secretly judging by “which one smells least like a Sharpie.” We paired it all with their charcuterie board, which was cute and totally snack-worthy. The service? Meh. A little lackluster. Not rude, just... uninterested. But honestly, the overall vibe carried the night. We laughed until we cried, made wild tasting notes (“this one tastes like church wine if church wine had ambition”), and felt our inner winos blossom. Then came the frozen wine flight (highly recommend for non-wine people) and a Margherita flatbread that hit the perfect post-flight snack craving. TL;DR: Not wine snobs? No problem. Come for the wine flights, stay for the laughs, and don’t skip the frozen flight or the flatbread. Just bring your own hype crew—because the service might not match your energy, but the memories will.

Google
Nice little winery, recently bought by Landon winery down the way. Love Landon and you can already see the similarities (fav is Jared in Greenville Landon)! Great wine selection, especially for Spanish white wines and trying something new. Nice charcuterie and flatbreads. Highly recommend wine flight. Will return’

Went to visit Grapevine, Texas and happened to pick this winery to do some tasting with my family. The place was clean, cozy and welcoming. Our wait staff Sarah was very attentive and informative in answering questions and giving us suggestions on which wine or cider we needed to try. The other staffs also really friendly and made sure that the kids got water and our glass of water never empty. Definitely recommended this place, not only for the wine, cider and the food but also the hospitality of their staffs.

Google
Abra was an amazing bartender!!! She saved us from some drunk freaks on the street honey, who tried to harass us! Go Abra!!!!

Google
A refreshingly different selection of wines, in a great location, with some excellent pairing options. We had some wine flights, and flatbread pizzas, service was great - and pricing was very fair. A great stop in Grapevine that I highly recommend.

Google
Great time! Mark, our bartender, was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. He was super considerate of the fact that we’re not wine experts and guided us in a way that felt welcoming, not intimidating. Whether you’re new to wine tastings or a regular, we’d absolutely recommend—10/10.

Yelp
Seen here a few times. It never disappoints. Well priced wines and very nice wine flight options. Food is great for nibbling.

Yelp
We visited the winery on a Friday evening and automatically heard the lovely live music. As we made our way toward the bar, the winery was filled with many guests! As we were seated, the bartender was friendly and helpful as we asked questions about various wines. He inquired about what type of wine we typically like and provided appropriate recommendations that we enjoyed. He took the time to truly understand our tastes and proceed. He was a brunette gentleman who was very friendly and personable to everyone sitting at the bar. We enjoyed conversation with him throughout the evening and he made our experience better! I absolutely loved the wine, it was delicious and the price for the wine flight was reasonable. Additionally, the charcuterie was delicious! We will definitely be visiting again. I highly recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Fun spot to grab wine! Live music on the weekends. Our server was great....was busy for a Saturday night. They offer different wines by glass, flight of bottle. Defiantly a fun spot to start your evening!

Yelp
Our bar attendant was Sarah she was AMAZING at suggesting wines for my husband and I. The gentleman Mike Allyn was a EXCELLENT singer and took our song request which he sang flawlessly. We had a wonderful time together i HIGHLY recommend everyone, no bar attendant chit chat drama to distract you from your experience.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! It's a must stop for me whenever I come to Downtown Grapevine. Please get their Figgy Piggy Flatbread, it's amazing! This is a winery but they also have a great Cider selection! Staff is always prompt and give great recommendations. The location is great, right on Main Street, it's spacious...it's never been too crowded the times I've been there. They have very good live music. If you like country music, definitely go when Willie Lain is playing, he is amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped in and tired a flight and the bruschetta. The this kid is really just a flatbread, but it was tasty. Just not what one would expect. Their flights are $12 for for 1 oz pores. I don't know if they have changed their menus recently, but the wines on the paper were not what I was served. They were scribbled out and written underneath. Not all of the wines I tried were on the menu, so no descriptions were given. They do have a happy hour, but it apparently doesn't start until 5. I wasn't really blown away by anything I tried.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
The wines here are very good!! Had the European flight and all the wines were on point! The Escudo Rojo Carmenere Reserva from Chili is probably one of the best wines I've had in my life! Peppery and complex. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the place has a cool vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
WINE IS FOR BROS! Bring your lady for a special experience! It's the amazing bar, old world exposed brick and a staff that makes you feel at home even if you don't know wine. The food presentation is world class and the flavors delectably refined. They are generous on tasting so ask to try the wine. The summer is a great time to try their frozen wine selection. Get there early and often!
google avatar

Yelp
Our go to place for great wine selection, relaxing and fun atmosphere. Our favorite server Sarah is great at suggesting wines that will become your favorites and manager Nick is fun and full of energy. Great live music on Saturday evenings. This place is now our favorite hangout.

Yelp
We've been to Sloan and Williams Winery a handful of times and always enjoy ourselves. This time we only came for wine hut in the past, we have ordered food before and it's been good! The charcuterie board is amazing! Highly recommend getting that. They have plenty of seats and while it wasn't busy on the day that we went, we have seen it packed before. There are lots of tables that are great for large groups! There's live music and jazz on Sundays! I ordered the sweet flight and enjoyed all of my tastings! My husband ordered a bourbon Rickey. The winery doesn't have a liquor license but they do have spirits. The staff was great and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to Sloan & Williams Winery because it was the only Winery open after 5pm. It wound up being a great vibe! Host and wine tenders were very nice, and the wine was great in the "summer" and "signature" flight we got. If you're into wine-that's-not-actually-wine, I'd highly recommend the "Rita" wines. I had the peach rita and I was embarrassed how much I enjoyed the frozen drink. Only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the plates were a little lack luster. While the spinach and artichoke dip was satisfactory, the calamari felt very pre-made in a slightly unsettling way. I'd spice up the plates menu to include more fresh items.

Yelp
Great service, wines, and a very comfortable atmosphere. Great for a date night, celebration or birthday . We enjoyed the music and learning about the wines. Strong recommendation if you are in the Downtown Grapevine area. Cheers!

Yelp
My wife & I enjoyed our Friday nightcap here. Had a strawberry-basil Margarita: it was light and refreshing. The buffalo chicken dip was tasty. They have live music Friday & Saturday nights, and the last few songs we heard from the talented, female guitarist were well done. This establishment has a bar-type feel for a wine tasting room.

Yelp
If I could give two reviews, I would. Because the food, 5 stars all around. However, the service completely ruined the experience. First off, we had a reservation at 5:30, didn't get seated until 6. We sat until 6:45 and not a single soul came to talk to us. We finally stood up and asked someone who looked like they worked there if we can order food. Without even looking up at us, she said "the bar". So rude! So we stood up and ordered our food, sat down and the food SLOWLY started coming out to us. It was so slow we even stood up and grabbed it off the counter and delivered it to our table ourselves. We also had to get up and grab our own napkins and plates. There was no water in the SELF serve water stations. Like what are we tipping for??? We should be tipping ourselves. We did all the work. Absolutely terrible. The bathrooms even were dirty.
google avatar

Yelp
While the sign out front says winery, they do not actually produce any wines, and while their website indicates that they are a Texas winery, as of a visit in early May 2024, all their wines are sourced from somewhere else. It is, however, a fun and inviting venue.

Ken K.

Yelp
Y'all need to come out here. I had been here a few years ago and was not impressed. We decided to give them a try today as we were in Grapevine for the Christmas festivities. Nick the manager and his crew treated us great !! They love to discuss wine and get to know you. Very generous. Try a few noshes as well. Totally changed my opinion of this place.

Yelp
We had family in town a few weekends ago and decided to take them to Grapevine to peruse the local shops. Since I had to put up with shopping, I made sure I got a wine tasting out of the deal! There are many tasting rooms in Grapevine to choose from, but Sloan & Williams seemed to be the largest and most prominent so we decided to give them a try. Conveniently located on the main drag, you really can't go wrong. When we were seated, the server explained the various wine tasting options to us. They have a huge variety, so just about any wine drinker can find a tasting that fits their desires. I did the Signature tasting and it was excellent. The price was spot on for what you got with 5 wines to taste. We also did a charcuterie board (which they have a large variety of as well) and it was the perfect pairing. The service here was great and the atmosphere was fun and casual. We'll definitely be back in the future when we pop into Grapevine.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and felt welcomed right away! We had the European flight and the Winea rita flight! They offer cider as well and other cocktails! Also ordered the charcuterie board for two! European flight is for a red wine lovers delight and wine a Rita is for a much sweeter palate! They are short staffed so be prepared to wait, but so worth it! The charcuterie board was delicious. A must stop when visiting grapevine! There is something for everyone at this place!!!
google avatar

Daisy N.

Yelp
The food and wine were so delicious! The red sauce was super good on the meatballs. The service was ehhh, took us a long time to be acknowledged and seated, then to even order. Our food came faster than our waters and wine. No one really checked on us until the end. Hopefully it was just one of those days because the food was so good.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon in hopes of a wine tasting. We were looking for an upbeat environment with a bar, and that's exactly what we found. Got to enjoy the tail end of some live jazz (it ends at 3:30pm on Sundays) while we sampled two flights: red wine ($16) and sparkling ($20). The pours were healthy. Not going to comment on the wine... it was OK.. we really just came for the experience and got what we wanted. The bartender was friendly and helpful but fair warning: there is no discussion of the wines or winery, just a sheet with tasting notes. Didn't have any food but the menu was sizable for a tasting room. Heard there are live bands on Fridays & Saturdays. We'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The second stop on our date night was this amazing winery. This winery had a large seating area and a great bar. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our wine. We tasted 4 wines for $17. They were delicious! I tasted 2 white and 2 red and my husband did the sweet wines. we both enjoyed our tastings! Our server, DeAna, took great care of us, explaining everything about the winery. We also tried a sample of their red frozen wine drink, which there are several flavors, and it was very good. Will, the manager, came over and talked to us, and told us about a tequila infused wine, that was coming soon and they are super excited about it! We will definitely be back to check it out!!

Yelp
Wow, we went to 3 wineries this night and this one by far blew me away! The ambiance is perfect for People like me in their 20's. It's a rowdier wine bar but they have a very cute interior with country style and all types of seating. We sat at the bar of course since we were just wine tasting. I had the frozen wineritia flight. I ordered this because I've never had anything like it and the bartender sold me. Thank god I got this because all four flavors were amazing. They had pina colada, blueberry, peach, and I can't remember the other. The bartender was amazing to us, she let us sample everything we wanted!! My husband got their pineapple cider and wasn't a fan but I was so I ended up drinking it. It was delicious!!! So sweet and yummy. We had an amazing bartender and great wine tasting!!
google avatar

Meg S.

Yelp
Great wine port. Nice atmosphere on evenings with live bar and good flatbreads. Nice array of ciders too. The bathrooms are freezing all the time.

Karla S.

Yelp
Stopped in this afternoon after lunch and had a nice glass of wine and a macaron flight. Delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more items. Friendly staff. Loved the atmosphere. Definitely will be back!!
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! I loved the ambiance of the dining area and the live music was super relaxing. The staff and food was top notch in greatnesses. I'm a sucker for charcuterie boards and was so satisfied with everything on the board, this is a must try for anyone visiting grapevine!
google avatar

Allison R.

Yelp
We got the sweet flight, the red flight, the Texas flight, and a wine Rita. We all just laughed at how bad the wine was. The notes were singular and there was nothing special about the wine. Each one was the quality of a boxed Franzia wine. I actually liked the Tempranillo but that was the only one out of 12 wines that I would buy (but not for $32). The wine Rita was the best by far, but that's just a frozen wine. The hummus and the bacon and Brie naan were fine. This place isn't terrible, but the service just wasn't good, the bar food was sub par, and the wine was pretty boring.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
I love coming here for their charcuterie board and a glass (or two) of wine. The people are always kind, the place is always clean and their menu offerings are consistently delicious. They have a great selection of wine flights, and there are bites to eat for everyone's tastes. This place is perfect for a date night, or chatty get-together with friends or family.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
So.... We've been coming here for a while and the service has gone way, way down. The last time and today we had to ask the seater/greeter to get someone to come serve us. People just standing around air cleaning glasses. For what seemed like 20 minutes Apologetically, our server took our drink and food order. The food is always good, but the start and end of service is horrible now. The portion sizes have decreased tremendously with a price increase. Thank you Joe Biden! It's amazing how poor the service is since our first few visits.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
My review may just be a misunderstanding for what I think of as a winery. I came with friends to spend time in the city before our flights left later that night. We wanted to check out the Texas wine scene since we were unfamiliar with it. In my opinion, Sloan and Williams is a nice establishment, but it's more of a bar than a winery. We had a flight (not what I would consider a traditional tasting) where I tried the Texas High Plains AVA wines. They were enjoyable (especially enjoyed the Spectrum since I had never heard of it before). Unfortunately, there wasn't anyone there to talk about the wines or tell us more about the wines in the region, as it was just the server/bartender. They did have a menu with descriptions. It's worth the stop if you're in town, just make sure to have the right expectations that you're going in for a drink more so than a wine tasting. They do serve more than wine, in case anyone would prefer something else to drink.
google avatar

Rocio R.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with a couple of my friends and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Staff was super nice and helpful. Food was really good, especially the figgy piggy pizza! Will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Ricardo J.

Yelp
Every time I come here I have a great time. The service is great and the staff is super friendly. Come here for one of the best happy hours in town. The $9 wine is at $5, and believe me when I say this is quality wine. I like their whites but I LOVE their reds. Right now the best to have are their Tempranillo and Sangiovese. The food is great - you can never go wrong with one of their flatbreads or with a meat and cheese board. They also have live music for most of the year, which only make the experience here that much more memorable. You can't go wrong with coming here, especially for a well deserved break after all the walking and shopping.
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
OMG! We went in to have a glass of wine and couldn't believe the prices! $17 for an eight ounce pour?! No thank you. We left very quickly after seeing their prices.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Such an incredible winery. My boyfriend and I stopped by here on Labor Day to enjoy some wine and this spot really was amazing. This was our first time exploring Grapevine and this place definitely did not disappoint! I tried out the red wine flight, which was AMAZING! We also ordered the mini charcuterie board. highly recommend the Irish cheddar cheese, DELISH! We also tried a flight of their frozen drinks, ALL were amazing. Last but not least, we tried a flight of their ciders. While you are here, you HAVE to try the ciders!!!! We tried out a variety and all were amazing. I wish I remembered the name of our server because she was soooo incredible! She had the cutest wine mask!
google avatar

Charley B.

Yelp
Food is so much tastier than the Messina Hof a block down, but their wines pale in comparison. Their Texas Rose was not nearly as good as the white wines Messina had, but their food was much better and so was the customer service. We sat at the bar and interacted with the staff for 2 hours. Their charcuterie board was unbelievable. We couldn't finish it, but ate every crumb of leftovers the next day. The pizza even held up well the next day which was impressive. I am not the biggest fan of cured meats, but there wasn't a single item on that board that I disliked. They take a lot of care in ensuring the customers have a great time- a real pleasant experience all around. Definitely worth a visit, and they have the live bands on the weekends.
google avatar

Jared F.

Yelp
Thank you for the clean environment and the steps you are taking for keeping people safe. The wine was amazing and the staff even better. We bought a couple bottles and enjoyed one today.
google avatar

Khoury R.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite wineries in Grapevine. This time, we were helped by Lily and Ellen. Both of these ladies provided EXCELLENT customer service. I did the California and the Red flights and had a few sips of the Sweet flight. The a signature platter was larger than I expected for it to be and can easily be shared between 4 people.

Troy D.

Yelp
Stopped by for "Outlaw Cider Company". Nick was great with the two Cider flights my wife and I ordered. Service and drinks were both well above average. We will make sure to spread the word.
google avatar

Ira T.

Yelp
This place is a terrible place if you want good service. The hostess was very unprofessional and seemed to either hate her job or hate people. Either way I will never ever EVER recommend this place especially when there are 10 other wineries right down the street.
google avatar

Chandra J.

Yelp
Met a friend here last Friday night and I had an amazing time. The atmosphere was super chill and relaxed. I felt very welcomed and I was able to try several wines before deciding on a Texas rose that was super smooth and easy to sip. I love that whatever you did not drink you could cork and take with you. I definitely will be back for more wine and relaxation.

Vanessa W.

Yelp
I will give this place zero stars. We waited 20 minutes to even have someone make eye contact to get a table. 45 minutes later we got seated and ordered drinks. The cider was terrible, wine a Rita's horrible and the wine came out last as the server placed it on the table and said here you go. No idea what I was drinking because they didn't tell me. I wouldn't ever come to this place if you paid me.
google avatar

Shonnie M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and greet wine! My wife and I will return the next time we are in Grapevine.
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
Came here with two friends and we each got a flight and wanted to order a appetizer. They said the kitchen was closed for the day due to a opening of another location but they were cooking pizzas for a private event. Honestly there probably 5 groups in here they could have easily made some of the menu options. The wine flight I had was good- the pours were so uneven though some were generous and some were stingy. I don't know if I would come back overall- the prices are meh they have some cool frozen wine options but they are like $14+ a drink where you can get something similar for like $10 elsewhere in grapevine.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
OK, I have to update my review to a 5 star. Yes, the prices don't allow me to visit quite as often as I'd love to, but this is consistently a fantastic place to have a glass (or bottle!) of wine and some munchies. Wine, food, service, location, hours, live entertainment all 5 star. We've never had a visit here that wasn't great.
google avatar

Alexis M.

Yelp
So I came in with a group of twelve on a Saturday afternoon to try this place out. Upon entry the hostess was not welcoming which was odd. I told her we had 13 but she didn't tell us she had a huge table in the back. So as she stumbled over words, me being the party planner host of the group said okay fine we will sit up front and use that empty table to seat the others. She then cleans the table for us. I went to the bar to find out how tasting works and saw a huge table in the back, clean and empty. I asked the hostess if we could have it and she says sure let's her get it ready. Why didn't she tell us? No idea. Well the lackluster service continues. We are seated and wait too long for any waitstaff to say hello or welcome or take an order. I ask the bar staff if we are to order at the bar and was told that someone will come assist us at our tables. Two of my guests grew tired of waiting and ordered from the bar instead. Our waitress arrives and it is the Asst. Manager. She immediately tells us that we can't get tastings and the hostess should have told us. Um what? We can't pay and order wine tastings at a winery tasting room? She said because we have a large group. I look around and see plenty of diners enjoying tastings and ask why not. She tells us they don't have enough glasses. You don't have enough wine glasses at a winery? So I asked why can't you serve it in a cup then? Guess what...that's exactly what she does. Served two tastings to my table in plastic cups. Why they could not find eight wine glasses to provide blows my mind. My guests only got two tastings. I've been to too many wine tasting rooms to count and the service here was so bad I will not return nor will I bring any guests. There are too many amazing wine tasting rooms on this street to have to put up with horrible service. I had one glass of wine and was ready to go. I took my guests to our next wine spot which more than made up for the experience here thankfully

Kyle H.

Yelp
There is good and bad about this place. The location, facility, and occasional live music is all very good. The bad part is that the wine they serve is swill. Frankly, an $8 bottle from Costco is better than any wine I recently received as part of a flight. Given that their primary product is serving wine, this really a shame.
google avatar

Brad M.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for 20 minutes and couldn't get anyone to even acknowledge we were there. Yea, it's still Christmas here in grapevine, but we're local residents who frequent this place outside the holidays and couldn't even get a hello out of the employees. May never go back.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Generous pours and the meat/cheese board was tasty and a ton of food! Everyone was nice and helpful. Definitely recommend! Glad for autocorrect for once after having several glasses!
google avatar

Randy S.

Yelp
I think the service and feel was way off during Friday mid day Grapefest. We will need to try again. Tried red and then white flights. White flight were from Loma, CA vineyard and just meh....red flight was nothing to rave about either. Lady behind counter quipped "switch to plastic cups". Needless to say I was disappointed since everyone in tasting room had beautiful monogramed wine glasses. Didn't make me feel great. It wasn't crowded. Disappointed. Yelpers have rated them higher so we will try again. PS: update to this review- I misrepresented where the wines are from. It should say *LODI vineyards in California. See winemaker notes below. My apologies.
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
The charcuterie board is a must! Our visit was during the Covid-19 restrictions and social distancing and safety precautions were well practiced by staff. Also highly recommend the wine flight, pours are generous and the server was highly knowledgeable about the different pours. Ambiance is very classy and located in a fun downtown area. Great to stop by for a refuel from shopping!
