The 35 Best Restaurants in Barcelona

"This once under-the-radar local foodie favorite is flying well above it these days, since the people from Michelin awarded it its first well-deserved star. When booking, request one of the the six stools at the kitchen counter, which are positioned at the same height as the chefs—a metaphor, perhaps, to the restaurant's ethos: take everything you traditionally associate with tasting menus and stick a finger up at it. Head chef Francesc Beltri spent time traveling and living in Bali and Singapore, and brings those influences into the kitchen here, along with Mexican, Mediterranean, and Peruvian flavors. Dinner will be full of risks, whack-you-in-the-mouth flavors, and beautiful raw materials." - Isabelle Kliger, Gemma Askham

Slow & Low

"A restaurant with a modern ambience in which the equal measures of technical skill, creativity and delicate touches shown in its dishes will surprise and excite guests. Located closed to the Modernist-style Sant Antoni market, Slow & Low has a concept based around its open kitchen, with two counters that enable guests to experience the creative process to the full. Its internationally inspired cuisine combines ingredients from around the world on two menus (SLOW&LOW and SLOW&LONG), which show clear Mexican influence as well as a nod to Thai cooking, including well-balanced touches of acidity and spiciness and incredibly light salsas. Fish and vegetarian dishes also feature prominently. The table service is shared by the chefs and waiting staff, who explain each dish in detail." - Michelin Inspector

Few days ago I had the pleasure of dining at Slow and Low, and it was an absolutely sublime experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated. The service was impeccable, our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, which allowed us to enjoy a personalized dining experience. The food was simply divine. Each dish was a work of art, not only in presentation but also in flavor and creativity. The ingredients were fresh and of high quality, and it was clear that the chef had put a lot of care into preparing each dish. The flavor was intense and complex, with a perfect harmony of flavors and textures. Each bite was a surprise, and it left us wanting more. The chef's creativity is truly impressive, and it's clear that they've made an effort to create a unique and memorable dining experience. If you're a foodie and appreciate a great dining experience, Slow and Low is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed. Xx

Overall a great restaurant with lots of high quality presentation and creativity in the dishes. Some of the dishes are absolutely amazing, like the calamari carbonara and the shaved ice appetizer. There is true inspiration in these dishes and they have an amazing combination of flavors. Some of the other dishes are lacking in particular flavors. The tostada needed salt and acid in order for it to have a well-rounded taste. The lamb vindaloo was overwhelmed in taste by the flavor of Greek yogurt. Overall, all of the dishes were beautiful and the vast majority of them were spectacular tasting. I think that some of the bold choices missed the mark but would rate the meal an 8/10 overall. All of the desserts were very good and different flavor profiles to make the journey of the meal fantastic

Best seats are at the bar where they do the plating. Very creative Spanish cuisine, lots of raw seafood. One of the best Michelin star restaurants in Barcelona. 7 orange wines by the bottle. Some natural wine.

The food is fantastic, but I had 2 issues with service. 1st after choosing my menu I was asked if I wanted Cava or another drink so I selected cava, I assumed it was part of the menu as was a vodka martini. No one mentioned anything about an extra cost, and when I got my bill they added 14 euros. If the martini was part of the menu your staff should clearly state the additional charges for the cava. 2nd one of the male members of staff made a simple error serving me the same dish twice, one of his colleagues noticed and rectified no problem, but then for some reason this male member ignored me twice when I tried to ask him something then took my glass of wine which I hadn't finished and I still had wine in the bottle to finish. He was quite ignorant with this. I must stress the food was great and other than the two issues mentioned the service was great. When you charge 218 euros for a single dining everything should be perfect

Eh, felt like a tourist trap where they can get away with high price, max worth 70 eur per person, we've paid almost 400 eur for two person dinner and didn't even felt like we ate anything and my gf is on a petite side. But that doesn't matter since the food was too salty, too sour and lacked any flavor of a dish since you taste sauce only, not to mention any wow factor, everything was mediocre and meh at best. They also keep refilling water without asking warning you that each bottle costs extra. Save your money on better experiences be it in Barcelona, Paris or other cities. One star extra for decent oyster

It was a memorable evening. The chef had a real conversation with us which is amazing in a fine dining restaurant. There were a few of the many dishes that really stood out. The rest were good or okay. The wine pairing was okay but definitely could have been done better. I left at least half of the pour for each glass they gave us. Overall I wouldn’t recommend. The food menu is pretty reasonably priced though.

Slow&Low, a Michelin-starred restaurant, offers an extraordinary dining experience that begins with the first dish and maintains its exceptional quality until the last. Every bite was delicious, showcasing a consistency in taste that never faltered. The beauty of their dishes is remarkable, with meticulous attention to detail evident in every plate (I.e., the beautifully interlaced sauces on the anchovy dish). The wait staff at Slow&Low were incredible, providing top-notch service throughout our meal. One of our waiter (served us the drink pairs) in particular, was charismatic and witty, adding a delightful touch to our dining experience. Slow&Low excels in every aspect, from their consistently delicious food to their beautifully crafted dishes and exceptional service. It's a dining experience that truly stands out and one I highly recommend. Thank you, chefs!

Yelp
Had a phenomenal dinner here, best meal of my vacation and one of the best meals of my life. Definitely worth the hype and can see why it's Michelin-starred. Service alone is outstanding. The staff are so friendly and professional. They time out the courses and serve dishes perfectly in sync. We were seated right across from where the chefs prepared the food, which was fun to watch. Beautiful interior and ambiance. All the food was unique, beautifully presented, and most importantly, delicious. One of my favorites was the pasta. I wish we signed up for the bigger course meal, I didn't want the meal to end! Can't recommend it enough. They said they often change out their menu so I hope to come back here again :)

Yelp
Prefixed menu of "food celebrations", mostly all seafood. This was one of my favorite dinners from Barcelona. Each course had its own unique blend of flavor. I loved sitting at the kitchen /bar area because you can see the chefs in action. Also, one of the chef/owners would explain each dish, breaking down the ingredients, technique used etc. it was like I was a judge on Top Chef hearing the story behind each delish bite. I highly recommend this place. They are on the Michelin guide for a reason. And the wine menu paired so well with everything.

Yelp
Deeply disappointed. My partner and I booked this reservation months in advance. A day after we arrived in Barcelona we both tested positive for Covid. Between figuring out healthcare, the headache of insurance, the painstaking process of getting back home, I forgot about this reservation until about 20 minutes before we were set to arrive. Instead of giving us a bit of grace, we were charged $300 for a no show. Had I known the management would be so inconsiderate, I would've shown up sick and given the virus to everyone working and dining.

Yelp
We came to Barcelona to try this Michellin One Star restaurant. It did not disappoint. Welcome drink was refreshing with pineapple kick to it. The uni and its sauce was amazing. Curry was superb and I could just drink the curry..was that good. Oysters and Ramen with chicken skin on top was also fabulous. Surf and turf was good as well. Dessert was all good. Recommend going if you have a few hours to spare.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Each course was unique and exciting. I've been to several 1 and 2 Michelin starred restaurants, and Slow and Low easily ranks alongside them. The open kitchen concept is so inviting, and the service was outstanding. I am still baffled by the cheap price of only €68! I will certainly be back to try whatever new flavor concepts these amazing people come up with. If you find yourself in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and eat dinner here. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I went to Slow &low a month ago and had a really great lunch. I was really surprised with a quality of the service and food was delicious. I have returned there later to celebrate the birthday of my wife too. Great spot for foodies.

Yelp
We ate here Sep 17, 2019. Today I was cleaning out an old purse & found their business card. I remember this place being so great! I had to come back to write a them a glowing review! The food was so creative & expressive! It's still been on my top 5 places I have ever dined! We had a seat in the front & got to watch them meticulously, skillfully & carefully evacuate the plates. I would 100% recommend this place & one day when I'm back in Barcelona, I'll happily dine her again!

Yelp
My wife made a reservation for us here for my 40th birthday. They showed us to our table before telling us that we couldn't eat there tonight because our two year old might disturb the other guests (of which there were none yet) and they don't have an a la carte menu (which wasn't a problem - our little one is very adventurous). They said their no children policy was on their website but it was no place we could find. Definitely NOT good if you're traveling with kids.
