Google
loved the amount of seating in the venue! the upstairs balcony had a good amount of seating without the view being too obstructed by the people along the railing. the pit was a decent size and the bar had a good selection. of course they give wristbands for 21+ and stamps on the hands for under 21, but i liked that they both were branded with the logo not just solid bands or Xs lol

Google
Great venue! Got to see Dream Aura the #1 band in Omaha here!

Joshua Gibson

Google
First time checking them out, went for the Pet Rock concert in Omaha. Great show, with great 70's music. Even though the place was pretty busy, the staff behind the bar were rockin' it. They were fast paced and kept the lines moving quickly, so you could get your drinks and get back to the show!

Google
Great Venue. I love working here as a photographer. Its great having both the front room and the main room for different sized shows and the balcony for great angles.

Bryce Curry

Google
Great venue. Cold, FREE water. Good sound. Dope staff.

Dylan Henry

Google
Good venue to see musicians. Security is chill, the sound is good, water stations are always full. Theres a positive energy in the building everything im able to make it there.

Google
This is a great venue! Two different stages for different shows. Nicely stocked bar with reasonably priced drinks. The staff is nice and helpful. Great location too! It can be fairly difficult to find a parking spot but not awful. We saw Palaye Royale on their front, colorful, smaller stage. It was amazingly intimate.

Google
i’m sure the artists are fine here but security is a fraud and insane and took both my boyfriend and i’s real ids and we had to call the cops to get our ids verified and back and to get into the venue. wild

Yelp
The slowdown is such a great, intimate music venue in Omaha. I really love its location. It's in a safe part of the city and there a plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance for grabbing a bite or a drink before or after the show. The venue itself is a good size, with lots of tables and chairs if you want to sit and enjoy some drinks, or you can head to the pit in the middle if you want to be closer to the action. I also like that it's multi-level, with extra seating available upstairs. Every time I've been, the venue has always been super clean, the bartenders are friendly and the security does a great job of keeping things safe without being overbearing. They seem to handle any issues quickly, often before they even really start. I just love the intimate vibe of this place, it's easily one of my favorite music venues in Omaha.

Yelp
I went to this venue a couple weeks ago for a Doors Tribute concert and it was amazing. The doors opened at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm so I naturally show up at like 7:45pm to avoid the crowd and there was still a HUGE line of people waiting to get in; and it moved so slow! I don't know why they don't have more than one person scanning tickets, (maybe because of space?) I expect a line when the doors open but not with 15 minutes before the show starting. The venue is awesome. Smaller and intimate with plenty of places to stand to see the whole stage. The band was absolutely amazing. The lead singer sounded like Jim Morrison incarnate. Grade A show! I am stoked to go to this venue again in the near future!

Yelp
We came to Omaha to catch a band we follow but had never been to this venue before. We were so excited that it wasn't huge so we had a great view of the stage without having to line up before doors open. We showed up about 20 minutes before the opening band started. Looks like they had balcony and other reserved seating available for folks who want to make sure they can sit, but I don't think the view was any better from those spots. Sound was good, although there were some instances of feedback throughout the show. We also liked the location because we were able to find beer and food right around this area and were walking distance from our hotel.

Yelp
Super neat venue downtown. I've been for concerts, events, and new years eve. I love this multi level venue. There is ample space for viewing or enjoying the night. The bar is huge and service has been consistently fast. Love the parking situation, with a small lot in the back and lots of street parking in front. They bring in great acts and it's a great place for community building.

Yelp
A great music venue to enjoy with friends. Attentive bar service and plenty of space to dance, enjoy drinks or sit back and enjoy the show! "Yesterday and Today" is a must see in Dec each year.

Yelp
We were downtown having dinner and heard the loud and funky baselines penetrating throughout downtown Omaha. We HAD to go in and see what was going on in there. We literally walked into a party! Great band, great sound, good drinks and atmosphere!

Yelp
The Slowdown is easily one of my favorite venues in Omaha and venues I have ever been to. I love how they bring in lots of alternative indie artists/bands that I love who are more underground and that this venue is more intimate. I find that smaller venues are my favorite because of the amazing experiences I've had. For example, I got to be front and center to see James Bay perform "Hold Back the River". I even got one of his guitar picks at the very end of the show! There is also very fast service at the bar. Lots of times, the artists that I see will hangout here after the show so you can actually hangout with them. This venue also has Science Café events which allows the public to learn more about various topics of science! I love that this place brings together the community and brings in artists from around the world! One of my favorite artists Julia Jacklin came to Nebraska for the first time to play here when she is from Australia. I love how this place brings people together to enjoy music, science, and many other things to help connect people! Also, tickets are much more affordable here than at other bigger concert venues which I really appreciate.

Kam Z.

Yelp
An absolute sh*tshow of a venue. i bought tickets for an all ages concert and on their website they state no information about the need of an ID at the venue is required to enter. the moment we enter for a concert, they require an id which my group dosent have and didn't bring. absolute horrible place with zero tolerance or care about their customers and hosts.

Joan B.

Yelp
Great venue to hear local and traveling bands. The sound equipment and sound technicians really are amazing and showcase the bands wonderfully.

Yelp
This is for the amazing, socially distanced concert series that Slowdown hosted this past summer. There were pods you could sit in with your friends and family that were well thought out. An outside beverage stand offered local beers that were ice cold and efficient. There was also a stand to purchase some quality Slowdown tees and sweatshirts. Each pod was individually numbered. Why you ask? Well, you could place an order online for some wonderful food from Hook and Lime or a quality libation from the Trap Room. A friendly server would then locate your pod for quick delivery. This goes to show that Slowdown ROCKS in more ways than one!!

Yelp
One of the best venues in Omaha! They get very popular touring artists, big and small. The building is very modern and has a great atmosphere for a great concert! Staff is always nice and accommodating for concert goers, I like how they have special water dispensers for concert goers to keep hydrated. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you're a late arriver! Plenty of parking in the back and in the front street but if the show is big and sold out, good luck!

Yelp
This has rapidly become one of my fave places to see a show in Omaha. It's a good small club with all the right features. Good stage, spacious sunken floor in front of it, good volume of rail, space for us older folk, lots of tables, and a back section for those wanting to converse at a show. What? It happens. Seen it. The bar's huge. Service is great, and friendly if ya interact. Wife liked her drink. I liked mine. Winning. Doesn't hurt that they've had acts I really enjoyed. I'd see any bank I ever liked in that space. Heck, I'd go back to performing if I could play such spaces!

Yelp
We came here for a concert this weekend and we really enjoyed this venue. Firstly the show was very reasonably priced and the two local openers they had were actually really good. The venue is really large with seating in the back of the venue with a patio, lots of high top tables and chairs in front of the bar, seating flanking the left and right sides of the stage in a fan, and then upstairs seating overlooking the stage. The stage and dance floor are sunken down allowing for great visibility for all the side seating. The acoustics were great and the bands sounded awesome. The bartenders were all really nice and even after they got busy they were still super attentive. The drinks we had were all mixed well and fairly priced. I definitely recommend this venue if you're coming for a show, but even as just a hangout place it seems legit.

Yelp
Slowdown front room And main room are both great spots to catch a show. I like that there's a decent amount of meter parking nearby as well as other bars & food places. I'm not from Omaha but try to catch a show every few months. Slowdown has really great sound too on stage and I have appreciated their interesting music choices for booking too. Have caught some great shows here over the years. Recently noticed their bar staff was very polite and helpful . Selection of craft beers and wine too, and they also sell chips and salsa apparently- but that's cool! I liked that they had a decent selection of sour beers too.

Yelp
My favorite place in town to see a concert. They also have great drink specials for happy hour, Pub Quiz on Tuesdays and free juke box and loaner board games. I especially like when the garage doors are open in the summer, but the main reason I go to Slowdown is for the concerts. There isn't a better venue for shows in Omaha right now. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, but of course I have my preferences. I won't give away all my secrets because I don't really have that many, okay I don't have any, besides to get there early and then get in the front of the line. That's all I'll say about that. Parking is give and take, I can imagine it would be a pain if you arrived late to a show. But like I said, I get there early-ish. Bartenders are attentive and friendly, even when they're swamped. Drink prices are more than fair. Soundsystem, lighting and HVAC are excellent. Okay so the HVAC is something people might not notice, but trust me it's great. :)

Yelp
Fast bartenders, great venue, fantastic acoustics, just-right size. This is my favorite local venue. I've seen several bands here... local ones to internationally known ones. I've never had a bad experience. Some of the bands and artists I've seen here include Ani DiFranco, Tricky, Seawolf, Silversun Pickups, and a Led Zeppelin cover band. Slowdown has great drink specials (PBR is way cheap here), and you can even buy six packs of plain jain or micro-brewed beers. I absolutely adore the Slowdown.
google avatar

Tracey K.

Yelp
I love live music and this venue is in my top places to go in Omaha. They have two stages depending on concert size and both are excellent. I also like that I can feel safe sending my teenagers here for shows they want to see.

Kaitlyn K.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The workers are rude and wouldn't let the rest of my party into the event I paid for. When I tried to sell my ticket that I COULDNT USE they told me it was already scanned so I can not sell it. Rude staff I will not be coming back here.
google avatar

Tyler B.

Yelp
This slowdown had a great set up for live music. This was the first time I was there and was very impressed on the setup. Tickets for this band was $8 but they played for over 2 hours and it was great, clean music. They also had a more of a sit down area incase you wanted to have a drink and chat with friends. This is defiantly a play to go on a date or hang out with friends.

Jordan S.

Yelp
Went to a concert here and would highly recommend! Staff was very friendly and nice! Very nice venue for a concert and parking in the back was very convenient. Will for sure be coming come back to this concert venue!

Yelp
The Slowdown is a great place in north downtown for concerts and events alike. I've been here many times over the last 8 years and it's one of my favorite venues in Omaha to catch unique musical guests in an intimate setting where there's not a security guard blocking you from the stage edge. Back when it was first build (in 2008-ish?) I remember Conor Oberst of Brighteyes having a hand in the planning and execution- totally love that band. And the care in sound design and ambience shows when I attend concerts. Overall a great place for you to relax with drink in hand and enjoy some awesome musics and events. They have a fun quiz happy hour and great beers and drinks on tap for during the week. Parking is always easy and accessible, and no matter what RAGER occurred the day before it's always fresh smelling and the bathrooms are clean. Remember to bring your ID even for all age events!
google avatar

Yelp
Great concert venue! The bartenders are always great. The sound is amazing and they do a lot with the space. They have a great mix of music and other performers come. Lots of stuff to enjoy!

Yelp
all ages show, so happy for our daughter to see show. we bought tickets to get them settled. I mean it's a group of 14girls in the crowd. told we couldn't leave to eat at the restaurant 30 feet away and if we left our kids had to go, but yet when people get shot up hear in wrap shows up they don't do checks.... horrible customer service. ve y disappointed but at least we have the waiting room in benson

Yelp
Slowdown is my favorite venue in Omaha to watch live music. Luckily, they get a pretty good stream of bands... well known, up and coming, local... you name it. I've seen a handful of shows over the past year here and all of them have been awesome. The stage is away from the bar, down several steps. They also have a small second floor, which circles the main stage-area floor. Seats are pretty impossible to grab here, unless you show up super early. I believe there are tables up there as well. When there's not a show going on, Slowdown usually closes up the stage area. However, even when they do that, the bar space is still so much larger than a lot of bars in Omaha. Darkly lit, there's tables strewn across the area, and a long bar that runs across one side of the room. There's a large selection of beers, as well as your standard cocktails. Tuesday nights are Pub Quiz nights. Free to play, grab some friends and entertain yourself playing Trivia! The questions are fun and tricky, and it's always a great time. There's always at least 5-6 other teams there, and things can get friendly-competitive quickly. And if you need more reasons to check out Slowdown... * They have a photobooth, which is definitely worth mentioning because who DOESN'T love an old fashioned photo strip?! * A stack of board games lines a part of the wall near the entrance. They have everything from Connect Four to Categories to Battleship. * There's an outside patio perfect in the summertime. * They host large parties, including wedding receptions... how awesome would that be!?

Yelp
The Slowdown is one of my favorite music venues in the entire country! I have been lucky enough to play a handful of shows in the small room, and got to see Yo La Tengo in the big room a few years back as well! I love that they have movable wall, and 2 stages to make this place huge for bigger shows with balcony and smaller for more intimate ones. The sound on both stages is killer, Dan who has been doing sound there for years is a total pro and he even had wireless mics for us to use! Which totally rules! The bar rules as well and they sell everything from brews, to mix drinks, to wine, to Kombucha! They also have tons of snacks like chips, bars, and other delights! The bartenders rule, Missy who has been there for years is up for making you crazy shots! First place I have ever had or heard of the shot a Brooklyn Hooker, which was crazy. The bathrooms are some of the nicest you will ever find in a rock club, and there are tons of tables to sit if you want! They do game nights, trivia nights, and heck they have a photo booth! I love this place and if you are in Omaha, SLOWDOWN pull over and stop here for a drink and a show!
google avatar

Yon C.

Yelp
This place rocks! I have seen a bunch of shows here and it has always been good. It is fairly small but the crowd never seems to fill it up, even for big shows. The prices are good, the bartenders are nice and they have a stash of boardgames!
google avatar

Yelp
It's always a pleasure attending concerts and events here. Slowdown is clean, spacious an apt at accommodating shows of all sizes, from small and intimate singer-songwriters to giant, crazy DJ-fueled dance parties. Really, it's one of the nicest venues I've been to in the country. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into to it -- there's even laundry facilities and a shower for touring bands in the green room. Slowdown is also a great place to grab a drink after work, as their happy hour specials are great: 1/2 price taps and $1 off everything else. Can't beat that.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
When the slowdown first opened I thought it was one of the most beautiful venues in Omaha. For the most part the sound is good. Except for that secret Smashing Pumpkins concert. Whoever was on the board that night should of been fired bc no one could hear Billy Corgans vocals. I have seen a lot of great shows through here but I can't help to notice the music scene has gone down hill and we can't get bands like we used to through Omaha at local venues. If you get Angus and Julia Stone here or bring Broken Social Scene back with Land of Talk, I will give you 5 stars. If you can get Zero 7 back together as a band and play here, I will get a Slowdown tattoo.

Yelp
I purchased a ticket and attended the Prince Experience at the Slowdown. The show was an hour late. We were told this was planned a head of time. The show was terrible. This was not a tribute to Prince. It was a joke. I stayed for 30 minutes and finally left. Worst 25$ ever spent.

Susan V.

Yelp
Horrible place!! Tried to charge my friend for 21 drinks when she had maybe 7 if that. Then threatened to call the police on us because wouldn't step outside. Don't go here, they haven't gotten past days of COVID!! they believe you must wear a mask indoors even if you've been inoculated and had COVID!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT
google avatar

Michaela P.

Yelp
The Slowdown is a great venue. The floor plan has two stages, a smaller one on the North side of the main room for more intimate shows and a larger one on the South side with way more space for bodies. The larger stage has a pit in front of it and elevated walkways on the sides as well as a second floor with a great view. There is also quite a bit of seating (not enough for everyone's party to grab a table, but there's 12-15 tables up for grabs). The bar service is friendly but not the fastest in town. The bar is large and well-staffed, but when a show has a large crowd it can take a hot minute to get a drink when you need one. That being said, they have coolers off to one side with complimentary water which is much appreciated after a couple hours of drinking and dancing. There's a spacious smoker's area that is enclosed so you can bring your drinks out with you which is kept just as clean as the rest of the venue.

Yelp
Fun events always going on. Some of them are free! Fun place to hang out at during College World Series
google avatar

Kaite S.

Yelp
The Slowdown is a decent music venue, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get a drink here. Parking is fine, unless there's a concert/event. Then, it's terrible. But what can you expect with a small lot shared between numerous stores, bars and restaurants? I'd give them a higher rating, but bartenders have been outright rude on more than one occasion. The most recent time I was there for a show, a bartender told me they don't carry a type of liquor I was asking for... while I was staring at it. She didn't even apologize for yelling at me when I pointed at it behind her.

Yelp
The good folks at Saddle Creek have successfully put Omaha on the map. One result of their efforts is this music venue/bar very close to downtown Omaha. I found the bar staff to be neither slow nor down on their jobs. They were very friendly and knowledgeable, and seemed to compliment this joint with their wit and attentiveness. The free jukebox and cheap drink specials make this a must visit for those with lite billfolds. I found the decor sensibly appealing to those who like dim lighting and a mellow atmosphere. During warmer months, there is a garage style retracting-wall which opens up to compliment the beer garden on the north side. Try out this place if you haven't already. Hot tip: take a look at the pictures on the photo booth...you'll see that a national political figure was one of the few early adopters to patronized the Slowdown.
google avatar

Megan P.

Yelp
The Slowdown has everything: arts/culture and sports events, a great selection of beer and booze, board games and snacks. Oh, and it's a concert venue. Leave it to a record company to put together an amazing set-up: Saddle Creek runs a smooth operation with a great variety of bookings and other events to fill up the calendar. I've gone to countless Science Cafes and Pub Quizzes at Slowdown, but it's a great bar to chill and play board games, too. Scrabble or Guess Who, anyone? Definitely check out Happy Hour: Taps are half-price (awesome deal for craft and local beer fans), plus all other drinks are $1 off. For concerts, I love sitting in the upper deck. Killer view of the band and crowd, but there really isn't a bad (seat) in the place. During the College World Series, Slowdown transforms part of the back parking lot into a beer garden/outdoor dance clubs. They bring in a DJ and play all of the CWS games on their projection screen inside and a number of TVs outdoors. Totally different vibe but it works for the CWS.

Yelp
A music, film, coffee venue in the middle of a derilict warehouse district, apparently owned by the Faint. Most of it was closed when we went, there's also an American Apparel, thats all. It was nothing impressive truth be told. The slowdown may be a club, but my impression was that the whole little area was called the slow down, which may be some ignorance on my part.

Yelp
Pretty much everything I require in a venue. I mean, to be perfect for someone like ME a place would have a full late night menu of gluten free food, and massage chairs. But let's not be ridiculous. The Slowdown is one of those places that when I see a band on my radar is playing there, I have no hesitation about simply buying a ticket, and making the drive to Omaha. Because thus far in my experiences at this venue, I have never been disappointed. Here are some of my observations: * Staff: NICE and EFFICIENT, and seemingly happy to be there. I love that. * The Sound: Perfect. I will go to great lengths to catch a fave band in a location where I can feel confident that the sound will not suck. So far, this has been the case at the Slowdown. Stellar sound quality. I can actually HEAR the vocals, and enjoy every single word of each song. * Food/Snacks: they do exist here, and I LOVE that. * Seating options: these also exist for those who either reuquire seating, desire a rest mid-show, or simply feel like being leisurely on a lazy night. * An organized promotional calendar and web presence. They DO all of the things I personally feel are necessary to gain & retain patrons. And they manage to do this in conjunction with a dual promotion of the musical acts as well. * A music lover's venue FOR musicians & fans alike. Everything functions in such a way (from my perspective) that allows for the musicians performing to be as happy and comfortable as they can be, which in turn means that the fans most likely will be rewarded with an extra special, one of a kind experience. * So far, the shows seem to START ON TIME (which is one of my biggest pet peeves about venues) * The vibe: I can't really explain it. I just know that I like it there, & I feel comfortable. * Plenty of parking around the area (which I know could vary depending on what else is going on. But at this point, it does not seem to be an issue. I also never fault a place for parking. But I do always like to point it out, as it can factor into the whole of the experience.

Excited about tonight!!!! Can't wait to see what they bring tonight! It's always a fun and live night at slowdowns!

Yelp
I went to the Slowdown bar on a recent trip to Omaha, earlier this month. My girlfriend had a couple of friends who had been their previously on a Tuesday night for trivia and were going back while we were in town and invited us to come along, so we decided to. When we first got there, the parking lot in the back was pretty full, but we thankfully were able to grab the last spot. We went inside and met up with the girl's friends. They had already grabbed a table and were playing one of the many old boardgames that were available. What a cool idea for a bar to have I thought. Then came trivia which was pretty crazy the night we were there. The first grouping was TV show dogs, which was we found very difficult. They also did a grouping of Brothers Grimm trivia. Both of those sections were pretty killer, but still a lot of fun to try and figure out. If I am ever back in the Omaha area I definitely would go back for Trivia again, and hopefully some of the categories will be more up my speed.

Yelp
Another great live music venue. This place was built with music in mind. Service is good and the bands are better. Since this place is owned by the Saddle Creek Records people, they get bands that should be playing much larger venues. Great place to see a great band in intimate location. Only negative... bathroom doors are located by steps coming up from stage area. Gets a little crowded. Nit picky but heck... gotta say something. lol

Yelp
First of all, I thoroughly enjoy the Musicians the Slowdown has attracted to the Omaha area. It is a clean establishment with great seating and plenty of room for a full house. In that regard I would place it in the top ten for venues in Omaha. Now, every Tuesday they have a pub quiz. I believe that Steven Hawking would be more charismatic than the MC's at The Slowdown. This may be the most boring pub quiz on the planet earth. Their drink selection is excellent, unfortunately if you do not go during their happy hour expect to take a mortgage out of your home in order to run a tab. Very over priced.
google avatar

Yelp
I have only had one experience at Slowdown, but it may go down as one of the better nights I have had in my life. Last November, I saw Jon Bellion perform here, and I could not think of a better venue to have a concert at. In a relatively small space (for a name like Jon Bellion, at least) I spent the night with a room full of strangers who I could have called family. The event staff were super awesome, and they were there to make sure everyone had a great time. The location is great, as it is right next to TD Ameritrade park, and a short walk from the Old Market. The bar was extremely well kept and everyone who worked there was pleasant. I have heard from other people that this bar is an excellent establishment as well, and I look forward to going there more in the future.

Yelp
I have only been for pub quiz. I like it although it is a bit overly tame. I like the hecklers when they have them, it adds an element of shall we say....fun. The sarcasm and banter of the MC'ing is great. My only suggestion, let the people make asses of themselves...it's their god given right. Wait staff was less than stellar.
google avatar

Zachary M.

Yelp
Slowdown is great. I'm especially fond of Pub Quiz night. Bring your friends, start a team, answer the [not always easy] trivia questions and if you win: Free bar tab! They also have great shows and events listed on their website.

Yelp
This place is an AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME place to see a show. The drinks didn't seem overpriced and HOLY HELL they have Boulevard Wheat on tap there!!! The crowd was pretty dull, no one really seemed like they were having much fun that night but it didn't stop me from dancing and running back and forth to the fenced in patio (which has a great view of American apparel) for cigarette breaks. The door guy and bartenders were friendly and attentive. They poured me a few pints of their local brew and told my companion and I about other bars that we could visit. Omaha stops serving alcohol early so the shows are early. If you're underage you have to have your parents sign some sort of permission slip which i think is ADORABLE. I LOVE the slowdown and will definitely revisit this venue!
google avatar

Kuang J.

Yelp
The sound system here is excellent, and the layout is great. The show I went to was close to sold out, but it was still pretty easy to get a good viewing position. This is pretty much the best music venue I have been in. Plus, they sell PBR tall boys, so it is basically a hipster paradise.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Pub quiz! I went here with some friends as part of a pub quiz team - every Tuesday at 9 is competition time (21+, though I believe for concerts and such, it's 18+). The bartenders and staff are always friendly and usually hilarious. Even when it's super packed, I never feel like I have to wait forever to get a drink. They have tasty local beers on tap, too, so take advantage of that. (Mmm, Zipline.) Bonus: they keep the venue clean, and I have never experienced the sticky floor phenomenon that seems to be a bar-feature. Pro tip: the sound system can be overwhelmingly loud, so be careful where you sit if you intend to have a conversation with your group.

Yelp
I went to a show here Tuesday night to see HDBEENDOPE and Portugal. The Man. I started at the balcony and eventually moved to the lower floor. There is not a place with bad sound in this venue. The staff were nice and there were minimal lines at the bar and the bathroom. Drink prices are typical event prices. The admission process was smooth. There are many seating options here as well. If you get there when the doors open, there are great short tables and chairs in the balcony that are great options for seating. There are many tables and chairs on the primary floor, and for you parents attending with your children, there are comfortable seating options in the back and it's not as loud there either. I will never hesitate young to a show here, what a fun great night

Yelp
I've gone to so many shows here, the sound is always good and it's such a clean and cool aesthetic. But I just got married here on Sunday and it was INCREDIBLE. Music has been a big part of mine and my husband's relationship. All the staff was so friendly and helpful. They changed the marquee for us and it was just really nice. Everything we could have wanted!
