The Best Sports Bars in Seattle

"Fans have been piling into this cheerfully cramped, memorabilia-filled bar on their way to Mariners games for 25 years, and it’s a destination for anyone who wants to experience a bit of old Seattle. Post-pandemic lockdown era, however, Sluggers is open only on days when games or other events are happening in the area." - Eater Staff, Harry Cheadle

Seattle’s 17 Essential Bars

"The thing about Sluggers isn’t that it’s a great sports bar, per se (although it subjectively is). It’s that everyone in Seattle eventually goes to it. Due to its prime location right next to Lumen Field, it’s where you go before or after sports happen, or it’s where you go to wait for your boyfriend (of any gender) to get out of sports. See also: concerts at the stadia, New Year’s Eve festivities in Pioneer Square, killing time before a train. If you’re a Seattleite, you’re just gonna end up here sometime. Formerly Sneakers in the 1980s, this long, skinny train car of a building was built in 1910 as a warehouse, and it retains that, ahem, unfussy charm. (It owes its svelte 17-and-a-half–foot width to the fact that it replaced a railroad pathway.) Plus they have these weirdly tall booths that are like eyeball height with the TV behind the bar, so you’re looking over the bartender to intimately lock eyes with J. P. Crawford instead. A required, inevitable Seattle Place. (Note that on days when there’s nothing going on at the stadiums, Sluggers is typically closed.)" - Meg van Huygen, Mark DeJoy, Eater Staff

Not only is the staff AMAZING the owners are JUST AS AMAZING. Great environment great food from taco Tuesday to there wings and burgers

Google
I’m giving 4 stars because our server was wonderful, but I couldn’t get past the strong smell of urine on the second floor. The first time I visited, we sat on the first floor, which also had a noticeable urine odor. I decided to give it another chance, but unfortunately, the issue persisted. Sorry, but I'll be going elsewhere to get a drink or two before the events I attend. It's unfortunate since it's super convenient to the stadiums.

Rachael Ferguson

Google
Tried to go to the bar next door, it wasn’t busy, multiple bartenders (clearly the only female bartender was running circles while the other 1 or 2 dudes ignored us) After 10 minutes we decided to walk 10 steps to this spot and were greeted by the dopest door guy and also acknowledged by 3 people behind the bar and helped immediately with a smile. Y’all are the best and made our preshow experience excellent!! Much love

Google
Stopped by for a quick drink at the bar before the game and got some stellar service from the two gentleman behind the bar. Ordered two double vodka redbulls which came to around $46. They have plenty of tvs that no matter where you sit you got something to look at. Will have to come back to try the food.

Google
So I’m leaving a three star reason being is a charge of the drinks. I ordered a well and then ordered a shelf drink and another shelf drink and a a sandwich at the end they charged me for three shelf drinks when I said I only had one well and two shelves. But on another note, their sandwich petty melt is a pressed burger, which is not very well. You cannot get it to your liking you basically it’s well and dry. I asked another bartender if this is how their burgers are and they said yes so I probably would not go back here for burgers or anything that has to do with meat. On another note, their drinks are good. Just make sure whether you ask for well or apparently top shelf. And make sure you are charged correctly.

We went to get a grandchild a fishing license and some fishing supplies. A man named Chris was such a great help with everything!!!! He is absolutely amazing and wonderful with the kids. He should be added to.my Christmas card list for sure.

Google
If this place didn’t smell like actual urine everywhere I would give it a better rating. Unbearable and disgusting. Staff is very sweet but I have no idea how they can stand it.

Mike Buss

Google
Made a reservation for 30 for a softball team in from Vanvouver, BC. We were all very happy with the service, food and drinks. Thank you for being so accommodating! Fully recommend Sluggers and will definitely use them again in the future!

Yelp
This place is exceptional! The service is quick, attentive, friendly, and engaging. The numerous TVs mean you can watch about any game at any time. The extended hours mean you can watch international games that are in the morning. The food is good, bar is well-stocked, and the vibe is great for the sports crowd. Extra special goes out to Shelley and Sal, who went out of her way to make me feel like I've been a regular for years. Kudos!

Yelp
Best buffalo wings in the city HANDS DOWN honestly im not from the PNW but so far it's been hard to come by some really good wings. I love them so much I order them every time w a cold beer. The wings are so juicy & crispy and I actually like that they put the buffalo sauce served on the side. GO HERE....GET THEM LOL this place is a hidden gem forsure & a great place to watch a game!

Yelp
THE traditional stop before, during, and after any and all Seattle games! Two levels of seating and family friendly. All things Seattle sports team memorabilia cover the walls of this historic and longstanding bar. TVs galore, so there's no way you're going to miss any televised sports event even if you tried. Bar food is as expected, drinks are the perfect solution to any hangover or one in the making, and staff is amazing - especially bartender Matt S., tell him I sent ya! Mushroom Swiss burger with tots = YES. Chicken tenders are thin, so don't expect juicy cutlets. However, they have KRINKLE FRIES!!!! Krinkle fries are a dying delicacy in my opinion and I LOVE that they serve them here. Sluggers will always be THE game prefunk spot, after game hotspot, and during game alternative. They are the only spot in the area with NFL Ticket games airing during football season. LONG LIVE SLUGGERS!

Yelp
Tried to take down my review multiple times OUR WAITRESS WAS DRUNK and accused us of not paying for drinks we didn't order. Hopefully this one won't get taken down will never return to this bar. Much better bars in the area

Diego C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Perfect sport to enjoy the game and drink some beers. Food was really good and they were very attentive with service.

Yelp
So I see so many negative reviews here about certain wait staff and the owner. Service my group received during our visit was excellent. So I would say the type of service you may get could vary! Our waiter was amazing. Just the right amount of interactions with us and was very friendly and cool. We were here for lunch and this venue is surprisingly huge once you get inside. I always passed by this place and thought it was some sort of a to-go pick up place (or a hot dog place) but I was very wrong. It's a full bar/restaurant with lots of items on the menu. If you order one of their sandwiches or burgers, it comes with a choice of side salad, tots, or fries. Prices were very good for how much food you get. I ordered the Western Burger and chose tots as my side and it was stupid huge lol. The issue was... I thought the food was very mediocre. I think the food lacked seasoning. Fries and Onion rings were good but the tots and the burger were just....okay. Also the burger had too much BBQ sauce. 5 for service. 2 for food. This place is on par with Elysian (right next door) in terms of food. Burb's Burgers around the corner is much much better.

Yelp
Old school cool bar in a easy location around the stadiums. Servers handle the crowd as well as one can. When it's packed it's a bit tough to walk through but you find your spaces.

Venado C.

Yelp
Look, this is a great spot BUT they serve Guinness in a plastic cup on game days I asked for a glass and was told no...not cool.

Matt C.

Yelp
I went there shortly after an M's game started, 12 April '25, so the crowd had thinned. The service is great, but simple pints of a lighter beer in a plastic cup for $10 isn't a place I'm going to make my watering hole or even come back to any time soon. It's got Seattle grunge going still for sure. The layout is a long bar and tables opposite, all in a long hallway or alley, if you will, type of setting, and it works. I didn't check out the bathrooms so no report there.
google avatar

Steven K.

Yelp
Terrific place! Great food. Kid friendly. Atmosphere prior to Sounders game was packed! Food was excellent. Many choices. Great tasting and excellent spices. Clean and friendly people working. Large portions of food and plenty to eat!

Christopher L.

Yelp
Popped in here for a beer before the concert and was impressed. The space was lively with lots of people hanging out. The bartenders were spot on with prompt service and happy to help with any questions. Though I was in a time limit this time, I can't wait to come back and hang out more before soon.

Gary B.

Yelp
Exceptional sports bar. The location other than being inside of the stadiums, is as close as you can be. Great burgers, draft beers and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Bouncer here threatened to beat me up when I asked jokingly him where the stairs was. He did not beat me up when I confronted him later, but did throw a fit when he realized he was caught. Overall super uncomfortable experience. No jokes here. Edit: Adding more context since I have received two notices that they have tried to remove my review. I attempted to resolve the matter at time of the incident but they were unwilling. Came here after a Mariners game. As I was getting my ID checked a group of women were leaving and were asked why by the bouncer. They said it was too crowded and he asked if they checked upstairs. They didn't know about the upstairs and went up. This somehow upset the bouncer who muttered to my group about how stupid they were. I didn't realize how upset at the time and made a joke about the obvious stairs. This also somehow really upset him and he said when he gets off his stool he was going to beat me up, but more explicitly. My group left after going inside and feeling uncomfortable. We left out the back. I came back later to confront the bouncer and ask to speak with someone. Bouncer refused to grab anyone, claiming he let me in so I shouldnt be upset. I called their number to speak someone, a manager said they would be right out. Never came. Assistant manager came out to smoke and de-escalated, said the manager was never actually going to come out. I'm never expecting a doorman/bouncer to be in a great mood. Their job is hard and they have to deal with a lot. However, I think it crosses a line when you start making violent threats at people. This is my actual experience when I came. When speaking to the assistant manager he told me the doorman had been here ten years and theyve been around for 26 so weren't too worried about the reputation. Now, I keep getting requests for my review to get removed.

Yelp
They were really busy before the baseball game, but managed pretty well. The bartender came out to our table a few times to get our food and drink order, which was nice. He did a great job keeping up with everyone! Solid bar food and cocktails. Will definitely go back
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in before Billy Joel concert. Got a seat at the rail. BLT and Philly were delicious.. drinks were as expected.. will be back for our next concert!

Beth L.

Yelp
Recently attended a Mariners game and my friend were in search of a place for an pre-game adult beverage. We stumbled upon this on our walk to the stadium. The bouncer outside checked our ID and welcomed us in. From the outside I would have never have know what a cool spot this was. We ordered double bloody Mary's, perfection! What a totally cool sports bar! Wall to wall TV's with sports on. Walls are decorated with some unique sports memorabilia. A very cool 2 story venue that I would definitely go back to!

Ellen D.

Yelp
Stopped before a game at Lumen Field. Great service and loved my grilled cheese and those 'tots'. Will be back.

Wendy V.

Yelp
We LOVE Sluggers! Great place, great service! So much fun!!! Best place to go to on game day!!!
google avatar

Lauris Byrd B.

Yelp
Stopped in as we waited for family prior to a kids event. Food arrived "pipping hot" (fries too). Gotta tell you not only was the food hot but it was excellent. Had the French dip with grilled onions. So good. Team members were friendly and on point taking care of patrons. My hat is off to your employees. Would definitely recommend

Jayne B.

Yelp
Busy game day, but service was amazing. Being 4 people ordering drinks and wanting to split entrées. I cannot be more happy with how they handled the bill!! Also the bartender realized that we didn't seem to be happy with our bloody Mary's, very mild. He offered to replace them. You don't often see that in the sports bar where they want turnover. This has been our place for years and will continue to be our go to many more years.

Yelp
First things first I want to say that I love Sluggers. I've never seen them overserve a single person in my patronage of the bar. It gets busy like every other popular bar, to be sure, but I think it generally does a really good job of catering to its customer base. I found this originally on Yelp forever ago & was surprised I hadn't made this review earlier. Do yourself a favor and order the Bacon Jalapeño Guacamole Burger w a side of tots, extra guac, if that's you're thing! Now, to my gripe. For context read the latest 1-star for this establishment. I wish you could comment on other reviews otherwise I would be making this a separate post. So I too happen to be a Sounders fan and went to Sluggers this last Saturday night May 27 to grab a bite n watch the Sounders Red Bulls game. I was in line to close my tab behind some guy w a friend next to him. I noticed he was trying to pay for his ~$30 something meal w a $100 bill. The brunette bartender noticed she was out of $20s & said she'd have to be gone for a few mins to snag some bills from the back that she didn't have in her till. She literally asked him if it would be easier for him to use a card or if he minded waiting a few minutes. He got offended at the inconvenience of either & started arguing w the bartender bc he didn't like that she gave him a choice of what would be more helpful to him? It made no sense to me. The customer was not a people person and the bartender was trying her best. So I come on this site to review Sluggers well & I see a review from the guy who I'm like 99% sure I was standing behind based on the wild review he left. Chuck, I have to say you can't read the room at all to save your life & it sounds like you enjoy making up stories about customer service staff to make you feel better about yourself online which is sad. I guess you couldn't put together that Bartender 1 was having a rough time during a busy evening night because green crop top Bartender 2 was s***faced and useless. I saw you tip one whole dollar in cash to the bartender that was keeping the place running that night and I think you're an a*hole. That is all. Sluggers is awesome. Chuck is not. Lol

Yelp
A classic, dive-y sports bar which has the optimal setup for watching a game -- it's essentially a long tunnel with seats on one side and TVs on the other. The staff was attentive and checked in on us often. The tater tots were great and easy to share and snack on. They were also kind enough to leave the bar open for a bit longer so that we could finish watching the games, which was much appreciated.

Robert G.

Yelp
Great spot to enjoy the game solo or with friends. Big screen TVs over the bar and great food and drinks to go with it.
google avatar

Jen D.

Yelp
We came here to watch baseball and the ambiance was great! Bar tenders and servers were friendly and drinks were good. We had the mini corn dogs and patty melt and they were really good. Definitely recommend if you're in Seattle!
google avatar

Mz H.

Yelp
Great service for only 2 people working with a full place. Lory is so amazing with a scale the entire time. The Philly cheese steak bomb.

Noah B.

Yelp
Why does a specific bouncer have to check IDs when you have a 2000 birthday or later? It is 2024, and is a stupid policy that definitely turned me off from it. Hey Sluggers, want to know how to never get my business again? It is a slap in the face when every other bar in the area will let me in without question.
google avatar

Squid1986 ..

Yelp
Best, friendliest customer service in Seattle, as far as I can tell. I have been to a lot of cities, and Seattle overcharges for everything and under-delivers at every turn. This is really the only place that felt like they appreciated my business and made me and my wife feel like we were not bothering them by coming in for a drink and a bite to eat. If you are going to be close to the ballpark/arena area, please spend some money at Sluggers. I was a server for 10 years of my life, and my expectations are pretty reasonable. When it comes to dining out, a nice greeting vs. a grunt is not too much to ask, is it? Thanks, Sluggers, for being the friendliest place in Seattle to enjoy a beer.
google avatar

Wesley G.

Yelp
My favorite sports bar in Seattle. Great staff, cold beer and good times. You gotta check it out before Mariner's and Sea Hawks games. Yea

Nick T.

Yelp
Went to Sluggers yesterday with my brother who was visiting from The UK. The food was excellent (I had the philly cheese steak). Great selection of beers and an absolutely charming bar maid. A very large friendly bulldog was on patrol to eat any scraps which fell off the plate on to the floor. Great decor and a wonderful sign banning discussion on politics and religion at the Bar !! An overall great experience and highly recommended to anyone in the area of the stadiums in Seattle.

Sara J.

Yelp
Curtis is the best!!!!!!!!! Best place for mariners all star week! Come here for a good time!
google avatar

Jaynne L.

Yelp
Went to sluggers for the first time before the sounders game. The service was great and accommodating since we had a fairly large party and was constantly in the walkway. We had their tots and beer. The tots were super crunchy and well tasted like what tots taste like but it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beer selection was great. We'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area!
google avatar

Micaela P.

Yelp
If I could give a place a 0 it would be Sluggers. Sal the bartender got so angry, rolling his eyes that we ordered a chilled shot then started talking crap about us to a 20 year old bar back and refused to give us his name. I will never return, hope he finds a better place to work!

Dejia G.

Yelp
Shelly the bartender we love you! Came to Seattle with a huge group and we were welcomed with open arms. Stayed to watch a football game and have a few drinks, I'll admit we're a rowdy bunch but not completely out of hand. We got the best service and I'll definitely recommend any friends coming to Seattle to come here and say hi!
google avatar

Kemley N.

Yelp
Fun bar to watch the game! I would recommend for small or medium size groups! Not too much safe but almost every stop has a view to the TVs. However, since the bar is carpeted it has an interesting smell.
google avatar

Ashlee M.

Yelp
Very poorly ran. Don't even try to bring your kids here. They will make you move multiple times. No direction for families or signage. Apparently groups of adults can also hoard family friendly areas with liquor everywhere. Just rude, you can't sit here statements. Will never return. Even without the kiddos.
google avatar

Thuy N.

Yelp
Utterly disappointed. I haven't been back here for a long time, but my salad was sad looking. What's even more sad was that they didn't even include the dressing for the salad. Most likely will not be back.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Sluggers is always a great place to stop by and have a drink or tasty bar food. It is the ultimate Seattle sports themed sports bar. Come in and support your local business.
google avatar

Sach D.

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple drinks before the Seahawks preseason game. It's basically a long tunnel, divey MLB baseball themed bar. Drinks can take a while on game nights, but it's packed and a great atmosphere. Food did not look that great, basically run of the mill deep fried pub fare. Only other knock is that the bathrooms are disgusting, and the urinal flushers don't work, causing an unbearable stench.
google avatar

Kathye J.

Yelp
Sluggers was a highlight of our visit to Seattle! The food was great and the people were so friendly and accommodating. Thanks Shelley for welcoming us so sincerely.

Paul K.

Yelp
Went today after Mariners game. Waitress seemed annoyed we were even there. Food menu was fried onion rings and wings. Place was packed.

Kacy J.

Yelp
I just went here tonight and had an awful experience. We ordered 3 entrees and 2 white claws and 1 beer and our bill was $89. We were confused as our entrees were approximately $15 each. We paid the bill with a 20% tip and then asked for an itemized receipt. The waitress brought us over an itemized receipt that was hand written and accused us of calling them a shady establishment when we'd already paid. We just wanted an itemized receipt for our records. We felt attacked as she brought a security guard with her. We definitely won't be coming back.

Charles A.

Yelp
I am a Seattle Sounders Season ticket holder and have been going to Sluggers for my pregame Big Boi Grilled Cheese Sandwich and two to three rounds of beer before each hone match the last two seasons. I am leaving this post a 1 star for this review due to the one waitress my best friend had to endure before tonight's match against the NY RedBulls. We decided to eat upstairs this time because we never have in the past. We sat down and after 15 minutes or so I asked the bus boy if we were able to order food upstairs since this was the first time we've chosen to eat upstairs. He asked us where we were sitting then mentioned to the waitress that we would like to order food. She walks over and hurriedly places two napkins in front of each of us and says "what do you want?" in a mildly rude tone. I says "hi- how are you today?" Waitress: "I'm tired" (rude tone) - "err how are you? -What do want!?" (rude tone) Me: "Big BoI Grill Cheese" Waitress: turns to my friend-"What do you want?" Friend: "French Dip" Waitress: "Fries or tots?" Friend: "Tots" Me: " Big Boi comes with fries only right?" Waitress: looks at me "Fries or Tots?" (Rude tone) Me: "Fries" We both were in utter shock for I have never ever been talked to in that manner ever at any pub, bar, dive, restaurant, eatery or cafe etc.. ever. She checked on us one time, "You guys are fine right? and you are both are on the same check right?" (Sarcastic tone as if we've asked her for a ton of service or something) I get the check that came to $32 pull out a $100 to pay for it and she says Waitress: "ugh.. I don't have change for a $100 bill, don't you have a card to use?" Me: "no if I wanted to use my card I'd pull it out and use it, this place is jammed packed with people how can you NOT have change or take a $100 bill? " Waitress: grabs my money, rings up bill and comes back with a smile and nice tone of voice and says "whew - I nearly got chewed out for a $100 bill, have a nice day ok?" At that point I'm like WT??? Needless to say she's lucky I left her the $1.00 tip she did NOT deserve. I get that people gave bad days, maybe she has a migraine or worked a long day, but we did not deserve to treated like dirt nor talked to like my business wasn't important enough to be addressed in a 1/2 decent manner. This is the first time I've ever eaten upstairs and will definitely be the last time I eat upstairs at Sluggers. This review is not ine to dog out on the place cause they have the best pub food around, the service is quick and prices are great. This is a review to let Sluggers Management know their waitress who was serving tonight needs to be addressed for her rude and obnoxious behavior and paying customers do not need to be subjected to this behavior. Did not get her name but her busboy was the tall white kid with the curly Afro who had to suffer and lose out on what would have been at least a 20% tip had the server been 1/2 way decent when taking and serving our simple order w/ relatively low attention needed by us. Charles A.

Yelp
Ha! Just having a drink. I dare not eat anything from this place. Look at the condiments... Yuck. I can only imagine what the bathroom will be like. Lawd help me.

RoxAnne S.

Yelp
Don't leave a bad review on your receipt, they will86 you over it. Very unprofessional and no way a restaurant should be running it's business. If I could leave a minus star review I would.

Drew C.

Yelp
Great bar to watch any sporting event. Helpful bar stuff, always a good time.
google avatar

Yasmin M.

Yelp
This place was crazy busy on a Saturday! All staff, with 1 exception, were super nice. I left my wallet on our table and came back the following morning hoping they had it. They weren't open yet, but there was a gentleman there who let us in to ID and retrieve it. SO THANKFUL! If you're a victim of the "Seattle Freeze" go here. You'll make friends within minutes of walking in the door.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Went there on the Fourth of July before a Mariners game. They didn't have any IPAs on tap somehow?? And about ten minutes after I got the beer, they told me they were closing early. Would have been nice to know before I just bought anything. And I get why they'd close early..... but got to give everyone a heads up before closing early!!! Not asking too much.
google avatar

Becky G.

Yelp
Fun place before and after games Always have to walk up after a game Watch your step. Lololol

Yelp
This place is awesome. We had great service even right before the Mariners game when it was super packed. The fried chicken sandwich was spectacular and the beer list is exensive
