Where to Eat Around City College

"Atlanta vegan burger sensation Slutty Vegan from Pinky Cole has opened its first Manhattan location following its New York debut in Ft. Greene, with a menu of plant-based sandwiches with on-theme names (for example, Fussy Hussy with  pickle, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato) and sides of fries." - Kayla Stewart, Eater Staff

Loved the welcoming environment! The greeter at the door welcomed us and made sure we understood the dynamics/layout/order of the store. The staff that took our order was friendly and offered good answers to our questions. I got the Hollywood, and my wife got the fussy gussy. Both were 10 out of 10. The fries that came with our burgers were delicious and very well seasoned, also a 10 out of 10. The passion fruit slushy I got was full of flavor but too much when it came to the sugar! Overall, I would 100% recommend! Please note that the food induced me and my wife into a nap after.

Awesome place overwhelming with awesome vibes! A vegan burger fast food restaurant? So cool!! Unfortunately, this is NOT a seat-in restaurant. Everything is take-out or pick-up. The staff was really lovely! I really appreciated their patience and friendliness when I took forever to decide what to get... My friend got a vegan chicken sandwich; she said it tasted just like Chick-fil-A. She really liked it! I got a burger called "One Night Stand." The burger patty was very burned, so I had to bite off and toss out quite a bit, but it was still good! The fries were sooooo good. Even when they got cold, they were still crispy outside and soft inside; they didn't get soggy at all! Wheelchair accessible. No dine-in options.

Love the energy in here, the fries are bangin so much flavor!! I tried the big dawg it was good I would I just change the sauce for something creamy. I loved the dragonfruit punch and sweet tea. Cashier was so cool, loved the service will be back and will buy merch next time!

I don’t know if they’re understaffed, but I waited twenty minutes for a “chicken” sandwich, sweet potato fries, and fried pickles on a Saturday afternoon. There were delivery guys waiting to pick up orders who were waiting just as long. Service was friendly and the employee behind the counter was patient and confirmed with me that everything that she entered into the register was correct. Fortunately(?), they got my order wrong and instead of putting chili sauce on my “chicken” sandwich, they made it normally (with their version of mayo). To my surprise, the sandwich was delicious and I would order it exactly as it comes next time (I did remove the slice of gouda cheese though). The sweet potato fries were decent. I had to wait another twenty minutes to eat them because I had to find a place to sit down since SV only offers takeout and there’s not a single seat in the establishment. The fried pickles were delicious. If you like pickles these are a must try.

Hospitality is on point. Brand marketing is insane (in the best way possible)! They even have cute dog bowls and collars imprinted “SluttyVegan”. I’m SOLD on SluttyVegan, and look forward to trying the original ATL location. While the vibrant ambiance and southern hospitality create a one of a kind take out experience, the food definitely lives up to the hype. I ordered the “DanceHall Queen” which came with Sluttyfries (standard) and the sea moss banana pudding known as the happy ending! Seriously, delicious! I ordered Sluttysauce on the side for the heck of it which served unnecessary because everything about my meal was enjoyable on its own. My fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy! My DanceHall Queen Burger was a well balanced burger that did a dance across my tastebuds! My happy ending (banana pudding) was the perfect way to end my Sluttyexperience. It wasn’t the best banana pudding I’ve had, but I loved the fresh chunks of banana and sea moss infusion. In addition to the food, I loved all the cute merchandise displayed and definitely would invest in some “Slutdust” seasoning for my own kitchen. I left Sluttyvegan last night with a smile on my face as the cashier called out, “We got that Slutyana out the building!” The plant based food left me fulfilled and energized. Truly a five star experience and my new favorite fast food dining in the city!

I’d been waiting for this spot to open for a long time! It’s great to have more vegan eateries in the neighborhood. They have a limited menu right now but I’m sure it will grow. It took about 20min to get my food, but that was probably because it’s opening week. I had the Fussy Hussy and fries— the fries were the best part! They also have merch and the staff makes it a fun experience. A little overpriced.
