Solid little tavern with cheap beer and food. Their handmade burgers are decent with super fresh ingredients and the mozzarella sticks weren't bad either. The beer list is minimal but covers the basics, and everything is served cold. It’s a local haunt with a dimly lit, worn atmosphere that gets the job done without trying too hard. Come here for reliable basics, not for an elevated dining experience

Great lil spot. I really liked the burger (10oz was huge but it really hit the spot) and they had a real nice draft craft selection. Bartenders were all nice and the vibe was chill. Random customers here were all nice and it seems like the kind of place that has a bunch of long time regulars. Also, the prices on the food was crazy inexpensive. Will definitely be back sometime in the future.

If you have ever wanted to travel back in time to enjoy an old neighborhood. bar and also experience the best burger in Dayton this is your place. The inside ozzed nastalgia and felt very like it was 1950 inside. Actually had pictures on the wall that proves nothing has changed since then other than the addition to some television on the walls. First time here so had to try the burger. A 10oz hand pattied burger cooked perfectly. The add-ons fresh and plentiful. Onion rings some of the best Ive ever had. Also had the patty melt. Grilled onions swis on rye bread. Fantastic!!!! Mozarella sticks-Breading was fantastic. Service fast expectionally friendly staff. Overall experience was A+++. Will return. Highly reccomend.

The food is great. We had some wings, appetizers, and the fish sandwich special and the party melt. We were served quickly and I think their BBQ wings are the best in Dayton. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Very good value, we even brought leftovers home.

Excellent classic dive bar! Looks the same as it did in the 1950s. Their hot wings are amazing! Mini pitchers of draft beer are also available at a great price!

The fall off needs to be studied. Used to be one of my all time favorites. Went back here earlier this week (first time I’ve been back in a few months) and there were flies in every corner of the place flying. The kitchen, the bar, even the bathrooms. I wish I was exaggerating, but there were so many flies FLYING around the whole restaurant. The bar area was infested, I felt like I was in the woods & should’ve brought bug spray there were so many flies. They were busy and after I got my drink I requested to order food, the waitresses attitude when she said “You’re gonna have to give me a minute, okay?” In an aggressive tone disheartened me as well. I totally understand that they were busy and everything so honestly that is not even the biggest complaint, no hard feelings about that, she is human and she is providing for herself & her loved ones, so I will give grace there. I ordered my usual drink order: half of my beer was foam, that wasn’t even the worst part. I took a sip, then afterwards, I found a FLY IN MY BEER. This was the last straw, I have never felt so disappointed and disgusted in forever. It is truly a shame, used to be one of my all time favorite spots for beer & grub. P.S. none of the staff in the kitchen wear gloves or any sanitary products at all. Just one other observation that I’ve just now realized.

The moment I stepped into this place, I was greeted with a warm welcome and enveloped by an incredible atmosphere. The attentive bartenders guided us through the menu, offering impeccable suggestions that hit the spot. While my friend savored the Swiss and mushroom burger, I indulged in the ten hot wings with fries, and let me tell you; they were nothing short of exceptional. The temptation to try the Swiss mushroom burger was irresistible and did not disappoint. I wholeheartedly recommend the burgers and the wings to anyone who appreciates a culinary delight. The overall experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Engaging conversations with fellow patrons at the bar added to the enjoyment, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit for more tantalizing food and delightful company. Not to mention, the prices were unbelievably reasonable!

So far the best burger in town. The family and I have been on the hunt for the ultimate Bacon Cheese burger. Well we found it. On top of a great burger, the service was spot on. We had a great team. When I say team, I mean a team. Servers, bar tender, food runners and cooks. They were packed and the food all came out the same time for our party of 13. We will definitely be back. The staff was fun and into joking around a bit. Always had a smile and played along. All and all a great total experience.

5 star Walleye lunch and 5 star service today Jan 3rd 2025. I had researched and saw the nice reviews from all the patrons who enjoyed the fried walleye lunches and dinners from this tavern and today my dad and I stopped a little afternoon time for a quick bite to eat. We each ordered the walleye special and got a small mini pitcher of beer to share. The place was packed on a Friday and we had to wait just a couple minutes to be seated at a table next to the Christmas tree and the corner, which was a great spot for two people to sit It was our first time there, and our waitresses name was Tori, and she was very helpful and absolute top notch great service in all category that a waitress should have from friendliness to bringing things quickly to ringing up our veterans discount on our meal getting us served promptly the bill was quickly brought to us and we left so they could see others and keep making some money and tips The fish was fantastic. Our serving was three nice large pieces of walleye each french fries coleslaw and they brought all the condiments out to the table, including vinegar if we chose. Our meal was served very quickly, considering how busy they were. All was piping hot and the fish was absolutely cooked to perfection. It was about a 20 mile round-trip for us to get out there from Miamisburg, but we will definitely be back for more great lunches.

A travesty was rectified this evening when we ventured over to Slyder's Tavern. How have I never been there before?! Classic, cozy, neighborhood bar complete with jukebox, we started with some hard ciders and fried mushrooms. R had a melt and I had a classic cheeseburger with American. You know I can't pass up a good onion ring, so I had those instead of chips. SO GOOD!! Not the biggest place ever and the lot was definitely too small for all the people who wanted in tonight, but overall, the perfect neighborhood bar & grille. Easy on the wallet, too

By far the best burger, because it's in my hometown (IYKYK). We visit here at least once a month- it is our favorite local joint. The service is always tops, the beer selection is always fresh and new (with the regulars on tap too), and the burgers are 100! Every time. I have NEVER had a bad burger here. I usually get the Bacon Cheeseburger MR with American cheese- what can I say, I'm a purist- and fries. My husband gets the same but larger one and subs out for onion rings then won't let me steal any because "I made my choice". I guess since I'm vegan now, I should ask Joe to add a portobello burger or beyond burger or something. I'll let you know how that convo goes for me- HA! It can be loud, and extremely busy but that is what Slyders is because it's amazing. Be ready to wait, even to sit at the bar, if you go at peak burger hours there may not even be a place to stand while you wait. Also, Friday walleye is great and you get a lot. So, if you're reading this during lent- they have options!

Slyders is a Dayton classic nestled in the Belmont neighborhood, very much a friendly place "where everybody knows your name". As the name implies, they're known for their burgers I love that you can customize to your heart's desire with 7 or 10 oz burgers. Onion rings are a must try. Reuben's are my fav. My husband's favorite is the Guiseppe Burger which is the Daily Special on Thursdays. All their sandwiches and apps are amazing too. Even though they can be pretty busy around dinner hours, it's always worth the wait!

A great neighborhood tavern with a rich history of serving the Dayton community for decades! Slyders is a smaller tavern that is almost always busy and for a good reason. My wife and I recently moved to the neighborhood and have visited Slyder's every weekend for the last month. We have yet to find anything on the menu that wasn't amazing! My top picks are the Hamburgers, Ruben sandwich and the wraps. Everything is top notch. The team at Slyders all work as a team and even during busy times the servers make sure you are fully taken care of.

Second time here for a burger. A much better experience. Burger was hot and served as requested. Really tasty! Fries were underwhelming and just warm at best. The kitchen is inconsistent. Burger was really good

This joint was jumping on mid-afternoon Saturday. A staff member caught our eyes and directed us to the only open table...later he shared that they were actually a little slow (!) at the moment. It's always busy here and for good reason. A boisterous, loud tavern experience. Amazingly good service. Jason welcomed us first timers warmly. He took our orders and explained the 3-person serving staff shared all duties. I saw all three on the floor and behind the bar at different times- bussing tables, mixing drinks, checking customers. There were at least three cooks I could see in the kitchen working non stop. Food was delicious and portions generous. The Reuben sandwich was the bomb - it was pressed between grilled buttered rye slices with the dressing on the side. A great idea. Such a happy friendly crowd, including those standing around the perimeter waiting patiently for seats. Parking is a little tight but I hear the Walgreens across the road makes their lot available to Slyder's patrons. This is a landmark establishment in business since 1948- here's to many many more years. Hope to return soon!

If I had $1 for every time I've had a great meal here I'd spend them all eating more here Today I had the chili and a BLT. They also have amazing burgers and the area's best onion rings.

I'm giving this five stars if you are looking for one thing. This is the best burger in Dayton, at a fun older bar. Nothing fancy about it, just great burgers with beer on tap. Would recommend if that's what you are looking for. Service is decent, ambience is an older midwestern bar. Recommend the Monday special burger, with bbq. Also the onion rings are better than the fries.

To start, the staff is great! Server was very personable, gave great recommendations, other staff members helped refill drinks and bring items to the tables. It is so nice to see a team environment when many restaurants seem so fractured. Food was great. Nothing pretentious or overthought, but good food done well. Burger was great. Sometimes you just need a good burger. This fulfilled the need. You can tell they have regulars and there is a homey feel to the place. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and l visited your establishment the other day and we were delighted! Our waitress was extremely kind and attentive and the owner was a joy. We both enjoyed delicious cheeseburgers and fries which were juicy and delicious. My boyfriend doubled up on his burger to get one HUGE 20OZ party. (He ate the whole thing too) We look forward to returning here soon!

I ordered the beacon cheese burger. It lacked flavor. The service is great. It's a little local place that everyone knows everyone. It's a bar so if you don't like little dives this is not for you then. My husband really enjoyed his beer. Overall it was a friendly little place.

We came in a few months ago and we were pretty dissatisfied. Our burgers were well done and very dry. Not what we ordered. Haven't been back since.

Quiet little bar in the middle of town. Clean and inviting! The folks at the bar are awesome and super friendly! Food was bar food but it was cooked well, and out quick. Drinks were plentiful and always full. Prices were cheap, and not because the food was trash...really, really enjoyed them...I'll be back! What really sold me was the atmosphere....the guys really made you feel comfortable, and chill type environment! 10/10

Burgers here are DELICIOUS. The service was excellent for my lunch to-go order on a Thursday. The ambiance seemed like a very old school dive where I could definitely see myself going to grab a beer after work or to watch a game on a Saturday.

Love Slyder's for burgers and chili cheese fries. Whenever I crave a good burger, Slyder's is my go to place. The chili cheese fries are very good. I did notice that this last time though they were in a small fry type tray versus the platter they use to be served on. Still the same great flavor though. Honestly, I have never had any other food here because I always go there for the same 2 items. It is an old smaller bar with very friendly staff. I recommend trying it.

This little corner of yum in Dayton was a feast for eyes and stomach! The portions were generous and everything was super delish! The servers were so helpful explaining what the items were. Don't miss this!

Slyder's is known to have the best burgers in Dayton and after my recent carryout order on Saturday, they still are!!! The 7oz mushroom burger is truly the best with filled with mushrooms and smothered in melted swiss cheese - you can't beat the seasoned grill after years of serving up amazing local burgers. Plus their fried mushrooms hot right out of the fryer are just right with cocktail sauce. My Mom loves their French dip and they also have great onion rings. Plus now you can get beer on draft in a growler with your carryout order. You can bring your own or they can provide you a growler. A must for any visit to Dayton!

I wanted to try this restaurant because of the reviews. Called in and placed an order for a party of 3. The man who took our order was so rude and short with us we decided to cancel our order. We weren't rude, or demanding simply wanting to try your burgers. We felt so uncomfortable how we were spoken to we called back and canceled. He was still rude and used they're just busy as an excuse. Horrible horrible service. If you're miserable at your job quit and do something different. It's unfortunate but we will NEVER eat here. Friendly, pleasant, and kind service should be apart of your business.

I've eaten at this place about 50 times over the years. It's a regular go-to for bar food. Best wings in the area, but also known for their burgers. Really enjoy the patty melt. Service is always top notch. Most of the staff has been around for quite some time. The venue is a bit small/cramped at peek times. Parking lot is small but you can park in the back of the CVS across the street. Two thumbs up!

Atmosphere is definitely old school bar, but clean and pleasant to sit in. Staff are great, you can tell they all enjoy working there and are very personable with the customers. Burgers were very good as are their union rings. Burgers come in 5,7,10 oz, thick and full of flavor. Onion rings are thin and not overly breaded. Great experience overall.

Slyder's is a classic dive in the Belmont neighborhood. It's small inside and usually always busy. Lots of bar seating. The servers and bartenders are very friendly and pretty attentive. The food is usually awesome here, and the menu is actually pretty large. Great burgers and wings. But I've been there before when it was busy and the chili came out cold and the wings were overcooked. They don't mind bringing out fresh hot chili if you ask. Parking is limited but you can park across the street at the Walgreens.

Went to visit with family and they suggested Slyder's. I don't know alot about Dayton but was told that they had Great burgers. Arrived at Slyder's only to find out it was fried walleye special night. Three Large pieces with coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Will return because I didn't get to try the burger that I heard was so good. Did try the potatoe skins appetizer and they were exactly the potatoe fix I was looking for Can't wait to go try the burger and onion rings. Oh and can't forget the wait staff G R E A T !

A neighborhood tavern that's older than I am...70 years! If my boyfriend had carved my initials on the bar many moons ago it would still be here cause nothing ever changes. It's East Dayton at it's best. My son likes to take us here. He loves the owner is always around and service is oh so good. He ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a side of fries and the server said "Honey, order the special with the sauce on the side, and it will be cheaper." Well, alrighty then. Cheaper is always better. And the food is good. I had a basket with onion rings, poppers, chicken fingers and potato skins. I usually eat more healthy, but it just seemed right and it was! Oh...burgers come in sizes. Four ounces, five ounces or seven ounces. When my son ordered the large she said "I just knew you would go large!" My son did ask if they had Angels Envy and the server and I both laughed. Top shelf here is Jim Beam. And that's OK. It's that kind of place. And they have lots of beer on tap. And lots of regulars. So if you're in the neighborhood, just swing by and enjoy an afternoon like we did.

I've been going to Slyders for 30 years. One of the oldest bar/restaurants in the Dayton area. It's the kind of place where people bring their family to eat. I could take my family for dinner and never did anyone get out of hand. Cold beer, great food, and friendly atmosphere. The burgers are excellent, as are their wings (big). I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there. It's a throwback to the "neighborhood bar". I plan to keep going for another 30 years. Looking for a cool place, with great food and friendly people, Slyders is it!

We decided to go out for burgers tonight and we chose Slyder's because the Dayton Daily News has rated it as the best burger in the City. This is a local cozy corner bar that also serves food, and the have a large menu. It was packed at 5:00. The burgers are ginormous, bun was upscale, came with pickles, lettuce and onion. It was cooked to medium as we asked. But it lacked in any seasoning and it was somewhat dry. We also ordered wings at medium heat, all drums. The Wings outshined the burger, crispy, delicious with a blue cheese sauce. Ooooooo. Fries were crispy fair in size and held plenty of ketchup. But they were just fries. The price for these were very reasonable. It's better than a 3 but a hard call for a 4. If I could give 1/2s, I'd rate this 3.5. I don't think the DDN has their burger rating correct.

Always Busy... but oh so worth it! Burger, fries and onion rings! Worth a relaxing wait. Staff treats everyone like family or an old college friend!
