The food is great, they serve some amazing vegetarian food, the quantity is impressive too! They have well curated seasonal cocktails, and the ambiance is just perfect. I love everything about this place, definitely my go-to restaurant in town.

I have been a happy customer of this establishment for years. When people come in from out of town, I bring them here. But I had dinner at Small Batch last week, and was very unhappy with the way I was treated in one particular respect. The food, as usual, was great. The service was uneven, but not a problem. However, like many people, I also come to this place for the whisky. On this occasion, I ordered a 2 oz pour of a Compass Box Peat Monster Scotch. The charge was $14 (it is possible to spend a lot more). The server brought me a glass of whiskey that clearly contained less than an ounce and a half of liquid. I sent it back. When I did that, the server looked at it and thought that it might have contained an ounce and a half. But after a few minutes, he brought the same amount of liquid back in a smaller glass and told me that they had measured it correctly. Problem is, I measure my whiskey at home very carefully and I know what 2 oz looks like. When I got home, I poured myself an ounce and a half of whiskey In a similar glass, and it was considerably more than what I had been given as 2 oz by Small Batch. I have not had this experience before at Small Batch, but it is extremely disappointing. All I can think of is that the restaurant must be struggling economically, and it is trying to cut corners wherever it can. That, or they just had a really bad bartender that night. I guess that in the future, when I go to this place, I will order smaller 1 oz pours in order to limit the damage. I will look at what I am served carefully, and will hope that I am not treated this way again. I am very fond of this restaurant, and I thought long and hard before putting up this review. My hope is that I can shame them into stopping this practice. They will not last if they mistreat people this way, and I would like for them to stick around.

I enjoyed Small Batch. My favorite dish was the “Lion’s Mane” entrée, which is a mushroom dish inspired by crab cakes. It’s really excellent. The arugula and sauce add just the right complementary touch to the mushroom cakes. There were some non-alcoholic cocktails on the menu, so I had to try them. The Snapdragon was excellent. Great flavor and size. I enjoyed the non-alcoholic Old Fashioned even more, which had an amazing pepperiness that made the drink feel more adult, though I wish it had been a little larger. The Brussels sprouts were good, but I would have liked something to brighten them up a bit, such as pomegranate seeds. The brownie was similar. It was good, but could have used something to make it a bit less dry (maybe some of their sorbet?). The brownie was also rather large, and would work better as something for a few people to share. I was a vegetarian for many years, so overall Small Batch worked out well for me. Most of the meal items are actually vegan. If that appeals to you, get the Lion’s Mane and a drink when you visit, and enjoy.

Hit up Small Batch last night with some friends. We had a lovely server who was extremely accommodating and helpful with the menu. I ordered the linguine. It was great in flavor but honestly too spicy for me. I will caveat this with the fact that I am a super taster and insanely sensitive to spice (in the heat sense, not flavors). My friend ordered the brownie and THAT was delicious. It was quite dense and fudgey. The atmosphere was quite nice and I think I would go back for a cocktail and lighter eats, or just a different dish.

The food and drinks were delicious! They definitely are able to pack a lot of flavor into these vegan dishes that make it a great experience. Though flavorful, their desserts (cake and bread pudding) can be a touch dense/dry but that nothing that their great cocktails can't help with!

Amazing place to get food and interesting, fun whiskey drinks. Whiskey selection is extensive. Whiskey sours are my “go to” drink and the New York sour was perfect. The food is delightful and satisfying. We tried the backyard BBQ, lions mane cakes, and the bread pudding. Highly recommend. Service was exceptional (thank you Miles)and the ambiance relaxing.

The atmosphere was pleasant and had a little bit of a dark ambiance. It's been a while, so I'm a little fuzzy on all of the details, but my recollection is that I enjoyed everything. I believe it was the Phad Thai that I got, and it was tasty. It has been on my list to stop back by when I had a chance and try things again, although they aren't the top of my revisit list, they definitely are on it. It was pretty quiet when I was there, and as I recall the service was friendly and it was a nice quiet dining experience.

Everything was perfect! Delicious food & cocktails, excellent service, 10/10. Absolutely will be back!

We had a great experience at Small Batch! The atmosphere was incredible, and the food was AMAZING! We had such a hard time choosing what to get, but ultimately we got the sangria and the Sgt. Pink Pepper cocktail, Brussels sprouts, baba ganoush, the sweet potato sandwich, and a brownie for dessert. Everything was delicious and the presentation was on point. We'll definitely be back!

This is a vegetarian restaurant with vegan options available and it great if you want an elevated dinner! It's perfect for a fancy date night or a nice get together with friends. I went with a medium sized group and so we basically tried everything on the menu and I have no complaints. Everything was delicious and I love that they use veggies in different ways. The lion's mane cake really stood out to me, it tasted just like a crab cake. I give it 4 stars, because service was just ok to me. Food came out fairly quickly, but they didn't seem very prepared on what was on the menu and I felt rushed when they started bussing & trying to clear plates from the table before we were finished.

Ratings order: 1. Ambiance; 2. Food; and 3. Service. The restaurant is located in a gentrified section of St. Louis. The entryway is welcoming and the dining area is bright and charming. The folks at the front were a little confused, but we were told that someone was training ( very understanding, didn't realize the trainee was also our server) What seemed like an eternity ( maybe because I was hungry, but they also forgot about us) someone came by our table and asked has anyone helped you guys. Minutes after that initial inquiry, another person stopped by and said our server would be by, next person was the trainee saying that he didn't realize that he was going to be helping us. We pushed through this little snafu. The food was delicious. I ordered the jambalaya! I wanted another level of spiciness, so I asked for hot sauce. We were told that they didn't have hot sauce at the restaurant ( I hope I didn't offend the chef). I would recommend, having a few bottles of hot sauce for us spicy lovers. The cornbread was disappointing. It was hard, and grainy. (Applesauce anyone, adds moisture to vegan baked goods). Oh, I almost forgot, the fries were excellent! Man, the best loaded fries. I have been avoiding jackfruit, after all few misses, but this restaurant restored my interest in this meat substitute. Well seasoned and the sauce was just right. Desert was a disappointing. Got the bread pudding. The presentation was appealing. The first bite was disappointing. The berry sauce was all wrong. Too many seeds, the acidity was definitely a turnoff. So, I attempted to remove the sauce and dug into the remainder of the dessert. Well, someone forgot to completely bake the dessert. The outside was warm, but the middle was ice cold. Avoid the bread pudding. Everyone enjoyed our cocktails. I would definitely recommend experimenting with their cocktail menu. I did notice that some drinks included honey. Heads up to us vegan who don't consume honey. Well, a bit of everything here. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. Ask for a substitute for the cornbread and stay the (;:$@ away from the bread pudding.

Service was much better this visit. I do really like the feel of the place. There are dishes I really like and I find some misses. I tried the sweet potato sandwich. Found it lacking in fillings which included toasted kale, sweet potato puree( bad choice, wedges would have been better suited to a sandwich) and apples ( two paper thin slices). Lots of fries included which were supposed to make up for what was lacking in the sandwich. Asked for a gluten free bun which did not enhance the sandwich either. For the price, this dish missed the mark. Have to say, this restaurant not on my go to list for price, quality.

I dined at Small Batch with a group of about 10 people on a Monday night. They had no trouble seating us. Street parking was also effortless. This restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings, low lighting, a loft area. Perfect for a first date or romantic outing. The drink menu is extensive with lots of whiskey and bourbon mixers. There is also wine and beer. I had a Honey Derby cocktail while I was waiting for my food to come out. It was wonderful. The menu is vegan with food most carnivore would also enjoy. I ordered the Sweet Potato Sandwich and fries. It was delicious! The fried kale on the sandwich made it for me. And an overwhelming side of fries that my friends helped me eat. So good! The service was a little slow. But, being able to sip on a great cocktail made up for it. Water bottles on the table. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items.

Well, it looks like I've dined here before, but didn't give a review. But the pictures look like it was amaaazing! This time around, the food was VERY good. I went with the Red Thai Curry, which was DELICIOUS, but came to the table almost cold. Two other people at the table ordered it too, and sent theirs back requesting that it be warmed up. That was a mistake on their part, because the kitchen chose to remake it instead of just warming it up. Everyone had completely finished their meals before theirs were brought back out. Visually, the restaurant seems very classy, but some folks had to keep their coats on the whole evening because of how cold it was. NOT classy! The bathroom was out of order, so one had to go outside to an adjoining building to use the restroom. The service was VERY slow, and there weren't that many other people in the restaurant. For the prices asked, this was a real disappointment.

Fantastic food for Vegan and Gluten free. The bar is full and wonderful. The waitstaff was great, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant was very cute and intimate. We had a large party with lots of apps, drinks, and entrees. We were well taken care of and enjoyed everything! The fried pickles and Brussel sprouts app were the best, the curry was a favorite for dinner, and the brownie was top notch for dessert. The whiskey bar did not disappoint. Try a paper plane!

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic date night at Small Batch on Friday evening. The ambiance was perfect, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a great evening. The service was prompt and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. I started with the whiskey cocktail "Paper Plane," which was really good--smooth, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick. For food, we ordered the fritters and red Thai curry. Both dishes were entirely vegan and absolutely delicious. The fritters were crispy and flavorful, while the red Thai curry had a wonderful depth of flavor and just the right amount of spice. Overall, our experience at Small Batch was excellent. The combination of great food, drinks, and ambiance made for a memorable evening. We'll definitely be visiting again!

We had a late night Valentine's Day dinner at Small Batch. We were greeted and seated within a couple minutes upon arrival for our reservation, but were warned that our food could take up to 45 minutes as the kitchen was backed up. This was initially not a problem as our drinks came immediately and our appetizers followed about 15-20 minutes after. We ordered the Fritas y Migas and the Carrot Ginger Bisque to start. The depth and flavors of the Fritas y Migas was a pleasant surprise and ended up being our favorite dish of the night. While the carrot ginger bisque had good flavor, it was completely cold by the time it was served but things like that happen and we still enjoyed the dish. While Valentine's day is a busy day and we understand the kitchen can be backed up, we waited for over an hour and a half to be served our mains, only to be extremely disappointed. The cavatapi references szechuan chili oil which is known to be a Chinese numbing spice but if it was included, it could not be tasted and was kind of plain/didn't meet expectations. The only flavor profile was savory. The braised tofu is really what put a damper as it is described to have notes of caramel, gochugaru and asian pear but ended up being three slices of firm tofu soaking in what can only be described as soy sauce, making the dish super salty and one note. Disappointing to say the least as tofu can be used in so many complex ways and was especially disappointing for the price point of the dish. After we were done eating, the restaurant had cleared out as it was 10:45 pm and the restaurant closed at 11 pm. There were only 3 other couples remaining in the restaurant but we still had to seek someone out to request boxes and our check as there was nobody attending to us for a long time. I've dined at Small Batch before and had good experiences in the past but this was just not one of those times. I'll likely only stick to drinks and apps in the future, skip the mains.

INSANELY GOOD. we were in town for work, and on our night off, we checked out this spot. Ambience is gorgeous and trendy, drinks were fantastic, service was 10/10, and the food...the FOOD! Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the chili fries and the Brussels sprouts, but you really can't go wrong.

Stopped in for a night cap after catching a comedy show across the street. What a cool space! Dining areas had beautiful place settings, there was balcony seating also. We sat at the bar, was welcomed right away and offered food. Bartender was so friendly and helpful with the menu. Poured great drinks also. This sits on the corner and has really good curb appeal.

Is it vegan or is it a cocktail lounge. Food is inedible. Haven't been back to give it a second chance tho

Love visiting small batch for all events bout or small. Love the cocktail menu and the food is always delicious! The staff is super friendly and can't wait to go back! Try it for yourself you won't even realize it's healthy!

As a vegetarian for over 30 years, I wanted to support this place and have had good experiences here in the past. But last night was pretty awful. We were told that the penne would take a while because they had to make a new batch of sauce. But when it finally came out (after a long wait), there was hardly any "sauce" on it and it was just a bowl of noodles you would serve to a toddler (plus seitan). We also had a bad experience with the bar (via server and manager). The wine on the menu was not what they served (and way too cold for reds). I know my wines, and it was either a bait-and-switch or they are so poorly stored that they are off. I don't normally make a fuss but this was egregious. And they resisted crediting the bad ones off our bill. All that said, the minestrone was excellent and the curry was fine. But we will not go back.

We stopped in for a quick drink in between other stops. Love, love the building and the atmosphere. We sat outside, as it was a gorgeous evening. Our server was terrific, loved his humor (and honesty!). The food menu is all vegetarian, which isn't our thing, so we'll likely never hang out here for a meal, but the drinks are outstanding. Sometimes craft cocktail places go high on prices and low on alcohol content (if I'm paying $13-$15 for a cocktail, I at least want to taste the alcohol), but that didn't seem to be the case here. We were very pleased with balance of flavor with a generous alcohol pour in the cocktails. The price point is that of craft cocktails, but nothing crazy. While I can't speak for the food, we do recommend Small Batch for a nice cocktail.

Had another great dinner at Small Batch! My friends and I always make it a point to walk down from the Fox at least once during the season and we haven't been disappointed yet. Tonight I had the Seelbach bourbon and champagne cocktail, which was a little lighter then the usual bourbon cocktails I enjoy and very tasty. I shared the braised escarole salad with a friend for an appetizer and it was very fresh and flavorful. For my entree, I ordered the gemelli. It was perfectly spicy and the eggplant was fried and nice and crispy, though a little awkward to cut in the pasta bowl. Our server was very attentive. Our water glasses stayed full and we all got a second round of drinks. When you order off their bourbon list, you can get ice and/or an eye dropper of water to doctor it to your preference.

We love Small Batch! The food and service are always excellent, with creative and delicious combinations of flavors in a beautiful setting. Indulgent and fabulous!

We only had drinks and dessert, but both were amazing. We had the sorbet and cake. Boyfriend had a whiskey flight and loved it.

One of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been too. We ordered every item on the menu, literally. Not one disappointment. Really had to struggle to finish dessert. So full. But couldn't stop. Elevated stylish space too. Very nice spot for vegans that's not a dive.

Came back for the food and I'm just going to say, didn't disappoint. We made a reservation for my birthday and sat on the balcony, it was so intimate and perfect for the occasion! Service was quick, drinks were great, food was phenomenal (even for my meat eating fiancé!).

Came with my hubby to celebrate 1 week of following vegetarian diet. Ive seen this restaurant before but i found to be a good occasion to celebrate a successful week of no surrender. The restaurant is quiet cool, elegant has vibe of take be back to old days in a modern pattern. Waiters are respectful and pleasant. Braised Escarole: it was light appetizer of braised potatoes, pepper ... flavored with cashew Green Fried Rice: rice was well cooked, right portion, filling Lion's Mane: its really good, i would describe it as "Star Plate" , mushroom cake tasted really good We enjoyed it , it is a soothing way to end Sunday night

Thoroughly enjoyed myself! Posh and upscale atmosphere. The staff were all great and helpful. I'm not really a whisky drinker, but our lovely server provided an enjoyable recommendation (Ruby & Huck! A sweeter option). As an appetizer, I had the plantains which were pretty tasty; and for dinner, I had the Green Fried Rice which was light, yet filling! Will definitely plan another visit. The Fritas y Migas looked tasty.

Went here for a friend that was in town who is vegetarian and loves whiskey so this was a PERFECT spot. My husband and I are not vegetarian but we really.enjoyed the food! The lions mane, brussel sprouts and poutine were delicious. Husband's falafel burger was slightly dry but good. My friend loved the fried rice. Plantines were the only thing that were just ok. Drinks were good. I loved my fig vodka drink since I'm not big on whiskey

Great place for bourbon inspired drinks, but the menu is less to be desired. Cool atmosphere, so a nice place for an after work cocktail.

It's the second time I've been here and I'm still not impressed with the drinks, maybe because I keep trying to order cocktails and their thing is the huge selection of Scotch, Bourbon, etc. On the table we had the Hum For Your Buzz which I'm sad to say but it is probably the worst drink I've ever had (that was the opinion of the 5 of us on the table, it was just really bad, I'm sorry), we just couldn't drink that (maybe there's people out there who could like it (?), not us) and the Seelbach was pretty bad but not that bad. I do want to mention they gave us another cocktail and we were not charged for it so that's appreciated. I had the Garden something which was really refreshing and light, perfect for a hot day. We ordered all the appetizers to share except the salad because we had the Summer Grain Salad which was the best thing we tried, I could totally have that with the garden drink and it would be a nice summer meal but the rest of the item just very average, the flavors (in my opinion) were pretty bland or really spicy, not well balanced . The poutine was fine, but I mean that's fries. The service was good, everyone nice and the place is really cool. The display of bottles at the bar is impressive. Maybe stay away from those drinks, stick to flights and straight up drinks and this will be a good place.

We invited two vegan friends to join us. They appreciated the vegan choices. The migas appetizer is a generous serving and excellent. Good cocktails and great whiskey selection including flights. All four of us enjoyed our drinks and food and we will be back!

Really solid veggie food. My sis and I visited before seeing Brett Goldstein at the Fox. Good service. Fun vibe. But above all, the food was surprisingly delicious. I'd go back.

Service was absolutely amazing, and the whiskey selection is great. I tried the Red Thai Curry, Fried Pickles, and Beet Hummus everything was delicious. I also tried their whiskey flight The Big Three, and Paper Plane. The Paper Plane was balanced, and beautiful I didn't want to take a sip. I recommend this place for anyone who enjoys yummy cocktails, and scrumptious food.

The ambiance is very speakeasy like and I loved it. You can definitely have a romantic night or just catching up with an old friend as it's not too loud and very cozy. We stopped here for some apps and drinks. The drinks are so good. We got a paper plane and figgin' around. The food was good. You should know that it is a vegetarian restaurant, but don't let that stop you from trying it! If that's not your thing, maybe come for drinks before or after dinner? The brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious. I liked the cauliflower, but not nearly as much as the Brussels. The poutine was okay, but that's because I am not a poutine person so I am a poor judge of that. The bartender was super friendly and had a good sense of humor. I definitely recommend coming here for some quality cocktails!

Typically the service here is better but tonight I waited for an extended amount of time for the following: 1. my server to attend to the table ( watched the host sit another guest and the server attend to them very promptly - at that point I asked the host who & where my server was) 2. Entree - for context I placed my drink, appetizer, and entree at the same time. The restaurant was not at full capacity but the kitchen was backed up according to my server after I asked how much longer my food would take. I'm sitting here writing this and it's been well over 30mins

Always fantastic service and delicious food, with a great cocktail and drink selection. It's one of my favorites in STL. They really know what they are doing! Tip: Get a reservation.

The food is excellent, as upscale vegan and vegetarian can be hard to come by. Small Batch is always my first choice! And, I love the vibe! Great atmosphere along with a huge menu of drinks and cocktails! And, did mention the service?!!

Awesome place. We have been several times and it's always great. Great selection of drinks and yummy vegan food. I'm not vegan but this stuff could change my mind.

I can't say that I was a fan of Small Batch in any way, shape, or form. I suppose the best thing about it was the interior decorating, style, and ambiance. I did not like the food and I had better cocktails. Would I go again? Not sure.

We've only had good experiences with Small Batch. Excellent vegetarian menu with good vegan options. We've brought groups of 8 and 11 people and they've been quick and knowledgeable about the whiskey. They also have good non-alcoholic options for me.

Great ambience, fantastic cocktails and delicious food. This is a cool place to chill with other adults with an open mind for something a little different.

I am so happy small batch reopened!! They were closed for a while, but finally- I got the chance to eat here. 4 of us went in on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy, but I'm glad we made reservations anyways. What we ordered: to drink I got the pear blossom. I'm normally not a bourbon gal, but the cocktail was so light and refreshing! I ordered two! To start off, my bf and I split the cauliflower and tteokbokki. The cauliflower slightly reminded me of biscuits. If I went back I would most likely not reorder it, but it was still good. The tteokbokki has amazing flavor! The cauliflower would be greatly improved if it had a drizzle of the treokbokki sauce on it. As our main we split the pad Thai. I really liked it, but it also wasn't the best pad Thai ever Our experience at small batch was great, the menu is extensive, and the ambiance is trendy and intimate.

Tasteless and unremarkable food.. I just went there last night after not being there for about two years. My first experience was good years back, Brussels sprouts were great (not a menu item right now and I had some curry dish which was full of flavor. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went and I was so excited to show him a new place..YUCK! He got the rigatoni and it was SOOOO bland how do you mess up a simple tomato sauce ?! Where was the garlic, basil, fresh tomatoes, maybe even red pepper for spice etc.. it's a vegetarian restaurant this one should be a star dish because it's so stinking easy! Prego and Bertolli have more taste than this. Also, it tasted like bland kale greens were somehow blended into the sauce, not good. And the sauce separated really bad at the bottom and was oily.. we were shocked. I got the Chef Special and it might as well of been a bowl full of slop and air. It was not good, had no flavor and with all the ingredients had the potential to be great. The chef missed the mark last night. I would return for whiskey and the chocolate cake but the rest was not good food at all. I don't recommend until the Chef taste their food vegetarian doesn't mean tasteless!

As a vegetarian, I was pretty excited to try Small Batch. I brought some friends who are also vegetarian and love whiskey/good cocktails. The atmosphere was really nice, modern and sleek. Black and white color theme, love the look of iron details and the upstairs balcony seating. The flooring is really nice but I'll say really loud to move the chairs around on. Other downside was the temp - it was pretty freezing inside. Food and drinks were awesome. The menu had a lot of unique terms we had to Google, but I trusted the food since it was all vegetarian. We were all really happy with our meals and I was so FULL. That's not a common thing with vegetarian dishes - at most restaurants the veg dish is lacking but I could barely finish mine here. Great combination of flavors and textures. Price point is pretty high, it was about $150 for 4 of us but we each got a cocktail. Good place for a special occasion dinner.

I was a bit apprehensive to eat here as it had mixed reviews. There are two floors and the bar is located on the main floor. Hubby and I shared the green fried rice, cauliflower bites and garlic soup. Everything was very delicious. The cauliflower were bit heavy but still good. I got the gin based cocktail and asked for more sugar since it wasn't sweet at all. My husband's Manhattan was subpar. Prices seemed hefty for vegetarians dishes...

The ambiance in Small Batch is very nice. They have high top tables, low tables, upstairs, and I believe during the warmer months they have outdoor seating. It is vegan restaurant and a whiskey lounge. The drinks are all very unique and flavorful, some are definitely on the sweeter side. The poutine isnt vegan, but vegetarian and its is so good. The dish comes with cheese curds but we got them on the side! I also enjoyed the Brussels sprouts that comes with a red hazelnut sauce. I didn't really enjoy my falafel burger as much as I hoped. The shape honestly reminded me of a start crunch and it just through me off. Overall would return to try other things on the menu. Also, for the appetizers and Brussels ! Happy Findings!

Classy place to have a meal with a date or with family. My family got the rigatoni, green fried rice, and the lion's mane. I especially like the lion's mane, though it had I think some minced orange rind on it that was sometimes an overpowering flavor. We also got brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and it was phenomenal. Perfectly roasted. More generally, I love that this is a very vegan-friendly restaurant. Will definitely come back here again!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Amazing! If you want a vegan/vegetarian meal that is quality and delicious, this is where you should go. The drinks were delightful, but the food is off the charts. Everything was perfection! Thank you!

Still love this place. The ambiance is lovely as always, chic and quaint. The food and service have been better and my bf had to ask several times for a drink he ordered before dinner, and we had already finished eating by the time it was brought to the table, that was right across from the bar area... maybe it was a bad night
