Former Old Town Bar Owner Charged in Fatal Hit and Run | Eater Chicago

"A suburban offshoot of a popular West Loop burger concept that signed a 10-year lease on a 4,600-square-foot site on Higgins Road in Rosemont; the planned restaurant will include a retractable roof and two drive-thru lanes and is intended as a prototype for future suburban locations." - Naomi Waxman

Stopped by on my way to the airport and honestly, I still don’t understand the hype. For the price point, I expected way better. A burger, fries, and drink ran me over $20, which feels steep for what you get. The space itself is Instagram-worthy, but the food doesn’t live up to the aesthetic. The burger was average at best with very little flavor. Fries were fine, nothing special. My order did come out quickly, but the staff at the register weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Would I return? No. The value just isn’t there. For the same money (or less), you’re better off at Five Guys, where the food is consistently flavorful and filling.

Google
A lovely surprise for my unexpected stay at the Hampton across the street. Price is high for what you get. Burger is not very flavorful, and fries were overcooked. Location is nice, whether you want to sit inside or on the patio. Quick service and clean facilities. I recommend the boozy milkshake; I did chocolate and whiskey.

Such a lovely dining area. The burger was delicious! There were several sauces to choose from for our French fries. The experience was delightful, we will be back.

Visited Small Cheval for the first time at their Rosemont location, tucked in a suburb of Chicago. I’d seen some great pictures online and thought I’d give their burger a try. I ordered the signature double cheeseburger with bacon, garlic aioli, and the standard condiments, plus a side of crispy fries and a Mexican Coke. Overall, the burger was solid—not quite the best I’ve ever had, but still very enjoyable. After a couple of bites, I ended up removing the extra onions and even took off the bacon. Surprisingly, I liked it much better that way—the simpler flavor came through more clearly. A bit of a burger purist move, I know, but sometimes less is more. That said, the quality of the ingredients was good, and I’d give the burger a solid 4 out of 5. The fries were a standout—crispy and golden, just how I like them. I especially appreciated the smaller, crunchier pieces. And of course, you can’t go wrong with a cold Mexican Coke to wash it all down. The atmosphere inside was bright, clean, and welcoming. The staff, from cashiers to servers, were friendly and helpful, which added to the positive experience. Would I go back? Definitely. Just maybe hold the bacon next time.

This is a great place to grab a burger, some fries, and an awesome milkshake! Hamburgers are delicious with some fresh options and sides. The unique sauce is really fantastic. The best part about this specific establishment is there knowledge of food allergies and the great way that they can handle and accommodate them. Many gluten free options are available here.

3/9/2025 Hello! I went to small cheval it is alright. You should check it out. First talk about the food the burger was absolutely delicious, however, the fries on the other hand were cold and a bit soggy. So that’s why this gets four stars. The service was OK. Nothing special I didn’t. They checked up on us at least one time. Four stars. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful breathtaking even. With the roof be made of glass paint unless all the natural light and looks beautiful. There are plants everywhere and it adds aesthetic of the old Timey diner. Five stars. Overall, a good place if you’re nearby I’d recommend checking out!

Google
Wished it was way better for the price. I got a single burger and a chocolate shake in the drive through. The shake had no flavor at all. It maybe has a mild taste of pure cocoa powder, not sweet or chocolate. The burger did have good flavor, but it wasn't any better than Culver's and the patty was crazy small compared to the bun. They also gave me very little onions. The young man in the drive through was very nice. From what I saw of the restaurant it looks like it would be a fun place to physically hang out.

Google
I came here with the family and for the most part, enjoyed our time here. The food took a bit long to cook but was good except that my mom's burger was a bit cold! Other than that everything was great and we will be back soon!

Yelp
Amazing service, the gentleman did a great job at greeting and welcoming. The food was great I didn't recognize any difference between the other small cheval locations. The food was well cooked warm and neatly prepared. The ambiance was amazing but I do believe guest can do better at cleaning up after themselves.

Yelp
Small Cheval is the kind of burger spot that makes you remember why simple done right is undefeated. The burger is juicy, perfectly salty, and hits that sweet spot of messy-in-a-good-way without trying too hard. The sauce, pickles, and onions all balance out so every bite feels dialed. The vibe is laid-back and effortless, like a place that knows it doesn't need a huge menu or a ton of hype because the food does the talking. If you're in Chicago and want a reliable, craveable burger that actually lives up to the buzz, Small Cheval is a no-brainer. Oh and the best part is there's hardly ever a wait at this location but be advised it is away from the City.

Yelp
Great ambiance, terrific food and a solid experience. The chicken and the shakes are especially tasty. It's too expensive for what you get. The staff is hit or miss and do not really offer an elevated experience and they should at the prices they charge. You're basically paying a lot of money for good fast food in a cool environment (and the option to drink some booze). If that doesn't bother you I bet you'll love it.

Yelp
We stopped into Small Cheval on a whim on a Thursday afternoon around lunchtime. The parking lot was packed so we were a little nervous about dining in. We placed our order and just at that moment, a table became free.... Lucky! We ordered a couple cheeseburgers with fries and a four piece chicken nugget with fries. Our burgers were awesome and the nugs were great, as well. The fries were crisp and hot. The restaurant was very busy but it was clean and the employees were great. I hope we stop in again soon!

Yelp
Always quick service and clean bathrooms makes it an ideal stop before heading to O'Hare . The plant based burger was ok and I am quite certain highly processed. Tad bit disappointing
google avatar

Yelp
A casual and cute burger joint! There's plenty of seating and lots of parking. They provided quick service, and everything came out hot. I had high expectations but was a bit disappointed with the burger. It tasted just okay. I really liked the bun. It was delicious. But the burger and its toppings tasted pretty standard, similar to any other burger.

Yelp
Small Cheval serves the best burger in the country, and, no, that's not hyperbole. Juicy, savory, and delicious, these burgers bring the flavor. Brioche buns are paired with perfectly golden French fries, complemented by pickles, garlic mayo, and cheese. What makes this burger exceptional is that every component is elite. First, the bun is fantastic and not too bready. The beef is smashburger-style with an ideal meat-to-bun ratio. The pickles are thin and plentiful without being overbearing. I've been to the original Small Cheval dozens of times, and this was my first visit to the Rosemont location. The Rosemont location is huge, well-lit with natural light, and has an outdoor feel despite being enclosed. You feel like you're eating in someone's backyard. My only tip is that, unlike the original location, you must request the garlic aioli at the counter. Be sure to do so!
google avatar

Sonia B.

Yelp
I'll start by saying I LOVE the original Small Cheval location. I was very excited when Rosemont opened up. We placed an order through drive through and it was quick/ efficient. It wasn't crowded at all inside or in the drive through (Thursday evening around 7ish). The burger was good and pretty much how I remember it. However, the fries were HORRIBLE! They had a chemical-y taste to them! Or, they were spoiled potatoes... not sure. They weren't salted enough and some fries didn't seemed cooked. I always enjoyed dipping the fries in the aioli, but just ended up giving the fries to the hubby. Not sure if he ended up eating them or tossing them. I would give this location one more try in hopes that the fries are better. Burger was good though!

Yelp
If you have ever been to Au Cheval, you will know that they make one of the best burgers in the country. Small Chevelle is basically Au Cheval's little brother. It is meant more for their fast food arm of their restaurant where they make a delicious burger offering yet nowhere close to what you would get at the OG Au Cheval restaurant. with that said they do well for their menu. It is like a midtier fast food restaurant where the main products are hamburgers and fries and they offer hotdog as well. Very simple and straightforward. If you've ever been to In-N-Out in the West Coast, it draws a lot of parallels. The dining area and the ambience is a little bit more upscale than your standard fast food joint but nowhere close to a full dine in experience. If you haven't been, it's Wirth the experience to try at least once. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
It was pretty good. And although it's fairly expensive for a fast food restaurant, but on the plus side it's very filling so that helps make up for it. We got burgers and fries, as well as a milkshake, and both me and my partner agreed they make a pretty darn good burger. The little one had their "cheesy bun", which is simply a hamburger bun with cheese. Their burgers come with dijonnaise standard, but yuck, so I left that off. That was a good choice for me because it would have been far too mustardy. The burgers were just this side of well done, which was a little surprising since they were kind of the smash burger variety. The fries are not especially special but they're good, and the aioli they come with is what makes them special. The salted caramel milkshake is delicious! That was maybe my favorite part of the meal. The service was excellent. I don't know if I've had friendlier or more helpful service at any restaurant ever. The friendly service makes me excited to return. I don't know when, but I expect there will be a next time.

Yelp
I guess I went in with thoughts that it would live up to the original Cheval. It was just two overcooked burgers on a fluffy bun dressed in a delicious condiment. The service was great. Fries were tasty. The burgers are a hard pass for me. I saw the chicken sandwich and that looked good, so if I go back it will be for that.
google avatar

Yelp
First visit to this location. The ambiance was welcoming, with decor that made it feel like you were dining outdoors -- fitting for the style of food they serve. The menu was small, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The food was okay -- nothing to rave about. The fries we received were over-salted and lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. However, the price points were reasonable for the area. Service was friendly, which added to the positive experience. While it's not a place I'd go out of my way to return to, I'd consider stopping by again if I were in the area, especially since there aren't many other options nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
Double cheeseburger was excellent as was the fries. Went with a water but the beer choices looked impressive. Cheese sauce, truffle sauce and garlic aioli were great for dipping. Counter service, you pick up your food but it was quick and hot. We sat under a tree in the dining room. Will comeback.
google avatar

Aprille C.

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner after running around Chicago. The place looks cool inside and out. I love the look inside to look like outside with a tree and lights. Awesome! I ordered a single cheeseburger and fries. It was delicious. My friends loved their food too. My only complaint is that they don't take cash.
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
It makes me laugh when people knock city joints that move to the suburbs. Nothing wrong with a little sharing. I liked the decor, with the open skylight and trees, it almost felt like a Parisian cafe. Strange for a burger joint, but I liked it. I had the double cheeseburger with Dijonnaise, chopped onion, pickles, lettuce, and tomato. I think I would prefer caramelized onions to minced raw red, but it was still a great burger. Good ratio of beef to toppings to bun. Honestly though, a triple burger might be a nice option. Also drank my can of Gumballhead beer, props for having that available.

Yelp
We were lucky to get here before the Fri night dinner rush. The wait was a bit long, but worth it. Double cheeseburger: Wonderful, flavorful. Not greasy, cheese was great. Fries: pretty damn good. chicken tenders: these were a pleasant surprise. The chicken was not greasy and tasted like breast meat. Very similar to Raising Cane's, but probably a bit better. chicken sandwich - once again, very good. I'd recommend not passing this up.

Yelp
Not bad. Been here a handful of times after shopping at the outlets nearby or losing all my money at Rivers Casino. Location is convenient. Service is usually pretty quick and there always seems to be just enough seating when we arrive. Food wise I think the Chicago proper locations have a bit of an edge in terms of quality. Ambiance is quite nice as they managed to design it such that the interior gets lots of natural light and at times feels as if you're sitting out in a patio. Anyways, come for the burgers or chicken tenders. Kids won't be disappointed. 'Til next time, cheers!

Yelp
Although the manager assured me that he refunded my card. It never did get credited. Terrible go to Portillo's instead.

Yelp
Driver thru is beyond slow. Even when ordering a single item like fries you will wait for nearly 10 minutes

Yelp
Nope! As much as I love Au'cheval, I can't condone this BS!!! H O R R I B L E!!!! Look at my picture of the old dried up hamburger meat they served me! Smh... I spent $30, I got a margarita, a dbl burger, requested they add bacon, no dej sauce. 5mins later I got a dry burger no bacon. SMFH!! Redropped old fries. Never again! Margarita was the best thing they had going in here. The place was packed. Tables weren't clean. Service was fine. I WILL NOT RETURN!!!!!!!

Yelp
Service was great, staff was awesome and ambiance is casual. Very pretty inside. Cheeseburger was just ok. Meat seemed to be small in comparison to the bun size. French Fries are awesome. Free refills on soft drinks. I just wanted to try it out since the burgers looked so good on the videos posted. They do have cocktails and ice cream. Pricey but worth a try.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for a weekday lunch after the primary noon lunch rush-hour time and surprising to say this place was still packed. The parking lot, although there seems to be a lot of parking spaces was very hard to locate an open space I guess simply because it shared with the local and also Neighbor restaurants, but also because this place was simply packed. As soon as you walk in, there's a line to order. The menu is huge on the wall and even though I couldn't tell the difference between some of the drink options and also what came with some of the food items. The cashier was super friendly, very patient and answered all my questions in fact, even help me pick out the root beer float I got. I don't eat beef burgers, but my friend who came with me does eat beef burgers and she said it was pretty good but not the best she's ever had. The fries were good and fresh however I do prefer skinny or fries. I got the chicken sandwich and wow, this is good. I must say there are actually better ones out there in the market that are also cheaper. The highlight definitely was the fact that if you get a root beer float, you can continue to get refills on the root beer itself without any additional charges so that was fantastic because I got two refills and made it worth it I would come back here again, but I have to say it really wasn't as great as I thought it was going to be, but the service was great. The decor and the place is clean. Also be prepared. There's a lot of communal tables so you might get stuck at one of those.

Karhleen W.

Yelp
Double hamburger was actually a "double hockey puck burger!" Overcooked and dry, with a few pickles and hardly any sauce (they completely forgot the onions). My order was carry out, so I couldn't complain in person. I will DEFINITELY NOT go back. A complete waste of $11 (I threw out most of my burger). I suggest you take a pass on this place. There are plenty of places to eat in Rosemont; this is definitely not one of them! Sad and disappointing.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
For one the parking lot had not been shoveled at all or the walk way inside. Only 2 tables were taken all the booths were dirty. Got food ( not hot) and really nothing special. It had no taste. First and last time there.
google avatar

Penelope P.

Yelp
Ordered to go and got a double patty with fries. Bun was nice and fluffy and whatever sauce that sauce is for the fries.... (Drool) *chef's kiss*. Can't speak for the service and ambiance since one of our co-workers picked it up, but they loved it enough that we ordered 2 days in a row. Will be back next time we're in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 10/10 Best burger place in Chicago! The signature double cheeseburger might seem expensive at $10.99, but boy is it juicy! The burger literally just had 2 patties, cheese, and mayo or garlic aoli, but it is so juicy, savory, and the flavors just melt in your mouth. The fries are $4.59, and they were a bit too salty. But, when I dipped them into the garlic aoli sauce, it lessened the salt taste and brought out the garlic flavor of the sauce. Service: 7/10 It wasn't that crowded, but my order of 6 burgers for my group of 6 took 20-30 minutes to arrive. Should've been faster for a fast food place. I liked how the provided a lot of sauce packets though. Ambiance: 10/10 Has a bit of a 50's fancy diner feel, combined with a nature aspect. There is a beautiful fake tree in the middle of the restaurant and the ceiling is glass. There is even nature sounds.

Yelp
Easy 5 Stars! My fiancé and I stopped out for a late lunch while in the Rosemont area. We LOVE that Small Cheval has opened a suburbs location to bring their city gourmet burgers a little closer to home. The pricing can seem a bit steep but the ingredients are so fresh and all items are made to order. Did I also mention this location has a drive through and free parking!?! The inside seating area is a bit small but thankfully, Small Cheval is known for being a fast casual spot so people tend not to linger. I recommend getting the double cheeseburger just so that the meat to bun ratio is more equal. Burgers come with pickles, onion, and dijon mustard; one can also add tomatoes or lettuce for free and bacon for an upcharge. My fiancé and I split a fry with truffle sauce followed by a chocolate milkshake. The fires were crispy and perfectly salted. The truffle sauce I will be thinking about for days to come. The milkshake was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. Our order was ready in a speedy fashion. The interior they have done an AMAZING job with. So happy to have this classic city spot in the convenience of the suburbs!
google avatar

Shari B.

Yelp
First time visiting the suburban location and it was very spacious with plenty of large tables. Service was friendly and quick. The burgers were big, but it didn't quite hit like they used to back in the day when they only had the OG spot. Regardless, I appreciate that they made my fries and burger without added salt!
google avatar

Bob C.

Yelp
Today we were in the area and decided to give this spot a try. I've heard a lot of hoopla about Small Cheval and I have to say I wasn't swept off my feet. I had a double and the other party I was with had the same The burger was ok , nothing great. Fries were good and they serve bottled water in cans. Service when we arrived was so so as we were the only one in line and it took 3 minutes for someone to come to the register to take our order. After we placed our order we waited 11 minutes for our order and the place wasn't busy. One very good thing was the dining area. Very warm and soothing I'll tell you our order consisted of 2 double cheese burgers , 1 order of fries, and 2 canned waters and tip for a total of $42.37 A bit pricy for the food and service One and done here. To many other places with better quality , better price point , and better service
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
The first thing I noticed about this location was all of the parking! Score! The second thing was the nice interior. It was very spacious with lots of seating. This location appeared to have more items on the menu than the small cheval in the city. We came before the dinner rush. Highly recommend the burgers!
google avatar

Yelp
I have wanted to try Small Cheval for years, and to my surprise, a location opened in Rosemont! Parking is super easy and the interior is awesome. It looks like it's outdoors with tons of trees and fun decor. Halfway through our meal, we were surprised to learn the roof retracts! Very cool on a nice day. My sister and I both got the double cheeseburger and fries. Definitely ask for the garlic aioli as it is a game changer. It really elevates both the burger and the fries. The burger was flavorful and juicy and the fries had a nice crisp. The truffle dipping sauce was also very tasty. I can see the hype behind this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I've become something of a Small Cheval regular, frequenting locations across the Chicago area. With a gluten-free fryer, they're a safe place for my girlfriend to eat. It helps that they always have delicious high-quality burgers and tenders at a price point that makes me happy. The Rosemont location is very pretty on the inside and gives backyard energy even though it's inside.
google avatar

Yelp
Not having been to Au Cheval yet, it's hard to compare Small Cheval to its predecessor. With that being said, we still tackled Small Cheval. It's a fast casual restaurant with a few items on their menu: cheeseburger, burger, grilled cheese, chicken tenders or chicken sandwich. They also have a smashburger, but why? I ordered the cheeseburger and my wife got the chicken sandwich (on the recommendation of our cashier/server). You can get fries or truffle fries (don't hold me to that, I just don't recall). The fries are large enough for two people. I'm a cheese fry guy. The don't really have cheese fries but you can get a cheese sauce cup on the side. It was okay, nothing spacing. For the chicken tenders/sandwich, they have a bunch of sauces to choose from. My wife had the buffalo sauce and said it was pretty good. As for the burger. It was good. I asked for it medium rare and it was cooked that way. The bun held up so well, that I wish there was less of it. It's very bready (see thick). It was made to order which was nice. It was a good burger overall. The chicken sandwich was delicious! It was a thick, juicy breast lightly fried. And the fried chicken is gluten free. I'm not sure if they have a gluten free bun, but they were proud to tell me the fried chicken is gluten free. They have fountain drinks (just go up and ask for refills). They also serve alcohol, but is a limited list. They even have alcohol to mix in the ice cream. They also have soft serve, shakes, and concrete mixers (like Dairy Queen's blizzards). My wife got a soft serve vanilla cone and I got their banana cream pie concrete mixer. Their soft serve is a mix between DQ and gelato. It's very smooth, creamy, and refreshing. The banana cream pie mixer was really, really good. However, you did have to get through half a small drink size cup to get to the banana cream pie part, but it was good and very filling and easily can be shared. Lastly, the staff was very friendly and helpful giving you their thoughts on what to order. Overall, if you're looking for a good burger, chicken sandwich and some good ice cream, you certainly can't go wrong with Small Cheval.

Yelp
I've heard about this location. Hubby and I have been to the other locations in the Chicagoland area, especially in Wrigleyville watching the Cubs in the bleachers! I remembered distinctly the burgers were so delicious. Bread was soft burger patties were hot and juicy, and the fries were fresh and crispy.., So I'm giving my honest review of this location Here we go: I came here on a Friday early evening with the hubby and my mom as we were in the area. I was raving about Cheval burgers to my mom as she was comparing best burger she had at one of the famous GR chef burgers places in Las Vegas and paid $15 for it. We ordered 3 signature double cheeseburgers 2 golden fries a strawberry shake Diet Coke Hot drip coffee The Cost..yeah you don't want to know for a burger meal. There was plenty of parking so as we were walking towards the entrance of the building, we noticed that they have outdoor patio eating, which is nice to see. As we walked in, we were greeted by people waiting for us to order. The staff was friendly and attentive. When I received my drink, the fountain drink is behind the counter, so I don't know if you can get free refills. The ice are those ice pellets that you can easily chew on like the ones they have at the hospital. They gave us a buzzer and we sat down in a booth when we got our food. Fries were in baskets that came with ketchup and garlic aïoli, and then our burgers were in paper to go containers. The burger was a nice size. It's brioche bun and the burger patties were like smashed burger patties. The flavor was good however I noticed that the buns didn't seem fresh and the patties felt like they were either overcooked. Basically the entire burger was dry. I was pretty shocked because I always talk about how good cheval burgers were. But this time I'm not surprised that my mom was not impressed and for the cost of us spending for high quality burgers it was subpar, sigh. Our Golden fries, they seemed like they were twice cooked and it didn't come out fresh and hot but dry, and too crispy. I'm not quite sure why our meals were all dry because they shouldn't be :( I was seriously hoping to write an awesome review because this location is closer to my house. My husband had his coffee and he said the taste was OK My Diet Coke was fine, but I did like the pellets of ice that I chewed after I finished my drink My mom enjoyed her strawberry shake. She said that it was good to appoint that she would get it again. Overall, the experience was OK and so was the food. I don't think we plan to go to this location again, especially spending that much on a burger meal. If we do go back and try again, maybe when it's warmer outside and if the food is better, then I will update my review, but for now check out the other locations instead especially the price you're paying for high-quality burgers.

Yelp
Was looking for something quick to eat, so I went through the drive-thru @ 4pm on a Monday. I'm literally the only car in the drive-thru and I ordered a (1) double cheeseburger, add bacon, add lettuce, add tomato and a side of fries. I even tipped them $2 Then, I drive back to my hotel, open the box, and see a double cheeseburger with literally nothing but mayonnaise on it ??? How do you forget the 5 other ingredients ??? No cheese (on a double "cheeseburger"). No pickles. No lettuce. No tomato. No bacon (which I also paid an extra $2 for).

Yelp
You can never go wrong with a small cheval burger. The fries aren't the greatest you'll ever have but they're solid with the garlic aioli. Service is always nice and fast and it's a nice place to hang as they serve alcoholic beverages.
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
This is not the same burger in wicker or at Au Cheval. So dry and boring. Beautiful spot but this place is weak. Too bad. Just when you didn't want into drive into the city. Back to the drawing board. Two thumbs way down.

Yelp
The very best burger, the fries are perfect, the drink options are exceptional... in love with this place. This location has cute trees inside with warm lights everywhere. The service stands out. For what is functionally fast food, this is above and beyond service. Friendly without being over the top. If you are dropping someone off at the airport, swing by here.

Yelp
Small Cheval is good. It's not mind blowing. I went out of my way to eat here, but you shouldn't. If you're nearby then it could be a good option. My burger was pretty dry for a medium cooked burger. It really needed the sauce it came with. Don't even think about ordering it without the sauce. I think you'll be disappointed. Pretty generous fries though. I could only manage to eat half, but I liked them. Better than the location in Wicker Park, this one has indoor seating and it's really cute. Feels like you're outside. Even on a rainy evening, it felt cheerful. That was quite an unexpected surprise.

Yelp
I've eaten at the wicker park location many times and the food has been good. Expensive, but good. The Rosemont location cost me $47 for two burgers, one fries, two fountain drinks, and tip. The food was... not good. The meat had an odd texture, the flavor was best described as unseasoned and the grease in the burger and overcooked fries rivaled the worst Taco Bell experience of my life. I do not recommend this location.

Yelp
This place is GORGEOUS inside! I absolutely love the vibe. And the service was really fantastic. We had 3 burgers, 2 orders of fries, two milkshake and a coffee and it came out to about $80. It was all fantastic, but $80? The fries should have at least been large. But will i go back? Yes. I will.

Yelp
I ordered catering from Small Cheval for a business event. It was a very easy process to order. As expected, the burgers were delicious fries were extra crispy, and the garlic aïoli is to die for. It was a bit pricey in terms of cost for ordering with some added fees, but the top-tier hamburgers made up for the expense. Thanks to the team at Small Cheval for this delicious meal (I will forever dream about the garlic aïoli)

Yelp
OK, so here's the deal - you like Small Cheval, chances are you'll like your visit here. Food is what you expect, staff is friendly enough, and it is a large, well-lit space with an exposed roof and an outdoors-y vibe. But I am dinging them because their architecture design firm seriously missed the mark with dining accessibility. If you are in a wheelchair, you have no dining option that is equal to a non-disabled person. The exception is warm weather, when you can eat outside where there are regular tables. Inside, you are out of luck. All the booths are raised up on a stair - you cannot transfer into them if you are in a wheelchair. Its baffling, inexplicable, borderline hostile. The other seats are backless stools that line huge circular tables/toadstools that are somewhere between low tops and high tops in height. One can remove certain stools to roll your chair up to the table, but then you have an Alice in Wonderland scenario - the table height is such that you'll feel like a child eating at the dining room table without a booster seat. The inexplicability of this is exacerbated by the fact that the rest of the establishment is a model of accessibility - parking spaces, fully accessible bathroom stall, wide spaces. It made for a disappointing, bait-and-switch experience.

Yelp
This place is in Rosemont and the decor inside makes you almost feel like you're outside. The food came out hot and fresh but makes you feel very full quickly. You must get garlic aioli with the fries .

Yelp
The hamburgers were not great, the milkshakes were amazing! Pricey but of course it's Chicago area. Lovely inside and out. It's CASHLESS ONLY which is kinda a pain in the butt.

Yelp
Not sure why there are low reviews. Got two burgers and fries delivered. The food is delicious and the garlic sauce is great. I have not been to the restaurant yet, but the food is really good. The lettuce wrap option is great as well. Also went to the restaurant recently and it was delicious with good service

Yelp
The place is cute. Interior is nice. We had hamburgers, chicken sandwich, fried chicken tenders, fries and root beer float. They were nice. Not like I will have to return to have them again nice but it was nice to try the cheval sub chain restaurant.
