This place is a true gem. When I hear "artisanal" and "local" buzzwords, I tend to be skeptical, but Small Oven delivered way above my expectations.
Ham and Middlebury Blue Cheese Sandwich: Super delicious! I believe this was served on their own sourdough bread, and it made all the difference. The ham was fresh and plentiful, and the pickled onions added a really nice touch to the overall flavor. The blue cheese was really creamy/smooth and tasted high quality as well. This comes with potato salad or sweet greens (add ~$2 for greens). I had the potato salad which was tasty and had plenty of veggies, but I would add something to make it a little creamier (minor suggestion).
Vegetarian Croissant: Really good as well. For just ~$3, we could not resist. The croissants here are some of the best we have had (ever?? perhaps); they are slightly crunchy and flaky on the outside, with a light and buttery inside, as you would typically want with a croissant. The cheese and kale were good additions. One suggestion would be to try spinach instead of kale, as spinach tends to provide more flavor.
Ham and Cheese Croissant: Same croissant comments here. Very good addition for ~$3. Highly recommend adding either croissant to your meal. The ham and cheese went well with the croissant. Relative to the size of the croissant (pretty large), there could be a bit more cheese and ham (this goes for the vegetarian croissant as well), but otherwise no suggestions.
